Ok I've been quiet mostly for a few days thinking about this, don't know what the rest of the board thinks really, but its my opinion mintpal does have some kinda responsibility to this. Wouldn't if the network was getting attacked, mintpal should have noticed on day #1. Instead, they ignored it or knew about it, and it went on for 3 days. I've been a little out of it a few days so I picked up bits and pieces of what went down, mintpal doesn't really affect me as I have nothing there and wasn't excited about them to begin with. Now thought from what I hear, we were attacked, and now they are holding your C2 until they are compensated, saying they aren't held responsible for what happened that someone attacked and the devs are...
So we have a dev whose commitment is wobbling and a board that don't speak to each other. This isn't an attack on any individual in particular but somebody really needs to get their hands around this thing. People need to start communicating with each other. A board is supposed to have meetings and come to a consensus. Does this ever or has this ever happened? If not why not? Actually thats where your wrong, I am committed 100%, no where in my comment do I say I lose trust in C2, my comment is towards mintpal holding the communities coins for ransom. That is definately not the right solution when it was their lack of making the coins take longer to confirm on their end, but we could make them take longer on our end as well.. don't know if joel would agree or not, but longer confirm times would allow time for the attackers coins to null out since the coins would be on a separate block chain. I wish I could do the code for this, but I can't. |

I think they lost their damn minds... no one is responsible really, the devs can't be blamed for this simply because on a POS system in order for the network to be secure the holders need to at least be staking something, some of you are doing this, most of you are not. Mintpal can't really be blamed other than they are trying to rob us, think about it, the rich list that was made recently, we have narrowed the attackers address down with it, thanks to this thread and you guys pointing him out. We know it says he had 28 mil total at one point, but he only has 1.6 mil left now, there are a total of 54mil real coins across the rich list. At 60 million if we were to pay them what they want, I think it was somewheres around the 20 mil range, we would be hurting you, but they don't care. I agree it was their poor security that allowed this, if their confirmations has been higher to transfer there, the coins that had been created on the other blockchain would have been nulled before they transfered.
Ok long story short, mintpal is trying to screw us, my opinion only.

B) They are trying to go over the limit of coins to hurt you guys.
C)There are 61 mil total C2 thanks to stake, they want 20mil, across the rich list it says there are 100 addresses containing 54mil, most of those belong to holders. Where does that 20mil come in?
Mintpal has no right to treat the C2 holders like this and especially try to lay blame on us.

No, maybe the Coin2 team should provide everything for potential new users. Do you have to make your own burger when you go to Mcdonalds? You're coming across like an amateur with your conduct towards people who are going to help push the coin forward. You wouldn't have taken abuse if you'd been civil in the first place. This coin badly needs to give its PR some serious thought FFS We will think about it... May I suggest that just one person is responsible for dealing with the public. A focal point. Someone who can accumulate all the news and give a regular bulletin once every 24 hours. Someone who can liaise with all members of the team and present the news in a detailed and user/reader friendly way. You just simply cannot have senior members of the team swearing at and ridiculing new users who may not be technically minded or may not use English as a first language. There are too many cooks at the moment and it really is too fragmented. I'm not criticising the job you're doing but there is no continuity. It's a bit of a mess at the moment to be honest. Another point I'd like to make is all this 'it's coming soon, get ready for big news next week, we have something very big coming'. I've been hearing this for weeks now and it's tiring to be honest. It just doesn't sound good. I appreciate the need to keep things quiet but I think regular updates on progress would be beneficial and you wouldn't have to give too much of the detail away. Look, if you want an extra body to help I could set up a simple website with Coin2 news and help bring the community together. It might be a benefit to have an independent person who can act as a go between, between the public/users and the Coin2 team. I agree with there being one person responsible for PR. I do however disagree that we haven't been giving updates for weeks. I have personally been saying what is going on without giving the game away fully nearly every time I come on here. People choose to ignore it for some reason lol It is only the past week I have been quiet due to some major interest in the coin which I have been dealing with. I have literally been taking phone calls all day for the past 4 days or so. I have already arranged for someone to take over the position of promotion and public relations for the coin and it will be announced shortly. Meanwhile the game is developed, should't we think about other promotion moves? What do you think about, for example, gold bars or special prepaid game cards?
that can come in time, we have to get promotional kits ready and everything if were gonna go advertising for the game, that means videos recorded during beta tests, screen shots taking, tutorials on how to play, all kinds of things, what we need to focus on now is getting materials ready for people so that they can invest in NC2 the hard way for now, which is going through BTC.. You know what I'm gonna start a community thing now.. involve you guys since all im doing is running coin2talk atm, but this will help out some if the community takes part in a group project. We need to promote, spread word, who gives a damn how the code was made, i dont care if it was copy and paste.. cause odds are your ALT is a clone of bitcoin with new features and possibly a different algorithm. I create a type of game back in the day called a mud, it was a clone of another mud, which was in turn a clone of another.. NO ONE CARES ABOUT CLONES EXCEPT TROLLS. Ok I got distracted.. lol... ok simple stuff the community can do.. Flyers, artwork, runnin your mouths, write a song, think of things that dont have to do with the game. As far as green energy goes, alot thinks we have strayed, we haven't, think about it, most people will spend 3 - 4 hours a day playing Chain of Conflict to wager C2, thats 3 - 4 hours running their gpu at half speed more than likely, not sure what the graphics of the game will be like, im not actively on that project now, but the thing is 3 - 4 hours a day is not 24hours a day 7 days a week constant GPU usage.. So You can still promote Coin2 as Green. I'll think of some more things to do, or you guys can help me come up with them, but this is things for you guys to help increase your profits not more work stack on top of the things we already have on our plates Agreed. As a community we need to come together. I'm sure this community has many talented artists, web developers and people with creative minds. Perhaps involve a couple choice members to check out the beta? Give us as much artwork also. Let us have the tools to create marketing materials. Also, to the community: Can we please set our sell orders higher? It's our own problem that the coin is down. We're dumping our coins to a ridiculously cheap value. IMHO only. As investor, I don't really give a damn on who dump the coins if values there. Nor I give a shit Dev take profit or being rich. As long as, passions with the product remain and committed to produce the product intrinsic value. Focus on product money management and improve value which is C2 seems freeze in time at the moment, except Kings' only one fully in his best....

Go out tell your friends, tell your neighbors, tell your dog, tell your friends dog, and your neighbors, just do some promoting, create some web guides on how to get Coin2 for a noob. I suggest screenshots, links to Fiat/BTC exchanges, then how to transfer to another exchange and buy C2.. we are trying to attract real investors to Coin2 not just the Crypto investors. We need a working php system to send and recieve coin2 to work with the game and many other projects. We have this currently in production, but if you know how to program, write some programs that can do things with Coin2, tell current market value, or a program to buy btc from a fiat/btc exchange than allow you to quickly buy Coin2 from any of the btc/NC2 exchanges This is as transparent as I feel like being atm, but You guys need to take the coins fate in your own hands as well, you guys drive the price, what its worth to any new investors, what the devs do is build the foundation that supports it, but you guys control the price. |
