Ok... seriously now people... this doesn't hurt crypto, and nor would no action. It hurts VRC.
But, VRC is effectively dead in the water now, because the blockchain ledger can't be trusted. And if you can't trust the ledger to not have mass blocks orphaned, the coin is as useful as dirt.
The most plausible explanation for today's events: - MintPal fucked up with offline wallets or something similar - MintPal lost access to or the private keys for the coins - MintPal claims a hack with no proof - "Stolen" coins just sit there, unmoved... ya right, they weren't stolen, they were lost. - VRC devs come to MintPal's aid, alienate the intelegent parts of the crypto community, but somewhat save MintPal's face.
Later: - VRC blockchain can't be trusted. - VRC buy volume sinks to nothing. - VRC network crumbles and slowly fades away.
Good theories. If the coins are stolen, they could be dumped anytime and I would grudgingly agree with a fork. If the private keys are indeed lost, this is a + for VRC and makes it even more scarce and I would disagree with a fork. We need some proof of coins being stolen.

Funny how vested interest turns Crytpo into some kind of religion for some people. You can't even make one little critique without being accused for blasphemy (FUD). If you really believe in VRC long term, you should be encouraging FUD so you can pick up more in the 0.0001's.

MintPal fucked up... it's not the VRC community's responsibility to fix this. MintPal needs to cover the lost coins out of their own pocket - PERIOD.
If the VRC devs try to push a roll back, this coin is worse then dead in the water. Obviously, if a rollback like this is possible, the blockchain cannot be relied upon as a fixed ledger, and therefore the coin is useless.
Does this mean that VRC is not fungable because they regard the stolen coins as bad or tainted? I do believe the fork is good for the "stock price" of the coin, due to the imminent probability of 8 million coins being dumped at any given time.

Woah, saw the big drop on bitcoinwisdom charts and loaded up Mintpal to buy up cheap. It's delisted! Come here to see if fundamentals brought it down, seems all hell is breaking loose.

Bitcoin bank? That is a contradiction in terms!!!! Yea, I had to read over the article a couple times for it to sink in what it meant.

Isn't it obvious that the next catalyst that will cause the price of BTC to increase will be when the winklevos etf starts. As soon as people can start purchasing "COIN" I predict the price of BTC to go to the moon and beyond. We should all be paying very close attention to this.
Winklevos gonna get beat by Second Market's fund. Then a few weeks from now, NY will create regulations for the first Bitcoin exchange. So Winklevoss' fund will likely be old news once it hits Nasdaq.

Bitcoin value set to surge according to expertsSpeaking at the Coin Summit in London yesterday, Geoff Lewis, partner at the Founders fund, estimates the value of the Bitcoin will skyrocket, "I'm really bullish when there is low volatility" but stated that there will definitely be a rise". Millionaire investor Roger Ver, dubbed 'Bitcoin Jesus', told the Telegraph: "I actually think $2000 is a pretty conservative estimate. "We don't know if it will happen this year but there's no doubt in my mind that Bitcoin's price is going to be thousands of dollars and, almost for sure, tens of thousands of dollars for one."...

I would've picked up more BTC at 610 but don't have enough in my account. It's payday this week and it'll show up in my account after 3pm today. Could be a blessing in disguise and BTC drops sub-600, but my experience is payday tomorrow brings out a fresh set of buyers.

Wow, had a feeling those returning from vacation would buy up the cheap coins.

Max pump was in BCX eg... he wrote "BCX pump time" and in one hour price jumped 11x... i made such Eyes Oo. Btw BCX had 5m premined so pump ended in hour - true story.
I don't like how Max keeps pumping Maxcoin as a sound investment, eons after it has been dumped. I stopped following his Twitter feed a few days ago because of the #maxcoin promotions. Beyond his self serving pumps, Max is a smart guy and an entertaining host & guest.

Wow, VRC taking a bath! 385 support broken. Also penetrated 369 support. 0.00036 it will be deep bath back to 0.0003 or deeper dude they are dumping all that shit Charts say somewhat of support around 34'ish but relatively strong around 30'ish. Hate to bump this stupid train image but looks like the 34 support broke from yesterday's low...

Hangout review. The previewed renovation of the site looked cool. Can't say I was impressed with the FIAT wallet. Was hoping to buy BTC with a debit card and bypassing the 5 day waiting period from Coinbase. But that's not going to work. Basically, they said it'll forward you to the moolah.io portal. Wha....

Jail is similar to a mad max situation.
No internet, no bitcoin.
But I don't agree with no Internet for jailbirds. If you've ever had to watch over kids, they become subdued once you give them a tablet.

Satoshi is emerging in the Alt exchange forums as the unofficial unit of measure.
mBTC is too high a unit.
