10381  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-10-17] bitcoin.com: Gemini’s Volume Moving up but not Pushing BitcoinPrice on: October 17, 2015, 09:50:05 AM
Of course it's not pushing the price. How can some one seriously expect that from an exchange that has just started and only serve US custommers at this point. I know the Winklevoss twins were very loud with everything related to their exchange, but it needs time. Give it at least a few months to settle and then start publishing these kind of articles.
10382  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Exchanges By Country on: October 17, 2015, 09:40:10 AM
it doesn't make sense to ask this, because exchange can deal with multiple country and their bank can be in a different location

just choose the one that support your country and you're done

He's just asking for a list of Bitcoin exchanges per country. OP; this link might answer your question. Click on each country to see the exchanges there. http://bitcoinx.io/country-index/
10383  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do we have a little way to go before the take off? on: October 17, 2015, 09:33:56 AM
There is no take-offs any more. Precisely because that's what everyone's expecting. Btc will continue this painful sideways movement with a little valleys and little peaks for a long time to come.

That's realistic. People expect everything from Bitcoin. Bitcoin always does the opposite of what people think. Cheesy Let's hope for a slow rise throughout the years. That's much better.
10384  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price rise? on: October 17, 2015, 08:27:30 AM
One of the possibility would be that huge Chinese speculators are playing a funny game that bring them a lot of money.
I was surprised to see bitcoin price increase without hear some news, maybe this is just manipulation by china market before christmas and i guess they want to take a profit in christmas day
Does that mean the price will go down back to $250 after christmas Sad
I was actually surprised too that the price went up in just one week Grin
especially the minimum news that we get regarding the price Sad

No one knows exactly what caused the price to go up. There hasn't been much interesting news that might give the Bitcoin price a certain direction. Don't worry about China, worry about when you're too late with buying.
10385  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC PRICE GOIN UPPPPPP!!! on: October 17, 2015, 08:22:21 AM
bitcoin uptrend started and we can see price above 300 this month, its good for everyone
up btc up  Cheesy

Funny that people get so excited and think it will get above $300 just because the price is going up. Reaching $300 is a level too high at the moment. I wonder when traders will start to take profits.
10386  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-10-16] CD: Bitcoin Node Numbers Fall After Spam Transaction 'Attack' on: October 16, 2015, 03:20:41 PM
It's a sad fact that the total amount of (reachable)nodes have been going down for quite some months. I am happy to contribute with my full node and will surely continue doing so. It's a temporary solution bumping the minimum fee to 0.00005BTC per KB, but I would prefer to see this restriction being aimed at transactions below 0.001BTC. And everything above this can be sent without a fee if the person so wish.
10387  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's stopping people from using bitcoin? on: October 16, 2015, 03:06:46 PM
People struggle to understand that most of their fiat curreny is virtual/digital, so i'm not surprised that the general public struggle to understand the concept of digital currency

Just like everything, it will take time. Alot of consumer education will have to take place, and alot of brushing up needs to occur in terms of how bitcoin is being presented to the public

Most people are waiting for other to do everything needed to put Bitcoin in a better daylight. But we as community can also do something. Readings, meetings, etc. All this can help making the average Joe's aware of what the benefits are compared to current fiat currencies. I have introduced Bitcoin to several people and they like the idea, the only let down for them is the high volatility.
10388  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach $300 this month? on: October 16, 2015, 12:38:18 PM
I don't think it will reach $300 this month as the price went up already this week. It can't go up all the time. I'm sure a dump will follow tomorrow or the day after that.
10389  Other / Off-topic / Re: The bitcoin in daily life on: October 16, 2015, 08:21:21 AM
Here in my country there are several places where you can spend your coins, but the total amount is still way too low. You can buy fastfood with Bitcoin, buy beer in a pub, rent a bike with Bitcoin. That's it about it. I am more interested in seeing a supermarket nearby willing to accept Bitcoin.
10390  Economy / Speculation / Re: China volume last 24 hours on: October 16, 2015, 08:13:28 AM
is that a bad news ?  Huh

Not really. It's more pathetic. I always consider Chinese exchanges volumes 10x lower than what they are. If they have a 24 hour volume of 500,000BTC I simply count it as 50,000BTC volume.
10391  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next target: 260-270 on: October 16, 2015, 08:07:38 AM
257 Smiley

Here we are right on track. We should see all exchanges break 260 within the next 50 hours.

It looks easy, but in fact it isn't. If a whale don't want to let it break through the $260 level, then we most likely fall back or even go sub $250 again.
10392  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price going up for no apparent reason? on: October 15, 2015, 11:59:13 AM
Gemini is the reason

gemini low volume suggest the opposite, i bet my ass this is the same pumper that is taking advantages of good news to pump the price a little, and force the other to follow

so he can dump later at 280, and cash out his profit, repeat from 230 or lower

I think you guys are a bit stuck on "the manipulator" theory.  While this was true in 2012, the market is simply too large to be manipulated by individuals these days.  Even back in 2012, I remember Bitpay handing it to pirate for tens of thousands of dollars one night when his manipulative efforts were discovered.  I believe it was that night "the manipulator" died.

The market bubbled from $2 up to $1,050 and then capitulated down at $180.  It isn't hard to see the trend changes...

i was thinking, if everyone is holding, and only few people are playing the market, it could be easy for a rich bitcoin guy(one of those 100k guy in the top ten) to manipulate the market, no matter how large bitcoin is or will be

That's assuming when every one is holding. People who say they are holding mostly just hold for a month or two. That's not really what I consider holding. Holding to me is keeping the coins untouched in my wallet for at least a few years.
10393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another article spreading false information about bitcoin on: October 15, 2015, 10:01:18 AM
In 99% of the time it's purely ignorance. I've seen a lot people like this talking nonsense about Bitcoin like they are an expert or something, while in fact they are less than a rookie. Just skip these articles as they have no value at all.
10394  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spending VERY Large Amounts of Bitcoin? on: October 15, 2015, 09:44:02 AM
100KBTC is enough to cause a deep flash crash. Especially on Chinese exchanges as their orderbooks are filled with a lot non existing buy orders. I personally would sell them on several large exchanges over a few weeks period, so I don't hurt the price that much.
10395  Economy / Speculation / Re: yay btc goes ~$250 ! on: October 15, 2015, 09:32:37 AM
According to the Bitcoin predictor the price will be around $275 by the end of this month.

i think it can go there much early, still two week to go and only 25 left, the last 20 were reached in much less than two weeks

going by this we can be there in one week

Everything is possible, but I think we've seen enough rise for this month already. It will probably bounce between $230-$259 for the comming weeks. Can't see enough buy support to break through the $260 for now.
10396  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will we have higher fees and lower network security after halving day? on: October 15, 2015, 09:28:18 AM
Don't think we'll see the fees going up after the halving. The low fee thing is one of the selling points of Bitcoin. Beside that, I don't think that many miners will shut down their hardware. It purely depends on what the price is by that time. If it goes up to at least $350 then the difficulty might stay the same.
10397  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gemini's launch is a failure, so is bitcoin on: October 14, 2015, 10:49:50 AM
It's better to see an exchange show its real volume rather than turning 100btc real volume into 2000btc fake volume like Chinese exchanges do. People here nowadays are too spoiled. Holding Bitcoin is considered boring, while in fact it is not. People compare volumes to fake Chinese volumes, while in fact they are 10-20 times less than what they show. Face the reality and you'll be fine.
10398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN the PORN and GAMBLING future? on: October 14, 2015, 10:13:42 AM
What do you think ?

Porn and gambling are industries perfectly ready to fully work with Bitcoin. What about purchasing digital products such as servers, domains, etc. It gives you the freedom you want, and the option to buy these things without connecting it to your personal information.
10399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Extremely slow confirmation time on: October 14, 2015, 09:59:04 AM
Blockchain.info only gives a rough estimate on when your transaction might get its first confirmation. Better to not look at their useless information. You can only wait and hope it will get included today. You can also set a standard minimum fee to be included in your client. This way you mostly get your transaction confirmed within a few blocks.
10400  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Death of Money on: October 14, 2015, 09:49:16 AM
I think the death of money will probably never happen as there are parts of the world seriously depending on the current fiat currencies. I fully believe and trust in Bitcoin and will continue to support it throughout the upcomming years. The blockchain technology is a great piece of technology that can seriously change the financial world, but as always with technology, things do get replaced by better alternatives quite often. I only hope that the open source nature of Bitcoin will be used wisely to make it future proof and not let it fall behind.
