Now how do you defend this

http://freethoughtnation.com/un-muslim-states-reject-ban-on-violence-against-women-as-violating-islamic-law/

Very peaceful!!!! I mean they have an issue with reforms from UN as UN wants them to treat their women and girls as equally human as they are. They have an issue with that?? They procedure rape victims!!! For adultery and immortality when they are just been over powered in most common cases and this is peace REALLY???
Again same mistake. I am not here to defend the so called'Muslim Nations' or there deeds.I came here to read the title of this thread which is very offensive to Muslim like me.
What a ridiculous contradiction you guys call Muslims violent and accuse us of spreading hatred but we never create such offensive threads for other religions. You peace loving guys do Smiley

Huh

Are you offended that we reprint and discuss this quote?  Who are you offended by?  Us, or the Kuwait News Agency?

Is it absurd to keep women from driving?
Peace...

Yes it is but it is also is absurd to relate it to Islam. If something wrong happens in a country that has Muslim majority,it shouldn't be assumed as islamic. If keeping women from driving was islamic, other muslim countries were also following it.Remember Pakistan and Bangladesh where women became head of the state. We have yet to see that happens in US.Should I assume Christianity is keeping women to become US prez?

My opinion of what's going on (for what it's worth) is that Islam conjures a vision of a "Utopia," no different than Communism did so.  But today we know from hard, bitter experience that the reality of Communist societies is dark, fearful and poverty stricken, not anything like the ideal laid out by Marx.  And this is no different than many other "Utopian visions."

Here I reference the general topic of Utopia, with it's many variations - all of which have failed.  Every single one.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utopia

It seems reasonable to consider the vast difference between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Jordon, Iran, etc with the "Islamic ideal" as just another failure - in practice - of the Utopian vision of Islam, rather than to argue (true Scotsman fallacy) that "Those are not True Islam."

This point of view would account for those societies where tolerance, free speech and free trade exist, being more successful even though a fair fraction of the population is Muslim.  I suspect many political leaders understand these issues.

EXCLUSIVE: 'Hillary is lonely, has trouble expressing her feelings and yearns for an intimate relationship with a powerful woman,' claims noted shrink who puts the presidential hopeful on the couch

Hillary Clinton is a lonely woman who has trouble expressing her feelings.

So says Dr. Alma Bond, a psychoanalyst and author who holds a PhD from Columbia University and did post doctorate studies from the Freudian Society. She has been studying Hillary Clinton from afar for many years.

The Democratic presidential candidate has difficulty with men and she needs a woman friend on her same political level that she can share strategy or top secret events of the day.

Dr. Bond suggests that Hillary, 67,  has unsuccessfully looked for a female equal for years, despite the closeness of her assistant and closest aide, Huma Abedin

Sure does seem like the media or their masters want to this to be a Trump vs. Bush primary fight w/ the others being just fillers to cloud out the real anti-establishment candidate of Rand Paul. Fox just aired a press conference that Trump had in IA tonight and while he does pretty well in this format, he's weak on so many of the issues in terms of being from a liberty prospective. I'd like to believe that he's this rich guy that wants to make the US rich and great again all the while not being bought by special interests like he says but I'm not buying that. Lastly, we don't need an egomaniac in charge of a large military during desperate times.
You mean, we don't need Obama in char....

Fuck, these are crazy times, aren't they?

I agree except the Islamic country part. That is, even if people standing there are Muslims, they will certainly try to rescue that woman. I don't know "how" her father stopped "everyone".  There are many problems in that story. Btw, does anybody when this happened? I mean day and time?
Okay, so you see it the same way.

Because if that dad actually did "stop everyone," then unless he was truly someone feared (Gangster, Prince, ISIS) it's a very strange story.  Very strange even then, almost makes no sense.

As the story is told though, it focuses on the puritan religious aspect.
10526  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do islam hates people? on: August 25, 2015, 08:02:48 PM
I'm a muslim, do i hate people or other region? of course no. In my family there are several Islamic, Catholic, Protestant. We respect each other despite our different religions.

Most of the example I bring are not people from other religions... I understand if you haven't been through all the posts. It is a big thread. One example is post #2, or post #2336...

 Smiley
....post #2336 was about father not letting others to rescue his daughter. I suspect it was an Islamic thing too. Because father could have rescued her and in Islam, there is no rule preventing others from rescuing her. Al though, men can't see or touch women, there are certain situations where it is allowed and education & medical treatment are two of those.

Well, Zakir, I do not think this is correct.  I know you are TECHNICALLY correct, but for an average Muslim - let's say one that's not too smart, reads almost nothing, but who strictly tries to be righteous - I can see how he would make this error.

Then you have to deal with the cultural reality - that nobody protested his insane actions - that nobody went out to save the girl regardless of the nutcase carrying on.

There's about fourteen problems in that story, related to Islamic culture and Islam.  You know what?  If I'd been there, I would have gone out and saved the girl, beating the dad senseless if that was required, and being totally scared about what might have happened afterwards.

Probably best outcome would have been time spent in some total shithole of a jail.

Way different than being praised as a hero who saved someone's life, isn't it?

How about that.

Islamic Fundamentalists Threaten Muslim-Born Model For Entering Miss Italy Beauty Pageant…

A young model of Moroccan origin is determined to ignore insults and threats she has received on social media and pursue her dream of becoming Miss Italy.

Ahlam El Brinis, 20, was born in Padua to Moroccan parents and has been selected for the semi-final of the Miss Italy beauty contest, which will take place in the coastal town of Jesolo on September 20th.

She lives in Montebelluna near Treviso.

“I would like to keep religion out of Miss Italy,” she told Italian media.

“Miss Italy is a beauty contest, religion doesn’t enter into it and I don’t want everything focused on that.”

El Brinis was selected for the title of Miss Elegance for the north-east region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and is due to take part in the semi-final of this year’s national contest.

Her provocative photographs featuring her in scantily clad bikinis and lingerie have provoked a barrage of insults and threats against her on social media for dishonouring Islam.

“Insults and threats don’t hurt me,” she told La Tribuna di Treviso newspaper.

“I will follow my own path. I have the total support of my family and my boyfriend Christian who uses social media to defend me.”

El Brinis says she was raised Muslim but is a non-practising Muslim.

“Everyone is free to choose and follow their religion in their own way,” she said in an interview. “I am aware that there are more conservative people who might think that I am mistaken about what I do.

“But honestly that doesn’t interest me because I have my family’s support and that is enough for me.

Scientists May Have Lied To Promote EPA’s Global Warming Agenda

Scientists may have lied about the EPA’s involvement in a recent study put out earlier this year claiming Obama administration regulations on carbon dioxide emissions will save thousands of lives every year.

Emails obtained by the blog JunkScience.com’s Steve Milloy show Harvard University and Syracuse University researchers involved in the study consulted with the EPA while conducting their study, contradicting their previous statements the study was done independently of the agency.

“Emails obtained from EPA through the Freedom of Information Act show that Harvard University, Syracuse University and two researchers falsely claimed a study supporting EPA’s upcoming global warming rules was conducted ‘independent’ of the agency,” Milloy wrote.....
What, exactly, is your problem?

If they don't communicate with the EPA, how are they supposed to know what their scientific results should be?

But that's me - I don't care, either.

Jeb Bush Trashes Trump In Spanish TV Interview – Promises Amnesty

Noting the strong “Hispanic influence” in his family, GOP presidential candidate Jeb Bush vowed that, if elected, he’d enact the comprehensive immigration reform that President Barack Obama promised, but failed, to achieve.

In a nearly half-hour interview with Telemundo Monday, a portion of which was aired on MSNBC, Bush, speaking entirely in Spanish, also told anchor Jose Diaz-Balart that he was “hurt” by GOP presidential primary rival Donald Trump’s comments about illegal immigrants from Mexico.

“I was hurt hearing somebody speaking in such a vulgar fashion,” he said. “This makes the solving of this problem much more difficult when we have politicians talking like that.

“Besides that, he was offending millions of people that are here legally. It makes no sense. In a political sense, it’s bad and it creates an environment that is worse. … And I believe it’s important that I as a candidate offer a more optimistic version than Trump’s negativeness.”

To be Honest Mr.Trump would be a bad president because his first name is Donald. Deez Nuts should win presidency because the other picks are dweeblords. I also don't think he should be president because I watched him on his T.V show and he seems too mean to be the president of the U.S.A.

The Hispanic newspapers of Texas and Los Angeles I read don't seem to be full of hate for Trump.
10536  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Up Like Trump on: August 22, 2015, 07:22:44 PM
You could add Ted Cruz.  But both Cruz and Rand Paul appeal to a limited subgroup of Republicans.

Trump's appeal as I see it, is very mainstream.

I doubt whether Trump is "mainstream". The establishment republicans (especially Jeb Bush and Ben Carson) hates him, and they would like to paint him as a fringe element. He does not have much support among the Republican leadership. Paul and Cruz are definitely not mainstream. They are diametrically opposite to the Establishment lobby.
It doesn't matter if they "would like to paint him as fringe" etc.  He is mainstream in his thoughts and behavior.  Doesn't matter who hates him, of course the others who compete with him for presidency would "hate him."
10537  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Sexuality on: August 22, 2015, 06:42:36 PM
If this is a steady climb towards less people being hetro with each generation, what is driving it? Environmental or Propaganda?
Is this natures way of controlling the herd!

There is not enough evidence to prove your argument. The LGBT population might be increasing in the United States, European Union, Australia and Canada, but it is declining everywhere else (Russia, China, India, Africa.etc). Large number of LGBT people from countries such as Iran and Russia are immigrating to the US and EU. That might be one of the reasons for the increasing LGBT population there.

I think you're wrong.
The fact that the LGBT population is growing in some countries, and in some decreases, in my opinion does not reflect the true state of affairs.
Where there are no legal restrictions and negativity of society, and where they have the freedom of expression, members of the LGBT community does not have to hide and therefore statistics show an increase in their overall population.
Where they are legally prosecuted they are hiding and authorities don't know their total number.
If this is a steady climb towards less people being hetro?
I don't think so.
I think that in the past and now we always had LGBT people among us, just we didn't talk about it before as we talk today.
Now, we are talking a lot about this issue so it seems that we have now less hetro and more LGBT but this is wrong conclusion in my opinion.
Of course, because of propaganda today many young people are confuse about their sexual identity and need help.

Only if the Pink Mafia can convince you that they "represent"  large section of the population, instead of a ridiculously small section, can they push you and me around and get what they want.

I don't even KNOW any gay or lesbians that aren't somewhat offended by these Fascists alleging they "represent" the LGT community.

I enjoy using Google services and I think they are some of the best online services around, but when I step back and think about it it is pretty crazy how much Google knows about me.
Many of their services are not terribly great.  The Chrome browser, for example.  Google+, for another example.

There's no reason to allow a data aggregator like Google to have access to your every thought through a browser interface.  That's your decision.

You got the first part right, the second part has yet to be determined, because no one knows what Trumps message is. I'm not sure he does. Trump buys stuff from China while complaining about them stealing U.S. jobs, yet, he keeps the wheels turning for them and him by buying their stuff. How is that good for anyone else? http://abcnews.go.com/Business/donald-trump-sells-chinese-goods-accusing-china-stealing/story?id=31826791 Like I said, I don't think he has a clue what his message is.

Trump says he's going to do a lot of things very quickly, which tells me absolutely nothing.
True. Trump seems like he is trying to say whatever he can to get elected, whereas Sanders seems like he knows who he is and what his personal beliefs are, and will stand by them, even if they are unpalatable to a relative majority of the country.

A Staunch and Loyal Marxist!
10540  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [Vote] Who did 911? on: August 22, 2015, 05:16:54 AM
.....

Ah, that's it. You aren't seeking answers. You are seeking the best conspiracy theories.

My mistake. I had understood that you believed the official story... which is a conspiracy theory in itself. Here, all along, you were simply looking for conspiracy theories that might be better than the official story.

So, what makes a conspiracy theory a good one for you? Are you looking for the best plausibility along with a point that makes it impossible? Is it better if it has more emotion involved? Does it need really clever intrigue, like many of Isaac Asimov's sci-fi stories? What makes a good conspiracy theory for you? And why didn't you simply say in the first place that all you were interested in was the theories? We could have avoided a whole lot of misunderstanding.

Smiley
I did say that - repeatedly.  I had the impression that believers in one or another theory who responded were terribly quick to stereotype anyone who questioned them as a government agent or something of the like.  Basically, still just a way to avoid articulating a working hypothesis on the conspiracy.

It's true, though, that "raising questions" does not refute the official story and does not articulate another working theory.  It's also true that ALL of the "Alternative Explanations" mentioned in this thread were very easy to debunk.

I guess one reason for that is that most people don't know much about materials science, but still, that addresses more the doubt about the official story than the provision of a decent alternative.

As just one example one of your "Questions" is concerning "no known method molten metal could remain" at the bottom of a pile of rubble.  This isn't true - studies have been made on this very subject.  If concentrated, focused sunlight was used to melt Lunar soil, what sized pit of molten soil formed during the 300+ hour Lunar day would hold it's temperature over the 300+ hour Lunar night?

You can see this would be an important question for a manned base of several months or years duration.  You can also see the fact that these types of questions have been studied.  Moreover they can be answered with partial differential methods of heat transfer used in second and third year college engineering curriculums.

When a statement is made, it is considered true until a counter-statement shows that it is false. Questions don't change the statement. Questions exist to get the statement maker to check into his own statement to see if he made a mistake. If the statement maker won't answer, especially in things of government, a counter-statement maker will make a counter-statement that is considered true until it can be refuted. In the face of many unanswered questions, the counter-statement becomes evident without being made directly.

Where was the mirror or lens that concentrated the sun's light to make the pools of molten metal in the basement darkness of the Towers?

Smiley
I don't think you need to lecture me on formal debate, or what is considered true and by whom.

Not that what you've said (bolded) is true in any case.

For example, things can be ignored because they are ridiculous.  Like asking "where was the mirror" when your question should have been "where originated the necessary joules or btus of energy."

What's the matter? You feel like you are being lectured?  Cheesy

You were the one who talked about molten metal being made that way by focusing the sun's rays. Solomon says in Proverbs 26:4,5:
Quote
Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you will be like him yourself.

Answer a fool according to his folly, or he will be wise in his own eyes.
So, at the very least I knew you would come back with something like this.

Smiley
If you are unable to look at a matter such as "keeping a pool of metal molten" as a simple problem of energy in and out, and the amounts of that energy may be calculated based on the heat capacity of the insulative materials and the metal, then you have no business using words such as "folly."

You asked the question about molten metal, you got the answer.  You may have not LIKED the answer, but that's okay.

And no, I am not "seeking answers" about 911, because there isn't any part of what happens that seems a big mystery or unexplained to me.
