1061  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~2300 Gh/s Mining Pool] HTTPS,API, instant payouts,LP,+1% for NO INVALID BLOCKS on: June 08, 2011, 07:24:39 PM
Guys.. I just started mining yesterday at this pool. I placed 0,5bc as the minimum for automatic payment.. and now my account is empty, even though this happened:
08.06.2011 18:25   1N5CJYe1NecihEiSgyoX...   0.02
08.06.2011 18:00   1N5CJYe1NecihEiSgyoX...   0.5

But nothing appears on my wallet. It appears here: http://blockexplorer.com/address/1N5CJYe1NecihEiSgyoXwFGVZzEM4Mp76E

But it doesn't on my own bitcoin.exe, as you can see on the following screen:
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/815/mybitcoin.jpg/
Have you used GUIminer's instant payment button ?
Do you use Windows Sidebar Gadget ?

If the 0.02 payment was sent by you at the site, have you seen the help page that is shown after pressing the payment button ?

UPD: Your screenshot shows that you don't have the entire blockchain downloaded in your client.
You should wait for the number in the status bar to be over 129428 (the block in the table at your link).

No, that was not an attack.
1063  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~2300 Gh/s Mining Pool] HTTPS,API, instant payouts,LP,+1% for NO INVALID BLOCKS on: June 08, 2011, 06:29:44 PM
question:
around how long does it take for the minimum payout to take effect to my wallet
Automatic payment is triggered after 24 hours since last one.
1064  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin 50% take over warning idea on: June 08, 2011, 04:44:57 PM
I'm kind of poor bitcoin-wise, otherwise I would totally put a bounty on this.  Please keep this thread about building a detection scheme and less about the QQ of deepbit/tycho being evil or whatever.
I already offered a bounty for such service (look for that topic), but only two forum members were interested and no one tried to create it.
1065  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: deepbit vs btcguild on: June 08, 2011, 04:41:08 PM
-They've got an open book...even clearly spelling out the Balance Sheet of block wins and payouts since the pool started.
There is a block list and payments list at deepbit too.

Tycho wth did you do for all of this nerd rage =p
A nice mining pool :)
1067  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Deepbit for Mac OS X 10.6 on: June 08, 2011, 03:52:17 PM
How can I set this up? I'm very new to this.
You can try DiabloMiner, see his thread:

just wondering, when is pay-per-share more profitable and when is Proportional more profitable?
Just as it says on the site - PPS is more profitable when pool is unlucky and vice versa.

In late May the auto payout sent off 5 BTC (1 at a time) over a few days but I never received them.
How may I claim the 5 BTC I never received?
Open your bitcoin client and wait until it downloads the entire blockchain. If your address is correct, you'll see the payment.
It has done that, I've been using your pool since you launched it (when slush was the only one around and it was locked out to new applicants) so I do have all the blocks downloaded.
Ok, PM me your login name.
1070  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~2300 Gh/s Mining Pool] HTTPS,API, instant payouts,LP,+1% for NO INVALID BLOCKS on: June 08, 2011, 02:52:11 PM
2 of my workers (one of the machines basically) are down according to my failure thresshold of 2min. But there is no more an indicator showing the timestamp of the last accepted share per worker and can't estimate when have they gone offline. Any chances of adding such a feature again?
Currently I'm replacing the worker monitoring part, more features will be added.
Time of last worker connection will be available but with a bit lower precision.

So [Tycho], clearly you getting 50% of the hashing power has ruffled some feathers and even has me slightly concerned. What do you think is the best route to ensure individuals confidence? Would you be opposed to instituting a lock on new user registration on your pool until other pools increase their network share?
Already answered on this in my thread.
Actually I don't see other pools doing something to get more hashrate. Panic is not a solution.

Recent USD/BTC rate jump may be followed by immense influx of new miners - that's their opportunity.
1073  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 50% on: June 08, 2011, 07:04:24 AM
This "authority" can just connect to some different points of network and log the blocks.
When the majority of the network is reporting one set of blocks as being accurate, and the minority is reporting a different set as accurate...

Wouldn't the authority automatically assume the majority?...
Looks like you don't get the idea.
That's the whole point of the service - to detect presence of the other set.

Don't make me say my opinion on bitcoin security for the fourth time :)

You know what else has already happened too? Tycho has been hacked. That's why he instituted email locks on accounts, because a hacker got into his system and changed peoples addresses. Hacked once...
Please, don't tell about what you don't know.
Most (~14) victims of that attack were using same passwords on deepbit and another pool that got hacked, that's how the attacker got them. Also they were using same passwords for mining and main account.
Hey [Tycho] what's the [Bounty] on the Block Chain Monitor?
As it says in the forum thread, my part and those two who added their messages.
It's just a strawman, and Tycho knows it.
There is no technical way to find orphaned block chains without everyone running bitcoind to update their software to a specific version that would report orphaned blocks to a central authority.  And the authority would need to be agreed upon.  The client, as it stands, simply abandons them.
This "authority" can just connect to some different points of network and log the blocks.

[Tycho], any chance you will lower your hashing rate?
Or even better, make your fee go up as hashing rate increases, so we reach a nice equilibrium?
It's not like my hashing rate is rising, it's network block generation speed is low today which causes pie chart to look more scary than usual.

Create a good pool, make a better offer to bitcoin miners and they may switch. That's how competition works.
It's easy to make a pool with lower fee, there is even an open source pool software available. And that's not the only option.
Why not create more ? There will be a LOT of new miners soon.

Don't make me say my opinion on bitcoin security for the fourth time :)

Yeah, I want my shares to be counted towards epic fail, too. Where do I sign up to this nightmare?

I made a 2nd worker account on deepbit.net. It shows my hash rate around 500M/sec. BUT . .the weird thing is, for the last few hours, the "YOUR SHARE" in statistics says 0 for each block. Any idea why that would be?
Stats table is delayed by one hour, don't forget to set your timezone and check the timestamps of those blocks.

Are your worker names blue of red on the account page ?
