1061  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 07, 2023, 03:08:52 PM
What an eventful night! It was packed with drama and an amazing Jackson Hat-trick.
Tottenham's goalkeeper made some important saves; otherwise, the score could have been even worse. Despite receiving two red cards, Tottenham held Chelsea off until the very end, revealing the strength of this current Spurs team. Chelsea, on the other hand, struggled against 9 men, which indicates their current weaknesses. Chelsea's performance against 9 men wasn't great, but they got lucky. Overall, Chelsea team seems to have some work to do. Congratulations to them for seizing the opportunities and winning the match.
Tottenham fans criticized Chelsea for playing against 9 players, but they failed to acknowledge their own players' mistakes in committing serious fouls.
Ange was not feeling good with the result as well as son. I can see that from his expression after the match ended. Son, has been trying so hard in making the situation even better but he can't.

I think that anyone shall only care with the result on the board. People with good sense will not care with some drama but the result is something that being determined as the result from the match that has already happened before.
The same Tottenham fans criticizing Chelsea for playing against two man down Tottenham team are forgetting so quick that it was almost same drama that happened in their favour that they had to play against 9 man Liverpool team three weekends ago and got a victory against them, this is karma reoccurring.

Ange Postecoglou tactic of defending from the midfield (upline defense ) with a two man down was lame. It is common that any coach will sit the defense in the 18th yard box to reduce pressure and goals but  Spur manager couldn't think of that and Chelsea hard to capitalize on the silly tactic with counter attacks. The EPL table will be gradually taking shape as I had expected to see the team's in high forms and performance at the beginning of the season losing more future games.
1062  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Meta's no ads subscription and gambling disorder. on: November 07, 2023, 08:29:53 AM
Before now it was impossible to avoid advertisment on Facebook and Instagram. This has made it impossible for gamblers to avoid advert even when they have used control the ads options. Now Meta is giving users in the EU, EEA and Switzerland the choice to pay a monthly subscription to use Facebook and Instagram  without any ads. This special account can come for as high as €9.99/month on the web or €12.99/month on iOS and Android. Users can get this account this month and enjoy the package
Why would Musk want to exploit the weakness of his social media platforms users to make extra money for his already billionaire status. What are the gains the Facebook and Instagram community are gaining from the use of his platforms - the rich are with the inclination of getting richer and making the poor poorer by using every means to suck the little they have.

If I know I have a gambling disorder I'll just have to stay away from using the FB and IG platforms just like @z390 said, and instead use that €9.99 or €12.99 to look for somewhere I can go catch some fun at a pleasure park. These ads were ought to be a thing of choice for users to choose to see or avoid them but now a business man wants to start making money from it making the choice a monetary one, how ridiculous.
1063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Believe That Reading People's Bad Experience Will Help You on: November 07, 2023, 07:24:02 AM
If you're starting your journey on gambling do you think reading about people's bad experiences like losing their savings and getting depressed which leads to loss of jobs and livelihood will help new gamblers to become responsible gamblers for fear that what they read will happen to them?

I ask this because, in our country, our government has mandated cigarette manufacturers to post graphic images of those who suffer from the bad effects of cigarettes on every pack of cigarettes like lung cancer pulmonary disease (COPD), which includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis

So do you think it will be the same with gambling?

It's very difficult to see how it will affect addicted gamblers though, I mean in gambling there could be a lot of reasons why individuals became addicted though and that should be the point of attack to make them quit. It could be that in the beginning, this individuals just wanted to feel what gambling is, and so we say that we gamble for fun and entertainment. But it can go backfire in the long run and become addicted gamblers. There are also who want to escape from their depression, thus gambling for hours just to forgot their problems.

So it might not be an effective method to have this graphic content and images to show what will be the effect of gambling as everyone has his and her reasons to gamble. So there's no one size fits all strategy. Still up to the person to quit and stop gambling and it could be better if they are going to seek professional help to stop.
People gamble for various reasons, if we check we might find that many gamblers don't actually gamble for the money but using gambling as a approach to free their mind from the worries of life they are passing through and by constantly doing that to get relieved that's how they indirectly get addicted becoming an uncontrollable behavior.

In agreement to what you said it's through the support of a professional that the addiction can be remedied and not just the reading of articles about the dreadful experiences of gamblers before them. It's an expert that will know where and how to come into the situation to render the actual support.
1064  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you guys believe in other people luck and try to copy them? on: November 06, 2023, 01:05:14 PM
Why do we have to do it and want to spend money to believe in other people's luck when everyone has their own luck, you can also get luck on your own bets by betting with your own money and at your own risk, to be honest, I personally wouldn't trust it. myself to copy other people's bets because we won't know someone's bad luck, even if they are good at gambling, it's still a bad way.
As a sport bettor there are occasions I go blank on options to choose for my predictions and I'll just decide to copy someone else's game which I have been lucky to get a win from those copied games many times I have done so. And copying games doesn't mean it has to be same individual it could be a random person all what is important is that pray it be someone that the day is his lucky day to get a win, because you can copy games from legendary gambler and still loss.

Copying games isn't bad, just don't make it a habit not everyone would want to share their games and if people gets to know you as a game copier they would keep distance at the sight of you.
1065  Economy / Gambling / Re: Guide for newcomers Start a fun and profitable gambling entertainment journey o on: November 06, 2023, 12:49:22 PM
Let me start with welcoming you to the forum, but I would ask that you please pay attention the the RULES. You do not need to start a new thread everytime you make a post. Each gambling site is allowed 1 THREAD PER SITE. Failure to comply with forum rules can result in a ban for you. Please read both threads.
Checking his Post History all of the 21 posts he had are newly created thread just to advertise this site https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;threads;u=3576527;sa=showPosts;start=20  so i agree with you that he must learn about the rules .
and also what he is doing is creating thread and will not come back or engage in that said thread and look 3 days after this thread created he never back online , wondering that His next online is when there is a new thread to promote this Site of His.I think there is something that players must consider before even depositing here.

He doesn't look serious in engaging in the discussion here and maybe he is not familiar with how the bitcointalk ANN threads work. I am sure after a few days he will create another such thread and think he is doing marketing, but he is only hurting his project like this.
With the way the op drops these different threads it doesn't tell of him to be someone that's unfamiliar with how the forum works for new casinos who which to introduce themselves to the community. Am assuming he's just trying to cut corners and do a ubiquitous advert in a cloak but doesn't know that forum members are wiser than that. He would end up killing his account if he continues this way, that's for sure.
Quote

If he is serious, he should at least read the replies here and update the OP as suggested by many members, and above all be active. There are so many good trust casinos on this forum, all having been actively managed along with the signature campaigns, so advertising some random gambling sites in an unorganized way will not help the site to grow.
What do you think an op would be implying when he chooses to ignore replies and suggestions made from a people he's expecting to make use of his advertised site. Maybe since he's ain't taking us serious we should just return the favour of not taking him and whatever he's selling serious.
1066  Economy / Economics / Re: New business idea. on: November 06, 2023, 12:31:48 PM
Well for me, this is a good business to start as soon as possible since it is bullish, but I'm not sure how long would it still be in demand since your country is using many types of edible oil. I see your point here, you want to take advantage of growing demand of this graundnut oil which is good, but posting it here would be difficult to attract some investors. I mean you can try there is no problem with that and it's worth trying I believe.
The business sound lucrative and bullish as there are not many people that are into the groundnut oil business at the moment, and I will like any investor that will want to buy into the idea of investing in the groundnut oil business to not just do so because of the bullish market status quo  as it's obvious the bullish price won't last for long when more investors start moving into the line of business making supply higher than demand, would you still continue or exit the business. Set your goals right ahead before trying to take the advantage from the start. My fvckin opinion though!
1067  Other / Meta / Re: Request for a board of made-up stories on: November 06, 2023, 12:00:01 PM

Make-up stories are baseless and I believe we share value on this forum, even the thought of it should have been resisted by you. Let the conscience judge anyone who cooked up stories and you may leave and laugh over the supposed such and go your way if you come across them.

Frankly, you are not a perfect person, what if what you term "make-up stories" are the actual events? This is why what we can't be 100% convinced of, see or prove without a reasonable doubt shouldn't be labelled as we believe it.
I understand that since we are not there with these people who create such threads, we are left with no option but to believe it, right? But what I think he is saying is there are some that are so obviously a lie that just looking at it will make you cringe, those are the ones he's saying should have a board so that way people who want to exaggerate things for which Bitcoin made them do, they can just go on the board.
Sometimes how an op construct his story could make it sound like a fabricated story to the reader even when it's not, especially when it's related to the teaching of someone about bitcoin, selling/buying their first bitcoin or in this very case of selling a family land to buy bitcoin which sounds weird and hard to believe in spite of it been possible and a stupid thing to do.

The problem with these stories is that the fakes stories are much more than the real ones which makes it hard for anyone to actually decipher which is real or fake and that's where the mix up is coming from.

Good day Bitcoinland.
The price is back up over
Thirty-five thousand.
Not gonna only be a good day
but a good green two months of 2023 for bitcoin people.

Saying this as a result of a news about six different AI chatbots experiment forecasting a 45k price for bitcoin as the year winds down.

Although would have loved it if it was a perfect number 7 and not 6 AI's.

1069  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the right age for financial stability? on: November 05, 2023, 11:35:26 PM
The sooner the better. But the issue is time is weird.

At 18 waiting til 30 seems way too long. Never mind waiting til 50 or 60.

I am 66 If I make it to Jan 2024 I will be 67.

I can testify to this ten years is not much time. Neither is 20 years.

If you invest at 18 and hodl the investment 20 years you will usually do okay.
Our backgrounds has so much to do with the right age of being financially stable. We all come from a different families and that says a lot about us.

We don't expect someone from a poor background to start investing at age 15 - 20 when they can barely feed well at home or afford going to college . You must have extra to start thinking of Investment. Which is why it's weird if we're to make a timing that's suitable to invest in ones life to achieve financial stability.

Justin Bieber was financially stable before he got to age 19 in fact he was just waiting to get to the age constitutionally recognized as adult age for him to have control of his finances. But we know there are Bieber's age mate that are still struggling with life as we speak. What am I saying real sense, it's that there's no age for financial stability. Whenever yours arrive accept it that way.

@Philipma1957, the good Lord will surely make you see 67 and beyond, in good health.
1070  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: November 05, 2023, 04:31:19 PM
Up next Liverpool are playing a comfortable away game against Luton. It is about to start in 15 minutes. Honestly my expectation is nothing different than an easy victory.

Because Luton aren't a team that can get points from top teams which are in-form. But they lost to Tottenham home by only one-goal difference for example. Liverpool had better not to underestimate them if they want to win easier.
Football is not that easy to predict a winner and comfortably have the results that way, you should always expect the unexpected. Even though Liverpool is a better side to Luton it still doesn't mean we should write off Luton not been capable to put up a big fight against the reds today playing at home It's usually that underdogs that huts us with that unexpected result we may be expecting from a bigger opponent.

Nevertheless, Liverpool has no option but to win this game today to stay number one on the EPL table ahead of Arsenal who are currently ontop of the table with just one point above Liverpool. So with a win against Luton today Liverpool will be having a clear tow points ahead of Arsenal who  lost their last match to Newcastle through a controversial 1:0 defeat playing away.
1071  Economy / Economics / Re: AI will put an end to work, says Elon Musk on: November 05, 2023, 04:14:40 PM
During an uncommon interview conducted by UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, the tech billionaire Elon Musk predicted that if AI is not regulated, there will be a time when no job will be needed. This means that AI tools would take over the entire work of men making paid jobs become reductant. He even claimed that humanoid robots might be a perfect friend for one of his sons who is having difficulty in having friends. I have always believed that regardless of how sophisticated these AI tools become, they will never replace humans. But hearing this prediction for an individual who has a full understanding of the AI sector is frightening. Elon Musk owns an AI company, xAI, that is competing with big AI firms like OpenAI, Google and Anthropic.

These comments can increase the fear and anxiety workers always had that these super-computers will replace them in future. What are your thoughts regarding the statement by Elon, do you think we should take him seriously?
OP you know it's funny saying about his prediction being frightening, of course that was what it was aimed for, to frighten us trying to trick our mind to think that these AI robots are equivalent or super above human intellects and with their existence there should be no need for human services in the few jobs that are available but they're forgotten that it's same humans that invented/created these AI machines.

I don't expect any businessman to demarket and make his business products and services seem less but one thing I can be sure about AI tools is that they can't entirely take over the jobs of humans there will always be an irreplaceable positions for humans that AI can't independently cover. So it's left for we humans to gear up and upgrade our skills to stay relevant in the competition.
You are correct and I completely agree with you, this is also the same point I made in my comment earlier, believing that Ai machines will one day take over from humans and render humans completely jobless is like believing that humans will one day become higher than He who created them us, that is God as we Christians believe.
It is nothing but pure exaggeration, it is plainly stupid to believe such, humans are the ones inventing and building Ai, if we ever arrive at a time when Ai starts rendering humans completely jobless, thereby throwing most of humans into poverty due to lack of jobs or work to do to earn money, then same humans can turn off the Ai and take their jobs back.

It is true that Ai can be faster and more efficient when it comes to rendering services and completing tasks, most especially the very complex ones, but the truth is that, they still can not run without humans interaction.
It's a marketing strategy and we accept it not that we are unaware about it but ultimately doing everything possible by making AI machines entirely taking over the jobs of humans it's something I'll advise the AI tools developer's not to even think about it as it can lead to chaos in the society. A jobless man is a hungry man and a hungry man is an angry and we can all imagine what a mob of angry men can team up to do never minding the consequences.

So invariably the turning off of the AI machines as you @FiveStar4everMVP  has predicted of may not be done by the owners (developer's) but by the angry humans whose means of livelihood has been whisked away from them leaving them to their own fate. However, just like you I also think a symbiotic interaction in workplace will be best but saying entirely supplanting humans with AI is just baseless.
1072  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have your own casino. on: November 05, 2023, 03:27:39 PM
But getting back into the topic, i would like to read some nice histories from the community, those who only dream about their own casino, and those who make their dreams come true.
We are all allowed to have our dreams, It's beautiful to have a dream for yourself for it's what gives you a purpose in life but it's not just about having a dream but pursuing the dream to achieving it and for this to happen you've got to slide in alot of work and talent.

However, focusing on the topic on owning a casino  it is without doubt that you stand a 100% chance of making profit as an owner with all the advantages mostly on the house compared to the gambler that's without a hedge but depending only on lucky to have a meager or lump win.  Still we shouldn't forget that a casino is similar to any other business and if you're lacking in business management techniques and ideas to withstand the competitive casino business environment you would be forced to get your business closed down. So owning a casino and having it on course and stand-out isn't as easy as some of us may think by only looking at the hedge the house has as an advantage.

In the End, A No Coiner will be Laughing the Hardest and sweetest. 😘

You seem to be in a fantasy land, and even you likely understand and appreciate what you are saying is not true.. so that is probably part of the reason no one could take you seriously, even if once in a while you might have some point that might have coincidentally ended up being correct.
A no coiner laughing the hardest and sweetest is a no no point with zero percent coincidental chance of materializing and anyone that have taken a deep breathe with a cup of coffee in hand critically meditated about this evolution (not revolution) that is gradually sinking into the nukes and crannies of the different parts of the world with every society there exists a coin hodler and with each passing day new institutional and individual adopters are emerging. So the irony of laughing the hardest and sweetest would be that of the coiners because at the end they would be in the position to have something profitable to smile about.
1075  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: November 05, 2023, 01:53:24 PM
But if I can buy once a month with a pending order at the lows, and once a month sell at the highs (rarely too) - am I a holder or a trader?
@summonerrk, you are a trader and NOT a Hodler. This is because selling your bitcoin due to little price increase is a way to distract yourself from a long term goal, and it will be hard for you to reach your bitcoin target, if you have. You will also not be able to make a better profit got yourself at the long run and when you make the wrong decision about the market, it can lead to loss and you will regret it. Why I said so is because nobody can know the price movement of bitcoin accurately, and you can not always buy at the low and sell at the high, if it is always possible every bitcoiner will become a trader.
@Ruttoshi you're correct that he's not a hodler but a trader in as much as he buys and sell each month with every dip and high that roll in. A hodler is said to be that investor with a medium or long term investment plan with his portfolio.

But at same time, he @summonerrk can be a trader and a hodler if that's what he intend on doing. And this he can do by having a separate self custody wallets, one for buying and selling each month as you're already doing at every dip and high that take place, while the second wallet should be meant for hodling by DCAing.

It should be noted that to be able to do this and maintain it, you have to consider how much you earn as income (salary) as it greatly depends on it because if the uncertainty of the market due to bitcoin volatility which we can't be accurate with our predictions.

Many people on socials just want to take advantage of the ignorance of others, and from all you have explained it's shows how ignorant you are. Dedicate your time to learn, study and be a good trader yourself, you just arrived to the crypto environment why not  learn to acquire the trading skills you lack rather than depending on signals from random people on social media who you might be better than.

1077  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed or risk on: November 04, 2023, 09:27:47 PM
If am the one that owns this bet slip I will cash out, my reason for cashing out is the risk involved, this bet has a high risk, staking a bet with 1m with a potential winning of 2.730m is very risky and I won't go for this, despite that sometimes it works exactly this way, this is a no for me unless I won't put the loss into consideration which is not even possible, no matter how rich you are, when you lose money you will feel it, minimizing your risk and maximizing your profit in gambling will help to avoid much loss in gambling, remember prediction is not a sure thing, it is just what you instinct feel at that time but mind you, your instinct doesn't say the exact thing most time, so don't be a greedy gambler.

The greedy was the mistake made by the gamblers in the gambling, becasue once the gambler had won 250 dollars from the 100 dollars as the initial.Almost all the gambler will get greedy now, because they try to multiple the money to 1000 dollars from the 100 as the initial betting. So they get loss the full money by the algorithm of the gambling site.Once you get the chance of winning, you should use it wisely and cash out the money with the profit. So this was the professional gambler move, they are safe with the profit by withdraw the funds, but holding the fund and losing your luck will made the gambler end with zero dollars.
Not everything as such should be tied to greed, in my perspective from what at looking at this gambler decided to take a risk , a risk that not everyone will want to take therefore it doesn't mean it's greed. He didn't placed his bet with an initial intention to cash out in the middle of the game for an amount below the total he had hope for to win.

Life in general it's about risk, we should not perpetually get satisfied and accept every little thing we are handed out when we have an option to take a risk and probably have it in full. Just like what we saw about the result of this game it eventually played to the favour of the gambler.
1078  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler avoiding friends after a big win. on: November 04, 2023, 02:58:39 PM
At one of the local gambling shop I visited during the weekend I happened to listen to a conversation between two bald looking gamblers at the shop talking about one of their gambling colleague who had won a big amount of money amounting to a million in the local currency and due to that win this colleague of theirs' has been avoiding them since e won that money. From their conversation it was obvious that they were a circle of close three friends that gamble together.

After all I finished with my bet headed home and was asking myself what could the colleague act that way avoiding his close friends they all gambling together and just because luck shines on him first he decides to create a distance and class. I couldn't actually annex a good reason why anyone should do that.

Truth be told, not only in gambling even in other aspects of life if people becomes rich, dey run from there colique reason being that if you are reach every body will start bringing up there problem to you.  Naturally human has that mentality of  complaining anytime they see a rich person. That's why you see rich people always do that.
Rich people always want to discus matters with people of there class, because those that don't belong to there class has nothing to add to there life rather than cooking up story that will always make you to spend more.
A very straight point you have made as to why the rich commune with the rich, for they are not a parasite to the other as they do discuss about business and investments on how to grow each other which is something you hardly find around the poor, they are at every moment with one demand after another.
What they forget is that the rich man is a human like them that has personal problems too to solve but because he's rich they every poor persons around him is consumed with the thinking that his money will solve his problems for him but there are issues in life that doesn't need money for solution but acquittance.

Gambling sites like Bc.game and Rollbit now include trading feature in their casinos. In this game we need to predict small fluctuations in price over a short period of time.
This is became my favorite game. What do you think of this game?
Do you think this game gives us some advantage/edge to casino? Because most of the time, prices tend to Follow a repeating pattern like Up-Down Up-Down in a range.
What I want to know is that since it's a trading features price prediction game does the house has a hedge in this game over the gambler just as it's found in other casino games where the game providers made sure the house has the hedge or it's operated normally as with trading on any exchange.

I am asking because I have no clue about it as it's my first time if Knowing that there's a trading features in casinos that gamblers can make use of in place of actual trading.
