Not really sure what to ask for this price wise as they are incredibly rare!

From the encyclopedia

"These coins were given out to the press as gifts. They
are different than typical 0.5 BTC Brass coins in that
they have no public or private key, but instead display
a repeating “VOID” in the window. These were shown
in the movie The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin and were
custom made in order not to compromise the private
keys while these coins were being assembled on screen.
While it is uncertain how many of these were created,
it is estimated that roughly 12 were made and given
to the press. It is unknown how many survive today
as these may well have been discarded by unknowing
recipients who were not collectors, especially
considering that these coins contained no bitcoin."

I know of 3 others total and that is it... If I do not get an amazing offer this coin can go back into the vault for years  Cool

Very nice coin and a must have for any Casascius set. I'm pretty sure the other ones are in the hands of serious collectors and will be locked in safes for the foreseeable future. Best of luck with the sale!  Grin

It's a unique coin for sure.
Not sure how to determine the value though, an empty coin which was given away for free...
And not 100 percent sure how many there are. Mike Caldwell should be able to confirm.

Good luck, I'd pay face value 0.5 BTC  Grin

Why selling it if in a few years it could be worth loads?

Interesting coin. May I know when it was graded? The grade seems fairly low and I can't properly judge it myself based on the images.

Correct. However, I'm sure that you know that something that is rare does not necessarily mean it's expensive or has a high premium. I'm very curious as to what the 'market' will price this at.

Good luck, I'd pay face value 0.5 BTC  Grin
Face value + 0.01 BTC from me.  Cheesy

If you think like that, then we shouldn't sell anything ever because it may be worth a lot more in the future (same applies to Bitcoin itself).

An MS-66 was sold for ~7 BTC in April 2016:

I've sold two in the ~6-7BTC range so I think that would be a good place to start negotiations. Still, supply and demand rules this forum and I doubt anyone else who owns one on this forum will be willing to sell theirs anytime soon so Blazed can be pretty subjective when it comes to what he considers an "amazing offer."

Ok so a MS-65 for 5 BTC sounds reasonable.
Maybe put it up for bidding with a reserve price?

Damn, that's a huge premium. What were they graded at?

As much as I'd like to own one of these rare coins, I'd definitely avoid paying a huge premium on them.

IMO still a bit too high, but who knows. There may be people willing to go even higher than that (we've seen some auctions go unexpectedly high recently - e.g. serp).

Update:

MS-66 as stated in Eodguy149 sale thread
They said "two" coins, that's why I asked what they were graded at. Both were at MS-66?

For Casascius coins, rare ones wil fetch a large premium.  5BTC is not that high considering its extreme rarity.

I don't do reserve prices on auctions since they are lame! Not highly motivated to sell this coin, but I was thinking offers of 5BTC+ would be enough to get it from me. The coin not having any coins loaded is irrelevant to me. Who is ever going to peel a rare Casascius coin anyways? The loaded values are kind of a funny thing when you think of it!

Quite a fine coin... Hope I'll be able to snatch one of these up someday. I wonder how many of these are there exactly and how many were graded...

I am willing to bet money that if I cracked the slab it would graded MS-66 or possibly better. The coin is pretty clean by my standards...
