10461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hodl till it moons. on: February 04, 2018, 02:25:36 PM
So a lot of my friends are scared with btc losing half its value in 2 months. Some even decided to sell off their coins just to reduce the loss which they will make. Please I will advice my friends in here just like i did to them. Don't sell, HODL TILL IT MOONS. Thank me later.

I am thinking about buyimg more coins, when will be the best time to purchase?.

Why not? This is the best time to get into the market because all the coins are at a discount. It doesn't makes sense at all to sell your coins in this crisis because you will just lose your investment, Right? If you are going to wait till it moons then you must be in it for the long haul. Crypto's (well some of them) are really good for long term investors. Just tell your friend that this is just another test that we can hurdle overtime.

And no need to panic, on the contrary this is really a golden opportunity to buy and stack up your wallets.

I believe that the most experienced traders and investors have already taken this decision. They hold their Bitcoins and altcoins and do not sell them until the great pump that will happen in a few weeks, as I think.

That's why we always tell newbies not to sell. They are the first one to be shaken in the prices moves downtrend. Experienced traders didn't even blink an eye when the price is going down. But for the bounce back, no one can tell for certain, one week, one month. But this trend will not last long I'm sure of that.
10462  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin Price is going down? on: February 04, 2018, 01:37:16 PM
As to this writing Bitcoin price is $8,618.99. Bitcoin price is really unpredictable. This is maybe because some of the countries Government does not consider cryptocurrencies a legal tender or coin and some of them take all measures to eliminate use of these crypto-assets in financing illegitimate activities or as part of the payment system.

Yes, because governments all over the world are working together to bring bitcoin and crypto to its knees. They are really afraid how disrupted it is, but it doesn't make sense at all. Why the hell will it be disrupted when only a few % of the total population on the planet have been into crypto? If they are afraid that its being used by criminals then they can easily track it down in blockchain network.

I really thought that we are in the process of recovery, but I spoke too soon. It looks like that it went below $9K. Investors are really afraid and just want to wait it out. This is gonna be long so that best thing to do is just hold on our crypto assets.
10463  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin now below $10,000 on: February 04, 2018, 01:16:24 PM
Perfect time to buy and hold cos it's definitely going to pump

Yeah its too low at the moment best time to buy and hold or buy and sell in a litlle pump sure profit if you can manage carefully while trading...me just keep holding my btc till pump again..

Guess I was wrong, maybe this crisis or bearish trend will remind for quite some time. It went above $9K and now back to $87xx. Nothing to do but keep on holding and see how it pans out.

Investors remains reluctant to partake with their cash. They may have opted to cash out and go to gold or stocks for now. Maybe when bitcoin starts to recover, I'm sure that they will have second look and probably go back to the market again.
10464  Economy / Economics / Re: Mining BTC after 21M on: February 04, 2018, 12:25:22 PM
So it is year 2024 and the max BTC supply is reached at ~21M.

I'll speculate that the price of energy around the world will be higher than it is today, so that will cut into the miners profits. They will also be receiving their BTC on fees alone, not the generation of BTC for completing the block (like today).

Will it be economical to continue mining BTC going forward? The large mining operations can always set up a solar panel system to reduce energy costs.

Even if some of the larger miners shut down, I'm sure there will be enough miners around the world where the blocks will still be completed, but it may take longer. (The mempool may grow like it did before X-mas last year)  I'm not exactly sure how the lightning network will affect the mempool....?

Is it possible that the S/W for BTC may be augmented to a semi POS type of system?

As pointed out its year 2040 or 2041. Even the last bitcoin mined is unpredictable AFAIK. Its really depends on how the blocks is mined (every 10 minutes?).

I think there's going to be a Asics or mining hardware in the future that will be "eco-friendly", that will not consumed so much hash power. Oh yes, solar panel will be a good alternative as well.

As for the software, not sure though it we need to augment. It doesn't really makes sense.
10465  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Playing alone in a land based casino or Not? on: February 04, 2018, 10:31:47 AM
It doesn't matter whether you are alone or not but the fact is you are going to still play. That's the bottom line but if you have been sneaking around going out without telling others because you are somewhat addicted, then it's best to avoid gambling because in the long run it would be hard.

For me, playing in a land-based casino, I would prefer to to play with a company. With friends because it's fun and if we don't know the games, we will learn it together. If I'm going to play solo, It's better to play online. But it's both different.

Thanks. that's what really makes me go to land cased casinos, with friends and families to have some fund. Maybe the addiction on me has kick in again. Need to control myself because I don't want to fall into it.

Nothing wrong going to real casinos alone particularly if you like that real casino environment to play games.

But if you want to save time and extra money to go real casino then online casinos are best. I never played in real casinos so far so I never felt like what your feeling.

But it's really different when you are in a real casino. The atmosphere, the people around. Then you witnessed those big Chinese gamblers betting huge amount, never ceases to amazed me as a fellow gambler.

Lately, I've been playing alone in a land based casino. I used to go and play with my friends and family members but now I'm developing a habit not telling them that I will go to casino all by myself. It got me thinking, what the hell am I'm doing? If I should be going alone, why not just go online then?

Do you guys love to play alone in a land based casino? If yes, did it somewhat comes to your mind that it better to go online instead going solo on a casino?
u should have told us whats the reason why you want to play solo, going to the land base casino in single is a sign of addiction.and that means you dont want to be disturb while playing, for sure in just couple of months u will admit that youre an addict..if i were you go back to the old times.come with them its for youre own good

Reason is that I feel bored and I out to go outside. Yes, probably I might have relapses again and going back to my old self. I guess its I need to be mentally tough and fight the demon inside of me.

The same case here, whenever I visit a casino I used to be with my friends but as time goes by I prefer going alone. Though, as for me, I prefer being alone because sometimes my friends are so distracting and it annoys especially when I'm already having my momentum.

Yes, I really love playing alone. Though, I didn't think of going online instead. Playing in a land-based casino is quite exceptional, I tend to meet a lot of players and make some new friends. Plus the hospitality that the casino caters makes our or my stay worth it and comfortable. I'm not against in online casino but I did try it before, I easily got bored and I didn't enjoy it.

Well, We all have our views but for me, Online casino is not my thing.

To a certain extent, Yes, I would say that they are somewhat distracting. There are times that I won already and I want to get home, but I can't because they are still playing. So while waiting for them, I bet a few and incurred losses. Well, If I just decided to go home by that time by winnings will still be intact.

10466  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC FN 125: Machida vs Anders Prediction and Info Thread on: February 02, 2018, 11:59:12 PM
Well Lyoto career is on the downward spin. And I agree with @Hydrogen. He maybe past his prime.  His best days are over so to speak. Plus age is catching up with the "Dragon". While Anders enjoys a 2 win fight streak and youth is on his side. With that said, I'm siding with Anders here. If Lyoto loses again, I think its time to call it a day for him. The middleweight landscape has change a lot since he last become a champion on that division. Its gonna be tough for him to compete at the level we are seeing today.

10468  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin is useless on: February 02, 2018, 11:22:20 PM
Not true, the bitcoin is not useless. Bitcoin is a great help for us who work in this trade. Bitcoin is a study that must overcome so how they could say that bitcoin is useless. Today the bitcoin is very helpful in our society because it's open furom, freely express your thoughts. So the bitcoin is important today and for the next season.

Those who think that bitcoin is useless are those people who are late getting into the market. They wanted to ride the wave, unfortunately they are late that's why they think that its not worth it. Bitcoin has really help a lot of us here, no doubt about that. From a simple signature which we are being paid for our work, to trading, which gives us lots of opportunity to earn huge money if we all know the ins and outs of it.

I also disagree with the subject, its only useless if you don't benefited from it, but bitcoin has really help a lot of people here in the community specially gaining financial freedom.
10469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: February 02, 2018, 10:54:11 PM
another good performance for Harden with 28 points and 11 assists against San Antonio.
Houston won the game in the first quarter and then maintain the advantage of over 10 points until the end of the match.
It seems the final conference will almost certainly be Golden s
State vs Houston

So Houston has really improved a lot specially Paul joining the club. If Golden State and Houston face off for the conference finals, I'm sure it will be one epic clash. I still favor GSW though, defending champs, been there than that.

I'm a GSW fan and always wanted them to win the ring but ain't happy if Lebron will join GSW although it is sure a tough team if ever. I'd like Lebron to be an opponent rather than playing in GSW plus that would be disappointing if ever. Match wouldn't be interesting as much as before it they let it happen.

I doubt that GSW will make a trade just to get Lebron. I want him to stay on the East side. So that the there will be somewhat a balance between East/ West. And I think NBA are really taking a close look at those super teams already. They will not allow such talks because it will not be fair to other teams in my opinion.
10470  Economy / Speculation / Re: Market News (2/2/2018) on: February 02, 2018, 10:13:05 PM
Its a new chanse to newcomers) And a good sale 50% to all of us! dont miss it

Definitely a good chance for everyone not only newcomers but I mean everyone can really buy bitcoin because its a bargain. We have been hearing tons of people here, saying bitcoin is expensive. Now it your chance. Are you guys getting it or just completely trolling before?

Next week we'll know for sure if the price is going to rise or drop even more than it did today. If it turns out that Tether has been pumping up the price of bitcoin, the price could drop to less than 4K. Hopefully investors and the mainstream will then start buying massively and the price will increase again.

Why next week? I think in the next 2 days we will see how's everything. If the price recovered then we should call it a day and relax. But if another negative news (FUD) comes in, I'm sure the headache and frustrations will continue.
10471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am i late to buy bitcoin now ?? on: January 31, 2018, 07:45:52 PM
Looks like its another perfect buying time for bitcoin and other alts because the market is on another price correction. It bottom at $9600 If I'm not mistaken, you should have grab that chances and just stash it in your wallet. And hold on it. Nothing is better than buying it at those prices because its cheap.

You gonna love those price specially if you are a long term holder. You just put it in your wallet and forgot all about it and just come back after 1 year to see how your investment grows.
10472  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrencies aren't anonymous anymore on: January 31, 2018, 07:21:24 PM
This is something that I'm saying for a long time now. Bitcoin has lost a great deal of anonimity comparing to early days. Different laws and regulations as well as many investigation techiques, available especialy to law enforcement, made Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies more transparent and more traceable.
But I still beleive as long as you don't misuse them for illegal activities your privacy will be great deal protected but still don't expect to be anonimous.

Correct, will all the government crackdown on bitcoin, its already lost a great deal of its supposedly psuedo anonymous features. Remember that in the beginning, bitcoin has no names attached, but now every exchanges should have KYC/AML and they can easily trace you back or investigate on what is the source of all your bitcoins.
10473  Economy / Speculation / Re: Again, price breaks below $11,000, is it ready to dip nelow $10K? on: January 31, 2018, 07:00:13 PM
And it did go below 10,000$. Bitcoin has dip as far a as 9,600$ level and I saw it coming the price action where Bitcoin had rallied fast going to 11,900$ shows us that someone is pumping the cryptocurrency which is obvious as the volume has been lagging behind the price increase. Many have also predicted that it was a bull trap and I have confirmed it with my own analysis. Good thing that I have convert my Bitcoin into Fiat before the dip and I bought it back again when it hit 9,700$ I have now increased my Bitcoin position.

I already saw that it dip below $9K, but I guess someone nabs a few bitcoins and push the price instantly above $10K. I have been hearing about the bull trap in the last 3 weeks that I beginning to wonder that maybe, manipulators are artificially pumping bitcoin again, I thought it was a rally already to move past $11K, but then again, I'm always wrong with my prediction.

We will be entering February, I hope that everything will change for the better and we may see reversals, and price picking it up again to the tune of $12K-$15K so say the least.
10474  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 30, 2018, 06:07:08 PM
Roger Federer never allows himself to have it easy in any finals.
Especially the last Australian Open when he was playing against Nadal. He had to take a medical timeout when he looked like he was going to lose it but then after the break (inwhich I think if he didn't take it he would of lost to Rafael and then my bet of 50mbtc would of won ah well. Would've, could've!) he came back like a phoenix out of the fire to win it easily.
Sort of like this match which the final frame was 6-1 in Federer's favor

He managed to do it yet again.
The old dog in the tournament has his day! Grin
Congratulations Roger you can now retire and let the youngster have a go at it. Wink

Ah, Fedex really made me happy two Grand Slams in a row, but yeah, I thought he could have given himself an easier time. Both were tired by the final so I thought RF would have tried to bring it to a quick end, guess the Croatian wasn't quite ready to give up so easily. I said last year he had at least 1 left in him, and am happy to have bet on him having yet another. Probably best time to retire like you say while he's on a high but so tempting to have money on him again if he joins another tourney... the way he turns back the clock would make anyone get the shivers!

My betting's been really crap for the Women's, (even last year) so I should really probably stick to men's from now on.

I don't think he will retire soon, giving his form and motivation to go on. At the moment the other players are struggling with injuries (Murray, Nadal, Djokovic), so Federer has a good chance to win some more tournaments and grand slams!

He is not going to retire anytime soon as he said yesterday in a press conference that he is looking forward to coming back to Australia next year to play again and maybe breaking the record with a 7th Australian Open title. I actually would like to see him do it as he is the greatest player of all time. What Federer really needs now is another French Open title but it will be difficult for him if Nadal will be fit for the upcoming French Open. It would look much better if Federer has another French Open title in his trophy case but then again the same could be said for Nadal as his is mainly full of French Open titles.

Roger will not play anymore on clay.

I'm not so sure about that although I remember that he said that he will "limit" his play on clay. But I'm sure he wants to get those French title. It will be a "nice to haves" although clay is not his specially. Maybe he want's to limit but not totally eliminate the idea of chasing another French Open.

I have to agree, he will not retire, but he is very selective of what tournament he wants to play. So that he can rest his body and recuperate so that he can still play at par with the young generations.
10475  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin.Bitcoin.Bitcoin!!!!!!!!! on: January 30, 2018, 05:44:47 PM
With the way things are going right now, Bitcoin is fighting to be stable at least in the vicinity of the
$10K level support and though we are wishing for it to make some surges the way it did in the last
quarter of 2017, that may not be happening soon (am willing to be surprised though).

This can be the scenario leading others to conclude that we are
about to experience a longer than expected bearish market or worst a Bitcoin winter season this early part of the year.

Are you still optimistic that within this quarter Bitcoin will surprise us with an unexpected rise or will it
retreat further?

I'm still optimistic that February will bring us a positive sentiments and move bitcoin price above $12K. Right now we are just above $10K mark and its frustrating to see that we have started at the wrong foot this year.

But I know, that this will be a great buying opportunity, those who have been in line and wants to enter can bought it at this price, and maybe pushing it a bit to $11K. And when February comes in, I hope to see the price test $12K and see it its going to hold. Confident that this crypto winter will be over next month.
10476  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why crypto price down in January? on: January 30, 2018, 05:23:44 PM
The price of cryptocurrencies has been down the last three years in January. What is the reason for this regular dip?

I can't tell about the last 2 years, but this year, we have been suffering from a lot of FUD coming South Korea and then their the bitcoin future contracts expiration that has somewhat contributed to the price dipping further. Other says' because of the Chinese New year. Investor's cashing it out to celebrate that holiday.

Well its been a trend for the last 3 years but knowing bitcoin's volatile history, we can't really say for certain if this is a regular dip. Its almost end of the month, I hope things change for the better in February.
10477  Economy / Economics / Re: "Switzerland wants to be a crypto nation" Economic minister. on: January 30, 2018, 04:56:22 PM
I read this news at  https://www.fxstreet.com/news/swiss-ecomin-switzerland-wants-to-be-a-crypto-nation-201801300630  and its  really gladly my heart.
Economy minister Johann Schneider Ammann, Said "Switzerland want to be a crypto nation" as at the time when many developed and developing countries are expressing their negative options on cryptocoin and we are hearing news that many countries want to ban it. What is your take on this move or comments?

This is not new. Switzerland has been friendly to crypto. I bet you haven't heard that a school in Switzerland has started to accept bitcoin as tuition fee payment.  Though I can't remember if they are the first school to do it.

https://kryptomoney.com/schools-in-switzerland-accepts-tuition-fees-in-bitcoin/

This is really welcoming news because there are a lot of nation who are against bitcoin. At least we have one nation who is very open minded, willing to take the risk and embrace this new technology. Don't worry about those banning bitcoin and cyrpto. They really don't know how it can improved their economy and its not really design to be used by criminals.
10478  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Shyness in gambling on: January 30, 2018, 04:34:30 PM
Have you ever felt that you didn't play just because you were shy? I have felt this in casinos, and I just felt the pressure, but there's no need to be because everyone just minds their own business in gambling. Probably some people even pushed you to start gambling. I just thought about this because when I tried gambling for the first time in casinos, I don't know if it's okay to sit in tables whether the game is blackjack, poker, anything in the casino just so that I just felt shy because I'm a newbie.

Have you felt this way? I don't know if playing online casinos would have that effect also. What do you think?

Actually, there was one instance in the beginning that I was embarrassed because I didn't know that I need to put additional bet on the table. All the players are waiting for me to put the bet, but since I didn't know the rules then somewhat has pointed it to me and I became the joke on the table. lol. It was a blackjack or something.

But online? I don' think so, you are not playing against someone, there's no element in shyness present in there.

Kindly share your experience if you ever being faced situation where either you where not allowed to enter the casinos due to either improper attire, age verification issue etc.  Also anytime till now have you being removed from the casinos? It could be due to any of reasons e.g - Misbehaving or fighting, getting high and creating ruckus, caught cheating etc.

Share your true experience if you ever had to face any such situations or related to it any incident that occurred with you.

I was travelling abroad and happen to visit casinos but i was in flip flops and as per the rules a proper attire was must. I was not being allowed inspite of me explaining I cam from abroad and will be leaving tonight and was not aware of such policy etc. But they where strict with the rules and I had to return back form their.

NO. I haven't experienced that kind of attention because I always check what the proper etiquette of the casino that I'm going. I always wear the proper attire and I don't cheat because the likelihood that you are going to be ban across all casino's is very likely so I try to behave as much as I can.

Yes, there are a lot of casino's in my place that not allowing anyone to enter in flipflops, whether your local or foreigner. That's how it is so everyone should follow.

Care to share what casino it was?
10480  Economy / Speculation / Re: Transaction fees going down~ on: January 25, 2018, 12:21:03 AM
Because the network spam has somewhat stopped. Or it could be that there are less transactions, or people are moving to Segwit already. I try to test it myself (legacy address) today and pay around 300 satoshi/byte, and it was instant (well probably < 7 minutes). That's was the quickest transaction I my so far. But I still prefer Segwit, way way cheaper.

That's really a good progress. This situation would improve more if all of us start using Segwit addresses completely. It was really a bad time to pay such a high fee of dollars for even lower amounts.

Yup, using Segwit should be the norm now. You don't have to pay high tx fees and it will gradually reduces the network the traffic.
