10721  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: JP Buntinx on: November 27, 2017, 12:02:01 PM
I don’t have anything against JP Buntix! I was just curious, because he is very prolific for a human. I wondered if anyone had doubts about the integrity of his journalism for that reason. Anyway, thank you so much for replying!

Reading about his biography, I found out that he is a Legendary member of the forum, so that alone would really tell about his personality. He is very knowledgeable and well experienced about bitcoin and cyrptocurrency that's why he can write very good articles.

Also- sorry, my original post was not very detailed...for some reason I thought everyone would know who I was talking about...and I meant to post this under the “media” or “press” subsection.  Anyway, JP Buntnix is a journalist. He posts about 8 articles a day on the Merkle...which is a source I know nothing about, if anyone cares to fill me in.

8 articles a days is just normal for a author who has a broad knowledge about the subject. Heck, they can even write one in under 5 minutes. He not only post on Merkle but other cryptonews website.
10722  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 9700$!!! New record! on: November 27, 2017, 06:42:37 AM

I woke up this morning and I saw something shocking happen. I see this is a very fantastic price increase. Everyone would be shocked and I'm quite disappointed to have sold some Bitcoin at the 9000USD rate, but when I'm patient enough then I can get more profit. This is a mistake and I still think that there will be another Bitcoin price increase.
Well, i am also feeling disappointed by doing a big mistake. I sold my bitcoin when it was $6000 a couple of weeks ago.
I thought the price will decrease again to $4000 and then it would be better chance for me to buy it cheap but everything happened against me.
I don't know if bitcoin ever goes down again but i am waiting the moment i see it at $4k-$5k.

I also sold some at around $9200 because I needed money that time. But I don't have any regrets though, I just took it in stride and be very to by it back when we see price correction later. The last update of the price I got is $9200 and I'm also as shock as you guys to see bitcoin knocking at the 5 digits. 3 Days to go before the end of the month, if we are going to hit it this month, then imagine would would be the price at the end of the year.

What's keeping bitcoin massive bull run? I don't know and I don't care. LOL. All I know is that bitcoin never stop to amazed us all.
10723  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can I earn bitcoin using facebook, youtube, or in any social media? on: November 27, 2017, 03:27:51 AM
Hi, I'm a newbie here in bitcoin and I'm not that really familiar with the methods and strategies in earning here.
Since this is an open forum and I don't want to commit any mistakes using it, i will just ask and get suggestions if bitcoin can be correlated in any social medias that i mentioned?
Thank you.

There are bounties that rewarded their participants with tokens though and not bitcoin. But you can exchange it to bitcoin. They allowed all to used all the social media's you have mentioned.

Its OK to commit mistakes, but you must learn from this mistakes so that you can't make it over and over again. I think everyone here committed a lot of mistakes especially in the beginning of their career so don't be afraid of it.
10724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Virus change crypto address on: November 26, 2017, 07:33:43 AM
wHAT IS that virus it sounds terrifying waaah. Did you get back your coins? Im afraid of those phishing viruses.

This is what you called a copy-and-paste-virus. Numerous thread has been opened here since last year.

This is one of the latest:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1841658.0

That's why its very important to update your anti-virus very frequently and double check the addresses. Hackers are really targeting crypto because is very easy for they to stole our bitcoins and altcoins and they can easily hide it by using tumblers. So just be careful.

To the OP, bitcoin is irreversible so I don't think that you can get back your money. Thanks for the warning though.
10725  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: JP Buntinx on: November 26, 2017, 06:31:47 AM
Am I the only person that thinks JP Buntinx is bot and not a real person? I searched and didn’t see any commentary on this forum. I’m pretty sure JP Buntinx is not a real  journalist. Thoughts?

Why are you particularly interested with this person though? Did he scam you or something. Its fairly a practice in the writing world that authors used pen names. And the way I see it is that he is a freelance writer, so he maybe writing articles to other bitcoin news website and using another pseudonym.

As a side note, I would like to state – for the record – that I never bought or invested in Bitcoin through trading. All of the bitcoins I have earned since 2013 have come through writing, forum signatures on Bitcointalk, and running my own website.

So that's its mate. Looks like he admitted already that the is a forum member of this community and not a bot or something.
10726  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is going up to 8.6K? on: November 26, 2017, 05:57:32 AM
Let's just say that there are fresh blood coming into the ecosystem and pushing the price to $8900 now and $9000 will be the next wall to breach. I' reading a lot of news and analyst pointing out the obvious that bitcoin could go up to $10000 this year. This kind of positive aura make the ecosystem very bullish which turn into the price going up.

Or maybe the CME rumor is just another factor, it is still a rumor and hasn't implemented yet and imagine what happened if this is approved, bitcoin price will shoot to the moon.
10727  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CoinGather is officially hacked on: November 26, 2017, 03:01:35 AM
I just checked coinmarketcap and see the trading volumes and its aside from few good coins like ETH, that exchanges has been trading shitcoins. LOL.

It's a sign that this exchange will run off with their money with those trading volumes as well. Some of the coins in there, I haven't heard of them.

Not sure though how much money they got from their customers but I'm sure not that much but it is still a scam if the site didn't get back. But I wouldn't be surprise if they didn't.
10728  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Confido collected $ 340'000 on ICO and disappear on: November 25, 2017, 10:05:01 PM
My thoughts? They are really pulling a scam from the beginning. And we all fall for it and it really hurt ICO' and giving it a bad reputation. Confido team are really good at setting everything up. From the hiring of Atriz, I think he is still new in the bitcoin signature campaign that time and Confido team take advantage of it. In fairness to Atriz though, he also been scammed as well.

Again, this kind of stunt really put ICO at a bad position. But let's say that they are still people who are going to fall for any scam. We must moved on and be careful next time and really scrutinized every ICO that will come along.
10729  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia says BTC will never be legalised - do you think we'll see a knock on? on: November 25, 2017, 08:15:43 PM
Nikolai Nikiforov, the person making remarks about russia never legalising crypto, is a russian minister of communications and mass media.

Last I checked, communications and media don't have much to do with economic policy or financial planning.

Nikolai Nikiforov appears to be commenting on areas outside his expertise and knowledge. If Nikolai were commenting on the news media or internet infrastructure his comments might be legitimate. But as he's commenting on policies involving finance and economic matters it is possible that he's speaking his personal opinion on the topic, rather than what russia itself endorses as a state.

That's why you never really know who should be making the official announcement from Russian government about bitcoin and crypto because its been really confusing for most of us the statement coming from them. Like watching a tennis ball bouncing from one court to another. They contradicts every statement they made.  Angry

This maybe his personal comments, but it still have impact for the Russian bitcoin community because he is part of the government. Russians may think then that his statement carry that much weight whether its his personal views or the Russian government itself.
10730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin, Ether Prices Surge to Fresh All-Time Highs on: November 25, 2017, 07:36:52 PM
The top two cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, bitcoin and ether, have continued their respective rallies, setting fresh record highs today. Having traded more or less sideways since Monday, prices started to lift at 07:00 UTC, setting the new all-time high at 09:43.

according to CoinDesk’s Bitcoin Price Index. Bitcoin started the session today at $8,201, and is up 2.85 percent for the session.

According to CoinMarketCap, bitcoin has risen 11.97 percent over 24 hours, and 39.25 percent for the week. The sharp gains come as the combined market capitalization for all cryptocurrencies also peaks at new highs – currently standing at $267.6 billion.
A great news to haer especially for Ethereum it has been quite stagnant for past few months. Finally it is increasing to around $450. This is quite a good news for all the alts as the market was quite red for a few days. I hope this bullish trend could continue until the Christmas.

Never really thought that Ethereum will make a comeback before the end of the year. Yes, its been stagnant for the past few months, after reaching its peak this June. It also break its previous all-time-high. This is due to the positive outcome of its developers meeting last week.

Bitcoin though is different, its been a roller coaster right specially in the last 3 months. Too many development and drama, but it remains resilient and now a new all-time-high is reached again. The CME news really brings the market to the next level. Let's see if it can touch 5 digits before the end of the year.
10731  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Connect Coin @ connect-coin.com IS A FUCKIN SCAM !!! on: November 24, 2017, 02:08:23 PM
I don't see the "Team" section on their website anymore, LOL! Tongue
Gleb thanks for raising awareness, I have to say that their site actually looks professional, this scam was more difficult to spot.

LOL. It has been taken down already.

A lot of typo's as well on the "About Us' section, don't know how to properly space a word.  Grin

Well if you haven't know Gleb, he is the forum's scam buster. He has literally found hundred if not thousands of scam. He can smell them from a far. Another good work Gleb and thanks for the warning again.
10732  Economy / Speculation / Re: And We Are Back In The Game! on: November 24, 2017, 12:32:47 PM
Actually I am glad that Roger Ver and Jihan Wu carried out this market manipulation through BCH. I was able to predict the strength of Bitcoin and its market. People never did actually move to BCH completely abandoning Bitcoin. Bitcoin came out better. This shows these petty acts can't harm Bitcoin today, they might have impacted earlier. But now Bitcoin is being supported at global and huge level and thus manipulation isn't that easy.

This is the strength of decentralization!
BCH can never harm btc because there are so many followers of bitcoin now and they will never see the fall of this coin and whenever the fall occurs investors will get unite and they will invest more to give this coin prosperity and as BCH is concerned it is kid in front of btc and those who are saying that BCH will cross btc they are mentally ill and btc has outclassed all the alts and next victim will be BCH and its near.

Its not that bitcoin has many followers, there's no question about it. The problem with bitcoin cash is that the people behind it is as shady as the coin itself. Its a knock off coins and the price jump is just a maneuver by the Chinese miners and is proponents. Its just a another coin for pump-and-dump and for profit taking but the people behind it.

And look how the community reacts, the price has fallen significantly after the dump, although its trying to make a comeback, however they don't have the consensus of our community and it will not gain any steam anymore.
10733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What was your reaction the first time you heard the word "cryptocurrency" on: November 24, 2017, 11:13:16 AM
Of course, i know that most people heard about bitcoin before other cryptocurrencies. Would you have believed that bitcoin will be this successful?

To be honest, I really don't think that bitcoin could reach this far. The first time I heard cryptos or bitcoin was around 2011 try my hands on it but totally give up because I don't see any future. However, things have changed. You can see that in this year alone, bitcoin price exponentially grow to 700% which has not been done before.

Now, I'm hook on it, although there are regrets for not believing in it before, I still think that its not to late to join the bandwagon and connect myself into the ecosystem and recover my lost ground.
10734  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin=easy money on: November 23, 2017, 01:29:44 PM
I really don't understand why people are equating bitcoin to easy money. Bitcoin is being earn and you need to have to put up either capital (trading/investing) and effort (signature campaign, services offered) in order to have bitcoin. The only way to have easy money is thru gambling but it has high risk and you might ended up losing.

And now since the demand is increasing, its really getting harder to earn. Just look at how signature are paying paid now, a Full Member before is getting .0075BTC but today its .006BTC.
10735  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next FUD? on: November 23, 2017, 12:13:03 PM
I really think there are still FUD lurking around the Forum or on the net that telling the media about bitcoin being a scam but it really doesn't do much with the price of bitcoin it is just a coincidence when James Dimon the CEO of JP Morgan just spout that bitcoin are a fraud or a scam produce a massive Fear towards selling of massive amount of bitcoin, back then the price just stumble down but then recovers, and right now I think that many users are more knowledgeable now that is why even if there are so much FUD right now it is not a big deal or an issue anymore.

Yes, there are still FUD going around. They will never be gone, and they are plainly obvious when bitcoin price drops.  We don't even need FUD to pull back the price. Manipulators can strike anytime. They can just set big sell orders and then boom, lot of members follow suit without knowing what causes the massive sell, then FUD's ride with the massive dump.

As for preparation, I guess there is none as well. Just remain vigilant, go around the forum, the Press Release section and see what's the current trend is. Before making the decision to push the sell button or hodl.
10736  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-22] Philippines to Legalize Bitcoin as a Security on: November 23, 2017, 11:20:44 AM
Another welcoming news to the Filipinos. Although Philippines is still very young in the cryptocurrency because not everyone know about it, I'm sure this news its another step that will make bitcoin be recognize and merchants began to accept bitcoin in that country. I noticed though that is it Asia that really leading the way for bitcoin to be fully recognized globally. I guess with recognition, comes taxation.  Grin

I expect this fact will rise the economy of whole Philippines and make citizens more wealthy so they will not need to look for other opportunities to earn in abroad or turning to a criminal, let's be realists. It is a wonderful country and I crypto legalization will bring many advantages to them.

I don't think the economy will be affected that much, although I believed that Filipinos will really get the benefit from bitcoin trading and investing.
10737  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Possibilities in future and negatives on: November 23, 2017, 10:20:43 AM
Better be always cautios and vigilant to all ICO's that are coming this days most of them are really scams and if they grab some money from the investors they will run away and they are even worst from those people who says bitcoin is a bubble, but actually most ICO's are the bubble one. If you want to invest in an ICO make sure not to put all eggs in one basket and don't risk of what you can afford to lose as always. Hope many would realize that now.

But the thing is that people are really gullible and easily persuaded to join this so called airdrop and think that they are getting free money here. Its not. Initially, airdrops seem to be the next "IT" thing in marketing. But lately most airdrop become scam itself.

I don't think that people can stop developing all this kinds of shitcoins because there are a lot of individuals still falling for it.  And in my opinion, CMC will have to deal with and probably put ways to stop it ever the plans push through.

10738  Economy / Economics / Re: Future of the BTC on: November 23, 2017, 09:10:41 AM
With such a high volatility in bitcoin, for me it is not a big problem and I think it is something very interesting. Bitcoin also has a high security system, so I need not worry. Bitcoin still has a good future, I'm sure of it and will no doubt. See now the bitcoin price has rebounded and has reached $7700. It proves if the bitcoin enthusiasts are still very high and the demand on bitcoin keeps growing. I'm sure bitcoin has a very big future and prospect in the future.

As traders, volatility is our "friend" specially for day traders. Its one aspect of bitcoin that we really like unlike stocks or any trading market. If you know how to play arbitrage then you will love how volatility works.

As for the future of bitcoin, no one really know for sure. Maybe we can see new coins being embrace just like bitcoin. But definitely bitcoin has already a foothold and has the trust of most traders and investors that's why the price keeps going up. This alone will show that bitcoin can stay at the top for so long.
10739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BITCOIN is the KING on: November 22, 2017, 07:09:06 PM
will bitcoin dip soon? i want to buy in

No one here has the crystal ball to predict when bitcoin price is going to drop. You just have to wait buddy. And not only you are waiting for the dip to enter the market, there are hundreds of investors who are waiting to buy bitcoin. Bitcoin can't go parabolic, it will bound to happen.

There is no question that bitcoin is the King and no attacks can really pull it down. A few attempts have been made already but bitcoin was able to withstand all of it and even rebounded from such condition very quickly.

Bitcoin was, is, and will be king for whole coins until the end of crypto which will be at the end of the world so he is the forever king.

LOL mate, you already stretch it too far, let's not talk crypto's and end of the world in one sentence. It doesn't make sense at all. Grin
10740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: About Bitcoin Bad Rumors on: November 22, 2017, 06:36:01 PM
Jim Rogers, a banker and another traditional investor, is calling Bitcoin a bubble. This is not new. But what keeps these people talking trash about Bitcoin? Definitely, these investors who own financial institutions, have their own agenda and are playing their cards.

In this article: http://dashplanet.blogspot.com/2017/11/whats-behind-about-bitcoin-bad-rumors.html, there's a good insight about the true reason why these people are spreading these rumors.

I read the article and almost everything written their is correct, although most of us are all aware as why bankers are really attacking bitcoin and why several nations are banning the whole cryptocurrency arena Everyone who bashes bitcoin have their own agenda behind.

Just like what Jamie Dimon did earlier, he ride the wave of the China FUD and added his own spin. Then later we found out that JP Morgan bought huge amount of bitcoin during the crash. Its gonna be a constant battle, but the more they attack bitcoin, the more it grows stronger.
