1041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am pretty confident we are the new wealthy elite, gentlemen. on: October 17, 2015, 05:05:08 AM
I have never seen a boom and bust that wasn't perpetuated by government involvement. Bitcoin is immune from such things.
Tomorrow, the UK & USA decide to make investing in Bitcoin illegal, punished by life imprisonment.

Suddenly, Bitcoin crashes and becomes obsolete. Government wins.
USSR banned dollars but it didnt stop them being used anyway.   I dont think its that simple, it depends on the bitcoin economy outside the reach of the ban.   Bitcoin is banned in some countries usually where dollars are restricted in their circulation
Also you have to weigh the usefulness of bitcoin between people in that banned country territory.  If somehow the currency saves them alot of work, stops losses from their flawed national currency then you have alot of demand and people will find a way usually.  Bitcoin wallets I think can be passed on usb sticks if need be though it requires more trust, its possible distribution continues anyway even if it were possible to restrict from any live network

yes..ban something and it goes down in value, eg drugs.

I think my coins went through from Vircurex!

I am very happy about this as its har d to get IOC in bulk, and Inmho, its the one to watch, as launch seemed to be scam free.

Also of course XPM/PPC/NXT are great (yes I hold a few of them)

XPM has been one of the few coins delisted from eg BTCe ( a largeish exchange) and has recovered in volume etc.

1043  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gentlemen, i think it's safe to say we're the new halving elite on: October 17, 2015, 04:20:30 AM
halving can really have only a minimal effect, as it is priced in, being completely known.

I think what happens is over shoot just before, under shoot at time of, then goes up a few months later as the realization dawns there's just so much less BTC around.

1044  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will bitcoin reach 500 USD again ? on: October 07, 2015, 09:42:25 AM
100$ 200$ move in BTC price in not that much, and happens easily
1045  Economy / Speculation / Re: How is it possible to squander $18 millions ? on: October 04, 2015, 04:00:05 AM
What I have always wondered is what has Vitalic Butlerin actually personally dev'd? / coded?
1046  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is low volatility becoming a threat to Bitcoin? on: October 04, 2015, 03:51:54 AM
low volatility is good as it demonstrates BTC can be as stable as any other currency/commodity whatever.

If fact the BTC has be stable than many currencies over the last few months

1047  Economy / Speculation / Re: What are possible scenarios for the block halving? on: October 04, 2015, 03:49:18 AM
every 1/2 I have seen seen to be to have the price discounted/accounted in before the 1/2 ing and so drops a bit after.
1048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [I0C] I0coin - The Best Choice In Digital Currency on: October 04, 2015, 03:46:13 AM
vircurex robbed me of i0 a while back --- i hate them

How much i0 did you lose?   So far it has been just a couple 10k blocks which could be a mistake given others have taken off hundreds of thousands of i0coins.

As for a class action suit.

Vircurex is in China.

Soooo...

There won't be any class action anything.  It would be like poking an angry burning bear with a stick.  lol

Just fill out a ticket and email them and hope for the best.

eh it will be fun to sue in china, they are actually a lot better now days in commercial issues.
1049  Economy / Exchanges / VIRCUREX not returning coins on: September 30, 2015, 12:01:40 PM
Vircurex is not returning coins when with drawn, nor are they responding to emails to their help.

see

Ok, so now we have 3 different guys stating they never got their i0 back?  At least most of it?

Anybody else?  Please speak up so I don't start raining on innocent people again.

It is very strange to hear that you have gotten your BTC Back but not your i0c

One plausible explanation for smaller quantities - and 10k i0 is pretty small considering, is the fact that disks have to be defragmented and when that happens people will get their bigger shares back but the smaller amounts take some time or may be lost.  The other guy I talked to who is very reputable had no problem withdrawing hundreds of thousands of i0 but then he wasn't able to take out his final 18k coins which sounds the similar to the issues others are having.

I'm curious if anyone had problems removing say 100,000 i0 or more.  Something significant like that.  And can you provide proof so we don't wrongly accuse Vircurex?

Finally, has anyone here had similar problems withdrawing other alts from Vircurex or is this problem isolated to just i0?  That would be important information to have so please share that info if you have it.

Cheers!

i don't care how the do it, if they have screwed their wallet, then they have to to another exchange and buy i0c back.
1052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [I0C] I0coin - The Best Choice In Digital Currency on: September 29, 2015, 09:48:19 PM

1053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [I0C] I0coin - The Best Choice In Digital Currency on: September 29, 2015, 12:07:07 PM

Edit: What happened to all the posts/rants?

I got confirmation from a few reputable posters that they were able to get their i0Coins off Vicurex without issues.  Hundreds of thousands of i0Coins with only a few being stuck there.

Without any other individuals coming forward I concluded that the guy who said his coins were stolen or stuck on there was most likely either a small amount or an isolated event.

That said, I felt it was best to delete my posts since they were overly aggressive and provocative.

Cheers!

Good man Vlad  Wink

So I just tried to send out my I0C

test a small amount no worries it went TXID

then send my main amount and no TXID appeared, not on block chain

This is the only time this has ever happened what gives???

Sent  ticket to help desk
1054  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: currency or investment? on: September 17, 2015, 04:51:17 PM
BTC is sui generis/de novo

much like email is an aspect of the internet, it is not the internet....

investment, money, commodity, are all aspects of BTC but they are not the entirety of BTC.

1055  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING: Atlanta based Bitcoin giant BitPay hacked for nearly $2,000,000! on: September 17, 2015, 04:45:19 PM
so there is 2 mill $ less of BTC than previously thought around.....looks like less supply available.
1056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: September 17, 2015, 11:27:00 AM
It was indeed a really big pump and dump action. I didn't think that this would be possible for a (actually) well-distributed coin like NEM :/

It would be nice to see how the richlist has changed when the pump and dump is over.

Is it spreading XEM or is someone accumulating them?

just pump and dump NXT clone

No. Not really the distribution was good, far better than almost all other coins. Also my understanding of the code base and parameters are far different to NXT.
1057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gets Equal Billing with Land, Cash, as "Safe Haven" on: September 11, 2015, 08:37:24 AM
one of the features that BTC has over land cash or gold, is if done correctly it cannot be seized and is immune to court writ or law including capital controls.

This is a massive massive advantage versus any other asset class ever as far as safe haven goes.
1058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone still think NXT is a scam? on: September 10, 2015, 07:25:50 AM
Please vote and discuss

something very odd happened a few months before NXT.....is was sorta beta NXT, idenintical to first release in many ways some appeared saying I can do this with java etc released a beta and said that works then disapeared...later NXT came out.

The dev of nxt and what it can do, are  I think impressive.

Bitshares seem to be the main rival.

I still prefer Peercoin for large transaction single objective high value x-actions though, and the way it was launched and run.

Also I like the Peercoin community and Sunny king.

The NXT community and dev are also pretty good asfaik.

1059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitShares 2.0 - Just the Facts Thread on: September 06, 2015, 03:19:39 PM
whats advantages does bts offer over say NXT?
1060  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase co-founder claimed it takes seconds for a transaction to confirm!!! on: September 03, 2015, 10:16:59 PM
he just probably means zero confirms...and is talking to the masses.

I mean zero confirms....you kinda have to be in BTC for a while before that makes scene.
