1041  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The official MacMiner thread [BTC/LTC-CPU/GPU/FPGA/ASIC] on: January 12, 2014, 09:04:40 AM
Just switched over to MacMiner and loving it. Using MobileMiner as well and everything is working like a charm. Just wanted to thank you!

Dear Whales,

My birthday is on Wednesday, and my grandmother gave me $250 to spend. Please bring the price down just long and low enough for me to get at least half of a bitcoin.

Thank You!

(I am not joking)

Whales

*to be sung to the tune of Royals by Lorde

I've never seen a Casascius in the flesh
I cut my teeth on doge coins with the groupies
And don't have no vanity address,
In a torn-up town, no QR code envy

But every post's like alt-coins,
Bit Fog, trippin' on the Silk Road
Blockchains, ball gowns, hashin' the mining boom,
We don't care, we're driving Lamborghinis in our dreams.
But everybody's like Bubble, black hat, bitcoins on your press release.
Jet planes, islands, tigers on a gold leash.
We don't care, we aren't caught up in your love of bears.

And we'll never be whales (Whales).
It don't run in our FUD,
That kind of luxe just ain't for us.
We crave a different kind of buzz.
Let me be your p2p pooler (pooler),
You can call me BTC
And baby I'll pool, I'll pool, I'll pool, I'll pool.
Let me live that fantasy.

My friends and I—we've cracked the  code.
We count our millbits on the train to the party.
And everyone who knows us knows that we're fine with this,
We didn't come from crypto.

clap clap.... well done!

I'm not sure what you mean by "battling litecoin and bitcoin" as these two will most likely not be overtaken by any current altcoin. Namecoin maybe, due to its use, but it would "battle" btc and ltc only if btc and ltc become banned by major countries.

Anywho... Good luck with your crypto!
1047  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: which altcoins will become as popular as bitcoins? on: January 12, 2014, 05:08:16 AM
'Gridcoin' - come on, you shouldn't be promoting ridiculous unheard of coins!

It's simple stick to BTC!!! if you must dabble in alts go for LTC, PPC and ANC.

 Angry

Agreeing on the altcoins!

Namecoins will be the most useful of the altcoins, Litecoins will be the most popular.

Hi everyone, new comer here.

Just heard about bitcoin/altcoins ( I know im late) and thought id join up and get involved Smiley

It's never too late! People in 2012 thought there were late compared to the 2010 an 2011 adopters. Wait until this goes full on mainstream!

1050  Economy / Speculation / Re: No coins and needing to buy back in on: January 12, 2014, 04:55:27 AM
If it hasn't dipped before the 31st, buy back in then, there is still a good chance of a drop before then.

If we reach ATH before the 31st, buy back in, as the train will be departing with or without you.

1053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Overstock.com's News on Accepting Bitcoin, Underwhelming Price Boost. on: January 11, 2014, 08:26:45 AM
Buy the rumor, sell the news.

You are looking for a price rise too soon, probably will not be for another 2 weeks once new money is finally in, from the people buying this news alone that is.

1055  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Why are people drawn to GHash.io, and how can we reverse it? on: January 11, 2014, 08:03:48 AM
If any pool had the ease of use of bitminter, with the lowest fees, and would advertise with mining manufacturers as the "go to place" it would take over.

What I'm looking for in order:

1. Ease of use
2. Consistent payouts (Larger the pool the more consisten.. You get larger by advertising you ease of use)
3. Fees (Some pools are 1%, that's cheap to me. So paying it over 0 isn't that big of deal)

I would feel more bullish if the term BYUING was around in place of HODLING.

HODL just shows that fear is still amongst us.

After reading the other pool threads, it seems ghash.io is stealing all the luck lately.

I figured some power would have left these past couple days. It doesn't look like we've picked up a bunch of workers.
