1041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Privacy concern for bitcoin users on: April 15, 2022, 07:14:48 PM
This is bad, KYC is okay and looks like a genuine concern but such sort of questions and that also from the Exchanges rather than any authority looks really strange, it's okay to say that some people do bring hacked stolen bitcoin on Exchanges but it's not ultimately the exchange's duty to ask questions regarding that, concerned authorities should only have the powers to do the same and at the same time exchanges shouldn't even be liable in such instances, all they should be liable is to provide info as to which user has done KYC and is that KYC accurate that's it.
1042  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🔥 BTC365.com 🔥 IPL Prediction Pool 2022 & Discussion(Participants Only) on: April 15, 2022, 07:08:16 PM
SRH - In last season fight between management and David Warner really messed up their franchise performance and they are keeping the tradition alive. Having said that i do love their bowling attack.
You are wrong here. SRH management was a mess and their team suffered because of it in the previous seasons, but they have bounced back pretty well in this season so far even though I still don't like their management.

They defeated KKR very easily which was surprising since I expected them to win comfortably. Their batsmen and bowlers are working well together currently.
Exactly SRH has Altogether turned the tables from what they started in this season, Rahul Tripathi batted so well and even Markram is in great touch, SRH made an easy win with more than 2 overs to spare. This IPl has really become too interesting now, technically upto 1/3rd stage, if you leave MI and CSK rest all the teams are around each other and have won and lost against each other so no team has been able to standout completely so far.
1043  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold and precious metals should scale to buy coffee on: April 15, 2022, 06:53:38 AM
I know one person who had introduced this idea of gold standard a few years back arguing that no fiat has ever stayed in the economy for a long run eventually it comes back to metal standards, but I think such type of minting isn't really required these days, you can have a central depository stored somewhere offshore which is a decentralised organization having say of all the members. Then you can introduce digital gold and just transact using digital gold easily with the tap of your mobile phone.
1044  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Could Russia really be considered as a democratic state? on: April 15, 2022, 06:42:44 AM
What happens when too much power is given to one individual? Autocracy slowly and gradually creeps in.
Power should belong to the people as it is the people that is being governed. It is the people who elects principal officials into sensitive positions that can affect either positively or negatively. And that is why power isn't held by an individual. Russia may be considered as running a democracy cause they hold elections in which the people appear to have a say in who governs them but the actions of the present government tends to say otherwise. Laws are being put in place to silence and tighten the grip the government has on the general populace. The news media is heavily censored and citizens cannot have accurate news but propaganda that the government spreads in order to deceive the people.
Too much power shouldn't be in one individuals hand cause most likely, there would be misuse of that power.
Power corrupts but absolute power corrupts absolutely
Actually you must have heard that old saying that Opposition is the 4th pillar of democracy besides Parliament, Executive and Judiciary. If any of The 4 pillar is missing it can't really be called a democracy and this is really the situation of Russia right now, it has no genuine opposition in reality which is why Putin is continuing as a President for this long and this is why his powers are immense and he has no real threat to be overthrown.
1045  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation and investment on: April 15, 2022, 06:34:26 AM
We all know that almost the entire world is currently experiencing variable inflation, and my country is no exception. Almost all goods prices have gone up, financial stability has been disrupted and most of us have had to incur additional costs to pay our bills due to rising tariffs and taxes.

At the same time I am still thinking about investing even though I am really having a hard time achieving financial stability at the moment. If previously I could save 50% of my total income for investment then for now only 25% seems difficult. If you are also experiencing this condition, then I have a few questions to answer.

  • Will you continue to invest even if it is only 10%-20% of your total monthly income?
  • How do you achieve financial stability during this inflation?

Share some of your thoughts, I think it would be good to consider especially as long as this kind of condition persists for a long time.
The only way to increase financial stability in this time is by either increasing your income from the source that you are making or increase the number of income sources that you have, apart from that there is no 3rd way, i feel it's unfortunate to see how inflation has panned out in recent times and is clutching savings almost entirely. I feel no matter how much you crib about it eventually there is nothing you can do about it, you'll have to surrender youself against inflation and remain financially stable by increasing sources of income.
1046  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🔥 BTC365.com 🔥 IPL Prediction Pool 2022 & Discussion(Participants Only) on: April 14, 2022, 06:20:54 PM
Pandya was on fire with the bat today, not supporting Gujrat but his form is good sign for Indian team. He's also looking as far as his bowling is concern so its a bonus.

Butler also putting up good show here. He and Pandya both are competing for Orange cap tonight. Funny to see Ashwin at number 3, batting with Butler lol. Hope they don't run out each other.  Grin Grin
I was stunned to see GT post 190+ since I expected them to score something close to 175+. Pandya was amazing towards the end. Buttler played well too while Samson getting run out was a game-changing moment.

RR has already lost 6 wickets and they probably will lose by a decent margin at this point. Looks like my prediction was wrong this time around.
RR team is very good no doubt but it's batting looks overdependent on Jos Buttler, today Jos couldn't bat till the end so the team didn't even manage to reach close to the final Target, in bowling also Kuldeep isn't able to do a lot of things which bring overdependency on Chahal only, GT on the other hands has multiple in form players Pandya, Gill and Miller, and this Abhinav Manohar guy too is really good in batting, GT looks a strong contender for the playoffs this time. MI must be crying in the corner for letting Pandya go.
1047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Safest browser for Metamask ? on: April 14, 2022, 06:04:29 PM
Firefox ? Chrome ? Brave ?

Kinda worried because all of them try to collect information about your activities online. I've purchased BitDefender AntiVirus, and taken some other precautions but... can never be too careful as they say.
Metamask is generally very safe, unless someone is snooping into your laptop using some Remote desktop software like TeamViewer there are no chances of theft from your wallet. Browsers might collect information but until installed from genuine source it won't snoop into you while writing your password to metamask, also even if it does, it won't be able to do a transaction on its own when your pc is left unattended, so in my opinion all the browsers are pretty safe in this context. Chrome Firefox brave and even Edge.
1048  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is going on ? In crypto ? on: April 14, 2022, 05:24:47 PM
The way everybody understood is this
I buy coin and check everyday it goes up but now it dont move and bull traps.
So wich coins grow everyday ? There is no such a coins?
And why nobody dont create the growth coin that will have large suplly but the supply will getting smaller by the time and coin never fall just going up so everyday i wake up and earn money thats what we need in crypto so passive income everyday and coin is growing and growing.

Nothing is this much linear as much your are expecting, coins go up and them come down and then again go up, bullish movement always requires a few bears to liquidate so that whales can sell what all they have accumulated, this has always been a normal market cycle, but what you have to believe is in the longer run this will always grow, if you get good coins market is never going to end for you, go for a longer term investment and you'll easily see the results you are expecting.
1049  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which trading indicators/traders would you recommend? on: April 14, 2022, 05:20:24 PM
Hello Bitcointalkers,

The subject of the thread is pretty self-explanatory, I am wondering which tools would you recommend for spot trading in particular.
This can be a very varied question. One can have a just 2-3 basic indicators in his view and still can achieve great heights in trading and on the other hand someone might have like 10 indicators but is still losing all his trades, for me personally I feel keeping a MA band of around 3 MAs covering all the time frames and RSI along with a Momentum indicator liking MACD is enough for you, rest play is with pivot points, quantitative data and patterns.
1050  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can anyone recommend me a safe place to store my bitcoins? on: April 14, 2022, 05:16:16 PM
Can anyone recommend me a safe place to store my bitcoins?
Trezor brought from official store is undoubtedly the safest place to hold your bitcoins, not only it provides maximum security but it's easily portable as well and keeps you safe from hazzles of losing your private key because even with a private key one cannot access your wallet until the hardware device is with that person. But if you are not in for spending this much money a simple electrum wallet will be good enough as well, it will serve your purpose of storing coins and keeping it safe, just don't forget the private key and you'll be good to go.
1051  Local / India / Re: India's Crypto Trading Volume Plummets After New Tax Rules on: April 03, 2022, 06:42:58 PM
So far I don't see a lot of effect of this thing on the daily volumes of WazirX, if you see the highest volume pair that is the BTC/USDT, there was a sharp selling volume on the 31st when the provision was to come into effect, but after that since last two days volumes have been pretty much decent, here is the image of the BTC USDT pair chart

and I see volumes in March even more than what we were having around Feb end and march beginning, Also the INR/USDT pair is trading at a premium as compared to dollar which too is a sign that the Indian market isn't dried up so far. Let's see what happens in coming days especially after the TDS provision kicks in which looks really draconion.
1052  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🔥 BTC365.com 🔥 IPL Prediction Pool 2022 & Discussion(Participants Only) on: April 03, 2022, 06:29:50 PM
After four consecutive wrong predictions my prediction have turned to be right. Myself a supporter of Chennai Super Kings believed it isn't the match of CSK. Few of the reasons that striked me are the winning luck, lack of bowling and the fielding mistakes of the previous match. In the previous match it was the match of Chennai, but something happened opposite due to the catches dropped by Chennai. In today's match too myself expected the same, fortunately Chennai didn't batted first.
Lack of bowling is one big reason CSK are losing matches, if you see there was not even a single bowler in the first innings who was able to bowl very nicely, Initial wickets also were more of lucky wickets not some great deliveries, pace department looks too young only Jordan is there and he doesn't have a great history on Indian wickets. Even batting also does contain big names but their suns have really set now, Ruturaj & Faf Du Plessis were the only reason why CSKs batting looked flawless the last season and they could win the title last season, this time Faf has left the squad and Ruturaj's form looks nowhere near the last year mark, people would say that Dhoni's removal from captaincy could also be a reason but trust me it isn't, because Dhoni still has a lot of say on the field from what it looks on screen. I am sure he must be having a lot of say in the dressing room as well with Jadeja, his oldest chap as the captain.
1053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin closing it weekly cap on above $46k on: April 03, 2022, 06:22:37 PM
Bitcoin within the last week have shown a strong recovery movement, this thread is not about the bitcoin price speculation that is why I did not create this thread on speculations but decodedd to create it here on Bitcoin discussion. With the sole aim of attracting short term discussions on the recent Bitcoin movements which have seen bitcoin making some strong recovery moves and right now seating at $46,600 price in the face of Russia's Ukraine invasion which has gotten the mainstream media attention lately, bitcoin was able to make such great recovery which has set a new phase for the entire cryptocurrency market. What are.your thoughts on the present Bitcoin situation.
Price is in a big flux right now, anyone who is saying this is start of another bull run, is too new in the market to understand the market dynamics and is soon going to lose a lot of capital, on the other hand anyone saying we are just setting towards a bear run has never ever been optimistic about bitcoin in his life, truth is no one knows what will happen next, bitcoin is stuck in a range between 40-50k right now, only if it will break over 55k you can say we might see another bull run and only if it closes below 30k we can say that welcome back to the bear run, anything in between can still be called a sideways movement of the market which bitcoin is doing right now.
1054  Local / India / Re: Increase crypto tax from 30% to 55% on: April 03, 2022, 06:09:03 PM
80% of Indian MPs are like this only, they have their decades-old educations (which too I doubt they have) and centuries-old hypotheses and moreover, they are rigid in their views and not ready to update themselves on upcoming innovation, It's all because of the bureaucrats that they have under them that the country is standing and still working if it was up to these people country would have duped a long time back.

The honorable SC of India itself stated that any activity can be declared as gambling only when the outcome is based upon sheer luck, while in cryptos you can see tons of people making money based on their skills. Moreover, if he is so confident why doesn't he file a writ into the HC saying that Crypto is gambling ban it. Because he knows he lacks the facts to do so. Apps like Dream11 have also now been stated as "Not Gambling" while this gentlemen thinks crypto is gambling.  Grin
MP's I understand but, what about the bureaucracy? They are the one who were supposed to understand and come up with a solution. What they did now in the form of tax is only destroying the community. Most have either offloaded their holdings and some are planning to in the coming days.
I think bureaucracy is the only reason it has not been banned yet. See bureaucracy is there just to assist the government it cannot shape the opinion of the government, governments come up with their own ideas which they want to get implemented and that's what bureaucrats do, Government of India currently has an opinion that cryptos foster money laundering and can be a threat to them in long term so they are doing their best to discourage usage of cryptocurrencies as a whole, moreover bureaucrats also have their notions but yes they see things from other perspectives as well, so if a person things bitcoin is bad for the monetary system and should be banned, second thing he will see is can it actually be banned in any way??
1055  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is MicroStrategy planning? on: April 03, 2022, 06:03:30 PM
I assume we all are aware of MicroStrategy and incase if you are not then you should do a google search or check their website. They claim they are a business intelligence software company which I have no doubt when I read about them investing heavily in Bitcoin. Now, the fact, they have accumulated more Bitcoin to date than those that will be mined over the next hundred years of mining the first Bitcoin.

A single entity that is constantly accumulating Bitcoin and is also able to acquire loans from financial institutions using Bitcoin as collateral to buy more Bitcoin leads to suspicion. One thing I am sure they will be controlling the USD value of Bitcoin in the future and this might not sound alarming for many here but it can be very bad if they side up with financial institution.
Honestly speaking, this is dubious since the very beginning, it's okay to buy a few bitcoin in your portfolio as a company just to make sure you have invested in all types of assets but a company buying bitcoins solely for the purpose of investment and that also when the company isn't itself an investment company is very shady. The next thing is I really didn't know that they are now starting to buy bitcoins using by taking up loans and putting bitcoin as collateral because this generally is risky for that bank as well. The total worth of bitcoins that MicroStrategy holds is more than 5.3 Billion dollar and it still is committed to buy more, this will obviously lead to too much centralization of bitcoin. Also I am very sure they are not buying it for investment because if it is for investment then Microstrategy could have a hard time selling off these bitcoins when it comes to realize their investment.

But yes one con I see here for MicroStrategy themselves is that if they continue to buy more and make it centralized, eventually the other holders are going to give it up seeing it's utility getting over and then it will be really difficult for microstrategy to maintain it's price.
1056  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Few Tips I learnt from trading that blew my account. on: April 02, 2022, 07:22:23 PM
These are few challenges faced when I newly got into trading, which I think I should share so people who are new traders should know.

[4].Don't outsmart the market :
market does whatever thing it wants to do, so don't be too smart wait for confirmation.

This is actually very important to understand and is often misunderstood, people should understand that market knows everything and it has discounted everything, you should never be like my analysis is 100% correct it's just a small deviation we will be back on track soon, these sort of things are what actually lead to your failure in the market. Think of market as a giver and be the taker by obeying the rules, the moment you want to outsmart the master you are tricked into losses. The biggest example of such a thing is holding onto a losing trade which is clearly visible as bad. People think that there analysis was right market will retrace for sure but forget the fact that market is what is always right if you hit your SL just get out of the trade.
1057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency will not save Russia from sanctions on: April 02, 2022, 06:31:39 PM
Considering the numerous restrictions on the Russian Government they are still strict measures on every transaction that is displayed on the Blockchain. Any huge amount of money moved into a wallet will be flagged and checked if it's headed to the Russian Government. And it'll be difficult for Russian Government to convert a huge Bitcoin into Fiat as well. Do you think they can get around the corner and still escape the numerous financial restriction on their country through Bitcoin or altcoin

https://www.aljazeera.com/economy/2022/3/1/crypto-will-not-save-russia-from
This was pretty obvious. Even if it is headed to the Russian Government and not tracked, the amount we are talking about here is in Billions, how do you think is Russia going to convert billions kept in cryptocurrencies to fiat just like this only? How will it find a buyer who is willing to give them rubles in return? They definitely cannot directly approach any exchange for the money, this in itself was a stupid hypothesis until and unless the lenders are ready to take back their repayments in cryptocurrencies but even that won't happen because most of the lenders would be sovereign banks, who too would face the same issue.
1058  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🔥 BTC365.com 🔥 IPL Prediction Pool 2022 & Discussion(Participants Only) on: April 02, 2022, 06:23:46 PM
Bet on Rajasthan who performed admirably against a strong Mumbai side. Kishan and Tilak looked like they would seal the deal for Mumbai at one point, but their luck finally ran out thanks to Boult and Ashwin.

Mumbai need better bowlers and I have no idea why Sky wasn't playing since I just found out that he was declared fit for this particular game.
Mumbai is slow starter but yeah without SKY their batting line up looking shaky. He should return in the squad soon by replacing Anmolpreet Singh (he's wasting opportunities).

They are actually short of 1 overseas bowlers but they already knew this when they got the Archer (unavailable for this season due to injury).

I think MI and CSK are kinda building their squads for future seasons.

I missed out on everything today.

Edit

Oh i guess not everything. I got the points with default pick.  Grin

I think SKY will be back in the next match, I was even surprised not to see him in this match as well because I read Zaheer khan saying that he is fit to play but wasn't in the team. Maybe SKY can solve the middle order problems for Mumbai Indians but the bigger problem is the bowling attack, there is no one to bowl along side Bumrah in the death, on one end you saw today Bumrah protecting runs while on the other end there was huge leakage of runs. Thhampi also isn't in his best touch this season. I think it's better to try maybe Unadkat or Meridith instead of Mills or Thhampi in the next match. MI has to improve the bowling performance first.

1060  Local / India / Re: Anyone here got IT notice for being involved with Crypto in FY 2012-13? on: April 02, 2022, 06:04:49 PM
The source of this information states this is ED notice while the picture looks more like an Income tax notice. But coming to the fact, this can't be recent, if it is recent then this is fake because IT department cannot reopen cases from 2012-13, this will become a time-barred assessment, moreover, even if the IT department opens up any case, it can request information only of a certain year, it cannot go beyond that very year, if it has to go then it has to open up the cases of the other years as well and for which he must be having solid grounds of misreporting of Income. I think this is fake only, also since last couple of years we are getting notices via the income tax portal only because of introduction of E-assessment this might be very old if it's true.
