In fact, I think there will soon be a real collapse of the establishment economy simply because there is an alternate economy that people can flow into.  An escape valve so to say.  It is going to be a very interesting 10 or so years!

This won't happen again, not like this and its only just getting started  Grin ...

.... If dash don't want to have anything to do with these markets, then the price will rest a playball to the speculators! Dash must firstly persuade the "nerds" and the "outlaws" before it gets also used for normal internet transactions like buying at Amazon.

Its earlier than you think, look on a longer timeline,
Karl Gray said something like ""do not think this is like the internet of the late 1990's, think instead 1982, that is where cyptocurrencies are right now""

Perhaps you got a list of recommended documentaries somewhere? As I am in dire need of some decent ones. : )
This compliments and overlaps Adam Curtis somewhat, not had chance to listen to the documentary yet, but Greg palast is a cutting edge fearless looking investigator, usually good stuff.

Now that I had the specs on the scheme for Iraq's oil – that State and Defense Department swore, in writing, did not exist – I told them I'd appreciate their handing over a copy (no expurgations, please) or there would be a very embarrassing story on BBC Newsnight.''

Fantastic !
Thanks for posting that. I love Adam Curtis's stuff. I devour all documentaries I can find on the internet and can go months without coming across anything decent.
Thats my late night viewing sorted.
Cheers !

Sound, I had you and a couple of others in mind for starters, glad you follow him, is clever stuff  Cool

Adam Curtis explains the rise of banking power after WW2, geopolitics, money angles and the complex relationships of the west with Saudi Arabia and how news outlets and the media affect how we think and why they do,
http://boingboing.net/2015/03/19/how-adam-curtis-film-bitte.html
and the full version
https://youtu.be/rqwboEpZe88
Being unable to deal with the complexity of the world has seen us retreat into what Curtis calls a “static world”. Instead of looking to change the world for the better, we look either to change small things (our bodies, our own rights as an individual), or we fall back into the past. “This obsession with risk that politicians, terror experts and finance people have, it’s about going back into the past, looking for patterns – which computers now allow you to do – and adjusting everything to make sure things are stable.

“I believe that it’s possible to make the world intelligible – however complex and chaotic it is,”  -- Adam Curtis --

Here we go again.......trolls will be here again in force as the price edges higher to that $20m spot.

Im sure we can found a mathematical correlation between uptrend price and troll appear

rate of change of price per minute = ( number of troll posts per page ) / ( number of regular posts per page )

look out for extreme market conditions such as when regular posts per page = 0 , this means the rate of change of price has gone to infinity  Grin

PSA: My wall on finex has moved to 0.0145 this is not an anti-dump wall nor price support for that matter, it's an attack wall and hopes to be fully sold in to, it won't be pulled or move back down, many thanks.

Otoh, evening there  Grin so is this whale shark / remora sucker fish analogy a symbiotic relationship then?

On that note, I'm going away for a few days solitude.  Have a great weekend all.
Taking some time out sounds like the right thing to do, we'll still be here when you come back.
It will give you time to stop and smell the roses. Enjoy and de-stress..

You think the Argentinian Peso is more "liquid" than the US Dollar because it has smaller monetary units ? Darkcoin/DASH already has 4 times the liquidity of its nearest cryptonote competitor simply by virtue of having 4 times the marketcap.
Tok, I like your postings but in this case save your breath, you can't teach a lifetime of stupidity to be smart, it can't normally be done, believe me I've tried with a few idiots in my time. It is a common error that clever people think others are like them but generally that ain't true, its more likely a projection of your own reality onto someone else as you see them.

Jesus, there are five active anti-DRK threads active on the first page of the altcoin discussion forum.  Other coins be getting scared!

just been listening to the Lets Talk Bitcoin interview...

I already knew that Evan (and the dev team) is a genius but thinking about it more, I realise that Dark/DASH is truly an amazing piece of technology that just keeps evolving and getting better and better.  Of course Bitcoin started it all but now that BTC is pretty much static in terms of technology, Dark/DASH really has the potential to run side by side and be 'on par' in terms of price/market cap.

It's very exciting to be a part of it all and I think the name change was 100% necessary to bring Darkcoin to the next phase.

The way I'm seeing it, Gavin Andresen's only solution to solving the 7 transactions per second bitcoin bottleneck problem is to increase the block size, and we all know how bloated and slow the blockchain already is.
For example, recently I ran out of space on my 120 gig SSD, and couldn't figure out why because I only really had windows 7 OS and some trivial stuff on it, and you know what, it was the 35 gigabytes of the bitcoin folder that was maxing the drive out!
Now, try taking a short trip down to the darkcoin folder, and you will find it is only 1 giga byte in total size, so here we have a proposed solution to an already mega sized folder is to super size it even more in order to increase the number of transactions and rely on good old Moore's law and a fast Internet to sort everything out or Evan's approach using the Masternode's which is a totally different way of doing things.
Do we want more of the same with big chunks of data or do we want something novel and different, eh ?!

haha, not sure this is a bug or hunky dory, but when I set instantxdepth=100 in config i get 60 confirmations instantly (resetting wallet results in normal POW again) ..

Edit : warning, do not try negative numbers in instantxdepth, it results in a conflicted transaction!!

Edit2 : lol, have reset wallet, and conflict has magically disappeared, even I have trouble breaking it, damn these programmers are good  Grin

I didn't know you had to wait for the 6th?  I thought IX could be IX'd one more time before having to wait?
Also, an instantX transaction has block priority, it will always be placed in the next block even if there are a lot of normal transactions before it.
1077  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] Darkcoin | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW, Darksend and InstantX on: March 18, 2015, 04:18:55 PM
I am not sure about a decentralized exchange per se, as that would involve other assets on the platform, but I really do think some sort of escrow mechanism with time locks could be a possibility in the future. That would be another way to apply the transaction locking mechanism from InstantX.

We have discussed in the past the possibility of using the transaction locks in exactly the opposite way they were originally conceived. Initially the cool thing was that you could set a transaction lock so quick ~4secs, but the transaction locks also have a parameter that allows you to set a lock for an extended period of time, lets say one week, and I think that has potential to be applied to some sort of escrow mechanism.

I love the idea of time locking, you could pay a bill in advance but they would not get it until the due date-there are many uses.
Is there a way of setting the config to delay an instantX, seem to remember something about instantxdepth, can I try it now, will this work?

Jezzz, am lost for words, 50k is a huge amount. And was hoping to meet you one day at a cryptocoin show or somewhere like that being only up the road.

Take care and do stay in touch please,

I just desperately want to turn back time.  I actually woke up this morning and wasn't sure it was real.  I had to open my wallet to confirm that I am actually living a nightmare.

Dan, god damn it man!! thats terrible and I even remember warning you about gambling Sad
It must have took a lot of courage to admit this in a public forum. Am will be so sorry to see you drop off the team, you contribute much and ask little in return.
Can you keep logging on ocassionally and let us you how you are, will miss you if you disappear, the cool factor of the thread and DCT will drop a notch.

In sympathies,
Sub-Ether.

Maternode payments like clockwork:

Gonna support the sponsorship program (https://darkcointalk.org/threads/core-developer-contest-and-sponsor-program.4358/) by donating some of that income as soon as 0.11.2 is out!

Not only like clockwork, but the missed payment was topped up accordingly, like yours  Grin
