1101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: February 22, 2016, 05:09:21 PM
AUS vs NZ, Well played by burns & smith Aus 1st innings 505, NZ already 4 wickets down for 121 runs still they are trail by 14 runs only 6 wickets remaining i think Aus is going to win this match.

One more great legend Batsman BB McCullum he played his last innings today and scored 25 runs. All the best for his future.

Yup, there definitely will be a result. Two full days to go in this match.
With their strong batting performance in the first innings, Australia are favourites.
1102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: February 20, 2016, 04:55:35 AM
NZ v AUS (2nd test) -> NZ 're looking in a very strong postion today. They've score 308+ runs (1st innings) & I'd guess (with NZ's stronger bowling attack) this time AUS 'll loose this match.

I missed McCullum's innings.  Embarrassed
There must have been quite a few people betting on McCullum's score, given that it is his final outing. But nobody would have expected him to outdo Viv Richards!!
1103  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the number of available bitcoins decreasing? on: February 20, 2016, 04:48:58 AM
I don't think the number of bitcoins lost per year will keep increasing. This is a function of bitcoin's price. As bitcoins become more valuable, people will take more care of their private keys and bitcoins in general.
1104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still keep a fiat retirement account? on: February 19, 2016, 12:57:47 AM
Of course, I keep a fiat retirement account.
There is a chance (low probability IMO, but can't be ignored) that Bitcoin will go to zero.
You wouldn't want to be on the streets if that happens.
1105  Economy / Economics / Re: Negative Interest Rates on: February 19, 2016, 12:55:21 AM
It is a short-term measure. I don't think any country can have negative interest rates over a long term.
Beyond a point, the economy stops responding to monetary policy.
1106  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it a good long term investment to buy 1 BTC today? on: February 17, 2016, 05:05:00 PM
It is good long term investment if you buy more than 10 bitcoins and wait for a year when the price reach 1000 above you can make lots of profit.
According to article outside that the value o the bitcoin in the future will be 10k usd.. so it is good to buy more bitcoins and hold it in long term

If it is a good long term investment to buy BTC, then it holds good for 1 BTC as well as 10 BTC.
Different people have different buying capabilities.
1107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: February 17, 2016, 05:03:23 PM
Is anybody betting on women's cricket?  Grin
Those games are pretty competitive too.
1108  Economy / Economics / Re: Why doesn't everyone match the US debt level? on: February 15, 2016, 01:06:10 AM
China manages to keep its large work force employed by keeping the value of its currency low.
Given that it is a developing country, they view this as more important than thinking about the value of the US bonds they hold.
1109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Budapest gets bitcoin taxis on: February 15, 2016, 01:03:15 AM
Well, trust the government authorities to muddy the waters.
What follows the announcement that these taxis are accepting bitcoins?

This!
Following the start-up’s statement, the National Bank of Hungary issued an announcement yesterday, warning about the possible risks of using bitcoin

1110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is gambling so addicting? on: February 15, 2016, 12:59:35 AM
It's like good movie or book, you just like to do it, it is fun when you win, so you keep doing that again and again

You don't watch the same movie again and again.
Plus, you can't lose your fortune while watching movies.
It is a wee bit different.  Smiley
1111  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price settling at $420. on: February 15, 2016, 12:56:35 AM
Ok, This is a 2-month old thread.
After the retreat from the December highs, I would be happy if the price stayed above $400 now.
I wouldn't be too greedy.
1112  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: February 14, 2016, 12:39:23 PM
Invesst, it's not really risky, of course you can loose your bitcoins/money, but it's better than saving them

It is difficult to invest into bitcoin companies. Most of the Bitcoin companies listed in the non official exchanges went bankrupt.

It is a miracle that those unregulated exchanges are still around.
Very soon, bitcoin companies will make it to major exchanges around the world.
1113  Economy / Speculation / Re: >400$=sell time on: February 14, 2016, 05:31:08 AM
There definitely will be some resistance at $400. People are going to book profits.
That doesn't mean that $400 = sell time. I am going to hold for higher profits.  Smiley
1114  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin worth to you or not... on: February 14, 2016, 05:28:43 AM
Of course, it is worth something to me.
I can buy real goods and services with it.
I can go to an exchange and sell it for fiat, with which I can purchase many more things.
1115  Economy / Economics / Re: US Debt Has Exploded on: February 10, 2016, 04:24:25 PM
THe world economy depends to much on that from the VS. The dept is really high but so far that was never a problem to just press more money.
But do you think it should continue this way ?
The US has been printing *a lot* of money the last few years. They are trying to export little by little their debt to the world.
A lot of people are noticing this more and more, if they think it's not profitable anymore (or that holding US dollars is too expensive [because if loses value every year]) the US dollar could crash really fast.

Bah, just got to print a USD2 with this simple calculation that USD2 = 10000000 USD.
Then you print a bit of money and it all goes smooth xD

Dont rename it, because then people realize that its devalued.

Devalue it, and cut the zeroes, but dont rename the currency, that way you can fool the people continuously.

You create confusion and then people decide not to hold your worthless paper.
They would rather hold gold.
1116  Economy / Economics / Re: US Debt Has Exploded on: February 05, 2016, 01:52:40 AM
They stop stop pressing money already! What is the end of the line for this crazy debt spiral?

There is no end. There is only hope that the music never stops and nobody is left holding a big pile of debt.  Smiley
1117  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the world economy dependent on the American economy? on: February 03, 2016, 01:05:52 AM
Is the world economy dependent on the American economy?

yes it is definitely dependent on american economy.. if it corrupts, all the world economy will corrupt too so god save the usa Smiley

I don't think that. The US economy is big and has influence.

But not by a long shot can they corrupt the world's economy. Not 1 country can do that.
However it seems that China is replacing the us as the first economy in the world and maybe in future world economy is not dependent on the American Economy.

China has the most population in the world. When the productivity is released, it will be the biggest economy in the world.

Population is not necessarily related to economy's size.
Case in point being Japan.
You need to develop the skills of your work force.
1118  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you actively spend your bitcoins? on: January 26, 2016, 03:49:41 AM
There are many services/merchants/shops accepting bitcoin right now, and the number is growing. The problem is that usually payment with bitcoin is not widely announced and are often hidden under debit/credit, paypal and bank transfer method of payment.

If you are a bitcoin enthusiast, you will learn to dig them out.  Smiley
1119  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2016 crash has begun! on: January 13, 2016, 12:35:25 AM
Begun yes

We are down a bit, yes.
But 2016 is far from over. These falls can be quickly reversed.
1120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 07, 2016, 12:37:24 AM
England vs south africa match draw, superb batting from south africa batsman hasim amla and bavuma,

You forget the scare that England had in the second innings.
Just when we thought it was going to be a dull draw, wickets start falling.  Smiley
