A nice mining pool Smiley

Smiley A nice mining pool indeed!  Especially nice for the pool operator I think huh?  No rage from me though...Tycho, you did create a nice mining pool when apparently there was no where else to go (slush's was locked down)...but surely you can see why people start getting their back up when a concentration of power starts ocurring that has the potential to compromise the integrity of the whole system??

Perhaps you will entertain implementing this type of algorithm?   http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=9137.0

Would get alot of the "omg 50%" harbingers off your back.

Wouldn't do anything about us jealous bastards though Smiley

I think it's back, my logger shows a 33% slower response rate between 2:20 - 2:40 EST, but it seems to be back to usual for the last 13 minutes.

(Don't worry Tycho the logging only increases when the system detects an incident with deepbit.)

Guys.. I just started mining yesterday at this pool. I placed 0,5bc as the minimum for automatic payment.. and now my account is empty, even though this happened:

08.06.2011 18:25   1N5CJYe1NecihEiSgyoX...   0.02
08.06.2011 18:00   1N5CJYe1NecihEiSgyoX...   0.5

But nothing appears on my wallet. It appears here: http://blockexplorer.com/address/1N5CJYe1NecihEiSgyoXwFGVZzEM4Mp76E

But it doesn't on my own bitcoin.exe, as you can see on the following screen:
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/815/mybitcoin.jpg/

Can somebody help me?

Have you used GUIminer's instant payment button ?
Do you use Windows Sidebar Gadget ?

If the 0.02 payment was sent by you at the site, have you seen the help page that is shown after pressing the payment button ?

UPD: Your screenshot shows that you don't have the entire blockchain downloaded in your client.
You should wait for the number in the status bar to be over 129428 (the block in the table at your link).

just wondering, when is pay-per-share more profitable and when is Proportional more profitable?
Just as it says on the site - PPS is more profitable when pool is unlucky and vice versa.

I am sorry if this has already been answered but i cant seem to find it anywhere. If the average shares per block is higher than difficulty does that mean we are unlucky or does that mean we are lucky. Sorry very new to this so not sure.

thanks fro the great pool Tycho despite all the haters you do a great job!

What is worth all these doomsdayers coming in here preaching? I see a lot of conjecture flying around but that is all. Why dont one of you doomsdayers show some proof substantiating your preachings?
Please see https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Weaknesses#Attacker_has_a_lot_of_computing_power if you don't understand why the current situation is dangerous. One person is frequently in control of the majority of the CPU power in the network. I know that Deepbit has all kinds of lovely features, but at current exchange rates he will be earning close to $1 million a year off your mining fees AND he has the ability to bend the rules of the system.

By continuing to vote for Tycho by giving him your CPU power, you are electing him the dictator of Bitcoin.

If you take the time to read more than one little article you will find that the person who controls more than 50% has to be ONE user! Not a pool. The only way it could happen with Tychos pool is if the person attacking was able to take control of every single members computer. you all are acting like al-Qaida misinterpreting things. If say google decides they dont like bitcoins and put all there computers online and had more than 50% than they could do it. with all the security, firewalls, routers, and so forth there is no way this can happen. Before you go and make fools of yourselves take the time to do a little research. Wink

The way pools are currently structured, miners pretty much give their results to the pool which can do anything it wants with them. IOW, it is like Tycho was generating all those blocks himself, so all the hashing power from the pool is at his disposal to do with as he pleases.
(Also, you may want to try understanding what you're talking about before spreading such nonsense.)
