ok, let me just clarify, this model would have us at around $3000 or over in roughly 6months time? do you feel that's a fair calculation given the previous data points?

Well, it looks like a brontosaurs was forming to me, and in that case, yes. I could see the argument for a triceratops or a brachiosaurus, though.

Thanks, I have seen most of the presentation. It makes me understand why the double exponential price curve for bitcoin is a very possible senario.

Does anyone notice a trend where people (mostly btce trollbox) get really excited whenever gox moves, as if gox confirms everything and is still market leader? Meanwhile the volume at gox is 3 times less than that of other exchanges, and nobody mentions the trading at other exchanges including their own exchange with three times the magnitude as that of gox. It doesn't make any sense. When will we decouple from gox?

I'll give you two explanations

right now Gox is an (almost)one way gate to bitcoin (fiat goes in easy, comes out hard)

1. new-comers trust gox(?) because it is located in Japan
buying pressure in Gox indicates new-comers   (fresh money)

or

2. desperate poeple buying back coins to move them to real exchanges, so they can cash out

I come to a conclusion that this market is retarded (as in slow) it took it 2 days to react to china news and drop from 1200 and it took a day and a half to react to overstock news

Overstock accepting Bitcoin is huge news in my book. I expect the price rise is delayed as the news brings new investors into the market but this process takes a little for people to figure out how to buy.

So prices next week over $1000 on Bitstamp seem quite likely to me.
