1101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I sell house to buy bitcoin if it drops below $ 5000? on: April 01, 2018, 11:31:57 PM
I joined this market a few months, I also lost a little money. Now I want to have a bigger plan by selling my house to 100% participation in this market. What do you think?
You think I will have another house or I will become homeless  Grin Cheesy Grin
I highly doubt that bitcoin will go below $5000 again. I think selling your house to participate in this risky investment is not very smart. I suggest you put your money where growth is 80% possible. Although bitcoin can give you back a lot the risk is just too high. You also dont go all in in an investment. Just invest something that you are not afraid to loose. You might be fine this day and go crazy the next day. You’ll never know. Just my two cents.  Smiley
1102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin the dollar equivalent? on: April 01, 2018, 06:40:16 PM
If we compare the crypto assets market to the stocks markets in general, can Bitcoin be considerated as the equivalent of the dollar?
In the stock exchage we buy shares with dollars.
In the cryptocurrencies exchanges we buy tokens or coins with bitcoins(and other cryptocurrencies, Litecoins, etc).
Somewhat yes, Bitcoin being the king of all coins just like dollar being the highest or most used among all currencies. In terms of importance they are not equal though (yet) Because bitcoin doesn’t affect an economy. If ever government get involved with bitcoins then it can be considered equal to a dollar. Simply because they will be toe to toe with its value.
1103  Economy / Economics / Re: Is trading just educated guessing? on: April 01, 2018, 08:28:36 AM
Can you really be sure you will profit unless you have insider info?
I guess you can consider it that way since you only increase your chance in earning and decreasing the likeliness of loosing profit. Since you can never really be sure because you can’t say that every thing you had chosen is 100% correct.  Even with all the information nothing is perfectly sure.
1104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do We Need Social Media Promotion on: April 01, 2018, 06:47:21 AM
bitcoin needs any kind of promotion that it can get, for sure. for example the recent CNN program on bitcoin, and stuff like that will cause more and more public awareness and acceptance
Heck yes! The power of social media in this generation is immense. We need more people to accept bitcoin. More users makes more opportunities for us. Although growth can sometimes be negative due to incompetetnt people who tricks other people. Social media will be a great tool for the growth of bitcoin.
1105  Economy / Economics / Re: Do we need regulations? on: April 01, 2018, 02:59:17 AM
How do you guys think? Do we need regulations in the crypto world? Should only ICO be regulated or legit coins (not "security tokens") too? Can we implement regulations mechanisms in code so that corrupted governmental institutions couldn't manipulate the industry? Can we still have free market with governments' regulations across the world?

Please, share your thoughts. I'm a bit confused about what's happening right now.
Of course we need regulations to maintain balance in everything. Regulations should be wll thought to avoid manipulations, and people who implements these regulations should be someone with superior knowledge. The government can be involved with these but only if they compromise with btc users only then they can be involved with these type of market.
1106  Economy / Economics / Re: Cashless society on: April 01, 2018, 01:00:42 AM
Have you ever wondered how would the world's economy be like in the future as a cashless society?

Perhaps, with the increased traction of blockchain acceptance nowadays, could lead to the creation of digital fiat currencies powered by blockchains that are managed by governments themselves. With this in mind, there would be no need for physical cash, as digital fiat currencies would provide many advantages such as quick settlement, global payments, full transparency, implants use on citizens to make payments, and more.

If this becomes a reality, which I'm sure that it will, it would radically transform our lives for the better and reduce criminal activity as a result of the full transparency and auditability that a digital fiat currency would have thanks to the power of the blockchain technology.

Also, it makes me wonder if cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin would exist by that time, or will they co-exist with digital fiat currencies.

Nevertheless, I would like to know your opinion about this.  Wink
There are a lot of benefit from this. Less material to create paper money means more money for our government to allocate to different departments. Although this won't decrease the level of criminal activity. Transactions will be easier to track. Hackable accounts and probably endless taxation. Physical money can sometimes avoid unnecessary taxation from the government (not tax evading, just like taking cash jobs to avoid taxes). I like the transparency it would bring though, and it would make every transaction really easier. I think bitcoin will never take over, I think it would co-exist with virtual money.
1107  Economy / Economics / Re: how can bitcoin help the community? on: March 31, 2018, 09:17:24 PM
Bitcoin is promising currency, but somehow because of it's volatile value. How can bitcoin help the community? especially the 3rd world country.
Bitcoin for another opportunity for jobless people. It can be another source of income for them although it is not as dependable as a stable income due to its volatility it can still be an option. Second it can be an alternative way to pay. If communities accept bitcoin as a payment that would help us to save more of our primary income.
1108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is NOT DEAD on: March 31, 2018, 05:54:45 PM
BTCBTCBTC
Bitcoin is not dead lol. The price is getting low but bitcoin will not die quickly we can recover it in somehow. Many people thought bitcoin is secretly dying I just wanted to say that its wrong Bitcoin will back soon to higher value.

BTCBTCBTC
Bitcoin is not dead and will be alive for a long time. Even us users wont even be able to witness its death due to inflation past 2140 as predicted by some. Bitcoins volatility is just its nature. I think people who tries to make this fake news are uneducated about bitcoin and are just panicking due to fear of losing money or just simply want to give bitcoin a dying image. This is the rising year of bitcoin. How can it die?  Grin
1109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: For how long will bitcoin exist on: March 30, 2018, 09:12:13 PM
How long will it exist? Likely until the end of the human race, or until the alien invasion. How long will it thrive? That remains to be seen.
Bitcoin has an end. I see like a gold mine. When all the gold has been mined there will be none left to get. Don't worry about it too much because it will be a hundred years from now. When all that happens thats when the price of bitcoin will go down due to inflation and thats when people will stop using bitcoin.
1110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and the power of media on: March 30, 2018, 08:02:56 AM
If I'm going to be honest, I think that the newfound cryptocurrency legalization in Asian countries like Japan and South Korea will lead to a lot more "user-friendly" websites, guides, ebooks, and apps that will help the average person get more familiarized with how to use Bitcoin, not how it works. HUGE difference.

I'm fairly tech-savvy, as I've been around technology since the late 90's, and Bitcoin took a while for me to understand. The media has thus far focused on news related to the effects of Bitcoin, and not really about the technology or security advantages of it. I believe that's simply because they don't understand how Bitcoin works.

If we're going to have any long-term staying power, the community is going to need to learn how to use Bitcoin, not how it works. Let's take banks, for example. Not many people know about how banks operate, what their internal procedures are, what happens to your money once it hits their vaults and private ledgers, etc. All we know is that we deposit $100 into our accounts, and we could use that $100 at a later time as we see fit. Do we understand how banks work? Nope. Don't need to. We just know that we can use our money (for the most part) when and where we want.

Electricity is the same way. Do we understand the circuitry and engineering behind how our light switch is connected via wires to a voltage regulator that has a light bulb attached to that? Nope, because we don't need to. All we know is that when we flip the light switch, the bulb turns on.

Bitcoin should be the same way, and until the media power houses start focusing on the uses of Bitcoin and what it can be used for, rather than trying to teach us about the technology behind it, Bitcoin won't become a commodity like we want it to become. From most of my experiences with Bitcoin in the media, there has always been a negative connotation to the stories they produce.

Simplify Bitcoin. More websites need to publish how to use Bitcoin, rather than how it works. My thoughts.
This is eloquently worded, but in my opinion, educating people is still important. I know that you just want to simplify everything and avoid all the complicated information. Your logic is outstanding and I respect that, but I think that it is not applicable when it comes to bitcoin. Bitcoin is far complex than money is to bank or electricity is to light bulb. Knowing how it works is important to avoid ignorant uneducated people. Having a strong knowledge foundation is the key to everything for me. Just my opinion though  Grin
1111  Economy / Economics / Re: Will future paper money disappear? on: March 30, 2018, 05:11:47 AM
With the development of cryptocurrency, more and more places accept bitcoin. In the future, will paper money disappear, and the money that people earn will be given to you in encrypted form, and the purchase will be paid in encrypted form?
Please give your opinion.
In my opinion bitcoin will never replace paper currency. Paper currency has a never changing value and thats what makes it dependable. Bitcoin can be an alternate way to pay from different stores, but it is far from replacing a countries money. Paper money can only be removed if electronic currency will be possible.
1112  Economy / Economics / Re: government and crypto collide on: March 30, 2018, 02:25:24 AM
What is the possibility effect of this in both side
Are this  a good thing to happened
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-02-12/why-governments-might-join-the-cryptocurrency-craze-quicktake
I hate this. Although this might have some benefit for cryptoworld, but for us users/owners of coins this might be a problem. Government can and will take advantage of this by taxing and basically manipulating its prices by centralizing or monopolizing. I love the crypto world for its limitless increase in value. Also because it is not governed by one man. The crypto world is an open world of growing opportunity, and to see the government join this hype train is terrifying.
1113  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin also lead to corruption ? on: March 29, 2018, 08:45:54 PM
We all know that there is corruption everywhere, like in government or any other organization. Because of money, corruption can always happen with greedy people who always wants more money to them. Since bitcoin can be considered as money, can it also lead to corruption?
Bitcoin wouldn’t lead to corruption, people will. The greed for money is just an unstoppable human nature. Bitcoin is probably the most powerful money as for now because its value is constantly changing. People’s lust for this power is just insane. But then again, bitcoin doesn’t have a centralized “government”, and that’s a good thing. It lessens the likeliness of monopoly and corruption.
1114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Philippines is starting to accept bitcoin. on: March 29, 2018, 09:44:15 AM
Our country just recently held a seminar introducing bitcoin in our country. The said seminar were facilitated
by bitcoin experts and government officials in pursuit of using bitcoin as another form of payment and regulation of it as well.

http://www.wheninmanila.com/5-things-i-learned-about-bitcoin-and-cryptocurrency/
This is a great news, but there was also a downside to it. Some greedy people took advantage of people who lacked knowledge about bitcoin. There was a syndicate/scammers preying on investors money. Investors bites this bait because they know bitcoins price is uprising and thats like easy money for them. Though it was “somewhat” the investors fault for not researching enough information, it is just disgusting to see bitcoins reputation get blemished by these types of people.
1115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if bitcoin wasn't created? on: March 29, 2018, 07:35:28 AM
What if bitcoin wasn't created?
I was just wondering what would happen to the crypto world or would still cryptocurrency be this popular this day if bitcoin wasn't created?

There are a lot of changes happened because of bitcoin and it also change the way on how we look on cryptocurrencies. Because of this some government and bank owners were alarm because of the rising popularity of bitcoin and the other cryptocurrencies. Cryptocurrencies also help many people giving them works online and gets profit from invesments.

But what if Bitcoin wasn't created, where would you be right now?
What would happen to crpyto world?
Will the cryptocurrencies be as known as it is right now?
If bitcoin wasn’t invented, we wouldn’t be here. Just like what the others said it wouldn’t make much of a difference too. Everything will be normal. The economy doesn’t depend on bitcoin. Only some people does. Yes bitcoin is big in 2018, but it isn't that BIG as we say it is.
1116  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin as your main income? on: March 28, 2018, 03:36:38 PM
Bitcoin is a currency. Bitcoin is a solution to many problems. Bitcoin is bringing questions and new problems to this world.
Some people find this as a ride to boost your income, not specifically Bitcoin but also the whole crypto market.
I think it's a great thing! But what are you actually looking for? Bitcoin itself (the currency) might not be your solution.
If you want to "conquer" the world, you can't do it with Bitcoin. Like you can't conquer the world with the dollar itself.
You need to focus the technology. The blockchain along with it, bringing a new economy generation with freedom and decentralization.
It's something that should be written a new bible about in my opinion. Before you learn Bitcoin, learn economy. Once you master this skill, own Bitcoin as one of your cards.

I would like to hear some of your opinions and hear some smart words because I believe people think investing Bitcoin will make their life done financially but I honestly think it's not true.
Could be, but only if it stabilizes which has a very small to no chance. Bitcoin as an income is a crazy thought, incosistent value will scare people who makes it as a primary source of income. The due’s like rents, electricity, water would be like a timebomb ticking. Its a great though though. Cashless and increasing value of your income but its volatility is just terrifying.
1117  Economy / Economics / Re: You should never trust banks on: March 28, 2018, 04:55:31 AM
My bank closed my account last year for no reason, and all money in my account was gone. I argued with the bank, even contacted the local government, no use. My bank just stated that "Pursuant to the CMA Disclosure and Agreement, 'THE BANK, at its discretion, may elect not to accept an account, terminate the account agreement and the account agreements of any related parties'. Both parties to the agreements have the right to end the relationship at any time and neither is obliged to provide a basis for such a decision to terminate". No single word explaing the termination was given to me. I contacted all banking lawyers online, and they were all representing the bank, not the customers. The money I lost can buy a new Mercedes. However, banks around the world now are too powerful. They are too big to fail. When you open an account in the United States, and probably also many other countries, you voluntarily give up the rights to sue the bank under their arbitrage clause. Even worse, they define the financial laws and enforce them. They can close your account, freeze and steal your property and evict you from your house. The more money you deposit into your bank account, the more you are helping the evil. I'm glad to see Bitcoin is changing all of these. Let banks die!
Banks have an established system and a strong foundation. This thread lacks information. I see that your argument here is to go btc and kill banks. Banks are still trustworthy. Although some of them have a strict policy, and most of the time tries to get as much money from their customers/users. They still had a good reputation. Why? Because if you simply follow their policies they will also provide the service you needed.
1118  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin, how far it can go! on: March 28, 2018, 03:34:48 AM
In 2018, we are having a lot of issues relating to cryptocurrencies and most of these issues are regulations and governments trying to centralized Bitcoin by establishing control over it.
I am thinking if Bitcoin can actually fight on as we can see from the pricing of recent that Bitcoin has been dropping and it is finding it difficult to recover. How far can Bitcoin go? Has governments using the tools' of regulation to control Bitcoin pricing working for them? Your opinion will be appreciated and if you make a good view about what is happening you will get merit from me. Thanks.
Bitcoin seems to be at its peak ever since it was created. Bitcoin grew because the hype keep on growing. Its price depends on the people who are continuously buying and selling. Though it lived up to its hype, all hype has an end due to its weak foundation. There’s a limit, problems comes up and greedy people tries to monopolize everything. Government will always try to take control of something that might overpower them. Bitcoin will eventually hit its limit, but probably for a long time from now.

1120  Economy / Economics / Re: Facebook bans ads for cryptocurrencies on: March 13, 2018, 03:09:24 AM
WASHINGTON- Facebook says it is banning all ads related to cryptocurrencies in an effort to fight scams.

The social media giant said it is barring ads for "financial products and services that are frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices, such as binary options, initial coin offerings, and cryptocurrency."

Initial coin offerings or ICOs are a way for companies to raise funds by selling investors cryptographic assets.

Fraud is common in the world of red-hot digital currencies such as bitcoin.

This week, for instance, the US Securities and Exchange Commission shut down an initial coin offering by a Texas company called AriseBank.

AriseBank was accused of relying on celebrity endorsers such as boxer Evander Holyfield and social media to cheat investors out of $600 million of its goal of $1 billion for a currency it called "AriseCoin."

In a blog post announcing the news, Facebook product management director Rob Leathern hinted that Facebook may modify the new policy at some point to allow bona fide crypto-related businesses to advertise again.

"We want people to continue to discover and learn about new products and services through Facebook ads without fear of scams or deception," Leathern wrote.

"That said, there are many companies who are advertising binary options, ICOs and cryptocurrencies that are not currently operating in good faith."

"This policy is intentionally broad while we work to better detect deceptive and misleading advertising practices, and enforcement will begin to ramp up across our platforms including Facebook, Audience Network and Instagram. We will revisit this policy and how we enforce it as our signals improve," he added.

Hmmm. That's not a good idea because we all know tgat bitcoin ads is the one who helps people to know more about bitcoin yet it will be banned? Bitcoin ads helps a lot  of people speciay to know more about bitcoin. I think it is a good idea to put ads about bitcoin in facebook because many people would able to learn about bitcoin in that.
