10601  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price will reach $4000 after halving ? on: August 13, 2016, 11:08:23 PM
Nope. I think 5 Years from now. But we dont know acctually. What if investors stop investing 3 years from now ? Maybe bitcoin will drop into 2$. But we dont know. But thats only my prediction. 5 Years from now, Bitcoin price will try to reach the amount of 4000$.

I'd rather think there are no investors, first and foremost its the real users of the coins that matter.   You can only invest in something which actually going to be useful, is bitcoin useful in 5 years from now ?   I do see its importance rising as US dollar is tied to politics and the debt issues of just one country of its origin, the USA.   So bitcoin is useful globally to avoid this politics self harm to every user of that currency, I hope bitcoin can avoid politics and damage by its proponents.    Where as Dollars are biased, it has no choice but to serve fiscal policy of the next president and so hobbling the other 5 billion people in the world who are effected but have no influence

If bitcoin stays true and neutral in a world lobsided to past debts then it should keep improving, the price should rise as we have many more future users then actual coins available via market supply or via the block reward which of course halved but really was only ever a minor factor imo
10602  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price will reach $4000 after halving ? on: August 11, 2016, 02:39:05 AM
Its slightly naive to expect a simple cause and effect, halving and hey presto we get a price rise.     Coins available from market far outweight block reward so that halving does not matter as much immediately.
Ok but the good news is later on we can get a trigger event, I dont know what that will be but anything finance or trade related could mean in 2016 we see a grand price rise for bitcoin.

I do not expect 4,000 but the best advice is these things come when unexpected and on their own schedule, money is never that easy sorry
10603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To Gamble or To Invest? on: August 10, 2016, 06:29:58 PM
Investments in gambling sites can yield between 3-5% so if you invest a fair amount you can take half of the interest and try your luck and if you win big you can add it to the investment and make even more.

Invest your winnings maybe or maybe just gamble the winnings.   But where is this 3-5% return that is so stable, Im not aware of where such things are found.    Last investment I made was in cryptsy the exchange and as it turned out exchanges are super vunerable, I did at least get my money back though and gambled the profits.

10605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If gambling is illegal in your country, would you still gamble? on: August 09, 2016, 11:46:58 PM
That is true, gambling is a natural phenomena, somehow I doubt they can block every card or poker game, every side bet on any race or sport event.  What it really means is the betting is unregulated and handled by the underworld instead of being available to all agencies to regulate and ensure fairness.
People will gamble in their business decisions if nothing else.  I know places in Pakistan have illegal gambling, to such a large extent that players in the UK will throw games to match the wishes of those people wanting a certain event to occur.  So banning does no good seems like
10606  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Totalitarianism on: August 04, 2016, 09:22:43 PM
Singapore is actually a pretty cool place to be honest, they have a lot of stuff and they're pretty advanced relative to a lot of the other countries in the general area, and they have a good economy last I heard of. I agree with all of your points about the property in Singapore though, especially looking at some of the negatives. The 15% tax won't be harsh on the market in a year or two though, and there should be less downward movement with the value of the property soon.

There should be some cool things that'll happen with the Singapore economy soon, and I'll be looking at it more over the next few months.
Singapore is a richer nation then the United Kingdom apparently which I dont think any other former colony has managed to do.    Problem is its too small, just a city state so not likely to take over a grand influence on world trade from the west.  If its just participating and profiting not governing then its still following the UK and USA  despite being more successful.   UK cut its rates further today after leaving them already near zero for 7 years and will increase its QE program, neither move is a sign of success.   Its unfortunate the world economy is still caught focusing on failed measures then whatever has worked for Singapore or similar growing countries

10608  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm dumping my bitcoins so you should on: August 03, 2016, 07:16:20 AM
I think the bitcoin price now is quite stable and it is a good price to buy. In 12 months, the price will be over $1000.

Contradicting yourself there.  If bitcoin price is stable then both sellers and buyers are equally met and balanced and so price is unlikely to move.   Unstable could mean the price rises due to an excess of buyers or it can be very erratic and up and down for the next year.  Instability could also mean doubts rise and the price falls.
I dont think bitcoin is stable as a market, I think its growing and adjusting still and to some extent under attack by those who which to divert it their own needs without giving anything in return.   Steady growth I dont see as stable and bitcoin isnt steady anyway, its more like a whirlwind gaining size
10609  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I believe in Bitcoin ? on: August 03, 2016, 07:09:56 AM
Believe in bitcoin as a valid representative of capitalism in the modern era but be a pessimist of every idea that relies and revolves around bitcoin such as a centralised exchange which becomes vulnerable to attackers by its very nature contrary to bitcoins.

How many ideas related to bitcoin are just as secure and distributed in their security, seems like none of them.  So many doubts on the currency are down to the misuse of it seems like

10611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BLK/BC) | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: August 01, 2016, 04:45:34 PM
Lots of people hold blackcoin and if you keep the wallet online you get a staking interest every now again because you are part of the global network, which is nice.   So theres lots of people involved with blackcoin, it cant exist without them basically.   I wont argue its anything close to bitcoin levels of size but thats a different discussion to have
10612  Economy / Economics / Re: Italian bank problems and bitcoin on: July 30, 2016, 01:06:13 AM
The next financial crisis could happen next year when the Britain declares Euro exit and financial institutions move out of UK.
There is no reason for banks to leave the UK any more then they would leave any country not in the EU.   Norway isnt in the EU or Switzerland, USA obviously isnt.  Sterling is a reserve currency in of itself, I think the integrity of the country, stability and regulation will have more determination to how much financing is done in the country vs the Euro or EU area just like every company decides around the world where it will do best.

UK as the world 5th largest economy easily has enough weight to pull away without disintegration or significant damage, it may be at some cost but people are too absolute to say its all negative when every trade agreement includes positives and negatives for both sides.   UK will still trade with EU but not in a fixed universal agreement

Rumpelstiltskin at this rate will be found correct Cheesy
My suggestion would be momento mori which is an ancient Roman battle saying for remember you are mortal or remember you must die, respect your beginning and end is quite brief in history if you ever want to be remembered.   Or alpha omega is begin and end of the greek alphabet characters: α Ω or in Hebrew אמת which also means truth, those are more religion related but all roughly relate to immortality and creation
10614  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Everyone looses in the long run on: July 29, 2016, 06:50:27 PM
Even if there is no house edge like in sports betting

There is always a house edge even in sports betting.   If there was no edge they would be doing the service for free, the odds they quote include their fee and they gain a percentage of bets placed by doing so.    Even when people win they get slightly less then the losers on the same bet lost, so the house or sports book makes the difference between the two and cannot lose overall like a bettor does.

Thats presuming the book is balanced, I guess sports bets also get alot more bets one side then the other.  Its upto them how they handle that risk or maybe just close the book if its going too far one way but usually they keep making the odds worse I think.  Anyhow every betting operation is taking fees.

Same deal happens with foreign currency exchange, especially when they insist its a free service.  They make a ton of money on the two rates not matching evenly.   Thats normal competitive capitalism, its a skill to spot the best odds I guess
10615  Economy / Economics / Re: Should I believe in Bitcoin ? on: July 29, 2016, 06:35:38 PM
I doubt the further development of Bitcoin and I'm afraid to lose money!

In this case its best buy not just once like a lottery ticket but to buy some every month or every week even for at least a year.    Dont buy more then one percent of your annual disposable income and you should be good risk wise.
We cant tell you what will happen but obviously the world finds bitcoin useful at least a bit and there are more people who do not and could use bitcoin to move their money in a transaction then the people who already have.  Most people who have used bitcoin agree its useful and done the job so its fair to assume more will in future, hence growth
10616  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: July 29, 2016, 06:26:12 PM
razor, he is talking about conspicuous consumption where people buy expensive goods to appear or feel better about themselves.   Like that famous brand with a tick on it, most people arent requiring such trainers but just want to show off they are rich enough to afford such things.
Its especially true of the youth in society where image is everything, if young workers just put their money towards buying a house or reducing their student debt they were would be far richer later on.   Not spending money sometimes has no downside, unfortunately alot of our culture now is just importing everything and there is no locally tailored alternative but theres sometimes craft designs
10617  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Devastation on: July 28, 2016, 10:55:43 PM
Zen Buddhism has the idea of centralised balance of the self rather it being a postcard to god like a begging plea, that makes more sense to me

Back to economics, I ran some numbers on the U.S. CPI.  Nominally 1.51% since QE, if I reweight food, fuel, housing and medical to align with medium household income shares, it comes to 3.32%.

Therefore, if anyone tells you the SPX has reached a new high, relative to May 2015, keep in mind that 15 months later a real new high would be over 2223, which has not happened yet.

Yep absolutely, the powers that be are counting on the population underestimating inflation.   The stockmarket will likely keep up with new cash created but the growth over and above is more questionable, thats the evidence of previous booms mirroring large amounts of inflation.    The lesson should be to not hold onto fixed amounts of cash returns, if that is ever realised by the marketplace it means higher rates but we live in a strange world where alot of political influence and non capitalist incentives from China mean rates are not rising.

The effective market interest rate in large parts of the world is negative even if its not outright stated like in Japan
10618  Economy / Digital goods / Re: GtA4, Left for Dead 2, Payday, Sniper elite 2, 26 games = $5 on: July 28, 2016, 10:01:23 PM

Just so theres no confusion, still did not get paid for a simple ten posts made as requested which is kinda low but thats how people operate their business on the interwebs I guess.   Not sure how you build a forum with dishonesty but good luck with that anyhow
