10421  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud Hosting companies ? on: March 23, 2016, 05:42:00 AM
I'm looking for companies that gives Cloud hosting and of course I need to pay using BTC , I'm looking for a good one, legit & trusted .
(It will be for a wordpress blog In case it matters to know)

We offer some pretty cheap hosting.  If it's just a wordpress blog, you could get by with our $0.95/mo plan.

We're in the process of implementing a Bitcoin gateway, but if you're wanting to pay in Bitcoin you can PM me and I'll give you a Bitcoin address which you can send the amount to after we have set it up for you.

Let me know, our most recent and official BitcoinTalk post is here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1408777.0

Thanks,
Adaryian

I'm not saying that you are a scammer or not trusted or anything but I was looking for more a "company" then an individual advertising on the forums , I'm planning to run my blog for long term so I can't afford getting my blog down so I need something rock solid and known for long time .
beside , I "CTRL + F" and I can't even find the term "cloud" .

I have a MC from E-coin in USD. Is it possible to load it from PayPal? Cause I can't seem to have the option to order a virtual visa card from E-coin.

When they first started , they was giving Visa cards which you could link with your Paypal account (and withdraw Paypal funds to the cards) But now they are only giving MasterCard which means .. NO you can't do that anymore . I feel lucky that I started using their services at the beginning.
10423  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Remains Most Popular Digital Currency on Dark Web on: March 22, 2016, 12:34:24 PM
It's a known fact and we also can't deny the fact that the Darkweb in general give a boost for Bitcoin price . (Silk road for example)

Do you have funds just sitting in your PayPal? Use them to buy bitcoin! We are happy to announce the ability to buy bitcoin with PayPal for users in 37 countries including Chile, Estonia, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Malaysia, Morocco, Philippines, Turkey and dozens more. Click here for a full list of supported countries and a tutorial of how to buy bitcoin with PayPal.

Now I'm from Algeria as I said before but I have and I use your virtual card , I'm going to be able to buy using Paypal or not ? I mean does this service read our IP addresses or something or he read the country on our Paypal accounts ?

Hello,
Well, nothing is reading your IP address. However PayPal is checking your billing address - if it does not like it, you will not be able to link your card. + as far as I know PayPal in Algeria has some limitations which make usage of our card impossible. Though I do not know this for sure, you can double-check this with their support.

I was able to link without any issues (I used it when It was visa) , I'm just asking about your new feature that allow us to buy Bitcoin using Paypal ? do they read my IP to know where I'am ? because the email I received says it's only available in few countries .
10428  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Why is my bitcoin synchronisation SO SLOW on: March 22, 2016, 07:32:39 AM
You are basically downloading the blockchain file which have like ~40GB in size so It's pretty much about the Internet speed .

Are you sure, i have read on many places that it's because you client needs to verify all the blocks... i'm pretty sure a decent internet connection can download 40 Gb in less than 2 weeks?

EDIT::

it took me about 8 hours for the full sync, you need a strong cpu and a strong ssd, i don't know if you can do even faster with an m2 like the 950 pro

Was this with 0.12.0? Granted, my server was also busy doing some other stuff, and it only has 1 standard SAS disk (i think 10k rpm), but it still took me 3 days to do this.

Well It's related to CPU as-well but Internet speed is needed as-well since you are downloading at the beginning  .
Also I'm not sure I'm getting the OP right , Is he talking about real-time weeks or weeks that appears while sync with the network ?
10429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Why is my bitcoin synchronisation SO SLOW on: March 22, 2016, 07:26:45 AM
Hello !

I wanted to run the client on my raspberry pi. But i am running it first on my pc.

Heres the thing, it has been one week and it is still not done. It starts to become extremely annoying.
It needed 4 more weeks and the next day it said 2 weeks. Is it normal that it is so slow ?

It does download and stop then i think it is processing the downloaded blocks some how.
Can i make it faster ? Or do i have to buy a better pc.

Also if it is already so slow on my pc it will be completely useless on a raspberry pi ....

Regards,

10433  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Useful Desktop Applications for Bitcoin ? on: March 22, 2016, 07:01:53 AM
I would like to have a widget on my desktop (or in the navigation bar) where I can see the price of a couple of coins. The tool should allow to configure three, four or five coins out of list (perhaps you can use the coinmarketcap API).

I mainly use MacOSX but also Linux and Windows from time to time. Perhaps, there is a platform independent framework to build it.

Do you mean something preev.com by that watch several Crypto currencies ?

Most useful app is one to monitor BTC address's.  Then you can monitor price, and amount in your BTC address's and not have to have access to account.  So you can view amounts in paper wallets, hardware wallets, hot wallets, etc. And there is no security worries as it only can view.

I use apps like this on my phone to.  It is great tool as I like to be secure but still monitor my addresses.

If I got you right it's something that watch addresses and give you notification when you receive something or you send something and show you the amount on the address and that kind of stuff ?

my idea
the most useful for me is trading aplication, like Z trader for android. but i need more than it.
i think you will be the first if you make dekstop altcoin trader. so we (trader altcoin) can focus at trading.
the aplication use api key from each market, like poloniex, bittrex, cryptsy, hitbtc, huobi etc.

don't make pro version or trial version, im sure trader will send you some satoshi as donation, and support your project.

I was never good at selling stuff anyway , so no worries , even if I do this It will be both open source and free .

10435  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Block Reward Halving - Invest? on: March 21, 2016, 06:29:44 PM
The halving is coming. Surely this would increase demand for Bitcoin? I am planning on buying as much BTC as possible ASAP and plan to sell it after the halving of block rewards. Do you think this is a good idea?

Well It's sounds like a good but it's more like "less supply" then "more demand" and no one really knows what's going to happen (but most likely price increase yes) . You can see my topic on the Speculation section (see the replies of people) .
10436  Economy / Digital goods / [WTB] Dota II account (+7000 MMR) on: March 21, 2016, 05:21:49 PM
I'm looking for a Dota II account , It has to be yours which means you should provide all information's of the account .
I'm not sure how cheap/expensive they are so you can post your offers and we can negotiate .
10437  Economy / Speculation / Re: Getting closer to Halving but .. no increase ? on: March 21, 2016, 04:32:38 PM
No, there isn't a rule saying that the price will increase... And we didn't go through the halving yet.

I know there isn't but as I said "logically" when you hear about the halving , you know that the price will increase and you start buying (and more demand = price increase) , this is how I see it .
10438  Economy / Economics / Australian Government Seeks End to Double Taxation of Bitcoin on: March 21, 2016, 04:08:48 PM
The Australian government has announced that it will back a legislative solution to tax concerns surrounding bitcoin as part of a broad policy statement on financial technology.

Under current tax guidance in the country, bitcoin is considered a form of barter rather than a form of money. Australian businesses must pay goods-and-services tax (GST) if they sell digital currencies, and can be liable for the tax should they receive them as payment.

This policy has sparked criticism from the startup community in Australia, who argue it creates an unfair tax environment. Last summer, the Australian Senate called for proposals to resolve the problem in a report on digital currencies
.

Not a cool move , what do you think guys ?
10439  Economy / Speculation / Getting closer to Halving but .. no increase ? on: March 21, 2016, 04:04:39 PM
Is it normal ? I wasn't here when the old halving block rewards happened before so I'm not sure how things work exactly but logically ... should we see a price increase (at least little bit) since we are getting closer and closer ?
