10461  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am i late to buy bitcoin now ?? on: January 31, 2018, 07:45:52 PM
Looks like its another perfect buying time for bitcoin and other alts because the market is on another price correction. It bottom at $9600 If I'm not mistaken, you should have grab that chances and just stash it in your wallet. And hold on it. Nothing is better than buying it at those prices because its cheap.

You gonna love those price specially if you are a long term holder. You just put it in your wallet and forgot all about it and just come back after 1 year to see how your investment grows.
10462  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrencies aren't anonymous anymore on: January 31, 2018, 07:21:24 PM
This is something that I'm saying for a long time now. Bitcoin has lost a great deal of anonimity comparing to early days. Different laws and regulations as well as many investigation techiques, available especialy to law enforcement, made Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies more transparent and more traceable.
But I still beleive as long as you don't misuse them for illegal activities your privacy will be great deal protected but still don't expect to be anonimous.

Correct, will all the government crackdown on bitcoin, its already lost a great deal of its supposedly psuedo anonymous features. Remember that in the beginning, bitcoin has no names attached, but now every exchanges should have KYC/AML and they can easily trace you back or investigate on what is the source of all your bitcoins.
10463  Economy / Speculation / Re: Again, price breaks below $11,000, is it ready to dip nelow $10K? on: January 31, 2018, 07:00:13 PM
And it did go below 10,000$. Bitcoin has dip as far a as 9,600$ level and I saw it coming the price action where Bitcoin had rallied fast going to 11,900$ shows us that someone is pumping the cryptocurrency which is obvious as the volume has been lagging behind the price increase. Many have also predicted that it was a bull trap and I have confirmed it with my own analysis. Good thing that I have convert my Bitcoin into Fiat before the dip and I bought it back again when it hit 9,700$ I have now increased my Bitcoin position.

I already saw that it dip below $9K, but I guess someone nabs a few bitcoins and push the price instantly above $10K. I have been hearing about the bull trap in the last 3 weeks that I beginning to wonder that maybe, manipulators are artificially pumping bitcoin again, I thought it was a rally already to move past $11K, but then again, I'm always wrong with my prediction.

We will be entering February, I hope that everything will change for the better and we may see reversals, and price picking it up again to the tune of $12K-$15K so say the least.
10464  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: January 30, 2018, 06:07:08 PM
Roger Federer never allows himself to have it easy in any finals.
Especially the last Australian Open when he was playing against Nadal. He had to take a medical timeout when he looked like he was going to lose it but then after the break (inwhich I think if he didn't take it he would of lost to Rafael and then my bet of 50mbtc would of won ah well. Would've, could've!) he came back like a phoenix out of the fire to win it easily.
Sort of like this match which the final frame was 6-1 in Federer's favor

He managed to do it yet again.
The old dog in the tournament has his day! Grin
Congratulations Roger you can now retire and let the youngster have a go at it. Wink

Ah, Fedex really made me happy two Grand Slams in a row, but yeah, I thought he could have given himself an easier time. Both were tired by the final so I thought RF would have tried to bring it to a quick end, guess the Croatian wasn't quite ready to give up so easily. I said last year he had at least 1 left in him, and am happy to have bet on him having yet another. Probably best time to retire like you say while he's on a high but so tempting to have money on him again if he joins another tourney... the way he turns back the clock would make anyone get the shivers!

My betting's been really crap for the Women's, (even last year) so I should really probably stick to men's from now on.

I don't think he will retire soon, giving his form and motivation to go on. At the moment the other players are struggling with injuries (Murray, Nadal, Djokovic), so Federer has a good chance to win some more tournaments and grand slams!

He is not going to retire anytime soon as he said yesterday in a press conference that he is looking forward to coming back to Australia next year to play again and maybe breaking the record with a 7th Australian Open title. I actually would like to see him do it as he is the greatest player of all time. What Federer really needs now is another French Open title but it will be difficult for him if Nadal will be fit for the upcoming French Open. It would look much better if Federer has another French Open title in his trophy case but then again the same could be said for Nadal as his is mainly full of French Open titles.

Roger will not play anymore on clay.

I'm not so sure about that although I remember that he said that he will "limit" his play on clay. But I'm sure he wants to get those French title. It will be a "nice to haves" although clay is not his specially. Maybe he want's to limit but not totally eliminate the idea of chasing another French Open.

I have to agree, he will not retire, but he is very selective of what tournament he wants to play. So that he can rest his body and recuperate so that he can still play at par with the young generations.
10465  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin.Bitcoin.Bitcoin!!!!!!!!! on: January 30, 2018, 05:44:47 PM
With the way things are going right now, Bitcoin is fighting to be stable at least in the vicinity of the
$10K level support and though we are wishing for it to make some surges the way it did in the last
quarter of 2017, that may not be happening soon (am willing to be surprised though).

This can be the scenario leading others to conclude that we are
about to experience a longer than expected bearish market or worst a Bitcoin winter season this early part of the year.

Are you still optimistic that within this quarter Bitcoin will surprise us with an unexpected rise or will it
retreat further?

I'm still optimistic that February will bring us a positive sentiments and move bitcoin price above $12K. Right now we are just above $10K mark and its frustrating to see that we have started at the wrong foot this year.

But I know, that this will be a great buying opportunity, those who have been in line and wants to enter can bought it at this price, and maybe pushing it a bit to $11K. And when February comes in, I hope to see the price test $12K and see it its going to hold. Confident that this crypto winter will be over next month.
10466  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why crypto price down in January? on: January 30, 2018, 05:23:44 PM
The price of cryptocurrencies has been down the last three years in January. What is the reason for this regular dip?

I can't tell about the last 2 years, but this year, we have been suffering from a lot of FUD coming South Korea and then their the bitcoin future contracts expiration that has somewhat contributed to the price dipping further. Other says' because of the Chinese New year. Investor's cashing it out to celebrate that holiday.

Well its been a trend for the last 3 years but knowing bitcoin's volatile history, we can't really say for certain if this is a regular dip. Its almost end of the month, I hope things change for the better in February.
10467  Economy / Economics / Re: "Switzerland wants to be a crypto nation" Economic minister. on: January 30, 2018, 04:56:22 PM
I read this news at  https://www.fxstreet.com/news/swiss-ecomin-switzerland-wants-to-be-a-crypto-nation-201801300630  and its  really gladly my heart.
Economy minister Johann Schneider Ammann, Said "Switzerland want to be a crypto nation" as at the time when many developed and developing countries are expressing their negative options on cryptocoin and we are hearing news that many countries want to ban it. What is your take on this move or comments?

This is not new. Switzerland has been friendly to crypto. I bet you haven't heard that a school in Switzerland has started to accept bitcoin as tuition fee payment.  Though I can't remember if they are the first school to do it.

https://kryptomoney.com/schools-in-switzerland-accepts-tuition-fees-in-bitcoin/

This is really welcoming news because there are a lot of nation who are against bitcoin. At least we have one nation who is very open minded, willing to take the risk and embrace this new technology. Don't worry about those banning bitcoin and cyrpto. They really don't know how it can improved their economy and its not really design to be used by criminals.
10468  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Shyness in gambling on: January 30, 2018, 04:34:30 PM
Have you ever felt that you didn't play just because you were shy? I have felt this in casinos, and I just felt the pressure, but there's no need to be because everyone just minds their own business in gambling. Probably some people even pushed you to start gambling. I just thought about this because when I tried gambling for the first time in casinos, I don't know if it's okay to sit in tables whether the game is blackjack, poker, anything in the casino just so that I just felt shy because I'm a newbie.

Have you felt this way? I don't know if playing online casinos would have that effect also. What do you think?

Actually, there was one instance in the beginning that I was embarrassed because I didn't know that I need to put additional bet on the table. All the players are waiting for me to put the bet, but since I didn't know the rules then somewhat has pointed it to me and I became the joke on the table. lol. It was a blackjack or something.

But online? I don' think so, you are not playing against someone, there's no element in shyness present in there.

10469  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever stopped or removed from casino on: January 27, 2018, 12:31:01 PM
Kindly share your experience if you ever being faced situation where either you where not allowed to enter the casinos due to either improper attire, age verification issue etc.  Also anytime till now have you being removed from the casinos? It could be due to any of reasons e.g - Misbehaving or fighting, getting high and creating ruckus, caught cheating etc.

Share your true experience if you ever had to face any such situations or related to it any incident that occurred with you.

I was travelling abroad and happen to visit casinos but i was in flip flops and as per the rules a proper attire was must. I was not being allowed inspite of me explaining I cam from abroad and will be leaving tonight and was not aware of such policy etc. But they where strict with the rules and I had to return back form their.

NO. I haven't experienced that kind of attention because I always check what the proper etiquette of the casino that I'm going. I always wear the proper attire and I don't cheat because the likelihood that you are going to be ban across all casino's is very likely so I try to behave as much as I can.

Yes, there are a lot of casino's in my place that not allowing anyone to enter in flipflops, whether your local or foreigner. That's how it is so everyone should follow.

Care to share what casino it was?
10470  Economy / Speculation / Re: Transaction fees going down~ on: January 25, 2018, 12:21:03 AM
Because the network spam has somewhat stopped. Or it could be that there are less transactions, or people are moving to Segwit already. I try to test it myself (legacy address) today and pay around 300 satoshi/byte, and it was instant (well probably < 7 minutes). That's was the quickest transaction I my so far. But I still prefer Segwit, way way cheaper.

That's really a good progress. This situation would improve more if all of us start using Segwit addresses completely. It was really a bad time to pay such a high fee of dollars for even lower amounts.

Yup, using Segwit should be the norm now. You don't have to pay high tx fees and it will gradually reduces the network the traffic.
10471  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Deeper price of bitcoin, how much do you expect it? on: January 24, 2018, 11:47:17 PM
Bitcoin price now was continuously declining, do you think that their value touches the $1,000 value again?

How much do you think bitcoin fall down?

Do you think this coin will recover again or not?

I think if in a week, bitcoin touches the price of 8000 dollars, it will likely return to 1000 dollars, but if it's the opposite then bitcoin will touch 50.000 dollars by mid month, that's just my speculation about bitcoin ...

Do you mean mid year? We are already in the last week of January so I doubt that it can get to $50K. But I would have agree that sometime around June-July we may see the price breaking $50K barrier.

It won't go below $10K or even $1K, because there's a lot of support on that price. The price is already moving to $11K-$11.3, and I'm expecting that by the end of the week we can get to $12K again. CBoE bitcoin future contracts are going to expire, and then after that, more investors who are just waiting will get into the market pushing the price.

I have some kind of a feeling that Cilic might win this years Australian Open.
He's playing pretty well.
Best year of his career for sure!

Trophy is still up for grabs but I must say that Roger Federer is the favorite and its really hard to beat him right now. Although  Chung has been performing above expectations, he will face a wall against Roger.

Cilic is also showing exceptionally well in the tournament. I bet he can beat Edmund, but then again a final match up with Roger is a different story. I feel that Roger is not even exerting much effort on his win and have a lot of gas in his tank if push comes to shove.
10473  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: January 24, 2018, 11:10:42 PM
Against the San Antonio Spurs, Lebron James has the opportunity to hit the 30,000 career regular season points because he is currently seven points shy of making that mark, he would have been able to do it in their last game against the OKC Thunder but they were no match for them at all,
The King Lebron James joins the club of 30K points with Michael "Air" Jordan the GOAT. But the downside for Lebron in this game is that they are on the losing side. It should been happier if they won the game.

That is just a one single game. The milestone of 30,000 points is hard to achieved.

Those haters still criticized LeBron James that he only able to achieved that because he entered the league on young age, fuck that reason? It's really James fault if he can shoot most of the time? Is it James fault that he can maintained his healthy status every season? It's useless if a player enters the league even at 15 years old if he can't do offensive properly.

Well haters gonna hate. And that's one feat that is very hard to accomplished. Though we should also take note that there's still one active player who is also a member of the 30K club (Dirk Nowitzki).

I read that they are trying to trade Shumpert to Sacramento. There's a lot of things going wrong with them right now. So I guess a good trade is really needed to bring fresh air to the team.
10474  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto faster and cheaper?? on: January 21, 2018, 08:52:27 PM
I just made a purchase using Bitcoin today.
The receiver has yet to receive the Bitcoin sent over an hour ago.
And...I was charged $17 in fees (using Coinbase) to complete this transaction!!
How is this digital currency the "thing of the future"??
If I had paid with credit card, my purchase would have been final in seconds with no additional fees.
What is the real advantage of this voodoo currency??

With your rank, you obviously know that we have this situation, high tx frees and slow confirmation. That's why I was quite surprise you asking that basic questions, unless you have some intentions (bad).

It's the thing of the future because we haven't seen this kind of technology, well sort of. And there has been solutions being laid out, but being tested on mainnet and that is Lightning Network. Also why the hell are you using coinbase as wallet?

No this voodoo currency has no advantage. Much better if you stay away with it because you really don't know what it's purpose anyways, go back to your Visa card and see how much they are going to charge you if you don't settle your bills on time.
10475  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is 2018 the downfall of bitcoin? on: January 21, 2018, 07:37:50 PM
*Newbie Here!* Because of fluctuations in the value of bitcoin, is 2018 going to be the biggest downfall of bitcoin? What do you think?

Price of bitcoin January 2017: $750-$1K
Price of bitcoin January 2018: $13K-$14K
Price of bitcoin January 2019: Huh??

Historical data shows that year-to-year bitcoin grows exponentially. So I don't know what you think, but for, I really have no doubt that bitcoin will still go up up to the end of the year. And sorry to burst the bubble but it won't just go down.

Problem lies in stability of the Bitcoin. As because of high fluctuation it is difficult for a party to accept bitcoin. I believe it is the major factor affecting bitcoin reputation.

Price volatility is part of the ecosystem, so everyone who's on board should already know that they have to accept it otherwise, they should get out of it. They have no reason to complain about it.
10476  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC fall again within a few days? on: January 21, 2018, 01:23:03 PM
I still believe BTC will rise again in the coming days ahead because it has already had its fall so next is time for BTC to grow very high. So it will be very good to get some BTC now and wait for a rise in the next days.

Of course it can rise in the coming days. However, we need to hurdle this test again, it's really fluctuating as we speak. And its not that 'stable' still. I want to see and test $13.5 and see how will it hold. If we can hold it for a few days and keep seeing a gradual increase, then we are in the recovery phase by then. If not, then bears and bulls are fighting as to who will be on top. Let's see how it pans out in the next coming days. I hope that we can see the market going green once more and the the price started to pick up
10477  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Satoshi Nakamoto will reveal himself one day ? on: January 21, 2018, 12:59:38 PM
I am looking forward to the day that the great Satoshi Nakamoto will reveal who he is, If he is a person or who they are if they are a group. Are you looking forward to knowing Satoshi  Nakamoto ? Do you think he will reveal him self?

Why would you think the Satoshi would just surface? And NO, I'm not looking forward to knowing Satoshi. He may have been 6 feet under the ground by now, so the likelihood of him appearing on the next centuries is 0.

He has already given us his creation, and we should appreciate what has he done and be thankful. Satoshi disappeared in thin air for personal reasons. And we should respect it like that, and just enjoy what he has given to us.
10478  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blood-Bath Over? on: January 21, 2018, 07:44:11 AM
I thought it was over but looking at today BTC/ETH charts and total market cap, I worry again  Undecided

Yup, I also be worried if I were you because the market is bleeding once more. We have just recovered from it 48 hours ago but it seems that marketcap is down to 582M and around 40M-50M has been wipe out in just a matter of hours.

But then again, we have seen it already, and don't panic sell but instead get it while its in red. The bears is back and somewhat push the bull again. But this is just temporary and I'm sure that we can go over with this correction like we did previously.
10479  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is momentum from bears is weakneing now as BTC breaks above 12K? on: January 21, 2018, 07:25:49 AM
The bears are being pushed back and the bulls are taking over again. The bears could not force the price any lower than they did and now they cannot keep the price down. $13k is achieved and soon it will be $15k or more.

I guess we spoke to soon as the bears are clawing back and bulls being pushed away. $13K was achieved already however, it looks like are taking significant dips as the price is going below $12K now. But just like a lot of you guys, I'm still optimistic that this isn't a bull trap as other's have suggested.

There seems to be no momentum from either side right now which shows signs of uncertainty. Therefore I do agree that the bears' momentum has stopped at these levels, but the bulls are also not so determined to buy.

not necessarily uncertainty or sideways since there has not been any kind of drop ever since the recovery from the drop discount.
this can very well be an accumulation phase for getting ready to start the next rally upwards. and with the volume still pretty high i'd say it makes sense. if we see a testing dump we can take that as the indication of the beginning of the rally.

I guess this is just a dumping dump? Really hope that it is so that we can rally and push the price to like $15K which I feel comfortable with.
10480  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Breaking: Bitcoin trading banned in India ?????? on: January 21, 2018, 06:05:34 AM
It looks like a fake news intended to create a new dump where speculators will be able to buy cheap coins. I guess that news nowadays collude with speculators.

Indication of things to come....

It could be. Looks like the market it turning red again. India is still neutral as far as I'm concern. So its not banning crypto trading as of the moment. This is another FUD to create panic amongst us.

It could be some of the accounts are become a lobby of illegal money that's why banks shut down those accounts.  In other side  it will greatly affect the economy of cryptocurrency. Perhaps we can expect another dip of coin market. India is one of the biggest traders banning them will cause avalanche in the market. We can expect worse to it. Hoping it just like in South Korea news which turn out it was fake news.

Short term, yes, it could really affect the market because of government closing its door to bitcoin or crypto in general. However, it didn't mean that its the end of bitcoin. Bitcoin has a proven record to recover from a market corrections. This is not something new that we haven't overcome. Another test, but long run bitcoin price will go up again.
