Small blockists = small dicks

That's not true, I've consistently pushed for larger blocks.
1102  Economy / Speculation / Re: Automated posting on: February 24, 2016, 09:19:46 PM
LOL, just withdrew some BTC from an exchange, they are paying 0.00015936 XBT = $0.0924195 CAD per tx. just got 2 confirmations in like 2 minus.
Blocks are only full if your are not paying almost $0.10 per transaction.

We don't need to guesstimate:

From cointape.com, based on what is happening:

1-10   satoshi per byte = from 7 blocks to infinity.
11-20 satoshi per byte = from 2 blocks to 28
21-30 satoshi per byte = from 0 to 5 blocks
31-40 satoshi per byte = from 0 to 2 blocks
41-50 satoshi per byte = from 0 to 1 blocks

10 satoshi per byte = 0.011$ per 258byte tx
20 satoshi per byte = 0.022$ per 258byte tx
30 satoshi per byte = 0.033$ per 258byte tx
40 satoshi per byte = 0.044$ per 258byte tx
50 satoshi per byte = 0.055$ per 258byte tx

it's OK tho, when LN comes out fee will go right back to 1cent, because it will relieve a lot of pressure from the blockchain

thats the plan right?

LOL

their plan is so full of contradictions

Yep, and we go from being a community of equals to facilitating a settlement layer for large economic entities to run LN and sidechains on. If you're worried about node centralization, lean back for a while and try to figure out who the fuck will want to run a regular node for free for that.

homestead RC1 is out

is that mean mining will stop completely soon ?

The interview with Zamfir I linked to earlier suggested PoS roughly a year from now.
1104  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitminter bitcoin mining pool - Pays TxFees, Merged Mining, Fair PPLNS rewards on: February 23, 2016, 10:36:28 PM
Thank you for the reply.
In the mean time I Googled it and found the answer.
It adjusts after every 2016 blocks are mined.

So the next adjustment in difficulty should be in approximately 2 weeks.

Just a small correction.

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

Estimated Next Difficulty:   176,758,147,687 (+8.11%)
Adjust time:                      After 1902 Blocks, About 13.8 days

Looks more like a small drop in difficulty.

I wouldn't mind some sanity in the coming months.

BTC price went down hard but the ETH/BTC seems be going sideways. I thought ETH will have a major increase around such periods when btc is down.

It just went through the bbands on eth/btc. It doesn't look good.

Bid side on polo is looking very strong.

If this frecker starts moving it can move a lot.

Hold on to your hats boys and girls!

The price has risen to recent high now. Will it go pass the all time high again in the near future?

I have no idea. I'm a nerd. But as a nerd I like to speak convincingly on stuff I don't really understand, so I'll say Yes!

I'm expecting some kind of move in the 10-20% range within the next few hours. It looks like it will be up, but I'll be watching that frecker until the veins in my eyes pop.

Edit: ignore me. I'm an idiot.

Don't worry, there's another Bitcoin Round Table in the works Cheesy
This weekend, 70 leaders in the Bitcoin and blockchain industry are meeting for a retreat.
Brought to you by The Bitcoin Foundation & Bruce "Fenton" Fenton Cool

Thx, I added a suggestion.

that's remarkable sound! never would have expected him to be able to such a insight/compromise.

now we only need to convince the other nutters left or get going without them. friedenbach would be to name here. i am surprised we havent heard anything from todd etc about their colleague being against the consensus.

And here's another nugget:

Is Gavin already searching for a new name?

[–]luke-jr Luke Dashjr - Bitcoin Expert 0 points 2 days ago

Doesn't matter, the final version does not use any specific names (besides Core).
This was mainly to avoid negativity and give Classic a possibility of transforming into a part of this plan and a "legitimate" node software.

[–]keo604 -1 points 2 days ago

Legitimate, as approved by the centralists?

[–]luke-jrLuke Dashjr - Bitcoin Expert 2 points 2 days ago

As in not breaking from the community consensus. But yes, it is defined in the agreement by compatibility with Core. However, if Core were to depart from what has consensus, I think this would change the "foreseeable future" aspect, thus releasing the obligation entirely (but I don't expect this to happen).

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/46rk3d/final_version_bitcoin_roundtable_consensus/d07ggt2

I'm not sure exactly what he means by this, but it might look like they're trying to work with/leave a door open for Gavin and maybe Jeff. But Gavin and Jeff will probably need to see some real progress in order to lower their arms. If they can get the activation date set a bit earlier then that might be as good as it gets. The clock is ticking and I doubt they can convince miners to adopt Classic before/unless some promises are broken by Core. By July even Classic would struggle with an activation date earlier than Jan-Feb 2017.
1113  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 23, 2016, 01:20:59 PM

It turns out it's not just Bitcoiners who's struggling with core:

"[–]Roman Catholic luke-jr 1 point 1 day ago

Catholicism is not a branch, it is the Faith, and the Roman Catholic Church is the specific institution defined by God. The only reconciliation is therefore those outside the Church abandoning their errors and joining the Church. Any other kind of "reunion" is inherently evil and sinful to pursue."

Good choice guyz!

Jokes aside, I was actually kind of optimistic when I saw some of his comments on the roundtable thread on reddit. Especially this:

"[–]chriswheeler 8 points 2 days ago

So why have you just signed a statement agreeing to implement a hard fork?

Better to increase your stack of btc when the market falls rather than just getting more fiat when it is going up.

The bullrun has stalled and dumped, expect more dumps until we touch ground and refilled the rockets.

Or you can just buy now, cry later.

You sure did your part. GG
1115  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 23, 2016, 11:46:31 AM
Ouch!
That was a heavy dump!
Finex and stamp had been down to 416! Shocked

could you imagine some internet token being actually worth more than 400$?

either the dollar has deeply depreciate, or people have just gone mad.

anyway, much more profit to be made on the downside of a market.

200$ would be easier to get than 800$ at this point.

and tibane knows it. Grin

So simple. No hidden agenda. Some people just want to see the world burn.

Bitcoiners are one of the most diverse bag of nutters you've ever seen. Even if there are "impostors" trying to kill Bitcoin here, how would we notice? How could they possibly make a difference?

And if we're just trying to rid the community of assholes it will be a barren and lonely place.

^^What do they call Whoppers in that crazy language of yours? Anything like German, with those gigantic sausage words? (apparently I'm not the only one to find them obscene, because Google just informed me:
"The German language has lost its longest word thanks to a change in the law to conform with EU regulations. Rindfleischetikettierungsueberwachungsaufgabenuebertragungsgesetz - meaning "law delegating beef label monitoring" - was introduced in 1999 in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania."

Ha ha, EU outlawed German Cheesy

Ok. I'll take the hint.

What hint? It's pure logic.
