11004  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 2013 Casascius VOID coin MS-65 - Extremely Rare! on: August 12, 2016, 11:17:57 AM
I've sold two in the ~6-7BTC range so I think that would be a good place to start negotiations.
Damn, that's a huge premium. What were they graded at?

Still, supply and demand rules this forum and I doubt anyone else who owns one on this forum will be willing to sell theirs anytime soon so Blazed can be pretty subjective when it comes to what he considers an "amazing offer."
As much as I'd like to own one of these rare coins, I'd definitely avoid paying a huge premium on them.

Ok so a MS-65 for 5 BTC sounds reasonable.
IMO still a bit too high, but who knows. There may be people willing to go even higher than that (we've seen some auctions go unexpectedly high recently - e.g. serp).

Update:
Damn, that's a huge premium. What were they graded at?

MS-66 as stated in Eodguy149 sale thread
They said "two" coins, that's why I asked what they were graded at. Both were at MS-66?

Interesting coin. May I know when it was graded? The grade seems fairly low and I can't properly judge it myself based on the images.

Not really sure what to ask for this price wise as they are incredibly rare!
Correct. However, I'm sure that you know that something that is rare does not necessarily mean it's expensive or has a high premium. I'm very curious as to what the 'market' will price this at.

Good luck, I'd pay face value 0.5 BTC  Grin
Face value + 0.01 BTC from me.  Cheesy

Why selling it if in a few years it could be worth loads?
If you think like that, then we shouldn't sell anything ever because it may be worth a lot more in the future (same applies to Bitcoin itself).
11008  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] Our range of Badges all in one place and one collection. on: August 12, 2016, 12:01:54 AM
For anyone interested (and who can't decipher it from the picture), the numbers are (left to right):
Row 1: 57, 46.
Row 2: 46.
Row 3: 14, 34.
Row 4: 82, 15, 77.
Row 5: 36, 101, 44.

Okay... slowly you say?
There's no need to push out a lot of the buyers at the start each time. Cheesy

11010  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitGo, Coinbase Vaut or Paper Wallet for secure long term storage on: August 11, 2016, 08:25:14 PM
I'm not sure how:
But it has downsides like hard to spend if needed, could be lost, could get destroyed (sure keep several copies).
"hard to spend" is a concern for long term storage? It's not like you're going to be constantly accessing these coins. In any case, it primarily depends on the amount that you're storing and the frequency of access:

Get a Trezor and no worries.
There are several hardware wallets that wouldn't be a bad choice. In any case, they're usually better than 3rd party wallets.

11014  Other / Meta / Re: Is it allowed to register just to post in 1 giveaway thread over and over? on: August 11, 2016, 11:23:51 AM
That 777 thread is mostly just used by account farmers not to mention I don't believe it even pays out any more and hasn't for months, but even if it does it's only occasionally and people do not get paid for every post that they have made but they don't care because they still get paid from their campaigns or can rank up their accounts easily. I've contacted Lightlord several times about it but got no response.
That's one of the problems that are indirectly caused by this. Essentially, one could take up e.g. 10 accounts and post only in these giveaways daily until they farm them all up. Technically, they could argue that what they're doing is "legit" even though the idea behind it is account farming and spamming in signature campaigns in the future. I guess it may be time to introduce some sort of pruning (especially for daily threads). E.g. delete all entries older than 7 days (this should prevent post padding without preventing certain ranks from entering). Are there any potential cons to this idea?
11015  Other / Meta / Re: Is it allowed to register just to post in 1 giveaway thread over and over? on: August 11, 2016, 09:46:15 AM
Honestly, Lauda, i believe that having that "staff" mark on your profile has gotten to your head a bit too much.  To the point of you telling people where they should post..
You asked me for my opinion. You disagree with it and now my "staff mark" got to my head? I have even asked another moderator about this specific user before responding here and they agree with me. As said, I have notified a global moderator about it as they handle such cases.

Update: I have provided the reasoning behind the statement. Re-read my posts.
11016  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: question on: August 11, 2016, 09:15:11 AM
Depends on the wallet that you're using and the reached number of addresses:

In case you don't know, bitcoin core generates a pre-determined number of addresses when you first created this wallet and stores it in the keypool. Bitcoin core will take address from here every time you need a new address to use until it used all of it. After you used up all addresses in your keypool, a new set of addresses will be generated for you. The max number of addresses in keypool is 100 by default.
IIRC - Try starting with the '-rescan' flag (Bitcoin Core). This may display it. For me, an addresses popped up during a test when I had used the '-reindex' flag.

the address has to be in your wallet, cause it will give you access receiving the coin...!!!
This post is useless.

I believe that you need the wallet address in your wallet.dat in order to have access to your Bitcoins.
You obviously don't know how Bitcoin Core generates private keys.

Do u mind explaining your logic on the case ?
Well, IMHO it is spam, in addition to the input of two moderators the other day. I do recall some discussions revolving this in the past as well, but let's see.

- It isn't spam
I think you may want to refine your definition of spam. We are talking about 54 identical posts here (with minor variations).

Mods for the section are Cyrus and hilariousandco , it would be best to to ask them on the matter, but to me it's laughable.
Correct, that's who I notified.
11018  Other / Meta / Re: Is it allowed to register just to post in 1 giveaway thread over and over? on: August 11, 2016, 06:29:28 AM
The last time that I've checked (I've encountered a similar case the other day), we didn't allow this. I do wonder how many alt accounts someone like this has? It seems time to also add some regulations for this section (e.g. minimum participation rank). Anyhow, I have notified someone regarding the case.
11019  Other / Archival / Re: . on: August 11, 2016, 06:24:17 AM
where are the coins ? :-(
OP2 has been updated. This is not a complete chart and not updated with recent sales.
It is very hard to keep track of all of those indeed. Even the information regarding me isn't correct anymore, although I sometimes have trouble keeping up with my own Genesis situation.

If anyone has other coins to add or knows who/where certain coins are, please let us know!! We want to make some sets start to appear!!
Yes please! I still can't find my #1.
11020  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: [WTS] - Cat Genesis Series 2 Sale on: August 10, 2016, 11:41:42 PM
I've picked up a few lucky numbers, please contact Minerjones and tell them to add the coins to my pile, thanks.
Thanks, the purchase has been confirmed. I have also listed some new arrivals (3-coin sets). There are still items that haven't been listed though, so stay tuned for more updates.
