1082  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Accepting Bitcoins on eBay? on: January 05, 2014, 10:43:27 PM
I'd also list the item for a longer time, like 7 or 10 days, then stop the auction one full day before it ends to avoid paying ebay fees if someone doesn't read the directions and does bid cash on it.

eBay charged me last month for just listing an item... and it didn't even sell.

Seriously? And a person should trust you with their private key, why?

I'd advise caution downloading anything from a newb on his first post.

^ this.

Whats weird is that he wants 1 BTC and thats how much I sent to escrow in the previous thread. Maybe he is trying to get someone to go outside escrow to secure the good deal. In my correspondence with the other OP he wanted to find a way for me to trust him and not use escrow.

Edit- another link where newbies are selling lots of cagecoins added
Figuring how he's the dev of cagecoins... There are lots of new members (with less than 10 posts) selling his worthless coins for BTC. Check it out. Looks like he pumped his coins, now getting rid of them.

Same person, so busted! Didn't even bother to change his writing style or interests.

Coincidences?
- both selling the same damn thing
- both inquiring about open air rigs
- this user created the day skyisthelimit last appeared; prolly not his 2nd account either
- both spend most their time in alt currency forum
- both don't know how to capitalize first letter of a sentence, not to mention the style

1087  Economy / Goods / WTS iPad Mini 64GB (LTE) for Newegg gift card on: January 05, 2014, 01:39:21 PM
As much as I hate to... this may be a quicker means for me to get the remaining hardware I need for my rig.

Please PM offers. If you're willing to loan me and hold my iPad as collateral, I'm good with that as well.

Escrow terms: We both must agree who will handle and buyer pays fee.
1088  Other / Off-topic / Re: Whats is your IQ? on: January 05, 2014, 12:41:53 PM
Lol.  Everyone thinks they are way way WAY above average.  Smiley

What do you mean WAY above average?! LOL. 60% of the responders are geniuses.
1089  Other / Off-topic / Re: Whats is your IQ? on: January 05, 2014, 12:34:45 PM
IQ is practically irrelevant and I have a very high score - tested by Mensa in a classroom.

It is just a score used to highlight a persons ability to think logically in a number of different areas of testing. Its useful for very little other than boasting and belittling others!

What I have noticed with high IQ types is their inability to see problems holistically. This is where you see that some problems require a time line that isn't always connected but can still influence final outcomes.

Your response alone is enough to make me doubt you have a high IQ. Let me guess, you were one of majority who voted their IQ is higher than less one percent of the total population? Perhaps you don't understand what IQ measure. Don't think there's any utility in this poll's results. Well, I take that back... this is pretty entertaining.

You got me curious now...

Were you an anonymous lender and didn't get repaid?
1091  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 1of the gpu always DEAD overnight on: January 03, 2014, 08:20:59 AM
If you could give the exact model of the graphics card that would help, but to me 750Watts running graphics two graphics card at full ( which is what any kind of crypto mining does ) is the bare minimum for your energy requirements, it may be shutting off one down so that you can keep the other running.

Concur. Your cards are pulling approx 600w collectively, leaving the rest to power your mobo and fans, which isn't enough quite frankly.
1092  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 1 gpu always DEAD overnight on: January 03, 2014, 07:50:26 AM
Do you have enough power to your rig?

Ok fine. Reserved for me.

Maybe I should rethink this...

I haven't seen this thread until now, but I'm so excited I was able to contribute .1 BTC to this effort. I don't usually make my donations public, but skimming through this thread really brightened my day. I first heard about it on Twitter; BTCquick tweeted, and I retweeted. My twitter account exists only to check on the status of my coins, but I certainly hope my retweet helped in spreading the word. I'll update this post with the transaction ID from one of my archived addresses; would hate to be accused of lying.

This is a much better side of the bitcoin community.

Thank you SeansOutpost for setting a good example Smiley

1096  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-12-31 Bitcoin Lemonaid stand on: January 03, 2014, 03:52:08 AM
I dont really think they were in it to make a massive amount of bitcoin, Face it, kids at that age have little concept of money. Also i hardly think this is a "news story" if this were to make it into a newspaper, i would fear for the future of journalism. I found it on a facebook page about bitcoin that i am subscribed to. I really think it was more about stating that bitcoin has reached even the young audience. If you look at the address on blockchain.info you will see that they didnt make a single uBTC selling cookies and the only thing they got in donations was less than $20 USD which sadly came from this forum. Lets face it, now that bitcoin has became all the buzz and since there is an influx of scamers out there. nobody donates bitcoin anymore. The only reason i did was because even if it was a sham. its good publicity for bitcoin and if nothing more, then i hope whoever put it all together is encouraged to do more. Although i honestly think that would have been a lot of work to go through for such little payout.

And in response to your printing the handwritten ones. If it were all printed i would have for sure thought it was a photoshop job, printed text can be faked easily, while handwritten on paper would be a ton more work.

If this were a scam (no judgement), I'd say it's rather brilliant. The cuteness of the idea alone will win the coins hearts of many Smiley

Surely a big brother wouldn't do this for gain but for all we know, it could've been a complete stranger who seized the perfect photo opp. I mean, if the lil cuties printed their QR code... why not all those handwritten ones? And mom in the back ground certainly looks like a bitcoiner. Well, someone had to educate them.

Not implying this is a scam... I'm only saying that we need to remain vigilant is all. Scammers are getting really creative. What will they think of next?

I totally get your rationale; it makes sense and I agree it is inspiring Smiley Given the method of promotion this has the potential to earn someone a big payday. How much did the football kid make again? Again, not saying it's a scam, but if it is, it's a good one.

I'm also glad you didn't accuse me of calling you a scammer because I didn't. If this is posted on FB you were just a vehicle used to solicit... If this a scam that is.

I'm curious how this works, now. What are the first two numbers actually referencing? gmaxwell is +205 and still red to me.

Interesting... He's not to me. But then I have no trust ratings myself to interfere with the calculation. I read somewhere on here how it works, but because there's no need for me to have trust on this forum, brain dump. Maybe you're trusting someone who distrusts him? And you may not be trusting that person directly, could be another level down. Someone you trust trusts someone who distrust him. Idk really, just guessing.
