Hi I just joined the forum and would like to buy 2K BlackCoins for 3.5 cents each. I have that amount  on prelude .io currently BC/USD. I'm just trying to get started and it has been difficult for me to buy BlackCoins and I'm asking you guys to help me!

...won't you find that username annoying when you're not a newbie?

Suspicious name indeed

YoYo

Everything working fine.

Was just that the solder was not making contact properly.

And as I was launched also removed the SMD's and soldered the 47K's in place, took me a while with my cheapo solder iron but it's done and

the GS's are hashing happily right now at 1000mhz will go gradually until 1200 to see what's the sweet spot.

great on getting the 5V mod working,, correctly Wink
1200 is gonna be shaky with a 47k resistor.
You should use at least a 50k if not 52k...but at 52, it will start to suck too much juice and not yield maximum results, per my sweet spot test reports...
Lettuce know how you get along, lil doggie! Wink

So what's the best Mhz setting you experienced with the 47K ?
1083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GridSeed 5-chip USB miner voltage mod on: April 11, 2014, 02:52:34 AM
Thanks Wolfey and everyone else whom have contributed to this thread.

I bought a Weller 35watt iron and a pencil tip for it.

Picked my worst GS unit and now the little bugger has been running at 1200 for the past couple errors w/o a HW error (yet).

I did notice that the heatsink wasn't tightened down properly thus one of the GS chips wasn't making full contact with the thermal pad.  That might have something to do with the HW errors as has been mentioned before.

I'm going to begin modding my other GS units starting tomorrow ... not today.

It was a nerve-wracking experience for me.  But I have one under my belt now.  I at least know the general idea now.

I feel you Wink

my first one was also quite nerve wrecking !

Hmm that's weird then. I'll try on an other pod to see if it also gives problems. If it does then there must be something with the connection of the

solder to the board or so

Did you have the usb connected after you soldered it to test the fan? If you have a multimeter it would probably be less hassle to just pull that out and check to make sure that you are getting a voltage there.

Working now, did not have a multimeter.

On second pod worked right away, I guess on first one was a bit short on solder or something.

Thanks guys

That is the correct side of the correct component for 5v operation.  I am not sure why that did not work for you as it worked on mine.

Hi,

could someone tell me if this is the correct place as to use Wolfey's 5v mod? I tried it and fan does not run when I solder it there.

PS: I unsoldered it and just holding it in place now because I did not want to make it run and maybe soldered on the wrong component.

I make them run fanless now as they are not yet voltmoded but in the future I will.

Otherwise I'll just put the fan on a 5v rail of my PSU

If you see it longterm (i am speaking about 10-15 years) you couldnīt care less if its 200 or 500 right now.

I am buying because there is a saying " Kaufen wenn die Kanonen donnern"

english: " Buy when the Bombs are falling"

And sell when everybody is buying again! Buy low, sell high. easy. Just be patient.

Exactly that's how the market goes, problem is 99% is in for the quick $$ and do not have the long term patience

We've had a decent surge on Mintpal today. We are doing well considering we are not buying votes.

I still think we need to be on a larger exchange to help the marketplace (as Rofo needs to convert Noble at some point to buy new stock).

I agree, this coin needs to hit a big exchange
1090  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GridSeed 5-chip USB miner voltage mod on: April 10, 2014, 05:43:51 PM
Personally from the guide given here

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=554542.0

I do not understand how you flash the Tp link nor how you connect that to the gridseeds
1091  Economy / Services / Re: PB Mining -- 5 year mining contracts! on: April 10, 2014, 05:08:00 PM
right now all of us sleazy speculators would like to see it go down to 100 so that we can buy it...
somebody quick, think of a rumor i can spread,.. isn't bitcoin fattening or something?

Voila exactly Wink all speculators are just eager to buy in cheap
1092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Gridseed GC3355 -Hybrid Scrypt/SHA256 ASIC on: April 10, 2014, 05:06:48 PM
Hey, just put a paperclip between the green wire and the black wire and your PSU will fire up.

also for those running just a few gridseeds, first price cheapo PSU works just fine, I also run them on a 10$ PSU works great
1093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GridSeed 5-chip USB miner voltage mod on: April 10, 2014, 04:54:46 PM
AH my bad, I thought you needed both tp link + wii

then indeed it's alright
1094  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GridSeed 5-chip USB miner voltage mod on: April 10, 2014, 04:40:14 PM
Anyone with an overvolted Gridseed care to test the new per-chip auto-overclocking feature?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=554542.0
but its only for the controller not cgiminer or bfgminer Sad. SO is the firmware new firmware for the gridseeds or new firmware for the contoller? and i have a TP link 703n, just not modded it yet or flashed it, where can i get an image for flashing it for controllering the grids???

It will work with Tp-link 703N, just follow the guide on how to flash it. There is cpuminer included, its faster and more efficient at Gridseed mining than cgminer or bfgminer.

nice but the price of an Tp link + wiibox is to expensive to ROI just for that few hasing rate if you do not have an massive amount of gridseeds at home.

If you have just a few, IMHO it's better to buy 1 extra gridseed cheap.
1095  Economy / Services / Re: PB Mining -- 5 year mining contracts! on: April 10, 2014, 04:35:41 PM
what do you think about bitcoin prices ? currently 394$ and still dropping?

is it a btc buy time and re-invest to ghs in these cheap prices??

or the bitcoing era is over?

I do not think it is over at all, at the moment all is dropping just because of the Chinese exchanges closing down and some other little fuss.

This will take some time to flatten out before we will see some natural grow again.

That's my opinion only
1096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GridSeed 5-chip USB miner voltage mod on: April 10, 2014, 03:02:32 PM
Well after running the pair of units for 12 hours with the newer mod (49.9k) and 12v fans I am seeing good stability so far at 1175Mhz. It has given me around 1Mh/s client side and very near that pool side with only a single HW error for each so far. Power usage is around 22-25W each but electricity is cheap here.

Is it correct what I am seeing on the auto switching pools websites, that profitability is ~0.00420BTC per Mh/s and falling?  That really is rather sorry. Oh well.

Yeah BTC had again a big drop after some new chinese exchange closing news..
