1041  Economy / Gambling / Re: Top 5 Advantages of Bitcoin Casinos vs. Traditional Casinos on: July 13, 2023, 03:10:35 PM
The only difference between a Bitcoin casino and a traditional one is that the tokens used in that gambling game have become digital or cryptocurrency. And the second difference between them is that Bitcoin is online of course and it's fine even if you're at home.
in Traditional casinos you have to go directly to their site platform literally. Also, the traditional game is something you can see and touch in person, while with bitcoin it's not really via online.

You mentioned the differences between online casinos and traditional brick-and-mortar casinos. That's not what this thread is mostly about. The OP was interested in contrasting Bitcoin/crypto casinos with conventional online gambling sites; sites that were already in existence prior to the emergence of digital currencies like Bitcoin. For example, the advantages of cryptocurrencies when depositing and withdrawing money, and the emergence of the "provably fair" concept which allows players to verify that the casino is not tampering with their results.

KYC procedure had been failed by this user, and the withdrawal is paused due to this reason, but had been approved later;

Could you please provide more information about why the KYC procedure failed in the first place? Was there a specific issue or missing documentation that led to the initial rejection?
This would help us to understand if it is a valid complaint from the player or not.
1043  Economy / Gambling / Re: 😺 RollCat.io 🚀 Provably Fair 🔒 Crazy Multipliers 🎰 Free Hourly Coins 💰 on: July 13, 2023, 01:12:11 PM
The first thing I noticed when I first landed on the site was that it has a rather simple UI. Maybe a bit too simple for my taste, but hey, that's just my subjective opinion. After all, it's the games that matter the most! Speaking of games, the site currently features only one game that I'm sure many of us are familiar with - spin the wheel. Yes, it's a classic that never gets old, but I would still like to see a selection of original casino games that some players may prefer better. One thing worth mentioning is that while they don't require KYC verification, they do ask for user registration. Perhaps that process could be streamlined a bit to make it even more convenient, so instead of email reistration we have unique url tokens that we can use to access our session.

Now, I must address a concern that some have already raised. It seems that there might be an issue with slow withdrawals, and unfortunately, there isn't a dedicated customer support available on the live chat. Let's hope the site administrators are already aware of these concerns and are working to address them as soon as possible.

It's interesting how casinos care about your identity, source of funds, etc. only if you win. You can lose millions and they will not ask for any documents.

Yeah, it's quite amusing how casinos suddenly become very concerned about your identity, and all those formalities, but only when you start winning. On the other hand, you could lose millions, and they wouldn't bat an eye or ask for a single document. Quite a double standard, isn't it? Of course, we can understand that they are businesses after all, and profit is their primary goal. So, they will do everything in their power to safeguard their financial interests and maximize their profit. However, what's truly unfortunate is that regulators permit such practices. Yet, considering they have a stake in the profits as well, we shouldn't be overly surprised.
1045  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Having Difficulties Withdrawing Funds From Crypto Website. on: July 13, 2023, 11:14:38 AM
Is this normal?
Now I'm going to have to create a new bank account at a different bank.

OP, over two weeks ago, multiple members told you that it was a scam site and advised against depositing any funds there. However, you insisted on your claims, citing YouTube videos about trading bots and the potential for making significant profits. At one point, you even argued that the site couldn't be a scam because you were able to withdraw $10,000 back to your bank account. And now you're saying that you're facing difficulties in withdrawing your funds? So, I have to ask, what is the issue here? Why can't you realize that you've fallen victim to a classic scam and won't receive any money from them? Why do you continue to create new threads about the same issue when multiple members made it clear to you that it is a scam site? What are you trying to achieve here?

I for one am excited about the addition of ETH and XMR! Should be some good times ahead and hopefully some faster growth comes with it, too.
Yes because we can easily mixed from Bitcoin to ETH,  XMR and vice vassal This is a big addition to anonymity privacy and control,  I for one will love to try that out right away if it available or I will look forward to when that feature is fully implemented on the site.

Indeed some exciting time ahead!

That's going to be an interesting feature, really. I don't think there has ever been a crypto mixer that offered instant exchange integrated into the mixing process, to be honest.

For the most part, I've avoided using instant exchanges primarily because of high fees (at one point, I even thought about developing my own instant exchange that wouldn't charge any fees at all and would perform coin swaps based on the current market price). Let's just hope that Whirlwind won't charge high fees in their case and that using the mixer with the coin swapping option will still be more cost-effective than going through a traditional exchange.
1047  Economy / Reputation / Re: Someone Loan using My Account on: July 12, 2023, 07:15:38 PM
Why don't the forum set a warning when a different ip login as they do for password/ email change and waking up  this will make the other party try to verify the account owner first.
!warning this account used a new ip to login date ****
In that case even if someone trying to fake a hack it won't work  Tongue

That's a bad idea. Lots of people have ISPs that give them dynamic IP addresses, meaning their IPs change every now and then. And, as mentioned earlier, let's not forget about those who use VPNs or the TOR network to access the forum for legit reasons like privacy and security. This means that legit users who have no ill intentions could trigger false warnings simply due to the nature of their internet connection. So, if the forum starts setting off warnings for every IP change, it could end up causing a bunch of false alarms for regular users.

You write you don't care about loans or money of other people but your feedback history shows you had a loan in this forum in the past.
<cut>

If you're talking about the feedback from bL4nkcode, that was actually a loan to bL4nkcode, not the other way around. Peanutswar was the one lending the money.

1049  Economy / Reputation / Re: I'm tired and angry about Timelord's behavior and his alt/puppy on: July 12, 2023, 12:40:15 PM
Timelord2067 pissed me off with this story that I'm a scammer.
<...>

Regardless of your personal views regarding the user making the accusations, you should address the serious allegations against you in the "Known Alts of any-one" thread. As far as I can see, Timelord2067 has presented some solid evidence that you might be an alt account from a previously banned user P2Pfinder. Just like examplens pointed out, the current situation is significantly more serious than the previous case involving your connection with alterra57.
1050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Croatian League - Hrvatska nogometna liga 2022./2023. on: July 12, 2023, 11:08:56 AM
Perišić is still under contract with Tottenham for the entirety of the upcoming season. Given his professionalism, it seems unlikely that he will terminate the contract prematurely. It is most probable that his return to Hajduk (as he had previously promised) will only occur in 2024, when his contract expires and he becomes a free agent again.
1051  Economy / Reputation / Re: Someone Loan using My Account on: July 12, 2023, 08:02:51 AM
@shasan, with all due respect, to what extent are you responsible for this tragedy?  Sure, Peanutswar didn't secure his account, but what efforts did you take to make sure the loan you were issuing was going to the same person that built that account?
Tbh, I am surprised that this hasn't happened earlier (or maybe it did?) since he doesn't ask for signed message like other lenders are doing, which I thought is a standard here.

What's weird to me in all this is that even after this has happened, he continues to give loans without taking extra measures so something like this doesn't happen again. He can of course do his business as he sees fit, but imo that's just unnecessary risk.

I have a sneaky suspicion that this might become more frequent in the future. Neither Peanutswar nor Woodie seem to have any idea (or they're not willing to share) how this happened, and mdgabrielzim remains silent about it. The first two recorded loan attempts were unsuccessful, but the third one went through. If the scammer has an effective technique for compromising other users' forum accounts, it's reasonable to assume that he will try it again.

If shasan, or any other lender for that matter, continues to give loans without conducting proper due diligence, it will inevitably result in significant consequences sooner or later. However, I suppose that decision ultimately rests with them.

Wallets isn't accessible
Do you mean there's a wallet generator in their interface and it generates a new wallet upon order then he gives them that wallet private key manually as notes? Why? As long as they need it why not recorded internally? If it's the case return to prev question why then paid and to who?

Actually, it seems I was wrong about that part in my previous reply. Such a system of notes has not yet been implemented and is planned with the introduction of ZK based Notes:

With the introduction of the ZK based Notes we won't have this issue anymore because the user will be the only person to have access to it, same as now, but the difference is that in the ZK Note case there is no way we can ever do something about it because your deposit will be one of *Anonymity Set value* deposits and we would have no way of knowing if you withdrew already or any other detail. If you lose it, it's on you.

I made the wrong conclusion, and I believe I've read other comments stating the same thing, suggesting that such a system is already in place.

So, are you with or against the address staking idea? You can't be with it but against this guy issue unless having no morals.

Staking your address on this forum, in my opinion, holds little relevance in this particular case. Yes, it proves that the user indeed owns the address used to deposit funds on Whirlwind. However, beyond that, it doesn't prove anything else.

The whole case boils down to the user's claim that he lost access (private key) to the funded note and can't retrieve the coins. However, besides his words, there's no concrete proof to support it. But, even if he manage to prove it, it's still not Whirlwind's responsibility nor their obligation to compensate for the lost funds. Whirlwind notes are a non-custodial type of wallet, so it's unreasonable to hold them accountable for the loss of funds.

Dude right now the clearet is down again.. in my case i saved clearnet private key and clicked to go to deposit page and it went down, i now opened the onion key, noticed the key began with same letters as clearnet page (first 2 letters), i assumed it will be same since it was same browser.. i clicked to deposit, i deposited and got stuck because the way the ux is, there is no way to proceed to withdrawal after a deposit. i messaged support, maybe there is a proceed button im not seeing, and support didnt even bother to reply... How the fuck am i wrong!

You are wrong because, as you admitted yourself, you assumed something that was clearly not the case. I don't want to go into the details of how clearnet and TOR domains work, but that was a very wrong assumption. Moreover, even if you were using the same browser and opened a new tab on the same domain, your notes would still be generated with a new private key. (I just took 15 seconds to check it myself.) So, I'm baffled as to where such an assumption about something so crucial comes from.

Your second mistake was not saving the private key (and double-checking it) BEFORE depositing the funds, which is explicitly stated on the website. It's as simple as clicking a mouse to download a text file, so there's no need for manual copy-pasting into Notepad.

And finally, you're also wrong in expecting Whirlwind to bear the loss (even if it's a relatively small amount) due to clearly YOUR mistake. As I said before, even if we assume your story is true, those funds are now inaccessible to anyone, which doesn't change the fact that Whirlwind already paid that amount once. So why should they compensate you twice for your mistake?

FUCK YOU

THANK YOU!  Cheesy

Well, now I know better. I won't reply to any PM from him next time and report it as unsolicited PM spam right away.  Smiley

Different people have different opinions. If you are here long enough, sooner or later you'll come across someone whose opinion differs from yours, or vice versa. And no matter how solid your arguments are, no matter how right you may be about a particular issue, if the person you're arguing with is dead set in his/her opinion and won't budge from that position, you'll never change his mind.

What to do in such a case? The same thing you would do in real life, if you were in a similar situation. Walk away, or if that's not possible, just don't engage them after they've made their point. You're not going to change their mind by arguing with them (or by calling them names), so there's no point in doing so.

Sometimes people tend to be nice, even on this forum, weird, I know Smiley

They say you have to look a man in the eye to know if he's telling the truth. Well, that's a bit tricky in the online community. So, even when people seem nice, keep your guard up and watch out for their hidden motives.  Wink

Edit:
Just to clarify, this is meant as a general (slightly sarcastic) perspective and not as a personal reflection on any specific person.

Well, I saw a whole community against one person so I decided to jump in and make the fight fair. If admins can prove its an alt you are welcome.

So, what's your take on what went down and what exactly should WWM have done in this situation? I'm not sure how much you know about what happened, but I recommend giving the last few pages of this thread a thorough read to get a better idea of what's going on. Have you ever considered the possibility that this person might be wrong, and that's why they don't have the support of the community?

If this happened with a famous member here they would have been licking his balls while resolving his issue.

I don't believe that to be true, and I doubt that you have an example of such a situation ever happening.
1056  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Keystone 3 HW coming soon! on: July 11, 2023, 09:36:27 AM
After Ledger's little lie, I consider all hardware wallets to be collectibles only.  Fool me once, shame on me (in this case, because I was warned).  Fool me twice....ain't gonna happen.

The thing I like most about Keystone is its fully air-gapped (no WiFi, BT, NFC, 3G/4G, etc.) approach. Even to update the firmware, you have to use an SD card, and you can't do it via cable. So, even if some stupid executive at the top of the company hierarchy decided at some point to follow the Ledger route, they wouldn't be able to do it with the current hardware.

They have developed an open QR code standard for interacting with wallet and signing transactions, which is starting to be accepted by almost all software wallet developers. I like their "sign only what you see" attitude and using QR codes is exactly what we need for a cold wallet. Of course, this has its drawbacks because the wallet must have a camera and a screen with a sufficiently high resolution, but I think it's a good compromise between security and usability.

-snip-
Before you make the suggestion, maybe you can also trying to following the topic trend + try to overview the account or case of the account you're mention.
- mdgabrielzim last active was (30 June).
- Woodie trying to make a requested loan with that address for 900$ and getting rejected. However, Woodie it's self questioned the loan 900$ by saying to the thread that's he don't make any loan requests. It's a clear indicator that, someone got access to his account after that incident he told "shasan" to only give him a loan with signed message. I also checking his "BPIP" on the same day he send that message, he changed the password (got move from him, since that unusual activity from his account).

But still, It would be great if any of them could come here and share more details about the incident. Taking control of someone else's account is a serious issue, and it would be good to learn more about the circumstances. Were their computers infected? Did they unknowingly click on suspicious links?

After going through the entire thread, I still don't understand what really happened.
1058  Economy / Lending / Re: loan 500 € on: July 09, 2023, 08:26:58 AM
then you can go ahead and talk like this to all people who lend money here on forum  "because also they have wages and do have a job"   so why do these guys loan money?

All I'm saying, remember when you were really in need of a $500 loan? Well, it's been almost a year and a half now, and you're still in the same position, asking for the exact same loan. A wise person would have figured out how to handle things on their own by now. Can you honestly say you're not capable of saving just $1 a day?

i have a monthly wage   i get   so i can pay back from my wage    and i can send you the wage documents  if needed

In that case, instead of seeking a loan, why not take matters into your own hands and build up your savings?

Think about it. By stashing away a portion of monthly wage, you could easily save up that $500 in the year and a half that you've been begging for a loan here. We're talking about less than $30 a month here. Seriously, can you honestly tell me that setting aside such a small, insignificant amount each month is beyond your reach?

Noted: I only read the thread created by op which is the first page I did bother to read thread pages by page to see the new update of the thread, I taught that  it's a fresh issue which everyone is entitled to make its personal contribution to the thread, what you corrected me of, is true, i will be reading a thread page by page some that I will understand properly the point or discussion of people before I intrude into conversation

Please don't take offense if my comment came across as a bit harsh. Of course, everyone has the right to contribute to the thread. However, I think we can agree that we often have to sift through a plethora of low-quality posts to find valuable information, especially on the Gambling board. It's like searching for a needle in a haystack and it can be quite frustrating at times.  Wink
