1064  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 10, 2014, 10:48:21 PM
I come to a conclusion that this market is retarded (as in slow) it took it 2 days to react to china news and drop from 1200 and it took a day and a half to react to overstock news

this is someone panic buying, not reaction to overstock.
1065  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many kilos of sugar with 1 BTC in 2045? on: January 10, 2014, 12:12:27 PM
0 (zero). SHA-256 will be cracked much sooner than 2045.

Nuh-uh... according to the TV show Almost Human, set in the 2100s, bitcoin will still be around.

I've only mined on BitMinter due to ease of use on my Mac.

So my question is, do all pools go through blocks this long? I know everything averages out, but can some pools vary between 40 and 60, and some pools between 1 and 99 CDF? How are some pools luckier than others?
1068  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Block Errupter (Is it worth?) on: January 10, 2014, 11:47:17 AM
Are you looking for profit or bitcoins for the long run.

If you want short term profit ebay is the way to go.

If you want btc for the long run, plug them in and let them hash to a pool. You never know what little you mine will be worth years down the road!
1069  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: $500 spent on BTC. on: January 10, 2014, 11:43:50 AM
If you already bought your BTC, just hodl on to it.

You could buy a few GHs at cex.io and mine very little before it becomes unprofitable, and hope to sell your GHs to a noob, but you could end up with less BTC if you don't get out at the right time.

Without the "-". Thats the one i've been using

I'm surprised they didn't buy the .net as well, knowing how phishy bitcoin can be!  Wink

You bought in 2 years ago under 100 eh?

I don't believe a single word OP says, besides the seeing $500 soon part.  Wink

I was thinking closer to 550.

I wish you luck sir.  Don't miss the train.

For what little I am able to buy at the moment, I would rather take the risk.
1077  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wired.com: Overstock.com now accepting bitcoin on: January 10, 2014, 06:21:07 AM
Once they have international bitcoin sales up and running, and report those figures, I predict more merchants wanting a piece.
