I developped a small CLI script in ruby doing just that with the blockchain.info API. You can check it out here on github. I hope this helps. thanks...how would i look without revealing my ip....12p or something? Why are you so afraid of revealing your IP(as it pertains to BC.i)? Chances are you visited Blockchain.INFO long before you started to want to hide your IP.

The reference client is written in C++, but it can be reimplemented in pretty much any language(although the reference client developers don't recommend it because you need to be fairly intimate with the protocol).

Did you CALL the bank?
That letter is written so poorly, it HAS to be fake.
If it's real, leave that bank anyway.
Sorry, I see you DID call. That bank's letter looks like it was written by a 5 year old... surely you have other banks where you live?
I agree.. Letter seems very poorly written for a bank. You should mention that to your local branch. Do not live in the UK, but do live in Canada.. Personally would contact a financial advisor or lawyer for some questions. They gave no reason for your account being terminated or not "doing business" with you. Wow just noticed the spelling..."Writting".

I was looking at all the threads that are saying that the Antminer S1 is the best BTC miner to get currently because of its quick ROI. Is this true? Please post here if you own an Antminer S1 and have had it break even. Thanks!
I did some simulations and found that with the miner at 1BTC(roughly)+VAT and PSU it would break even after 5 months with 25-30% difficulty increase, that's a huge huge timeframe.

I wanted to buy the book "The C++ Programming Language 4th Edition" by Bjarne Stroustrup(the creator of the language) so I can understand it, but the book was mighty expensive translated in my own language(going over $100). But supposedly it's a must-have book.

The Cat vs Dog debate is silly. It's like comparing tomatoes and apples. If you try to make a pizza with applesauce, you're going to have a bad time.
I thought it was tomatoes vs cucumbers.

I watched the video for some 20 minutes when my browser froze. Had to restart the video but got angry that I couldn't fast-forward or something so I ended up just googling what the hell he is talking about. Apparently it's collectible gold coins.

That address doesn't and can't exist - they just skipped the EC point validation. It should have said something like 'invalid key' instead.
Bitcoin protocol does not validate points, in the uncompressed public keys, so there is not reason for blockchain.info to do so. Though, that might be a good tip for another rule to purge more unspendable outputs from a client's UTXO database. But, at the other hand, probably there will not be so many of them to even bother writing the code - not too mention a time needed for the calculations. We don't need to worry about the calculations, the computing power will suffice. 5-30 minutes more? So?

Hi,
everyday we hear of new companies adopting bitcoin.
But in my opinion they are not really adopting bitcoin but accepting payment through bitcoin which inmediately is exchanged into fiat money.
There should be a symbol for real adopters of bitcoin to show so we know they are not using bitpay (or similar) and are keeping the bitcoins and making business with them.
What I mean is that bitcoin should really be adopted and not pretend they are adopting it when it is not really the case.
What do you think?
Looks like we're on the same page. I also agree we need companies that take Bitcoin without a payment processor.

HrN, send me the code for me to check. My PHP skills are a bit rusty, but might at least help clarify some things.
Also, race attacks are TRIVIAL, there was a problem with mpos and a lot of pools had their bitcoins stolen this way.

Hi if that picture is true then can someone please she'd some light for example on why a stupid thing such as a remotely managed electric car battery charger is running SHA-1024? Thanks, btw they used to run SHA-256 before...
There is no SHA-1024. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SHA-2Wikipedia is full of mistakes. I am sure there is SHA-1024 product coming out, the guy is making the hardware and applying for license... Also, the strange thing is that Bitcoin was said to have started in 2009, but that page says SHA-2 was 2011ish... All besides the point, point being why would anyone use SHA-512 then if SHA-256 is impossible to break in this time and space? You aren't reading "SHA-2 is a set of cryptographic hash functions (SHA-224, SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512, SHA-512/224, SHA-512/256) designed by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) and published in 2001"

Well the 1TH/s miners are just being shipped, so don't worry we will be back to 20-30%.

I feel that Bitmain is skimping on the PSU. Assuming that they're using Enermax ERV1000EWT-G 80 Plus Gold which is approximately 90% efficient at around full load (996W or 83A total on the 12V rail), the S2 would be drawing around 900WDC (1000WAC at the wall*90%) from this PSU. That's a 90% (900W/996W) continuous load 24/7. That's too close for comfort. A 1200W PSU (75% load) would be more appropriate. Personally, I prefer a 1500W PSU (60% load) for the S2; much closer to peak efficiency which is at 50% load. Bitmain should offer an option to sell the S2 without a power supply at an appropriately reduced price so we could supply our own PSU just like with the S1s or get rid of the relatively puny 1000-Watter and use at least a 1200W premium PSU. The cost difference for them shouldn't be that much especially when purchased in bulk. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817194101I agree on the bit about the PSU. Although I do not own the S2 nor do I plan to(friggin' expensive but understandable) the PSU is not enough. If the miner uses over 1kW then a 1000w PSU is simply not enough.

I am more curious of how nodes will discover peers without centralized DNS seeds.

Yes, someone did say that. But I am a male, so better not get any strange ideas Something else I forgot to add was, my cat puked about three times in the span of 2 days. Twice on the bed and another today when I had gotten home.
