You can add it Bitcoin God, Chandler's Guo (a big miner in china) fork that he will release "as a christmas present for all bitcoin holders")

https://themerkle.com/what-is-bitcoin-god/

Quote
Not to be confused with Bitcoin Jesus, Bitcoin God is an actual alternative form of Bitcoin which will be created on December 25th. The goal is to introduce this fork at block height 501,225 on the Bitcoin network, which is expected to be mined around Christmas Day. Given that Bitcoin’s mining difficulty will increase in a few hours from now, that date may be off by a few hours or even days. It all depends on how many miners will stick around.

The news regarding Bitcoin God is brought to us courtesy of Chandler Guo. He doesn’t appear to be the main creator of this fork, though, as he simply shared a message from a chat conversation explaining this concept to non-Chinese Twitter users. There are a lot of different opinions about how Bitcoin should operate, and the Bitcoin Core camp is shrinking pretty quickly, by the look of things. So far, though, none of the hard forks have even made a dent in Bitcoin’s overall market position.

Whatever, im just letting these forks sit for the time being, too lazy to have to move coins each time I want to access a damn fork. I will dump them all eventually.

I didn't catch the Lomachenko vs Rigondeaux fight. Lomachenko is a massive and underrated talent. That's the impression I get from watching his previous fights.

One interesting thing to note, I think Vasyl Lomachenko has competed in sambo and wrestling in the past and done very well in both. There's a chance Lomachenko could make a move to MMA to fight in the 125 lb division against Demetrious Johnson. If Lomachenko was bigger he might have fought Conor McGregor in MMA.

I was thinking Conor McGregor's career could be over after he suffered cardio issues in his 1st fight with Nate Diaz despite not cutting weight to fight @ 170 lbs. Physically there could be something wrong with Conor that is hurting his cardio and his career might be over.

I don't think Loma should step into the octagon... unless he gets a massive payday, I would stick to what I do best (boxing) and then just keep racking up victories. Having to train MMA can be too distracting from your ongoing boxing career and you don't want to mess with your track record. But like I said, if the money is right... I guess it would make sense, but I doubt UFC can offer bigger deals than showtime boxing.

Btw Mayweather has left a rumor of him doing a 3 or 4 fight contract with the UFC for a billion dollars recently... he could be trolling or not who knows.

Is he serious?  A fight contract in the UFC?.  Lol.  I would happily pay  to see get his ass get kicked and handed to him.  I hope somewhere along the way he'll face McGregor in the octagon.

That guy doesn't know what he getting into...  But to his credit, if he was 10 years younger and with the proper training, I think he can do it.

Who is to say? he is an huge troll, you never know when he is playing or he is serious about it. I think he is just letting it in the air, he will monitor how people react... then he will make the right moves.

Honestly, it doesn't sound that bad. If the money is on the billions... it's a couple fights, and your boxing record would still remain perfect. If he losses at MMA so what? he is still a boxing legend.

The problem I see is, if he gets brutally beaten up by some of the MMA barbarians.. it could make his whole brand look bad, even if his boxing record remains unmatched... that's something one should leverage and see if it's worth the billion dollar payday in the long term.
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there anyway of speeding up a wallet syncing? on: December 15, 2017, 04:49:10 PM
You could try checking out the network activity here:

https://i.imgur.com/acbKYWE.png

Im assuming your client has this since it looks like a bitcoin-qt or bitcoin core fork judging from your screenshot, so click on help, debug window and then network traffic tab:

https://img07.rl0.ru/6aca0a19d4d4d1b6b9154abe65c69f22/c837x471/bitcoindaily.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/bitcoin-core-debug-window-guide.jpg

And if you are seeing green lines then you are on a doing ok. If you don't see green lines you aren't downloading anything which could be due lack of peers.. so contact developers for that.
144  Economy / Economics / Re: Managing crypto investments as an index fund. on: December 14, 2017, 04:48:09 PM
The problem is all these damn altcoins just can't keep up with Bitcoin's growth. I don't care about making more USD, I want to improve my BTC holdings. Very FEW coins are going up against BTC.

For example:

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/blocknet/

This is an interesting project I was following. It has pumped, but look at the price against BTC... it just keeps going down even if the USD goes up. Fuck that.

This is what you want to see in a pump:

145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is there anyway of speeding up a wallet syncing? on: December 14, 2017, 04:37:12 PM
I'm using the hempcoin wallet for windows from their website and it's taking forever to sync. It has connections but doesn't actually seem to be going down the blocks. (I can see it's using my internet for something)

I sent some THC to my wallet thinking it was sync'd and now the balance isn't showing, the address which I sent too has lit up but I've had the wallet open for days.

Any idea how to speed it up so to get the coins showing?

I have no idea what "hempcoin" is but I predict you are using the full node client that's a fork of Bitcoin Core.

Well, on that case no, there's no way to speed it up, other than getting better internet connection, a better computer to validate nodes faster, and try to improve your connectivity by opening the adequate ports. If there aren't many peers on hempcoin's network then that could be a problem beyond your reach.

You could try to find out if there are some SPV wallets available for hempcoin (similar to Electrum for BTC etc)

147  Economy / Economics / Re: Influence of FED Action on Bitcoin on: December 13, 2017, 04:45:51 PM
How FED actions like interest Rate hike (fast or slow), Balancesheet Normalisation (reducing Dollars Circulation in Fast or Slow Rate) influence on Bitcoin ?

Bitcoin will go up as people move their funds (fiat, equities) into Bitcoin.  I don't see how any normal maneuvering of the Fed can influence Bitcoin. The US dollar is considered to be a stable currency. If the US were to experience double digit inflation then we could see a massive move to crypto. By massive I mean a 2% - 5% move of fiat holdings to crypto.

I guess the FED will try to make some moves to incentivize cashing out money out of the crypto ecosystem (mostly Bitcoin) by changing rates so all these people nervous about a potential bubble say "oh well, I guess USD is looking good again... time to sell". But on the long term, it will be clear that staying on BTC was the right move to increase your wealth (and in the meantime due volatility a lot of people will get shaken out). We all know how USD works. The debt will never stop growing, no amount of changes will make USD a legit savings account. You are not going to get rich having money on your bank account. I believe BTC is a good risk:reward bet.. nothing is guaranteed, but what's guaranteed is money in your bank account will never make you rich like I said. Only the rich are making enough money by holding USD. If you hold 10 million USD you can live doing nothing.

Looks like nobody made a thread about Lomachenko vs Rigondeoux fight... not many boxing fans here?

Did anyone bet anything on that? I did and I won, just a bit for fun, to make it more exciting. I trusted Lomachenko to continue with his win streak. He made Rigo quit. The hand thing looked like an excuse. Loma is just too skilled, and maybe too big for Rigo. I think haters now are stopping to consider Loma a hype job... I think if he keeps winning big names he will be considered one of the best of all time and a boxing genius. It's early to say tho.

Wow I was reading iamnotback's comments and remembered r0ach, almost forgot about this guy. Where did he sell again? like under $2000? and went all in on metals? what a fuck up. Gold's not looking too good for the time being:

Not many support lines after that. I hope that small green candle is the start of a recovery for these still holding gold. And the weekly chart looks even worse. It's below the 50 day moving average approaching the 200 dmv.

Good luck with your investment goals in 2018.
He sold under $600 but says he didnt basically all he did was he sold all his btc then had some alts and sold them for btc so he had a tiny bit of btc left not sure of he sold that but he did go ballz in yet has odacity to try to tell people he didnt lol anyone with 2 peas in their head can his shift in sentiment aswell as downward equity trajectory. Well some people arent meant to see success and become their own biggest enemies this guy is a perfect example. Fails to see the forest from the trees. Roach got exterminated but still hangs around trying to convince himself that metals are a savior to our banking system heh.

Oh fuck, $600? that's unfortunate.. wasn't he a whale? That's crazy. And like I said... gold just broke that floor and it's going lower, it's not looking good to be frank.. but at this point, I don't know what I would do if I was him. Selling your gold position at a loss would suck, and getting back into BTC right now with the risk of a big correction happening would suck, but you could also miss the breakthrough to $20k+ and further moonings, while gold goes down to test $1123.. and who knows if that is broken below $1000? (worst case scenario). We'll see. Im just holding BTC for the time being, and still researching altcoins in the 1% chance that I miss an actual hidden gem worth investing some at.

Some good news (or rumor) for McGregor fans.  According to former UFC fighter, now MMA pundit Kenny Florian, a bout between Ferguson vs McGregor will happen on March!  Finally, we can see these guys throw leather!  And is it just me, or has McGregor's 'mystic' and his being 'invulnerable' slowly going away?

I think Ferguson has a good chance here.

Conor McGregor finally defends title against Ferguson in March?

Here's a nice Mindsmash video.  Enjoy.

Conor McGregor Vs Tony Ferguson | Strengths & Weaknesses
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Madn1swph94

I can't wait to see Conor McGregor again in the octagon, I just hope his mindset is not destroyed after losing vs Mayweather in the ring... he has been doing some crazy shit like being involved in some mafia stuff, or he wanting to right a ref in Belator. I hope he isn't doing coke and fucking hookers like crazy as he did after his Nate Diaz loss. He was able to come back from that, I think he will come back from his last defeat and he'll beat Ferguson.

I just saw Aldo vs Holloway yesterday, and it was a good fight but what the hell was Aldo thinking at the end? he thought he was Mayweather with all these dodging, but he ended up eating too many punches.

And Overeem vs Predator... insane uppercut. Overeem went to sleep and should wake up thinking about retirement, but he says he will continue fighting. I hope he doesn't end up like Crocop.
152  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BCH kill BTCSegWit while reinstating BTCSatoshi? on: December 11, 2017, 04:04:15 PM
I've seen a lot of people that got liquidated badly during the past few hours:

https://twitter.com/bitmexrekt

Some lost $millions because they thought, "oh futures are up, just go to short this all the way down below $10k with my wall street buddies", instead massive liquidation ensues as we almost hit ATH. Now waiting to see where this ends. 6h candle keeps going from red to green.. still many hours to see what happens (double top then pullback or pop to new ATH)

Did you ever get around syncing a trb node? it must be so slow to do it from scratch, I think it could take a month. Does it have a wallet? what's the difference from using a regular node and just ignore segwit transactions?
153  Economy / Speculation / Re: This won't end well on: December 11, 2017, 03:42:24 PM
Lol shorts got blown the fuck out again, specially those that were looking forward to short bitcoin below $10k hoping for a scare due future's market's opening, but oh what a surprise, it actually pumped near ATH levels.

Now let's see if this is now one of these double tops with a classic pullback or we actually go for a new ATH. Still many hours to go before the daily candle is closed, if we can close above $16667 I guess we'll aim for higher highs. Who knows if FOMO kicks in and we actually hit $20k before 2018.

155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoKitties proves Ethereum and it will only get better. on: December 10, 2017, 03:38:59 PM
Here is a chart showing the growth in transaction numbers on the Ethereum network, prior to and since the introduction of CryptoKitties.

https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/ethereum-transactions.html

Also

Ethereum has approximately 22k pending transactions as can be seen here:

https://etherscan.io/chart/pendingtx

And Bitcoin has over 210k pending transactions as can be seen here:

https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions

Yep but Bitcoin has monetary transactions. Ethereum on the other hand ends up with its network pretty much offline due massive flood of retarded usage such as CryptoKitties or buying into the latest ICO mega hypejob.

Also there is a lot of spam going on in Bitcoin:

https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#30d

Some of that doesn't seem like organic transactions to me. But the good news is they lose money doing that and eventually subside.

The point is, having use cases like "Cryptokitties" on a main chain instead of sidechain is just insane. Main chain should be for straight simple money transactions.
156  Economy / Speculation / Re: Plateau move or Phase Transition followed by crypto winter? on: December 09, 2017, 05:12:37 PM

So I'm left wondering... Bitcoin is a technology. The infrastructure is already in place for it to be used - smartphones. There are already existing paradigms that adults of all ages can use in order to make use of the system to make transfers.

Automobiles required roads, fuel and maintenance/repair support systems. The telephone needed vast stretches of cabling. The Internet required computers and communication hardware to be widely available. We are now in a period of Facebook, Instagram and WeChat where sudden and rapid user growth is a matter of software installation. The rails are already here, and general populations are starting to take interest.

Crypto (or at least PoW coins which are the only coins I would consider safe thus far) also have a problem of infrastructure...:nodes. You need a decentralized network of nodes. If your blocks are huge, then your transactions are validated by some corporation. If we all had affordable super computers ahead of the demand of transnational volume, we could run huge blocksizes at home and always be ahead of mainstream adoption's demand curve but that's not how it works unfortunately.

Same as mining infrastructure with it's centralizing problems.. etc.

So you either pay increasingly bigger fees for onchain transactions, or pay a tradeoff in a less-than-ideal transaction if you want to cater for the masses demands. Maybe this tradeoff cannot ever be avoided because it's some sort of physical limit? (like the speed of light or whatever). That is the trillion dollar question. If someone comes up with something that keeps your track record as safe as a strong PoW network without all the negatives then it would be a real bitcoin killer. What are the chances of this happening anytime soon? I would say rather low. Until then you have to live with what you have, and BTC is what we have. If this real bitcoin killer that defeats it on every department shows up, we would get rich as fuck since we would be the first to know about it (we would know at least in practice, since it doesn't work until it's in the wild, holding billions of a marketcap and not blowing up, but let's say it works in theory then on practice). Sounds too good to be true, so for the time being, you better hold some BTC, with it's cons and pros, it's what we have thus far. The other altcoin proponents have always some weaknesses that simply don't cut it and wouldn't justify mass exodus from BTC to them. Speculation is wild when some of these show up. Just see IOTA. You could have turned 1 BTC into 10 BTC the other day, during BTC's bull. It shows there's a demand for a "bitcoin killer", but like I said, in the long term it goes back to BTC since there isn't such thing yet.
157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will IOTA Moon Again? on: December 09, 2017, 04:56:15 PM
can someone ban this spamming shill already

every post is more iota spam and pump

byteball is better than iota and about 70x cheaper??

Indeed, I don't see why Byteball can't go up big time. If IOTA can, then Byteball can, they are both in the same "we have solved Bitcoin's problems without a blockchain, we have fast cheap and decentralized payments here" train hype. I think IOTA has made a way better job in marketing.

The big problem with Byteball is that the distribution depends on some Russian guy not stealing the coins, because he makes the airdrops, it is pretty lame to be fair. I don't know how IOTA distributed all these tokens in the network. This is the problem of non PoW coins, distribution of the coins system is just weak.
158  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will IOTA Moon Again? on: December 08, 2017, 04:21:02 PM
Those who followed my orders made lots of profit erly this week. But will the hype return and will IOTA moon again?
WHat do you think?

The marketcap on this thing has gone from a bit less than 1 million bucks to 15 million bucks in it's peak two days ago... logically, it should correct, but then again, this is crypto. What I can I say? I wish I bought. This coin was going to pump hard sooner or later, because it has that "the next big technological innovation in crypto" marketing thing around it, similar to EOS which is also got a nice pump. I saw quite big youtubers shilling this one. But then again, I also saw Tauchain back then being shilled by some big youtubers and also had the "this is a revolution in crypto technology, trust us" hype around it and it has gotten nowhere.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/agoras-tokens/

You would have been losing your BTC while it pumped against USD, not interesting to me.
159  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Bubble and the fact you simply can't sell your BTC for large amount?! on: December 08, 2017, 04:02:47 PM
It's not bitcoin's fault that the verification processes on exchanges are slow and tiresome. It is what it is, you have to wait, specially if you live in bahamas. Needless to say, you will regret not holding one day tho, I think 2021 is a good long term hold goal if everything goes well. I would never cash out 100% of BTC holdings, and I think by 2021 it would be possible for an amount like yours to be sold 50% and retire in fiat terms while holding 50% on BTC indefinitely. If BTC actually gets to 1 million bucks a coin one day, I don't want to be the idiot holding 0.
160  Economy / Speculation / Re: This won't end well on: December 07, 2017, 04:12:09 PM
This will end pretty well actually. The ones that will not end well are most of the shorters. For every 1 that nails it, 10 lose their shorts. I know people that shorted at 2k, 5k, 10k... well you can imagine how they are doing right now.

Will it crash? yes, but what are the chances we go below our entry points? If you have a strong hand and you aren't a total newbie that just entered the market, we can deal with an huge correction, as long as the floors keep getting higher, progress is progress. FOMO's happen, it comes with the territory. Just remember to accumulate when people start calling Bitcoin dead again.
