1061  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Closed - Group Buy]Dualminer USB ASIC sha/scrypt miner $85 [USA Only][Batch #2] on: February 15, 2014, 11:29:16 PM
i dont even have enough btc right now to cover what your asking.. but i can cover the difference of what we paid in .107 to what is now $85

im sure most could.. i wonder if theres a way to lock in the purchase with dualminer at the price and just charge everyone whos on the list the difference of what was paid to 85 bucks.. if people back out im sure youd be able to flip the leftovers to sbfree or ebay them for $120

that is what $85 is right now.

Believe me if i had the coin i would of gotten them already.

Didn't someone earlier in the thread promise to buy the remaining?

Yea but I haven't heard from them since then.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the way I see it is there are two problems.

1 - You don't have enough orders to hit 300
2 - The btc you have is not worth what it was when you started accepting orders.

Is this the problem?

you got it.. with btc tanking at the price now we are short .023 per dualminer

yeah where is sbfree!! he needs to "lock em up"

but what im wondering is, even if you keep this open to fill the GB amnt, youd still be short the money to send to dualminer as everyone paid less than the price.. so keeping this open wont be useful.. the only way at this point is to have everyone pay the difference of 0.023 per item and quickly place the order

1066  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [Sold Out] 4 Gridseed GC3355 LTC/Scrypt/Sha256/BTC Miners (0.4BTC) on: February 15, 2014, 04:57:35 PM
I got mine in yesterday, took a little work to get it running but it definitely is up and running and hashing around 250-300kh/s, theres a firmware upgrade I may try later.

Thanks man!
1067  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [In stock] Gridseed 5-chips USB miner - $259 on: February 15, 2014, 02:08:13 AM
do these have the latest 500kh/s firmware? or is that a custom thing from lightningasic?

Custom thing from lightningasic that won't be open source.

Can you elaborate on this non-open source "custom thing" at all?

Sure lightning asic made their own firmware for the control units and they aren't going to make it open source.

So only units on that control wiibox they provide will pull 500k?
1068  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: SCRYPT ASIC miner ready. BTC+LTC ASIC , combo.Open sale now. on: February 14, 2014, 05:51:05 PM
I wonder what people think of the following I dragged from a vertocoin thread:

"[–]D4wn0ff473 7 points 4 days ago*

First of all these asics are jokes. The hash power for both btc and ltc is not worth the price. The only thing that makes them worth the price is the 7w of power usage for 300Kh/s on solo scrypt ventures, but the 8gh/s for btc mining at 100w is not going to make a dent in the current pedohash network power. Even going after other 256 coins on the btc side would not be worth it because most of those networks are already drowning in asics and fpgas. Even if you had a a couple hundred of them you would still not be making a decent enough dent to have roi ever especially with the current price.

But alpha technologies has 5mh/s and 25mh/s scrypt asics that will be shipping in a few months. Not to mention that sluicebit has 2 and 4 mh/s scrypt fpga's that will be shipping soon. The game will soon be over for scrypt coins with no differential built in like vert does. But I really feel bad for the people who wasted and will waste their money on these asics. The company obviously saw the train coming of the larger asics and fpgas so they sped up dev to get these out as fast as possible. They will be outdated and worhtless in a few months and the owners will never have a chance to make the majority of their money back
."

Discuss.

is alpha t even real? site looks scammy to me
1069  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Introduction to DualMiner USB (could mine both BTC and LTC) on: February 14, 2014, 10:19:50 AM
I have an issue where my dualminers stop hashing in the middle of the night, I leave them at work so by the time I get in the office to reset them I've already lost precious mining hours

http://imgur.com/HmfeMsd

it looks like it's still connected to my pool, but my miner's status page on wafflepool says 0.00kh/s and it's not accepting any new shares.

Im running it via batch file as the dualminer software gives me too many HW errors (10% or more)
1070  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Closed - Group Buy]Dualminer USB ASIC sha/scrypt miner $85 [USA Only][Batch #2] on: February 14, 2014, 12:28:30 AM

Hmmm Heres a good question on what to do..

300 miners costs currently this much.

If you break that down its about BTC0.127 a unit.
And I am asking BTC.107
If you times that by 300 I am short by BTC5.71.. so now the question is what to do.

I have opened up a Donations address to help get that amount.
19xqsnKifbdNQWRcAePYkYhGN8xd4Bosdp

There are 27 of us listed, if we all chip in we're looking at BTC ~0.21148148 each. Just an idea.

then you run into the issue where guy X only ordering 1 dualminer, where guy Z ordering 20.. should both pitch in the same amnt?

I just want this batch closed so order can be placed....I will take whatever is left to close it out....just need you to send me the amount due....I will be up for at least another 6- 8 hrs....I will send once I know the amount....

also, are transactions confirming properly now? or is there still possible delays due to bitcoin bug?

Thanks for biting the bullet on this one! Smiley
