1081  Economy / Speculation / Re: Get ready to buy on: March 06, 2017, 03:40:47 PM
The second that decision is made and released, I'm buying if rule change is approved for ETF.  It'll be shooting up likely but still will only have upside in future.  Holding off until then also but keeping close eye on it.  If rule change is denied, then we'll see a pretty large $200-300 drop at least in my opinion for a bit.

1082  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 03, 2017, 10:28:55 PM
It's going to run up this weekend likely further by those with available funds buying now before newbies waiting on bank funds to process and arrive Mon/Tue/Wed can buy.
1083  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price climbing fast again on: March 01, 2017, 01:25:06 PM
Man, I believe we are headed up for good now after this many years.  I picked up another 1 BTC just now and it was a bit painful buying at the $1200 level but felt great still as well securing another full coin ultimately "early" still overall.

1084  Economy / Speculation / Re: POLL : ETF approval or disapproval on: February 28, 2017, 11:28:37 AM
It'll be March 10th at latest.  They don't work on Saturday.
1085  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chinese EFT Expectations on: February 28, 2017, 02:43:08 AM
I think chance of approval is factored in, but not full approval.  If approved, we'll see a fast climb up.  If rule change is denied for COIN listing on Bats, we'll see a very fast drop, maybe $300-$400 down to the $800+ range again for a bit.  There will be other ETFs or ultimately people will start to move on, but a lot rides on the next two weeks by March 10th.
1086  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why does BTC drop much more sharply then it rises? on: February 28, 2017, 02:32:31 AM
ha its doing that right now; 1215 down to 1195 and dropping in like 1 minute...
1087  Economy / Speculation / Re: voting: $750 in 1/12/2016? on: December 01, 2016, 07:07:18 PM
I think we are $750+ for a while.  Too much tailwind right now with 1) Italian referendum on Sunday, 2)an Venezuela increasing, 3) India deadline for notes due looming end of year, 4) China devaluation, and 5) ETF potential, and 6) overall adoption positives.  Other minor items like BTC continuing to prove stability, Ethereum unexpected forks, and other virtual currencies proving BTC's simplicity = stability often.

1088  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will price be at around $700 by end of october on: October 11, 2016, 01:56:15 PM
We will likely continue to see a surge here before 10/18, the date the SEC is supposed to either approve or extend the COIN (Winklevoss) ETF.  If approved on that date, will really spike, if not likely retract some.

1089  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 22, 2016, 12:49:57 AM
The next President, Trump, is about to speak.  Bitcoin will explode upward during/after his speech!  ;-)
1090  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 21, 2016, 01:50:51 AM
Man, so the US markets are breaking a new high every day for the last 8 days.  I see the equities doing so strong that BTC isn't as attractive, that can't last and seems like bubble territory in the stock market right now.

This combined with the Japanese probably announcing a 20 trillion Yen stimulus, like 180 Billion USD I think, should really send BTC at least somewhat hire for those not wanting to hold on to the surely devalued Yen.
1091  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next breakout in bitcoins price when will it be? on: July 14, 2016, 09:59:57 PM
Depends also on some new developments finally coming to fruition.  The COIN ETF should be decided on by around mid-August, thus launching after that on the BATS exchange - that's a big deal.  This other ETF filing to be on NYSE is a big deal also, insured, etc.  These will drive in some major institutional funds as levels we haven't seen before.

Along with those, agree that the halving won't show any effect here for a while so sideways consolidation is good for now until the above items occur...
1092  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BitcoinWisdom.com - Live Bitcoin/LiteCoin Charts on: May 28, 2016, 01:47:46 AM
Still like and use the site a lot.  The premium feature, monthly at .04 BTC, seems a bit high at $20 a month now almost with BTC around $470-480.  I mean, Hulu unlimited is like $10 get get endless HD media.
1093  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will rise? on: May 21, 2016, 03:55:57 PM
Maybe.  I read all the comments on here from days ago saying "will certainly rise", "will surely continue to rise", "rise before the halving", etc.  The price has dropped again and is trending overall downwards.  Using all those statements above its great, I actually hope it increases in value and utility as well but there really isn't anything backing it right now and no real reason to increase just yet.  May just hold steady or even decline this year - who knows.

The halving seems a bit priced in already but likely not.  For it, people tend to stick to calendar type deadlines.  It is likely to occur on/around July 11th, thus we could see news stories and such picking up on the halving around June 11th+ leading to increased interests, buying, price increases.  It'll likely drop after the halving again, but maybe not to the old lows...

As a basic user, I think positives will be lightening network full production release, depending on SegWit activation, those being 2017+, and other economic large scale country's failing somewhat and having some movers to BTC.  It just seems to be a manipulated short-term money maker investment until then, led by Chinese exchanges with all the volume.  It'll get up $20-30, then suddenly drop, doing it over and over now.  Ethereum seems to be grabbing headlines lately as well but still has to prove long-term staying power...
1094  Economy / Speculation / Re: SecondMarket Bitcoin Investment Trust Observer on: April 25, 2015, 01:40:13 AM
So shareholders have instructions on how to transfer shares to there account...  How long does that take lol.  If its instant we should see some asks on Monday.

It should be pretty instantly available, just depends on then the internal/review process at Grayscale to make the available.

It seems a little timed to be at end of Friday, setting up for Monday trades.  I think if you see a little higher volume this weekend and run up on price, it was manipulated this way for internal individuals to snatch up regular Bitcoins at low price before GBTC drives its up further - but then a dump is possible, but I think they would hold a while...  It is harder for a lot of people to be able to buy over weekend as they would have to wait for additional fiat to deposit/clear at exchanges...
1095  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if Winklevoss' bitcoin ETF would be the same as Barry Silbert's GBTC on: April 05, 2015, 11:54:24 PM
Trading isn't even expected until the week of 4/6 - it isn't late or inactive yet.  There will be trades on day one.  Orders can be created it seems but are not routing yet according to my corporate system.
1096  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-03-28] The Bitcoin Investment Trust (BIT) Goes Live with Ticker GBTC on: March 31, 2015, 02:07:47 PM
The Bitcoin Investment Trust (BIT) Goes Live with Ticker GBTC

A few weeks ago Bitcoin Magazine reported that the Bitcoin Investment Trust (BIT) was about to become the first publicly traded Bitcoin fund. On Thursday, the BIT received formal approval for listing on the OTC Markets Group’s OTCQX exchange. The fund is listed with the symbol GBTC, and trading is expected to begin early next week.

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/19760/bitcoin-investment-trust-bit-goes-live-ticker-gbtc/

So there are bids as late as today, 3/31/15, but still no volume.  Any idea when this will start trading yet from anyone?

The odd thing is, that bids are at 35.51 (highest) for each share, x10, = $355.10 for an actual BTC.  BTC price is around $245.  If these trades start around those levels, impact to BTC prices on exchanges most likely?

1097  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is 2015 The Year? on: March 28, 2015, 04:43:19 PM
Seems like 2015 is starting to look up for a strong rebound or even permanent trend upwards.

1) next week it seems we may see a nice pop when the GBTC quasi-ETF starts seeing some trades finally - the initial puts will demand a BTC price jump back up toward $300 to make sense...

2) the tons of wall street news just doesn't seem to stop each week now.  it is always the announcement of plans though so when we finally start seeing some launches and action the price should head up - as market cap grows.  if market cap shoots up, price has to as well...
  - Gemini, first "true regulated USA based exchange" was supposed to launch in Q1.  you would assume any day now even if late.
  - COIN true ETF should launch in near future as well.  been very quiet which is a good sign and you would think it'll target around same time or after Gemini.
  - We have all these ex-financial exec leads jumping into BTC now, sure the ones that exploded CDOs, etc.  Seems shady a bit but go ahead and ride along.

3) Adoption continues at a stead pace as a "currency."  This will continue to get interesting as price rises from above.

4) Europe is due to implode any day still now - can't prop it up forever.

5) USA $$$ is due to implode one day.  I mean we are at what $19 trillion in debt, the first rate increase is due finally, the markets should dive somewhat, inflated tech stock values has Silicon Valley in a bubble somewhat again, etc.  Come on...

5) China, they love BTC but just need a reason to throw fund into it more acceptingly - government will give up trying to block some day and approve of it.  China itself is in a huge credit bubble that is going to bust eventually as well so people will want to get out of the yuan and into something, BTC will see some growth...

1098  Economy / Speculation / Re: $350 by Sunday on: March 14, 2015, 12:14:20 AM
I pinky swear.

As of Friday evening we are heading the other way, down, 280s, 270s it appears in trend...  sure would love to see $350 though if there was a reason/news but appears nada.

I think some disruptive innovations have to come around the increase the value of the coin again. Maybe some innovations that make it even more easier to use Bitcoin for the "normal" people.

This. I just cant see how the price can rise above 400 without a major news release about a new use of bitcoin that will deliver clear cost reductions and does not require people to hold btc for any more than a few seconds, and certainty does not require a physical wallet buried in the garden.

I think that case exist.  I finally used the Circle wallet to buy something at a store here in Chicago last week, scanned the QR, and it automatically deducted the amount from my bank account in $, paid the equivalent $ cost in BTC, and I really didn't even have to know BTC was being used in the background.  Finally a good experience for normal consumer.

As for other news, it will obviously seem to be wall street will be the news for this year.  Gemini releasing, then the first ETF will surely open up the world for capital to pour in - price will follow.  Maybe not up to $1000 in a day, but it'll well exceed 1K in no time IMHO.
1100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / POOLERINO CHANGES NEEDED on: April 13, 2014, 02:55:57 PM
Poolerino miners, we need a good number of you to move over to usde2.poolerino.com - Poolerino still makes up too much of this currency's hash rate in one pool right now.
