10421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it time to buy STAR Coin ? on: July 27, 2016, 09:38:01 PM
Wow this thread and it's thought provoking title really motivated me to look into STAR Coin!

Glad it has brought your attention! I just downloaded the wallet but I am getting no connections to the Starcoin network at all. It would be great if someone could give me a list of nodes for me to get started syncing the wallet. Even though the coin does not have enough volume on Yobit exchange, it would be great to grab just a few coins just in case this explodes in price.   Smiley
10422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it time to buy STAR Coin ? on: July 27, 2016, 08:34:01 PM
It is never a good time to buy STAR coin.

Yeah I thought about this when I saw the ANN thread. Also, there are no connections to the Starcoin network (when opening the wallet for a few minutes) so I think this coin is already dead. There isn't much interest into it as well as no buy support in Yobit.  Sad
10423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tired of ETH and ETC? Learn about secured NXT/Ardor smart transactions on: July 27, 2016, 08:15:04 PM
NXT/Ardor Platform to Make Blockchain Cheaper and Safer:

https://cointelegraph.com/news/nxtardor-platform-to-make-blockchain-cheaper-and-safer

Did you get your piece of Ardor yet?
www.ardorplatform.org

And what you think of Ardor smart transactions in the context of the Dao/eth fiasco?

Actually, I have found this a very interesting concept. Given the fact that smart contracts has caused too much trouble in the world of Ethereum, I would say that this could probably be the next big thing. Maybe once it is released, it will increase interest into NXT and its prices will soar so just in case I would be good to buy a few NXT before this happens. It may turn out to become a very good investment in the long term.  Smiley
10424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it time to buy STAR Coin ? on: July 27, 2016, 07:49:00 PM
I think the op is referring to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1507571.0
currently trading on Yobit with no buy orders and their ANN thread is virtually empty with no roadmap, perhaps this guy knows something nobody else does but to me it's a desperate attempt to get some attention for this coin.

Oh in that case, I will give this a try. At first it seemed a little odd to me, now that I couldn't find it anywhere on Coinmarketcap. Since it is relatively new, it may take a while before it gets listed there. And yeah, the ANN has no roadmap and there is only Yobit exchange for it. Since the OP has newbie rank, (and only 1 post count) it may certainly be to get some attention for the coin.  Roll Eyes
10425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 1 LIR equal to $1 on: July 27, 2016, 07:38:48 PM
The likelyhood of it reaching 1$ is slim at best. Gambling is on a decline in general and now combine that with a new currency that enters the market with no backing from the main sites of gambling and you have your answer.

I think given time you'll be quite surprised. It really does flip traditional dice sites upside down with its buybacks and dividends.
it could shake things up if the ball gets rolling. Keep an eye on it. I think you'll be happy you did.

Good to know about this. Actually, LIR is kind of a new alt coin for me since I have never heard of it before. Just found out about it and I'm starting to like it. If it can keep with good development and solid innovations I can see a bright future for it. And who knows? It might probably get up to $1 Just my opinion Roll Eyes
10426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it time to buy STAR Coin ? on: July 27, 2016, 07:23:08 PM
STAR Coin is the next BITCOIN, and a large number of people will be investing their money in big amount soon and STAR Coin will be going to rise up its price in huge value in the future. the are busy for its progress and it will sooner be a successful coin.

By STAR COIN do you mean Startcoin? If so, then I might become very successful in the future, but I highly doubt that it will ever be the next Bitcoin. Could you give a good reason to invest in it now? By the looks of it, prices have been moving slow for Startcoin but I may soon change if what you're saying is correct. Anyways, I'm interested to know more about this STAR Coin or Startcoin (if it is the one I think of)  Smiley
10427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone has the FAI wallet for download? on: July 27, 2016, 06:36:52 PM
Is there anyone that could provide me access to download the FAI wallet? (Free Anonymous Internet Project) I have looked everywhere and can't seem to find it. The official site seems to be down too so my only hope to keep this project alive would be by running some full nodes to support the network.

Also, if anybody could also provide me a way to download the blockchain faster (like bootstrap.dat o blockchain data directory) I would greatly appreciate it.

Remember, the first person to help me with this will receive a small BTC tip reward. Just make sure to post your BTC address when providing me with the links.  Smiley
10428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DAO Attacker Owns 10% Of All ETC on: July 27, 2016, 06:17:20 PM
I think a more likely scenario is trading the ETC for ETH and using that to crash the ETH price

Yeah that would most likely happen. In fact, today the price has been declining being worth $1.44 by now. I guess that the hype is now over, and soon the community and ETH will be back together as one. In my opinion, ETC would give the hacker access to investors funds (from The Dao) which will most likely cause them to dump the ETC and give a negative effect in price. I think that is why we are seeing the price decline today. Anybody can correct me if I'm wrong.  Roll Eyes
10429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto assets to invest into? on: July 27, 2016, 06:12:35 PM
I bought some LIR. Looks like a decent project as long as they deliver what they intend. NXT, and LISK are other coins I'm betting on at the moment as well.

Thanks for your reply. LIR has brought my attention, however I was looking more into some kind of "shares" (similar to Banxshares) where you could earn dividends from the amount of shares that you hold. I used to have some Banxshares, but now I am looking for other alternatives as this one has no liquidity at all. If you or anybody else could recommend me of a good asset that pays dividends, please let me know.  Smiley
10430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DAO Attacker Owns 10% Of All ETC on: July 27, 2016, 12:28:59 AM
Can't wait for the dump. When he dumps your ETC shitcoinage you deserve all you get for supporting a thief, and promoting theft.

There will be blood.

Sadly but it is the hard truth. ETC will be supporting these thieves by running under the original chain (before the hard fork) I don't know what is causing the massive pump into ETC, but I think that it will be over very soon. Maybe it's the hype, or perhaps I'm wrong?  Roll Eyes
10431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Crypto assets to invest into? on: July 26, 2016, 10:50:04 PM
I'm looking into other assets in crypto land to invest into, that pays dividends to its shareholders. I used to have some Banxshares, but now it seems defunct (low liquidity, no market movement) and so I decided to look out for other alternatives.

Could anybody recommend me any good assets to invest into aside from Banxshares? I would greatly appreciate your help with this.  Smiley
10432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MonetaryUnit Coin Swap Poll on: July 26, 2016, 10:10:24 PM
Other (supports master nodes)
i vote for support master nodes, that's make people keep buying and hold mue, but we must increase the minimum balance maybe 1m mue.
Yeah, the true "master nodes" I think should require a significant investment.
It helps reduce the liquidity in the market, and also potentially motivates investors to buy MUE, all helping increase the price.

As my post above suggests, The_Prof and I both like the idea of tiered "nodes" with incremental % return, and incremental cost in MUE.
Obviously the top tier Master node would cost the most and give the greatest return, however, to improve the accessibility of nodes we could have tiers something like:
Noob Node - 10,000 MUE - 2% return
Ninja Node - 50,000 MUE - 4% return
Monster Node - 100,000 MUE - 6% return
Master Node - 1,000,000 MUE - 10% return

I'm just making up the names & the return %, but hopefully you get what I mean.
We'd have to look carefully at these numbers to make sure they work.

edit: This would be a worthy replacement for the MUE Banking services, which by their nature were "centralised".
Also, I wonder whether we could implement some kind of "lock-in" period for the masternodes, or whether that would even be appealing?
I think if you want the benefit of the node % return, then you should be willing to lock in your MUE for at least a fixed term, again, helping decrease the liquidity of the market.

This would definitely be a great way to attract more investors into MUE. I see this as a well thought out plan to keep investors supporting masternodes thus making the MUE network stronger and adding value to the coin itself. If this would be the path that MUE would take, then so be it for long term success.

I would be the one of the first investors for this. Just let me know when its ready and I will gladly support the MUE network by 100%  Cheesy
10433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is the difference between ETH and ETC? on: July 26, 2016, 09:57:30 PM
Can someone explain the difference between ETH and ETC? I have been focusing only on bitcoin lately and haven't heard about what's going on with etherium.

Well its simple. ETC (Ethereum Classic) came out of Ethereum as a result of the recent hard fork (to restore invested ETH from The DAO). However, due to the fact that there are disagreements of this hard fork from Ethereum, the community decided to go separate ways and make an alternative chain called Ethereum Classic.

It is meant to fulfill Ethereum's original purpose such as being a censorship resistant smart contracts platform. You can read more about it here: https://ethereumclassic.github.io/

Hope this helps.  Smiley
10434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Anyone has the FAI wallet for download? on: July 26, 2016, 09:40:41 PM
I have been looking everywhere around the web, including the official site of the Free Anonymous Internet Project (but seems to be taken down) but I can't seem to find the FAI wallet anywhere for download.

It seems that the Free Anonymous Internet Project has been left behind and abandoned, but I would like to get my hands on the wallet in order to support it by adding some full nodes as well as to try to make it useful once more. A project like had a very strong potential to become the next Tor, but I guess that there wasn't much interest into it to keep it going.

I will give out a small BTC tip to the first person that provides me a way to download the wallet. Make sure to post the link to download here as well as your BTC address for the reward.  Smiley
10435  Economy / Economics / Re: What is your best investment strategy? on: July 26, 2016, 02:07:52 AM

Investing makes us to lose money so right now it is better to focus only on signature campaign, I am doing the same and earning little amount daily, I am satisfied with it and sometimes I do trading.

That is certainly true, although you can always invest in Gold and use it as a safe haven to safeguard your money. Even though being in a signature campaign does pay, it is certainly not enough to live a good financial life. It is always best to invest some of that money into other stuff that could make it grow, thus ensuring you a wealthy life for years to come. Usually, I just spend between 10 - 15% of my payments from signature campaign into Gold and PoS coins. It has turned out well for me, especially investing into Gold. Just my opinion.  Cheesy

Great decision to make the change of MUE, a one to vote for. I have already made my vote and hope that whichever algo wins be very beneficial towards the future of the cryptocurrency. Also, I was thinking of a new logo for MUE (in case it is necessary) to give out a fresh new look and feel once it gets a change of PoW algorithm. Another thing would be an implementation of a physical MUE (similar to Bitcoin's Denarium) where you can use it as cold storage for your MUE. If such thing would've existed by now, I would've bought one already. Just my thoughts.  Grin
10437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MonetaryUnit Coin Swap Poll on: July 26, 2016, 01:54:00 AM
I would prefer Dash's X11 algorithm as well as Masternodes feature. I have the feeling that it will be very beneficial towards the long term success of MonetaryUnit. Perhaps, reducing the coin supply a little bit might make MUE a little more scare thus making an increase in value. Just my opinion.  Wink
10438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [LAUNCHED] Staisybit - Universal Online Staking Wallet on: July 26, 2016, 01:50:20 AM
Current problems for me:

Cant withdraw DMD, no stake for some weeks.

Cant withdraw OKCash, no stake since 02/16.

DMD is under investigation right now.

OKCash forked. But also under investigation right now.

Great to know that the Staisybit platform is being worked on! I have some DMD that I would like to withdraw, but still I will leave some other coins into my account for staking. This is getting really interesting now. If it can keep up with development (and most of all good support/service) I can see a very bright future for the platform. I am hoping to see mobile wallet for Android/iOS to keep better track of my coins, etc. But for now, just take your time as the good stuff will come by sooner or later.  Smiley
10439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin get the ability to implement reversible transactions? on: July 26, 2016, 01:42:14 AM
Maybe it could be a option to make the transaction reversible for x confirmations if sender chooses, but Im not sure how powerfull the Bitcoin scripting language is......

Exactly. I was thinking more about this and thought that Ethereum would be very appropriate for this (if it was ever implemented) with the use of a smart contract. The smart contract would then analyse the transaction and will determine to give the user an option to reverse if the same is still unconfirmed. But still, I like the way how Bitcoin is and I think that this change would affect it more than what it could do to improve it. Just my opinion.  Roll Eyes
10440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XMG] Coin Magi | CPU mining | PoS-II | PoM | Unique BLK reward | [MagiPay] on: July 26, 2016, 01:36:36 AM
There is a lot of activity on the markets today - but not so much on Magi, then I realised that there is not much liquidity in the market (On polo only 2000XMG for sale up to 2990sat and and only 10000XMG in demand for upto 2200sat), I'm going to release a bit more BTC/XMG into the XMG market - and its a good opportunity for everybody if you want to place buy or sell orders. There is hardly anything in the 2000-3000 satoshi range
Thanks guys, there is a lot more liquidity in the market now - We now have 24,000 XMG up to 3000sat and 25,000 XMG from 2000sat+ in sell orders. The poloniex market is looking 10 times healthier than this morning

Definitely good news for Magi! Now it would be best to hold on tight onto your XMG coins as this will probably get very interesting in the next days. Magi is finally on Poloniex and it may soon spread to other exchanges once it becomes extremely popular. I have no doubt that it will be the best alt coin yet! Prices have remained relatively stable so that is a good sign that XMG is a safe investment. Just my opinion.  Cheesy

I agree to hold onto the majority of coins - but its still good to offer a small amount to the exchanges, if there is no Magi for people to buy then the coin will not be so tempting for the large investors. That's why I'm holding 80% of my coin and using the other 20% to the market no matter what the price is  (and with the recent volatility my 20% holding has increased to 30%)

Awesome, there has been a massive spike in XMG - 15BTC have invested in the last 24 hours =) Price just leaped all the way to 5.5K

And, I just noticed that the price of 5,000 is being secured with a wall of 7BTC. Very exciting times for the MagiCoin...

Completely agree with you mate. These times are very exciting for Coin Magi. It seems that there are investors that have become very interested in increasing XMG's price thus making it more valuable. It is good and bad at the same time since the more the price goes up, the more the profits but the less chances you'll get of buying some cheap Magi to prepare for the next Proof of Interest campaign.

Still, the price today has remained stable around $0.02 which is pretty good entry point (in my opinion) to get some cheap XMG before something even better happens. I am very optimistic.  Cheesy
