10441  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Saudi Arabia's deal with Ripple on: February 16, 2018, 10:59:59 AM
Saudi Arabia's central bank signs blockchain deal with Ripple

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-saudi-cenbank-currency/saudi-arabias-central-bank-signs-blockchain-deal-with-ripple-idUSKCN1FZ0LD

Will this news make ripple price to skyrocket $5?

Should we buy now?
Already read and other news that the number of banks attached to ripple increases. But at the same time the price for some reason keeps on the same level or does not grow very much, maybe someone just wants more investors. I should not think of buying a coin that is quietly controlled and does good only for yourself.

Exactly! Everyone's got to remember that Ripple as a business enterprise and Ripple as a cryptocurrency are currently linked, but their success isn't really dependent on each other. Most of the news regarding banks we've seen so far signing up with Ripple are going to be using Ripple's technology, not necessarily and in fact not at all Ripple(XRP) tokens.

Even if XRP were to drop to 1 cent, Ripple as a company already has its business to rely on. Of course, I think it is in their interest to project a strong coin so $1 will be for me the bottom they will always inject into.
10442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin Doubles In Value since early February on: February 16, 2018, 08:24:37 AM
in dollar it got doubled ,
also even in btc it increased upto 65% .

best fork of btc it is , truly faster (not fastest) and cheaper .

Hmm, I don't think you understand the concept of fork. And no, Litecoin is not the fastest, and it is only cheaper because of simple price valuation.

Yes, it is meant to be quick and cheap, but we'll need to see standard use apply before we can truly compare.

I am a Litecoin supporter, user and holder. I only want the best for it, and believe in its strength. But we should be careful about the coins we hold and what we say about them. Don't want to confuse the newbies now do we?
10443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is the LTC 1000$ in this year? on: February 15, 2018, 09:25:28 AM
It is still undervalued comparing to god damn overvalued ripple. 1000 is very unrealistic guess but I expect to see 500 in 6 months or something. Even bitcoin cash is more overvalued than litecoin.

Yeah, almost every alt is overvalued now, when most of them aren't really even doing what they're supposed to be, and fewer still are being used for what they are supposed to. Litecoin already is the payment currency it set out to be but it has yet to achieve the kind of network Bitcoin has - but that should change very soon when merchants already taking up Bitcoin will also accept its little brother... Charlie Lee will make sure of that. I would say another climb to $350 is the most optimist prediction, $1000 is just far too soon when it has not had time to find $500 and stabilize.
10444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Etherium Classic - Callisto airdop 5th of March 2018 on: February 14, 2018, 04:11:00 PM
ETC looks headed towards $100 by the Callisto airdrop date. Good time to be holding it.

There is lot positive approach to the ETC in the market, but no one is answering to what are the wallets are they going to support this Airdrop. They mentioned it on March 5th but the thing is whether it is workable in the market after listing those tokens.
Only hype and no more. that will be definitely the same like nxt hype before ignis already distributed to the all of nxt holders. That worth shit right now. How those people pay a lot for nxt because the majority of people were buying at peak and this will be happening in the ethereum classic airdrop also. Do we need that airdrop? At the same time etc just another fork coin.

Maybe you need to pay attention to what fork coins were. ETC is not the fork, as its name suggests, Classic? But yes, I agree, I wouldn't buy any coins just to get any airdrop, no matter what the drops will cost in future. I mean, if I held the coin already and airdrops were coming, sure I'd take what I could get. But to buy a coin and help pump the price before it drops after the airdrop? Nah, I'll hold on to my Bitcoins and make proper decisions about diversifying to alts. I suggest you do the same (not that ETC is a bad coin).
10445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: YOBIT on: February 14, 2018, 12:54:54 PM
some people say that yobit is always problematic.
but maybe it's just a network interruption or something else
but I personally do not wear yobit
Use Yobit with high level caution!  Wink

I've used Yobit in the past, and all I can say is that they've never given me a problem, but I've only traded in major currencies, and I think if you stick to the main markets they offer (Waves is one of them actually, along with Dogecoin and Litecoin), you should find no issues since they need those wallets maintained. Their problems are usually with the ETH tokens and all the small alts. They have a really crazy number of Bitcoin forks too, but I've never ventured into using them.

Use ANY exchange with caution, I would say.
10446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Neo & Chinese New Year 2018 on: February 14, 2018, 07:05:48 AM
Hi all, Chinese New Year will begin on Friday, February 16th, 2018.
There are many interesting things with Neo one of them is when another crypto has an accident, while Neo remains stable and fluctuates as usual as if it doesn't have problems, anyone know why?...

Many rumors say Neo will be a major competitor for Ethereum in the future. Will these predictions come true?...

I want to hear your opinion about Neo (Chinese Ethereum), what do you think will happen with the Neo when the Chinese New Year arrives, will it be bad?...

Not sure what you mean by accidents here. I'm pretty sure if NEO gets stolen from another hacked exchange, it will suffer the same consequences as other alts or even Bitcoin itself (like how the recent NEM got a huge hit when 10% was stolen from a hacked SKorean exchange).

Also, those are not rumors, those are what the NEO guys are saying and promoting... Chinese Ethereum is a catchphrase for Neo.

Lunar New Year? Hasn't affected any crypto, do other New Years affect other "Western" alts?
10447  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are trading volumes normally this low? on: February 13, 2018, 06:42:37 PM
The volumes for trading have generally become a lot lower than the December and even January highs, yes, but it also depends on whether you're measuring in fiat or ETH values. You can always check out the volume charts at coinmarketcap and other sites. Some pairs aren't very good volume, others are better on other exchanges like Xenrise says. I generally try to look at the markets tab and choose the top five (unless I don't already have an account there). But to be fair, if you're not a whale like I'm not, in doesn't really matter. My orders generally get filled.
10448  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tactics When Market is Flat. on: February 13, 2018, 01:11:34 PM
This really depends on what your 'goal' is which you want to achieve with crypto.
If you are a daytrader there isn't much you can do on flat days.. try to ride the small waves which appear.
As a holder (when the fundamentals didn't change) just hold tight. In the end it will pay out.
Especially with LN being tested and Schnorr in (hopefully) near future, holding is the best option IMO.

Trading is fine, but in the end you should always be holding your stack tight.

Agreed. If the market is flat, that's telling you lie down flat on your back and take a break. Holders probably love this part, because it means the market is stabilizing, slowly gaining momentum before trying to retest new highs. Scalpers on the day trading scene will always be on the lookout for sudden volume spikes, and in a flat market, probably easier to spot this. I login to Bittrex and see the top volume trades and it usually lasts a little while before flatlining again.

The longer this flat market trades sideways, the better for long-term view, in my opinion.
10449  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to go below 4000$ on Feb 20 on: February 13, 2018, 12:21:01 PM
Excuse me for being blind or something, but your red support line doesn't even touch on the second period... move that line up and you are nowhere near $4k. Not saying it's impossible for Bitcoin to lose more than 50% of today's price in a week, just saying your chart is weak and flawed. Besides, haven't you learned that you can't chart on such a narrow time period? Bitcoin is volatile, and doesn't fit into current market patterns.

Personally, it's been like this price up and down for weeks now, I really can't see any significant drop or rise, not to the value of 50% so soon anyway.
10450  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Poloniex verification - fake name on: February 13, 2018, 09:39:47 AM
Just don't ever do it. If you ever want to use a centralized exchange, make sure you use a real name. Eventually, one day, you will be required to verify your identity. This is whether or not they really are following regulations. Exchanges will use every means at their disposal to make an excuse for not paying out and you should never give them the opportunity to do so. Take precautions and be extremely paranoid. Or use decentralized exchanges where you never need to do KYC!
10451  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where can I buy Ethereum with Fiat money? (Not Coinbase) on: February 13, 2018, 08:27:37 AM
I got my last bit of significant ETH from BitPanda, and that happened to be at a really good price (caught it when the market was really low, and when I was confirming my order it got even lower). In fact, you can just fund the account there and leave your EUR in their wallet until you want to make a buy (instant) when the price is to your liking. It's centralized of course, but they have had a good reputation for years (Austria based, crypto friendly government).

If you want to do P2P I also recommend Bisq.

Both above recommended by reputable users, that's how I heard of them.
10452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What will the winners look like in the next 5 years? on: February 12, 2018, 09:48:09 PM
It's between speed vs. decentralization. Which coin will be adopted by most? Many say it's in the top 20 already we have still decided what we're going to use as THE PROTOCOL coin. Educated opinions welcomed.

Agree that adoption will be the main aspect for success in five years. By that time, alts without success in that area, and all the so-called utility tokens that will never be used, will slowly begin to fade. And this is why the ones like Bitcoin will succeed where others struggle, the one crypto that is gaining adoption and intended use, even with all the FUD going on. If alts like Litecoin also succeed in getting their own network of accepting merchants, then they stand a chance too (and I believe Monero will be one of the few).
10453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ERC20 tokens that will be changing to custom PoS Blockchain on: February 12, 2018, 07:30:41 PM
One token that I believe has POS mining enabled on ERC 20 token is POS token. They did some airdrops last year and they aren't too well known but I believe you can mine and stake through that smart contract. Not sure how it works though, that was too many steps for me to undertake.

Yeah, I believe it was actually the first to do so, hence their name. I just checked my ETH address after reading this, suddenly recalling that I might have some and I do indeed. In fact, it seems I was sent a small amount the second time after receiving the first, almost 3 months ago, so I'm wondering actually if it's "auto" staking.

Interesting topic to follow, I didn't know Wagerr was going through this step.
10454  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA not able to handle IoT? Issues don't end... on: February 12, 2018, 05:22:07 PM
This is why I'm telling people and my friends that IOTA is way overprices, especially at the end of 2017 when it had 14B market cap. The idea is very good, but a good realization is still missing.

I think the price will continue to decline and we may even see it under a buck!
You're joking right? Do you even know much great things are lined up for this year? IOTA will be added to lots of new exchanges (and maybe even forex exchanges) once IXI hub is finished, big companies like Bosch and Volkswagen are going to unveil their applications with IOTA. Furthermore, their Q project will be unveiled which is probably about dedicated ternary hardware and distributed computing. I think IOTA is currently the only project that is able to really start moving things, and the price will follow.

Just because "great things" are lined up doesn't really add value to a project, actually. If the first things that come to mind as "Great" is listing on exchanges, then you've really got to examine what you think you mean by a project's value. I know tons of alts that are listed on X number of sites. But who is using them for their intended purpose?

Bosch? Volkswagen? I hope this won't turn out to be another Microsoft "I'm sorry we retract that statement".

Iota is like most alts... starting to really move, but nowhere solid yet. That's why I think it's overpriced too (like a lot of others).
10455  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is Telegram the new measure of ICO success? on: February 11, 2018, 05:53:36 PM
It's certainly a metric that can point towards success, but there are several common denominators for success, and success can mean many different things itself (are you talking about ICOs that raise millions or ICOs that are able to keep to their development roadmap and push out great projects?).

I look at some wonderful projects I'm in and there is not even 1,000 people in their Telegram group. But the few in there are so active, and it just pays to listen in. Others had thousands, and was filled with people asking stupid questions that if you spent just 5 mins you would find answers on website.

Why do you think I've just stopped Telegram?
10456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto has gone to shit on: February 11, 2018, 05:22:33 PM
Think everyone already knew this. Yes, ICOs are to blame when they're asking for millions to do things that are nowhere near the complexity of what Bitcoin tried to do without any money. But people themselves are to blame for funding these projects, and allowing devs to use the money as they please without questioning. But that is the way it would have gone, no one would be a genius for predicting that the moneygrabbers would come to play. Just take it in and let it go. That's how it the world works

And too many fucking exchanges.

What's wrong with that? Would you prefer one Mt Gox to rule them all? The more competition the better. The more choice the better. I do wish everyone would please start to use decentralized exchanges more though.
10457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Invest in Litecoin on: February 11, 2018, 02:06:06 PM
Litecoin is a very interesting project. The community has already recognized this project as productive and worthy of attention. But all the same, we are clever people with you. I think that if Bitcoin completes the technology, litecoin will no longer be needed.
Litecoin includes a long-lived coin you know, or the second oldest coin after bitcoin, of course it has been seen that litecoin is quite reliable, actually some time ago I was quite unsure of litecoin because there is no inovation and prices tend to decrease, but after cryptocurrency became popular and then lifting the name litecoin and make marketcap of litecoins become bigger, it's not a matter of saving a few percent of your capital here mate,

Age is one of the most overlooked things in crypto, you have to realise the majority of alts being talked about here have barely been two or even three years old. Litecoin isn't simply old, it's been in continuous development, just like Bitcoin, plus it has very close links with their core developers. You must not have been paying attention to innovations in Litecoin! They were the very first to fully test Segwit, paving the way for adoption by other coins. And their success with atomic swaps? Which is going to be the thing all alts will go for!
10458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin or Etherium? on: February 11, 2018, 11:52:29 AM
So as a back story, I am heavily invested into these two coins. Each one of them has their specific uses and I personally think that Etherium can do all the things that Litecoin can do, and then some. Litecoin's primary use is to transfer money from one place to another. You can do that with any cryptocurrency, and ETH offers that option as well, along with the same if not cheaper type of fees as LTC.
Now, they also offer smart contracts which will attract ICO's to use ETH. So with that being said, if you had to portion out 100% of your portfolio with either LTC or ETH, how would you populate it and why? I need some convincing on why I should stay invested in LTC.

Ethereum can do all the things that Litecoin can, is almost true, but remember that coins that do what they set out to do are what we should consider as successful. Yes Ether is also sent as currency but Ethereum was supposed to be the supercomputer platform that could run decentralized apps all at once. The fact that one game app broke the network means it could not do things the way it was supposed to do (yet). Litecoin, on the other hand, set out to be the cheap and fast way people could pay each other, and has so far done it - and no it has never been more expensive than Eth!

And Litecoin will continue, with or without its dev. Imagine if Buterin leaves.
10459  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: casinocoin on: February 11, 2018, 10:30:29 AM
A lot of casino coins out there especially since they all launched middle of last year. As far as I know, only CSNO and MBI have paid out dividends, since they are both existing casinos who did ICOs to expand business. ICE reminds me of ETH - yes, full of experts, and yes very brilliant people, but a bit too corporate for my liking. Nothing wrong with spending a lot of money to promote, they certainly said they would do it in their plans. But I guess I like something a bit more old school when it comes to business, as in, something that works and can be used versus something that may or may not be. Then again, token prices seldom have anything to do with actual product performance, so...
10460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: RaiBlocks (XRB) is going to be a top 10 coin on: February 10, 2018, 11:35:33 PM
How do you see the issue with BitGrail and xrb that people have on their website? This seems to be affecting the price.

10% of the whole supply is now in the hands of a scammer. that ain't going to do it any favours. the person who has it could either be some random hacker or the guy who ran the bitgrail exchange.

it just goes to show that gathering around one service will always end in tears.

Damn, I just looked at NAno's price now and it's below $9. OK, this is one thing I never understood, like it happened recently with NEM after the hack.

1. If an exchange is hacked and coins are stolen, why does a coin's price go down? The coin didn't get hacked, the exchange did.
2. If supply is lost forever or stolen, shouldn't it be more scarce and therefore more expensive?
3. People should learn to list coins across exchanges, and especially DEX, like you said ECB!
