10621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts/potential of BURSTcoin on: October 10, 2016, 12:29:33 AM
Burst is making some innovation and for now it is all a big experiment for now. Trade the coin if you want but treat like a test net and do not hold for the very long term. Always be safe.

I don't disagree in theory...but I would never put anything in a very speculative investment I couldn't afford lose.  That being said...if you just want to trade/day trade that's fine (not necessarily specific to Burst, but in general)...but if you never hold you also will never hit a big one.

I know a family that invested early in a company in Omaha, NE...they bought and held.   They now have money coming out of their ears because it turned out to be Berkshire Hathaway.  Many were happy when Bitcoin got to $10 (or whatever)...others...well you know.  Certainly the except rather than the rule though.

I'm conservative by nature, but sometimes you gotta take a risk as well.  Burst may be something I do that with.  Smiley

That is funny. Show me someone who is like Warren Buffet running the Burst project and I will believe you. I did not want to say this but Burst could be another scam. Time will tell if it is.

Why did you compare Burst with something as extremely fundamental to Berkshire Hathaway? Buffet invested in companies that have true value and earning revenue. Do you think he will invest in Burst?

You're missing my point...I'm not specifically tying Buffet to Burst or making that comparison.  The point was when this family invested decades ago (and held) no one knew who Buffet was or what he could do (obviously).  And obviously not comparing Burst to Berkshire... was talking taking risk in investing in general.

Please expand on your scam comment.  Burst has been around for 2 years, has developed their unique mining method...it does not have a feel of pump and dump operation at all.  Doesn't mean burst will be wildly successful but it doesn't feel scam like to me (from what I've read/researched).

That's a serious accusation...please expand on it?

You are missing my point too. That is still not a good example. If you want to talk about a success story that a Burst long time holder can possibly look up to it is the story of the first adopters of bitcoin. Those people who mined and traded bitcoin when it was under $1 is a better comparison to the present state of Burst. But do you really think Burst will become the next bitcoin? The cryptosphere has changed a lot since 2009.

Also I am not saying that Burst is a scam. I said that it could be a scam. I did not mean anything bad I was only proving a point to be careful in the cryptosphere because all of the scams make you think that they are not a scam. So be careful before you commit.
10622  Economy / Gambling / Re: $$$$ Wajur mobile casino open for business. $$$$ on: October 10, 2016, 12:18:21 AM
If I may suggest a couple of things, I think it would help the site to add more player versus player games. I suggest dice games that are easy to learn and that are really fun to play like yatzy or street craps. It would surely change the dynamics of the site because the players will not be playing against the house all the time but against each other.

10624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Rising and ICOs Falling Away on: October 09, 2016, 10:17:56 AM
My question is when will the new Ethereum ICO start ups be listed in the exchanges? They will be the first ones to dump if bitcoin continues to rise. Also the start ups themselves can dump the ETH they are holding now to take advantage of the move.

What if they don't get listed on exchanges? They will be worthless forever.

People should always think about what their ICO-Shitcoins would be worth without poloniex  Grin

If they do not get listed in the exchanges then that will be a big problem for those people who invested in those ICO as an exit scheme. I have a theory that the millions invested in Iconomi and Firstblood ICO are not really from the community. It might be from the original insiders and whales that do not want to dump straight ETH in the market to avoid a crash. They are treating these new Ethereum based ICO tokens like derivatives.

If the price of Bitcoin has a sudden increase that largely surpasses the all time high then the chances of them dumping ETH for BTC is real slim lol nobody would want to purchase that thing.

Even if what you say is true they will still need to sell ETH for BTC. How will they fund their start up operation if they keep holding ETH?

10629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Looks like Ethereum will be hard forked... again. on: October 09, 2016, 01:27:12 AM
This new hard fork proposal is ok because it is attempting to fix bugs in the platform. The first hard fork was not because the reason for it was to tweak the transaction history.

I cannot blame if some clueless people brand a new Ethereum hard fork with the old one. Or maybe this is another failed attempt to spread FUD. The bigger concern here is the emergence of exit schemes or scams. But I will make a new thread for my Ethereum exit scam theory tomorrow and discuss it there.

10631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: waves is becoming more professional!! on: October 08, 2016, 07:03:31 AM
I have a theory. The reason why Waves got millions in their ICO is because the might have taken a loan or maybe they have a few reach insiders backing them. This is nothing new in the ICOs in the cryptosphere. In fact it was already known that Ethereum was backed by Vitalik's dad and a few friends and insiders.

Ethereum was a success for those backers because maybe they have already cashed out some ETH for a healthy profit on their investment plus some ETH left over and they are still holding it. Waves did not go on a big rise in price so now the investors might be desperate and are now planning an exit plan. This will surely involve a pump and it is anybody's guess where they will dump.
10632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH : Devcon 2 and it's effect on Ethereum Price on: October 07, 2016, 12:18:39 PM
It is almost a month after Devcon 2 and nothing is happening with the price of ETH. So this concludes that there is no effect on the price despite the good presentations done in Devcon 2. The more encouraging signs for Ethereum would be the millions of $ that are now in the platform because of the success of 2 or 3 Ethereum based ICO.

10634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AMP - The Currency That Powers Your Attention On Synereo on: October 07, 2016, 09:07:34 AM
which people keep selling way under current ico price  Huh

The same type of people who sold at sub 1000 sat prices after the last crowdsale.  Enjoy the cheap AMPs.

I am sorry for my ignorance but how much is the ICO price?

I am also now buying AMP slowly but now my problem is where can I store the safely? I do not want to leave this in Poloniex.
10635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Please, help for few altcoin projects on: October 07, 2016, 09:01:16 AM
For those coins listed, it would be better to give up. I am sorry to tell you the truth but those coins do not have the chance to compete in today's cryptosphere environment. The ICO based coins of today are already being given by investors millions of $ just to get started. This is a new game now and he who has the money will have a better chance of achieving success.
10636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XMR Monero price poll - what is XMR/BTC rate by Dec-31-2016 ?? on: October 07, 2016, 08:52:28 AM
After the recent events about the exit scam news I speculate that Monero will go back to 400k to 600k satoshis. The pumpers and the traders have already made their money when they took advantage of the volatility. Now it is on its way down and that might also be played by the same people to make money again by short selling.
10637  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 206: Cormier vs Johnson 2 Prediction and Info Thread on: October 07, 2016, 08:43:18 AM
I heard that there will be a co main event in 206. They say that it might be Ronda Rousey versus Cyborg but I do not think it will be. Since the fight is in Toronto who could it be? They say it will be big, so maybe it is GSP?
10638  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: October 07, 2016, 08:40:51 AM
I believe Lewis Hamilton will be more motivated in this race because of the engine failure in Malaysia last week. How many races are there left? Hamilton will take as many points as he can and try to beat Nico Rosberg decisively.
10639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 07, 2016, 08:31:44 AM
@smoothie. Well if government regulated markets can be manipulated then I conclude it would be far easier to manipulate a market that is moving freely without the interference of regulators. It would be naive of us not to think so right?

Now the question will be if Monero goes back down to 500k satoshis or not. What do you think.
10640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [FCT] FACTOM - HOW FACTOIDS WORK - PRICE SPECULATION on: October 07, 2016, 08:14:04 AM
Well I have explicitly told my idea about the recent increase, that it looked like a dead cat bounce. It still does but the major bounce may yet to come as the lending rates are over %0.1 now. A lot of people shorted around 420-400. This usually causes price to spike up. What do you guys think? It may not reach even 500, but sub 500 is quite possible.

It seems that the bounce is over now and it is going back down below 400k satoshis. The fall is not as fast XMR and they are the two coins that have lost a lot of value the past week. Is there any news why this happened to FCT? There was good news about it saying that Tim Draper led a new $4.2m funding round but there is no effect on the price. Why?

There was effect on the price. It was at about 360k before and it's at 430k now. The dumping before was because of rising Bitcoin and whatever kind of manipulative attempts.

Ok so meaning if bitcoin continues to rise FCT will continue to go down. That is the problem, bitcoin is giving no signs that it will go down and is actually giving signs that it might go to $700 by the end of the month. Where will Factom be if that happens?
