well.... at least okcoin is tanking and btc-e overbought

BTC-E overbought? Not so sure about that as it is lower than other exchange rates and it also didn't peak any higher today. Definitely not overbought.
10562  Other / Meta / Re: User creating massive amounts of referral spam - Magic Of Nigeria on: August 08, 2015, 03:16:28 PM
Who is this marcy clown spamming the entire forum with links that are probably virusses. Can some one ban this idiot?
10563  Other / Off-topic / Re: Windows 10: do not upgrade on: August 08, 2015, 02:54:14 PM
If you are a bunch of wise bitcoiners you should not definitely upgrade to Windows 10.

For a series of simple reasons:

a. it's buggy;
b. if you don't revise the privacy settings you'll end up share everything with Windows;
c. why it is given for free from a corporation like that? Easy and clean because you're the product for them;
d. it has been presented as the best windows ever: it is not;
e. cortana is useless.

the list goes on and on...

I will definitely not upgrade windows 7 to windows 10 on my main computer. But I am seriously considering doing it on my laptop which has windows 8.1 installed. I really don't like windows 8  Lips sealed

I think I will wait a few more months to let Microsoft implement important bugfixes before I install windows 10.

Back to the 220-240 range it seems, that's okay

Sure! I love buying a few more coins in that range  Smiley

Blockchain.info has plenty of bugs for quite a long time now, it's getting embarrassing knowing that they don't get fixed. Long live blockr.io!!

10567  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 10k when? on: August 08, 2015, 07:14:34 AM
Soon, maybe by the end of the year. Big Wall Street money is coming in right now, bigger money than bitcoin has ever seen. They haven't hit the bottom of their liquidity pool yet, but they will.

Can you tell me what you smoke? Not sure if you're serious or just trolling. If indeed serious, then I feel sorry for you.

Just NO.
10569  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.11.0 slow block sync. on: August 08, 2015, 07:04:26 AM
it need not necessarily be a slow download. Checking the blocks takes probably more time these days. This depends on your hardware. Is everything the same system wise if you compare to the system you ran earlier versions on?

Yeah, it's the same system. Hardware shouldn't be an issue as it is just a few years old. Checking blocks isn't the problem, it's purely the syncing process.

There's a small chance that all the peers you're connected to are slow. Close it and delete peers.dat. On the next start it will get fresh peers. Or if you know a quick node you can add it manually with the -addnode=<ip> command. You can submit it on the command line, conf file or debug window.

Did everything you mentioned but with no success so far. I noticed yesterday that while the wallet showed it is 28 hours behind, an incomming transaction popped up made 2 hours before opening my wallet to sync. Which is quite weird as the wallet was showing it was more than a day behind. Does that mean it does sync properly and the problem is in fact the wallet showing incorrect information?
10570  Other / Meta / Re: bitcointalk is pathetic on: August 06, 2015, 01:47:24 PM
It's not BCT that's pathetic but the trolls who keep creating many accounts everyday just to pass their time are making this forum look pathetic. The amount of scammers too are increasing and they are just waiting to scam via PayPal almost everyday.

Yep, trolls and scammers can easily create plenty of accounts and continue with trolling and scamming, and why can they do it? Because the administrator or owner doesn't want to limit the amount of accounts that can be created per ip. Also, to create an account you don't even need to insert a real email address where you will receive a confirmation of signup email.  Roll Eyes Of course this forum will be full of clowns and fools like it is already, how can you guys be so surprised.....
10571  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: newbie on: August 06, 2015, 01:33:01 PM
I would start by reading and understanding what bitcoin is first. You can read the white paper via the link below, where it says "the gospel according to Satoshi".
As far as the best coin? I only use bitcoin. Litecoin has some following, but almost all alt-coins are a train wreck and some are outright scams. I would avoid them until you completely understand the bitcoin protocol. At which point you will want to avoid them.

Some? You mean 90% of the altcoins are outright scams, if not more. Right?

hi. i would like to know if i can have more than 1 wallet for bitcoin, litecoin, dogecoin. and which are the best. i also would like that if the moderator could reply me. thanks

You can download a wallet for each of these coins. The Core versions of the wallets are used the most as far as Bitcoin and Litecoin goes. For dogecoin there are plenty of wallets, but if I was you I would stick to the wallets that the official coin sites offer.
10572  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest problem with Bitcoin on: August 06, 2015, 01:26:39 PM
after a few weeks playing with bitcoin, for me, the biggest problem are the FEES.

People keep spreading the wrong message that bitcoin fees are cheaper than fiat-c, and sometimes people says that bitcoin don't have fees.... BUT in fact, i never paid fees in fiat-c transactions, they are free in europe, and in bitcoin i am paying fees in every transaction... I am playing with some wallets, moving some bits from one to another and i pay fees that are bigger than the amount i am transferring! this is a huge NO for new users.

People here in europe are accustomed to free transactions and when they see the fees in bitcoin, they turn down bitcoin world. it is very sad Sad I am a bit disappointed too, if i am honest Sad

You don't have to pay any fee if you send coins from A to B. It will/might take quite a bit longer to confirm compared to when you do add a custom fee. Miners have the power to accept which transactions they will include in their block, which mostly are the transactions with fee. Order your transactions, if a certain transaction of you has quite a bit priority, then add a fee. If it's not important, then do a very low fee, or no fee at all. If you're lucky it may confirm within a few blocks, but it can also take plenty of hours if not more than a day.

Bump. I really cannot wait for the Premier League to start up again. I've missed it. Anyone got their predictions for who the champions will be this year? I think it all depends on the new signings teams get really.

1 arsenal
2 chelsea
3
4

Can't see arsenal winning it. I think it'll be between United and Chelsea. Arsenal third maybe. Top five predictions:

Man U
Chelsea
Arsenal
Man C
Spurs

While looking at your name it looks like you are quite biased  Wink United has a decent team, but not better than Chelsea.

10575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why hash rate dropped so much? on: August 05, 2015, 02:52:45 PM
It is also possible that maybe a pool went down.
BTW decrease in hash rate shouldn't be happening now.
If this would have been halving block time then it would have been acceptable.

If you look at the chart it shows more of these large swings. It's just temporarily. It will go back up again if it didn't already, nothing to worry about.
10576  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: how much can you make weekly? on: August 05, 2015, 02:48:10 PM

yeha i don't like it either, that's why i love the unlimited thing of bit-x because i can post tons of post with one account only, without going against the rules
just out of curiosity , what was the largest payout you guys had on bit-x when it was unlimited posts?

I heard they can make BTC0.5 a week especially those in high ranks. Imagine that big earnings. They can have 2 BTCitcoin per month or let's just say they can make a sure 100% 1 BTCitcoin within a month.

What the F...? 0.5BTC per week? I was very happy when I was earning around 0.02BTC per week from Bitmixer more than a month ago  Cheesy
10577  Economy / Speculation / Re: 8600 btc being offered up for sale at $5.25 on: August 05, 2015, 02:36:53 PM
Even user kwukduck sold for more lol.

Nah, kwukduck & co is a buyer, he doesn't sell. He's trying to make you guys sell. Cheesy
10578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When getting a merchant to take Bitcoin on: August 05, 2015, 02:20:12 PM
I think a tablet is more than enough. I know some bars here that accept Bitcoin use tablet devices to get the job done. They surely would want to use something like BitPay if they at some point will accept Bitcoin payments, especially if they don't exactly know what Bitcoin is. They will just receive the fiat from all the sales and don't have to worry about fluctuations.

They just show you a QR code that you scan with your smartphone camera, and bemmmm, payment sent! And you're good to go, and they have their fiat probably the next day on their bank account.

Yeah, it's the same system. Hardware shouldn't be an issue as it is just a few years old. Checking blocks isn't the problem, it's purely the syncing process.

Since the version before the 0.11.0 I have to deal with very slow block syncing. Downloading 2 hours worth of blocks can literally take 15 to 20 minutes, which is crazy. Never had this problem before.

Active connections to the Bitcoin network seem to be fine as they are between 8-15 on average.

Same for me. It's really slow.. Not sure if I'll be able to keep using Bitcoin Core wallet for a long time..

Well, for me Bitcoin Core is the only pc wallet I will use because it does was what I want, but lately it's quite annoying having to wait so long to just sync a few hours worth of blocks while it only took 2 or 3 minutes with the previous versions.

Today Bayern Munchen - Real Madrid. Looking forward to the match already, I think Bayern will win.
