how much does it cost to host something like that at a data center?

ALOT, but i believe he owns the place so  Grin
1082  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: April 04, 2014, 10:14:48 PM
Everything is down right now..give it time.  I used to mine LTC when they were no profitable, and then boom $38 each.  You can not base mining on just the current prices.

Well.... unless you get free electricity, it aint cheap. If you're speculating altcoins, might as well buy them when the price is low (and not having hassle with heat and noise)

Before I head to the gym, here's the quick video of the initial boot with sound so you can hear the fans. http://youtu.be/sQYtbtsyKdU

I hope you dont sleep with that thing on Cheesy

All the GPU's have already more than ROI..once KNC/Alpha ever ship I will mine Vert or whatever is good at the time.

Thats one of the main advantages of GPU's, they're not for a single purpose. When scrypt coins get rare you can still mine coins other algos not so much with asics.

thats assuming other altcoins are also being pumped. I think the market is tired of all the pump and dump altcoins. I dont see any altcoin that gives profitable mining. Might as well buy them if you're into pump and dump

If anyone is wondering, I'm seeing 10A @ 208V for two S2 units on my PDU.

What PDU are you using?

Gridseed Table...nice and organized  Roll Eyes

GPU Rigs

More GPU rigs

Haha yeah looks ridiculous doesn't it.. Sad part is I have 1 more setup (not pictured) with 20Mh more of GPU's

ouch you're better liquidating those GPUs NOW.....
1087  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: VMC Fast-Hash One Prospector 512GH/s 0.7w/GH - Setup Guide on: April 04, 2014, 07:27:30 PM
Is it me or do these look exactly like the HashFast(Scam) boards/chips?

Where/how did VMC acquire these?

HashFast claimed that they're having components shortage hence they dont ship their miners to the customers.....

However its damn clear they sold their cards to private dealers. (increase more cashflow)

Ofcourse these dealers will claim they're producing cards using HF's ref design.

1088  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 04, 2014, 04:33:26 AM
wow after checking the pics, i'm shocked at the poor design.....

They didnt learn from bitfury? the motherboard fiasco again?

Stupid engineering.

Not one fcking team learm from ASICminer.

I recieved my March 29th miner on Monday and have question.  The machine is up and running but one of the 4 blades receives many more hardware errors than the others and the hashrate is 5% less.  Addionally, the accepted shares run about 15% less than the other blades.  Any thoughts?  How can I troubleshoot this?
miller has reported a similar question, i will ask the engineer for help, what is the real hash rate your miner perform now?

right now it is around 985 GH/s

anything new on this?  I continue to have the same problem with hashrate and errors

Did you read 985GH/s from the web stat of the miner? or the pool?

Well, since the thread is back:

how loud is the S2?

1091  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: AntMiner S2 1TH/s Miner (1w/GH/s) on: April 04, 2014, 02:11:29 AM
good to see all the old vets are back into mining

Cheesy

Sadly i didnt have a chance to get some S2 Sad

Really? There is already a thread for exactly this.

There WAS a thread for this. Please see the old archival stuff.

Lame.

Bring on the new hash!
I've brought it back from the dead! It was collateral damage from the merging of the hardware sections.

Can you use your super power to delete all BFL related thread and block BFL from posting... even block any thread that mention BFL ?

I will buy you a full rips and a case of beer Cheesy

In the process of moving things around to help get ready for Texas Summer 2k14.

4x 240V 30AMP twist lock
8x KNC Jupiter (4 Oct / 4 Nov)
16x Ants
5x Dragon T1s
1x Avalon that will never leave...

Added LED's for extras HP!

This rack was empty last night so some of the wiring it got late so I just plugged it in.

There is another 4 KNC's and 2 more Dragon Miners that haven't made it over yet.  Plans for tomorrow evening.

hahah you turned a auto garage into a mining op..... This shows how terrible the auto service industry is...
1094  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The Habanero Project - Third Party HF Mining Board on: April 04, 2014, 01:38:49 AM
lol looks like 90% from HashFast design....

Terrible design.

If you think you would have any chance of making profits from this, at least design the board for HCL setup so private asshole can buy +1000 boards from you.

In the old thread you said you own this data center?

If so , i envy you
I'm curious, does you have special rate from electrical company for data center type of business?

Pecaili, do you know why the top fan (of the new chasis) is bigger than than the bottom one?

Can you ask the engineer why do we need a strong fan for the top?

I plan to replace the fans so i want to be safe.

i will ask the engineer and answer your question, for all of the people who want to get rid of noise, over-heat, my host plan is a good choice and welcome to join, if you want to own more than 5 units it will cause many problem if you put them in home, the over-load of electricity, noise, temperature, it will be more and more serious if you are about to have a long and hot summer

Had i know it make this much noise, i would have gone with your hosting plan. Altho you should clarify and confirm that the Chinese government wont confiscate the mining equipment if they ban everything related to bitcoin.

Top fan provides 2x airflow compared to others. If you replace it with lesser fan the unit will overheat.

and why only the top blades need more airflow?

Aw.... you didnt answer my question but simply state the obvious did you?

anyone successfully find replacement fans for lower noise?

The stock ones are damn loud.
1100  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Whats your recommended 120mm fans for low noise? on: April 03, 2014, 05:13:46 PM
As title said, it has been awhile since i shop 120mm fans.

I'm looking for something with the best airflow while being considered low noise.
