1041  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: error code 43 on: January 18, 2018, 08:16:08 PM
I had this exact issue on one of my rigs a couple of weeks ago.  The gpu wasn't getting enough power.  The reason for that was that the power cable to the psu wasn't plugged all the way in, but the riser power was lighting the card up (which was making me thing it was getting power from the psu).

You said you've already checked all cables, so maybe this isn't your issue.
1042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Total Noob - need some help starting to mine Monero on: January 18, 2018, 06:49:58 PM
I was setting up my Monero port yesterday and forgot to put the port number on the location address.  Now when it tries to start it just says Socket Error and keeps trying to start.  It will not let me get back to settings to fix the error.  Any ideas?  Or do you need a screenshot?  I can screen shot later if needed.  Thanks in advance.

You failed to mention what miner you are using, but ... Right click on the config file and edit.

also interested if this site is a scam? anyone ever heard of them?..

If you haven't figured it out by reading this thread, I don't know what the fuck to tell you.  Buy them all.
1045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: is these antshop site fake//scam ? on: January 17, 2018, 11:52:52 PM
Lol ... You're an idiot.  They only have one official website.  www.bitmain.com
why you think im idot ?

For one, you can't spell.  In addition to that, Bitmain has one official website.  Saying that you think antshopminer.xo or whatever is an official website is moronic.
1046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW] Bitmain Antminer A3 on: January 17, 2018, 11:09:38 PM
I'm not understanding the algorithm that it uses, can anyone find much information about it?

Sai Coin is the main thing you'd be mining on this algo

I think ZEC, Zash.   I lookup a profit calculator, it was $ 83 per month.   Not good for $ 2400 machine..

Pass

lol zec is equihash.  Why chime in if you have no idea what you are talking about?

Lol.  Wow ... He has a lot more thinking to do.
1047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Farm Fan Recommendations on: January 17, 2018, 11:06:21 PM
This isn't really an answer to your question specifically, but I bought a couple of cheap 20" wal-mart box fans to try out. I mounted them to the back of a metal shelving unit that my rigs sit on to push the hot air out in front of the rigs.  I have four 6gpu rigs running and tested this out on two of them.  Let the fans run for a couple of hours and the two rigs that have fans on them have gpu temps that are 7-9 degrees cooler than the rigs that do not have fans on them.

Still doesn't solve the room ventilation issue.  Right now it's below freezing temps outside here, so I just opened the two windows in that room, close off the vent so there isn't heat coming in, and shut the door.  I'm going to need to find another solution once summer comes.  May have to get a portable ac unit.  My garage is directly below it and the garage isn't climate controlled.  So in the summer, heat rises from the garage into my mining room.

1048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Event Log Error - Win10 on: January 17, 2018, 03:53:20 AM
I would have a hdd handy...  if your not using a ssd this could be your hdd failing.  Make a backup.  Buy an SSD to run such large swap files.

I have seen controller errors on bad cables and bad hdd's only. Never a mb issue in my experience.

You would have a hard disk drive handy, huh?  OMG.  Did you even read my original post, mr. fucktard? Lol ... Jesus Christ, dumbass.  This beats the newbie dumbass posts, for sure!  Thanks for the bullshit response that wasn't helpful at all, because you can't fucking read Smiley Smiley Smiley  By the way, Happy New Year, friend.

I said in my original post that I did make a back up, was using a 120gb ssd and that I've also tried writing that backup to a new ssd.

I also never mentioned a swap file, so how the fuck would you even know?  P.S. ... I also reduced the size of the system page.  Go fuck your mother and send her my way when your done.
1049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Event Log Error - Win10 on: January 17, 2018, 03:23:56 AM
Swapped board.  Same issue.

I guess at this point, I'm going to reinstall the OS?  I haven't swapped the cpu or ram, but I don't see how either one of those is causing a hdd controller error.  I suppose deep down, it could be.  I'm running out of ideas, but I think next I will wipe the drive and install the OS from scratch.  When I swapped the ssd, I used an image of the first ssd.
1050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Event Log Error - Win10 on: January 16, 2018, 11:58:40 PM
I'm getting Event ID 11 - The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk0\DR0 in my Win10 event logs on one of my 6 gpu miners.  They are pretty constant and the rig will run for about 6-8 hours before crashing.

Asus Prime Z270-P
Ballistix Sport 4GB DDR4
Crucial 120GB SSD
Celeron 7th Gen Processor
(2) EVGA 1000W GQ Gold
(6) ASUS Republic of Gamers Strix 1080ti's

Thus far I have swapped the sata cable, moving the sata cable to a different sata controller (i've tried all 4), wrote my image to a new ssd and swapped it, installed latest chipset drivers, checked for bios update, nothing in the bios looks any different than any of my other 3 rigs.  Ran chkdsk.  No bad sectors.

Is there anything else anyone can think of doing before I swap the board?

If you're getting an effective hash rate that is on par with what others are getting, it is not a problem.

1055  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: hardware availability! on: January 16, 2018, 12:31:04 AM
In North America, how the hell does one get ahold of GPUs? I'm looking for 1070s but everything's been sold out for a while now. I realize not many people will be willing to share their sources/methods, but seriously: how are people still able to source hardware?

Maybe I'm too noob.

I feel for you man.  I only have 24 gpu's and I want more Sad Sad Sad
1056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash worker issue on: January 15, 2018, 08:08:01 PM
Stop using nicehash Smiley

Why would he stop using it? Its very profitable, especially now when they got free coinbase transfer, that you then can move for free to GDAX, which has free withdrawls! Its really really good now.

On the matter of topic, they just released a new version i belive, try updating.

Hate to admit it, but he's right as far as profitability goes.  The thing I hate about someone using it on their very first miner build is that it causes them to never educate themselves on mining singles.  They end up mining for months and have no clue about hash rates, other exchanges, cli wallets, various other gui wallets, coin research, and the list goes on and on and on.

And then the day (a day like we saw back in December) comes where NH is down for two weeks.  Those people weren't running their miners, because they had no clue how to mine a single coin.

To the OP ... There are a handful of good algo's that are good for Nvidia cards.  Equihash is one of them.
1057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nicehash worker issue on: January 15, 2018, 02:17:23 PM
You watched it until you got an email saying it was offline and never saw anything out of the ordinary in the software?
1058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I see people make their own miners, are they safe and do they work? on: January 15, 2018, 12:38:49 AM
You fucking mine coins with the software via whatever pool you want to mine with.  You obviously don't understand mining at all.  Start reading.  Jesus Christ man.
1059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Power supply on: January 15, 2018, 12:12:47 AM
Your Vega 56's require (3) 8 pins?  What kind are they?  Mine only require (2) 8 pins.  I have some 8pin splitters sitting here, but I have not tested them on anything yet.  I thought I was going to need them for one of my Nvidia rigs, but it turned out I had enough in the box for what I needed.  I also use two psu's for each rig, so I end up with enough cables.  Some of them I have to use two single 8 pins, but with two psu's, you end up ok.
1060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I see people make their own miners, are they safe and do they work? on: January 15, 2018, 12:01:39 AM
No I already told you that I personally wouldn't mix AMD and Nvidia in the same rig.  And no, you'll probably have to run two seperate miners on the same rig if you have a 1070 and a Vega in the same rig.  If you want to mine XMR with your Vega, you'll have to run a miner that does that.  If you want to mine ZEN with your 1070, you'll have to run a miner for that.  More headaches to deal with in the same rig.  I don't like it.

If you're only going to run two cards, get a 1070ti or a 1080ti to run with your 1070 and start mining a coin that uses the equihash algo.  You can research other algo's, because Nvidia will do quite a few pretty well.
