Is it ok to use purse.io? Cause a lot of people complain that this website is scam and to be fair can't understand which side is right.

Ehh. It's getting hate probably mostly because it's somewhat affiliated with Roger Ver. If I remember correctly, he invested in Purse.io. I never had a bad experience with Purse.io though,  though I only used it like thrice so far.
10722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Im done with this shit on: November 21, 2019, 05:15:57 PM
Its bitcoin price im not losing money with betting currently

Well, if you were expecting a smooth and steady increase in price in the long term, then I really don't know what to say.

Again, and I'm not saying this in a hostile manner, as I'm being sincere here, but holding bitcoin might not be for you if the extreme price movements are stressing you out too much. Or at least decrease you're holdings as it sounds like you're over invested.

Hello, to that list of Bitrefill cards let me add JC Penney, Kohls, Saks. Take a look here: https://www.bitrefill.com/buy/usa/ecommerce

This. I can vouch for Bitrefill being a great service. You can also purchase Amazon gift cards using bitcoin: https://www.bitrefill.com/buy/amazon_com-usa/?hl=en

Also, you can buy stuff from Amazon using bitcoin through services like Purse.io.
10724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Populat crypto sites on: November 21, 2019, 04:41:53 PM
Jameson Lopp's blog compiles a list of great resources for most aspects of Bitcoin https://www.lopp.net/bitcoin-information.html.
Another great list that includes forum-related topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4928968.0

Along with these, I'm going to do a shameless plug. Go check out https://coinsources.io/bitcoin  Grin

Also, https://coin.dance/resources, https://cryptolinks.com/, and the classic http://bitcoin.directory/
10725  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Im done with this shit on: November 21, 2019, 04:38:06 PM
If you can't handle bitcoin's extreme volatility, then you shouldn't be holding some in the first place. You've been registered since 2016, I presume that you already know that as it's very very basic cryptocurrency information. Feel free to sell if it's stressing you that much.

Also, if you think that Bitcoin is competing with PayPal, then you missed the point.
10726  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ | Up to 0.0375 BTC/w on: November 21, 2019, 04:03:29 PM
Services like wallet explorers are not harming users privacy imo.

Well, the block explorer services can theoretically tie in the wallet addresses and transaction IDs you've looked up to your IP address. Might not be much, but it's still something. It wouldn't hurt be safe than sorry by using Tor. Juuuust to be extra sure.
10727  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful with security! I learned my lesson. on: November 21, 2019, 03:52:14 PM
For someone who is a member from early 2016 things like this should not happen, it has been repeated thousands of times that private keys/seed should not be stored on e-mail or as unencrypted documents on PC/smartphone. Some members also say that if you have more then $500 in BTC that in this case hardware/paper wallet is necessary. But in my opinion, even $100 worth of crypto justifies investing in security.

It sure is really surprising. Not saying that high rank & early registration date = smart, but you'd really expect a bit more security awareness from someone who's been in the forum for some time already. My guess that in the case of OP, it's more of the "ehh, no ones going to hack me" reasons. Because hot damn storing very very sensitive information on an email account is a very very very novice move.
10728  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Recent Data Breach: "1.2 billion people exposed" on: November 21, 2019, 03:36:52 PM
It’s quite alarming and concerning that massive data breaches like these are just a common occurrence now. I mean, how could a large company possibly lose such massive data like that? It’s not like they’re hiring security analysts and other staff for nothing yet getting top dollar on the payroll.

Well, it's mostly a cat and mouse game. White hat hackers and security analysts improve help improve the security of the overall system, while at the same time the black hat hackers improve their skills by looking for vulnerabilities. Data breaches are pretty much inevitable. The best and most secure systems just fend of hackers a lot longer than not-so-secure systems.
10729  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be careful with security! I learned my lesson. on: November 21, 2019, 01:01:53 PM
Err. We literally had the past few years flooded with news of funds getting stolen due to carelessness of the holders. Not sure how this is still happening knowing that you're on Bitcointalk, which is pretty up to date with hackings and breaches. A lot of people have been very very very vocal about security.

Oh well, painful mistake for you I guess. Look at the bright side. While 20k is a good amount of money, better learn a hard lesson losing the $20k rather than learning your lesson when you already have like $100k+ or more. Best of luck moving forward.
10730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Recent Data Breach: "1.2 billion people exposed" on: November 21, 2019, 12:38:27 PM

Tweet URLs:

I know we should wait for actual facts to be released and not automatically be sold on "announcement of announcements"; and while this is most likely probably not directly related to bitcoin/cryptocurrencies at all, I'm just sharing this just to put things in perspective.

If a certain website/service that has this much users(more or less 1.2 billion based on the Tweet) are susceptible to hacks, what more the exchanges that you're unnecessarily leaving your coins in?(daytraders are an exception).

And I don't care if you're using big exchanges like Coinbase or Kraken or Binance or whatever. If anything, they're actually bigger targets for hackers.

"Not your keys, not your bitcoin."

For speculative purposes(services with number of users closest to 1.2 billion based on quick Google searches):

Facebook: 2.4 billion users (source)
Apple: approx 1.4 billion users (source)
Gmail: 1.2 billion users in 2018 (source)
YouTube: 2 billion monthly active users (source)
WhatsApp: 1.5 billion active users (source)
Microsoft Office 365: 1.2 billion as claimed by o_e_l_e_o, also Microsoft Office 365 went down yesterday[1][2][3]

It's pretty much a guessing game right now, but it looks like it's probably Microsoft Office 365.
10731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can you buy with bitcoin? Apparently, some weird shit. on: November 21, 2019, 09:35:08 AM
The girl is good into marketing, and she has well analyzed the minds of men. The waste water that has the dirt out of her body has gained importance with the stock going out of stock and getting refilled by the next time bath shows the pathetic situation of men. In recent days survey the population of women against men has decreased a lot, maybe that can also be a reason for more such shits getting importance. Somehow the demand to the supply is clearly understood.

Spot on. Regardless how much she makes through the bath water sales, even if it was only like 5 jars a month for instance, it's still a win for her. She got multiple viral news websites to write articles about her and her bizarre store, and that alone for sure garnered her with numerous amounts of social media following and stream followers.

tldr; genius marketing yet weird af
10732  Other / Off-topic / Re: info : price of a domain on: November 21, 2019, 09:12:50 AM
1. Worthless
2. Eh, decent. "cryptoanalysis" is fine and all, but it would probably worth something for resale if it was a .com/.org/.net not a targeted TLD like .co.uk. If you would hold that domain for the long term, assuming the cryptocurrency industry as a whole goes a lot bigger in the future, probably best case scenario you'd get is like $250. I wouldn't get my hopes up though.

Just my 2 satoshis.
10733  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is this a scam? on: November 21, 2019, 06:28:20 AM
1. A person you only know through social media(could be a catfish) is asking you to send funds on a wallet he previously had access to.
2. He's making up some techno mumbo jumbo in the hopes of you not knowing what they mean(nothing).
3. Region block with bitcoin, seriously? lmao

Those 3 should be enough for you to see that it's a scam, without needing to dig further.
10734  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does the future of money lie with prepayments on: November 21, 2019, 03:44:56 AM
This sort of model isn't really new, but it's mostly used on the finance sector: M1 Finance, Robinhood, and such, which shouldn't be a surprise.

But on an e-commerce website?  Quite weird I must say. While this move is quite bizarre(but quite smart and could end up being a really really positive thing for Amazon in terms of earnings), definitely don't underestimate the bad spending habits of people. They psychologically think that they might earn a benefit by leaving money on the Amazon platform, but they will most probably end up spending the money on some random stuff anyway. At least that's how I see it.
10735  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Does Bitquick.co website go down? on: November 21, 2019, 03:36:41 AM

Yep. Not sure what this website is about, but it's down for everyone. You can use the url listed next time if you want to check if a website is down for everyone or not.
10736  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Ledger nano X (To The moon Edition ) on: November 21, 2019, 03:31:29 AM
100% sure you won't get any buyer for that. It's very unsafe to buy used hardware wallet.

You're totally overestimating the knowledge of the typical cryptocurrency investor. I don't really think we can expect them to know the risks of using a second-hand hardware wallet if a lot of people don't even use or even know the importance of non-custodial wallets in the first place.
10737  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the weirdest thing you have seen for sale for Bitcoin? on: November 20, 2019, 03:18:55 PM
Did you ever heard of mystery box,I watched a video on youtube who bought a mystery box for a thousand bucks or so,what he received is scary. The box contains alive pirahna fish not the fish from aquarium shops its the real one which has capable of cut your fingers on single bite.

Ehh. Those mystery box videos on YouTube are mostly pure BS in the first place. It's either the YouTubers being overly dramatic on what they're seeing on the mystery boxes, or it's that they just set up the items themselves. It's basically just YouTubers taking advantage of the darkweb/deepweb hype that are supposed to be "creepy" even though they're not even close to being creepy.

Take a look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjjKYkEwMyc

Probably the stupidest video I've ever seen.
10738  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how to add bitcoin as payment gateway on: November 20, 2019, 03:11:16 PM
Scrap BitPay. If you actually care for your customers, you wouldn't use BitPay. It's probably the worst option, and this is based on experience as a consumer. Lookup BTCPay[1] instead if you want a win-win situation between you as a business owner and your customers. Zero fees, too.

10739  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Ledger nano X (To The moon Edition ) on: November 20, 2019, 03:07:47 PM
Just sell it on eBay or whatever your country's eBay counterpart is. The Ledger Nano X To The Moon Edition is probably going to be stopped being sold on the Ledger website sometime soon, so I assume it wouldn't be difficult for you to sell it.
10740  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the weirdest thing you have seen for sale for Bitcoin? on: November 20, 2019, 11:39:48 AM
Organ selling isnt really that weird yet this do happen and theres such demand of it which is somewhat understandable but for panties?
Im pretty sure that all would just smell the same. lol. Why would need to buy if you can get or smell it for free?  Cheesy

It's more on the psychological side. It's knowing the fact who actually owned the panties. Just like if you need to borrow a shirt in school for example. You'd probably prefer borrowing a shirt from a relative or a close friend rather than a random dude that might have some physical hygiene problem. Tongue
