1041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: February 04, 2017, 04:16:23 PM
It was the final I wanted, Rafa Nadal vs Roger Federer, what a classic match, unfortunately I lost money because I went for a Nadal win, but at least I had fun watching the match, you can't always win... it was really close.

Considering Rafa is still 30 and Federer is 35, it proves Rafa has at least 5 more years to become number 1 again with realistic possibilities.
Well yeah many would have gone for Nadal to win the match as he was in ultimate form ( Better when compared to Federer ) but Roger just gave his 100% and luck favored him many times but it was one hell of a match and a fantastic final . Happy for Roger and as you said Nadal still has time , I am sure he will get to top soon.

Luckily I didn't gamble a lot of money on the match. It's also really interesting to look forward for more Federer performances. He is 35 already and rich as hell, has demonstrated that he can still win major tournaments, so we will see if he has the motivation to keep playing at top level.
I wish i would have waged a small amount of money at the beginning of the Australian open as no one expected or predicted this to happen in 2017 and the tennis world started off with a surprise with Federer winning the tournament and Venus Williams reaching the finals and facing Serena Williams.  Roll Eyes
Well after Federer won the tournament he stated " I didn't expect to be here playing against Nadal in the finals " so yeah not only the gamblers , experts , the players themselves didn't expect it . Can't say the same with venus though as she is in good form and there were good chances for her to reach the finals.

Sure Roger won ,and already started talks that he will be on final masters of this season even if he dont play, interesting is that will do it. Second part of this season will be for him good, why? He didnt play last season second part due to injury so he might be in good position in the final masters at the end of this year.

I think Roger should give it a last try to win a couple more tournaments. When you place 1st you get extra motivation to keep going. He may be 35, but he is in good shape, and as far as I know, he does not suffer from any injuries. On the other hand, Nadal is 5 years younger and he is carrying injuries since ages ago, i think he is worse shape than Federer.

I asked for some deeper analisys and he just copy pasted me what the PascalCoin thread says.

I would like to know something else. Of course that the dev himself is going to sell his coin as the second coming of satoshi himself, but we need more.

No, you asked some very basic questions.

It's built from scratch, doesn't depend on operations history (that's pretty big) and its addresses are very short, allowing people to remember them easily.

That alone answers all but one of your questions.

Yeah, sounds like a pump and dump to me. Thanks for the verification my dude.

Again, it's built from scratch, doesn't depend on operations history (that's pretty big) and its addresses are very short, allowing people to remember them easily.

There's nothing vague about it. Nor there are any red flags that would make it a p&d.

But where are the tradeoffs? there are always tradeoffs. Is it as safe and secure as bitcoin's pow backed by the strongest network on earth? because i doubt it is.

If it was as safe as bitcoin, faster than bitcoin, no scaling problem... then it would have a higher marketcap than bitcoin, but it doesnt.
1043  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling vs Real Gambling on: February 04, 2017, 02:06:57 PM
Real gambling is more fun because you meet with friends have some drinks an gamble in the real machines, gambling online is more comfortable but its boring and you can end up losing a lot of money because its way easier to waste money online than you would in real life, so i think real life gambling is the best thing.
1044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Pascalcoin offer something new and exciting or is this just another p'n'd? on: February 03, 2017, 06:45:15 PM
Why did this coin pump so hard? Does it have anything groundbreaking to offer? Does it solve anything Bitcoin can't do? what are the pros and cons? What's the catch here?

When something like this happens, it's only two options:

1) The coin is offering something new that attracts investors
2) The coin is another baseless pump and dump shitcoin

What do we have here?

If you'd read the first thing about the coin you'd know.

PascalCoin is a new cryptocurrency written from scratch, and is designed to work without an operations history, yet is able to control double spending or check balance. Instead of storing balances on the blockchain, PascalCoin offers a safebox system similar to a bank account.

Pascal Coin is a cryptocurrency for humans, not only for geeks

Since its account system is very similar to a bank account by design, PascalCoin is an easy to understand and easy to work with cryptocurrency. Through easy to remember account numbers instead of cryptographic addresses, everybody can have an overview of how it is designed.

Address example in Bitcoin: 16K3HCZRhFUtM8GdWRcfKeaa6KsuyxZaYk
Account example in PascalCoin: 12345-54

During the Age of Enlightenment, coffee houses became the center of innovation. Wonder what people will say in the future about Bitcointalk Altcoin section?  Roll Eyes Damned if you do, and damned if you don't... huh Shelby? Wink

It would be indeed cool that the next big thing in crypto was presented here in this mess of a subforum. You get all that sea of shitcoins, then suddenly and very rarely you get some good projects. Don't get me wrong I love this forum, it's like the wild wild west or a jungle, you go with your machete looking for the big treasure, but there are tons of beasts trying to steal your BTC in the process.

It would be cool that a coin makes us rich because it's actually something solid and not just some random short lived pump and dump.
1047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Giving up gambling is not easy on: February 03, 2017, 03:41:56 PM
We know for an addicted gamblers, isn't easy to instantly quit for good. For others, losing too much and they will stop.
But you should try to stop expecting to earning through gambling, first.
Then, find another profitable activities or allocate your energy to something else such as sports or learning something new.

You are right if we stop thinking that gambling is a place of gambling then we will not go there for money and if someone want to earn money only from these gambling sites then he have to start his own casino online or offline as only that is the business in gambling while playing is not a way to get money but is a way to get entertainment.

This is the main problem of all gambling addicts, they think they can make money with gambling applying different strategies or using their "skills". That is an awful way of thinking which often lead to awful consequences.

In some games like poker you get to develop skills that are really useful for other fields in life, but in most games of gambling you are just going to develop an addiction and nothing else, if you are not able to control yourself and do it casually, those people should never gamble at all.
1048  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any place to gamble IF the Mayweather vs McGregor fight will happen? on: February 02, 2017, 11:51:54 PM
I would be so scared to watch this fight, because if Mayweather for some reason gets KO'd (it can happen) it would be the end of his career. I mean I think people is not really considering the massive risk that this is for Mayweather. McGregor is not even a boxer and expected to lose, so Mayweather has all the pressure. People are not valuing that enough. It would be a total success if the fight happens, I will buy a ticket for sure.
1049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think "iamnotback" really has the" Bitcoin killer"? on: February 02, 2017, 06:24:29 PM
Will there be a 2 million coin instamine like dash had?

Im pretty sure he is smart enough to not instamine anything, since that is an instant KO for the project. Even announcing that you are reserving a % of the supply for the development is usually not seen as positive. The ZEC model is absolute trash with the 20% one, but even the 1% of byteball is controversial. I understand that developers need funding but it would be ideal if it's kept 100% clean just like bitcoin.

If this is indeed anywhere near as good as a bitcoin killer im pretty sure anyone getting in in the early days will make a killing so im pretty sure the dev will be one of the first to mine/buy (im not sure if there is even mining with this coin)
1050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to spot a gambler addicted? on: February 02, 2017, 04:50:35 PM
I have been in the gambling game for a long time now and i have been in Vegas numerous times because I have friends that live there and sometimes we go there for some casual gambling. It is easy to spot addicts because they are always there on working days, it's like they somehow have unlimited money, they are always are sitting there inserting coins on the damn machines.

Other than that I dont know how you would spot an addict.
1051  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Where can I see the recent Gmaxwell talk? on: February 02, 2017, 01:56:28 PM
Big G did a talk recently on CoinDesk’s Construct 2017, apparently good info on elements alpha and addressing other topics, i would like to listen to this since he is a pretty good speaker and im too lazy to read big ass walls of technical data that i cant understand. This was a good video to understand what elements alpha is:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pyVvq-vrrM

So i would like to see this 2017 more recent talk to see what is going on nowadays.
1052  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit = Losing money on: February 02, 2017, 12:59:38 PM
Wrong, Andreas A and everyone worth listening to are advocating for segwit:
https://twitter.com/aantonop/status/821016551075639297
lol
This is precisely what I was talking about.  "Andreas likes it, therefore I'll do it too".  Fucking sheep doesn't even know he is a sheep.  Are you a moron?

Notice how you are too dumb to counter-argument Andreas, so you just call people that agree with him "sheep" instead of actually refuting the pro-segwit argument. Get lost you buffon, you wish to know as much as A.A about bitcoin.
1053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think "iamnotback" really has the" Bitcoin killer"? on: February 01, 2017, 07:46:43 PM

Byteball was an important one for me to study. But that was a rare incident.

I saw you talking positive about byteball and it's creator. Do you think it's a good buy right now? Considering it's not on poloniex yet... who says we don't see another Pascalcoin tier pump? It is 19% right now, Pascalcoin saw an huge 4000% pump. Of course, there is the risk of it getting dumped as soon as we hit Poloniex missing on an opportunity to buy cheaper..

Anyway, if you could be holding the right alt that pumps bigly you could get rich and then use this money for your project and treatments, so I think it's worth looking at those coins. We all know any shitcoin can pump all of a sudden but it seems coins that offer something interesting have higher chances to pump.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/byteball/

From a speculative pov what you think?

Anyway I hope you can continue working on your project soon. Let's get rich as fuck ASAP.
1054  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [PASCALCOIN] How It Increased By 4800% Yesterday? on: February 01, 2017, 07:17:50 PM
The Polo effect is in full effect on this one guys.

Kicking myself for not buying OTC when I had so many chances...

Can't win them all, but I think I'll win when Polo adds Byteball

Does Byteball add anything worth anyone's time tech wise to the table, or you are just betting on another Polo shitcoin pump? I know Iconomi did an investment in Byteball. What about the ICO token itself, can this get on poloniex too and pump hard eventually? Looks like it's the game to play, but most coins never pump this hard, they just keep stagnating in Poloniex.

Damn, I thought Pascalcoin added something worth looking at, but is this really another Fibrecoin tier shitcoin pump??? they claim to solve the double spend problem without a blockchain and whatnot? wtf.
1055  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any place to gamble IF the Mayweather vs McGregor fight will happen? on: February 01, 2017, 07:08:46 PM
As interested as I'd be if this fight was to happen I just don't think it will. All the beef is for the cameras I think.
It'd be a pointless fight any way, Floyd would win in a boxing ring & Conor would take Mayweather's head off in the Octagon.

How is it pointless when it can generate the most money ever generated on any fight ever? Get real, this is a business and the fans want to clearly see this fight happen, therefore the possibilities are real and there is a point: entertainment (and a lot of money to be made). My bet is we'll see something this year or next year too.
1056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best way to store Iconomi tokens and get dividends paid? on: February 01, 2017, 05:11:29 PM
God this is so complicated.

Myetherwallet and mist are both offline wallets?

Can somebody care to create a youtube video explaining how to properly store your ICN offline in a way that you will get paid dividends once it starts working? if they give a shit about their customers they should be creating those videos, nobody wants to read a wall of text nowadays, just give us a step by step video in how to do this.

I personally don't want to download the ETH blockchain, it's too big and I have enough by having a Bitcoin Core full node. I don't care that much about ETH or its tokens, i just dont want to hold them in an exchange.
1057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] CoinMarketCap Needs to get their shit together ? on: February 01, 2017, 05:01:32 PM
I guess the guy running that website got lucky by coming up with it first and getting a lot of traffic, because I assume that this guy is getting paid a lot of money by altcoin developers to list their coins there, so even the biggest shitcoin can get there as long as the devs pay him. Can't blame him, everyone likes to make money with as little effort as possible, sitting back and watching shitcoin pump and dump devs pay him to promote their coin seems like a plan.
1058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So who the hell is still supporting BU? on: February 01, 2017, 03:47:31 PM
Get real, the only thing not tested here and proven to fail is BU.

xt, classic, knots, BU and others are already running on mainnet and have been for months/years.

funny part is. core based pools have a 1% reject/orphan risk everyday..
BU caused one once in a year.

but social drama made a mountain out of a mole hill about a non event.

its a non event because rejects/orphans are a natural thing. its what protects the network

rejecting a block is a good thing. it shows consensus works. it was not a fail event. it was something that happens daily (more so by core pools) and should be applauded that rejects occur. because it shows the network is secure.

Yeah im sure franky1 the resident troll with 11k+ FUD posts against Core and Blockstream know much better than Andreas Antonopoulos someone that actually does research and gets out and talks to people instead of posting on forums 24/7 about how great of an idea it is to put in charge a bunch of idiots that would depend on Core keeping updates of the software so they can copy all the hard work and paste it within BU/Classic/XT/whatever.
1059  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling get you into Bitcoin or did Bitcoin get you into gambling? on: February 01, 2017, 01:01:40 PM
when something is comfortable and there is money involved you can end up going broke.
Yes, this is what happening right now with me in bitcoin gambling. When everything available for ease and with less efforts then we are getting addicted to them due to frequent exercise with them. I was into gambling before bitcoin too but not that much frequently. Now I gamble more due to easy payments with bitcoins and I am addicted to it.

That is why going to the physical casino is better, you have to get dressed, take shower, and drive to the casino, so it takes more effort, also if you lose a lot in public look like an idiot, so you aren't going to take stupid risks.
1060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ZEC vs ZCL, what makes one better? on: January 31, 2017, 04:43:01 PM
I have tried finding this topic but haven't

People hate ZEC because of the dev fee that is only 20% over multiple devs, and is only limited to a certain number of blocks. This is small compared to the massive premines seen on many other coins still up and running. ZCL is a copy of ZEC without dev fees

Why should I expect ZCL to be worth more than ZEC in the end? Is there any key differences in the direction of the development between these 2 coins?

It's good that devs don't keep sucking out money from the money supply, they should search for alternative funding methods, but ultimately it's just the same coin.

What we need is ZEC privacy without the big disadvantage of having to trust devs into deleting the masterkey which is ridiculous.
