11001  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone care about Bitcoin Gold or is it just Seqwit 2x?? on: October 07, 2017, 11:06:19 AM
There's really no reason to think Bitcoin Gold will follow the same fate as Bitcoin Cash, AT BEST. At least Bitcoin Cash had a lot of powerful miners opening an exchange for BCC. If Bitcoin Gold wants to even build up enough hype to want people to hold, they will have to do a lot better at their promotions of their goal and vision for this new alt. Another thiing to watch out for will be whether or not sites and exchanges will offer the same as they did for Bitcoin Cash. I believe most of them will simply ignore this new fork. If that's going to be the case, it can forget reaching BCC prices.
11002  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ebtc, Eltc, Edash, Eripple, Ebcash....You ready for the E cryptos?? on: October 07, 2017, 09:02:30 AM
I said yesterday on one of the eLTC forums that is the dawn of a new type of crypto currency. And it will be. eBTC started it. There are now 2 eLTC tokens offering airdrops! And now I have just heard about eDash. Expect eNeo, eNEM, eRipple to follow in the next 4 weeks
Die hards fans of the originals of these coins will hate them. Die hard fans of eBTC will hate these others and dismiss them as copycats. I don't think the eCurrencies will ever overtake the originals or take away volume from them. Expect short term hype. Right now eCurrencies are the hot new fad but interest in them will die off. Also expect eBitcoinCash and eBitcoinGold!

All right, this is completely new to me. What exactly are these e-cryptos? The e shouldn't stand for electronic, since that would be pretty redundant for crypto. I've actually signed up for a couple of airdrops this week but so far wasn't particularly interested in all of these now that they are cropping up. I'd say they were just the same group of people pumping out tokens for every single coin in existence. Go ahead and prove me wrong, though. Would love for my two airdrops to amount to something:)
11003  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Suggest Me a Coin, And I'll Tell You What I Think on: October 06, 2017, 03:58:02 PM
Spectre XSPEC.

Best anonymous coin EVER.

Sometimes it's so difficult to tell if people are trolling with their usernames and comments or if they really are just selfish users filling up discussion threads with zero value posts.

Spectre can't be the best ever when it's just copying existing anonymous tech. It's still talking about ring signatures when people are already moving past Zsnark. A totally made up coin, didn't even need premine, just ICO-sed and  5% kept for devs. And it's just growing because of some fancier than usual proof of stake algo.
11004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NEO to $40 within 8th October on: October 06, 2017, 03:19:38 PM
Don't know, I think you are too optimistic. To achieve this, prices need to break the current resistance line, and when NEO breaks it can be talking about 40$

We are out of the current downtrend:

I keep forgetting to look at USD charts, which is why this surprised me. But this climb approaching breakout is only because of Red Pulse, though, don't you think? The chart doesn't look as favourable against BTC, even with BTC's static flatline since the start of October/end of September. Still, whoever took the chance to buy in over the past few days should be able to see profit in a short time. All the same, too soon to say now. Even that breakout shouldn't be taken too seriously for now (because of the Red Pulse pump).
11005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥Unobtanium (UNO) More Valuable than BITCOIN IN FUTURE?? on: October 06, 2017, 08:23:23 AM
Okay, as nobody really said much about this coin and it's value apart from the point that it is a lot like gold and is the main currency on some exchanges, I decided to make a little research. The coin's price is still growing a lot and marketcap is $25 mil. The dev team is small and not very experienced. In their official intro there's basically nothing said apart from it being platinum to btc's gold. There isn't a lot info on the Internet about the coin as well. I don't like such projects which don't show their white papers rightaway.

Bitcoin is a lot like gold, Unobtainium is more like platinum. Rarer and more valuable than gold... and yet with not as much use and less preference. I guess you could say that the dev team's inexperience is probably why I can see this coin has even a fork - clearly there are issues even with such a limited coin. But your research also shows that this was a simple alt. One created in the hopes that scarcity as suggested by its name will prove to be of value in future. I can't really bring myself to own this type of coin either. Not unless it was purely for fun.
11006  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still support Ethereum? on: October 06, 2017, 07:11:49 AM
I'm a content user of Ethereum. To be honest, only used it because was forced to, when wanting to join an ICO that only accepted ETH. Have been tempted several times to buy some for holding but keep missing out and anyway feel much safer with Bitcoin. Mind you, I don't support ETH's early days, and feel suspicious about the way it is still so highly centralized. So I cannot say I still support it when I never have. I would even go as far to say I support those obscure alts more.
11007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: eBTC. What do you think about it? on: October 06, 2017, 06:04:54 AM
The world really needs the spider man or the new ecr20 Bitcoin, I say we need them both they are cheap and faster. hear me now. I have a Waves Bitcoin I call it activity, main reason of creation was silently replacing Bitcoin.
I know that and I'm so angry about my stupidity, I have missed their airdrop , i have missed a big opportunity Sad
If your father would've missed the hole by one inch, you wouldn't be here, so don't be angry and be grateful that he didn't.

Have you guys ever watched porn? when the man finishes, have you looked at the face of the woman? she's ready for more, she wants more. shills are like the pussies in porn, they don't care if they're getting facked in front of the whole world, they just want more. lol

I like the idea of Bitcoin obituaries but I think someone should also start a directory listing all of the Bitcoin pretenders. Everyone wants to wear the crown of crypto. Put on a fancy dress, pin on some fancy labels. Why not let's call it e-BTC, or z-BTC, or dark BTC. Why not !-btc or ultramegazuperBTC?

Shills are worse than pron... they don't realise they're on a script and they don't get paid to act.
11008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: WINGS ★ Where DAO Unicorns Are Born! ★ Token launched! on: October 05, 2017, 08:28:57 AM
Anyone knows what's going on with WINGS regarding STOX distribution? My Wings are still sitting on exchange (Bittrex) and it has taken a real pounding lately so I might just withdraw it to claim Stox, but can't really be bothered if it's not happening anymore. A bit tired of all the spam I get on Telegram and Slack for all my alts so I just deleted all these groups recently. Don't see any fresh updates either.

At this rate, WINGS has to be a 2018 sell estimate. Hopefully!
11009  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LITECOIN DUMPING HARD!!! on: October 05, 2017, 06:55:23 AM
I think litecoin is very overvalued now, it is nothing but a copy of bitcoin, like a chinese fake brand basically. Rather buy bitcoin.

That's a pretty ignorant statement, cherrypicking on some facts but conveniently leaving out others. Yes it was a copy of Bitcoin at a foundational level. And when it was trading below $5 for the longest time, this was its true value. I love Bitcoin too, but if you really like it, then you should appreciate the fact that its little brother Litecoin has been the testing ground for every new technology that Bitcoin adopted this year.

Remember SegWit? Yup, Thank Litecoin. And when Bitcoin has Lightning Network, don't forget to thank Litecoin.
11010  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Suggest Me a Coin, And I'll Tell You What I Think on: October 05, 2017, 06:04:54 AM
Stellar and stratis
what do you think about them
They are tech altcoin I am very interesting.
STellar - support api, many language for dev, fast transaction, almost 0 fee...

I already did STRAT.

STR/XLM.  It's very obvious that it still hasn't moved out of it's downtrend.  Just stay away if you aren't in yet and avoid timing the market when it's going down.  That sh*t will make you lose even more BTC.  Be patient and pick the right spot.

But the good thing is volatility is going down.  So it should start going flat sooner or later.

True that. For a while I thought it was "wise" to look at coins that spent consecutive days in downtrend, especially when I saw that in every week at least one or two days would be on the up. So I would get in when I saw four or five consecutive red days, sometimes more than 10% in each day. Went in, thinking I had them cheap and then the greens were barely 1-2% before trending even lower. Lost a lot of BTC like this, especially when their fiat values actually weren't affected. Just their BTC price.
11011  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The flippening, its over. on: October 04, 2017, 07:55:14 PM
Yeah, I bet a lot of ETH whales spent a lot of energy and money trying but it never really came close to happening. Even the ICO craze did its best but the time for them has already passed a very short lived golden era. Maybe the new Ethereum, when the fork completes, will be able to support the same volume of ICOs in future, but with all the talk on regulation and ICO scrutiny, plus the burnt ICO investors who've generally seen their tokens crash and burn, it's hard to see another scenario in 2018 where everyone wants to buy up ERC20 tokens.
11012  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Elastic(XEL): The Decentralized Supercomputer. The Golem Slayer. MOON. on: October 04, 2017, 10:06:32 AM
Holding Golem, SONM and XEL all three supercomputer coins and have to say that all these
have yet to show their potential. SONM did have a big rally last couple of days. In marketcap,
SONM and XEL are close and much lower than Golem so may show better gains.

Yeah, I'm looking to pad my portfolio with Golem and Sonm just before the end of Q4 2017. All of them in their own way have shown their potential - but not a single one has realised even a little of it. I'm not too worried at all since these things take time. Supercomputers have always been talked up for their potential but seen limited industries embrace it.

My XEL picking from the three isn't going to bring me regret I'm sure, but I don't want to be caught holding the "wrong" of the three!
11013  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Best browser for Etherdelta??? on: October 04, 2017, 08:36:28 AM
I don't face any problems here with Etherdelta on my Chrome browser, so it must be an issue from your side. Why not try installing a fresh version of Chrome with no other extensions enabled? For years, Firefox and Chrome have worked well for me, even the Waves add on is seamless and fast. But check back with the website and see if you can troubleshoot. Try sharing the exact details of your problem so we can help.
11014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Forbes thinks Swarm.Fund can bring crypto into the mainstream on: October 04, 2017, 07:16:24 AM
Remember that Forbes also featured OneCoin on their coverpage, saying that their CEO was an awesome woman and the business was one of the best models for modern corporate. We all know now OneCoin was a proven scam and pyramid scheme, and had nothing to do with actual crypto and swarm. The lesson here is, don't believe everything you read. Even experts can get it wrong sometimes. And by the way, Forbes is not a crypto expert!
11015  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Recommendations for a guide to start a technical learning of blockchain tech on: October 03, 2017, 11:39:06 AM
Skip learning Ethereum and solidity for now and start with the proven protocol and cryptocurrency, Bitcoin. You can learn the basics in their wiki page, https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Main_Page.

You can go deeper and learn how mining, transactions and everything else on how the blockchain works in the developer's documentation, https://bitcoin.org/en/developer-documentation.

Thanks! Isn't Bitcoin and Etherum different in how they function on the blockchain though?

You asked for advice, so just listen Wink

There are a variety of ways, because there are a variety of blockchain. But to understand from the beginning, you should go through the basic "education" material, which is generally based on Bitcoin. And once you know Bitcoin, you will find it easier to learn something else. Also, there are other types of crypto that don't use blockchain but then that is another lesson for another day.
11016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Elastic(XEL): The Decentralized Supercomputer. The Golem Slayer. MOON. on: October 03, 2017, 10:35:05 AM
Today, I added a small XEL holding to my rather small list of altcoins. Just look at it go, so much downwards pressure and yet it fights to stay above 10k satoshi no matter what (even during the last alt red weeks or September). Only 100 XELs, 50 I set to sell at 13k as I just want to realist 25% profits, and 50 I will hodl forever. Haha. Well, at least until the 200k that people predicted!

This one is set to forget until January at earliest!

Why do I make myself the work to bring you this thoughts in mind?!

I did invest in EDG, worked out, sold between 1.20 - 1.30 $ and was looking for something else in that direction, found great projects which are in their ICO level of development... my money went there:

https://gimli.io/token-launch/

(eGames and Betting on them is to 100% a big future industrie, GIM is like Bitcoin itself, beside the fact that the GIMli Project is developing as well as operating "OUR" own "Silkroad". Gamblers and these betting freaks are going to be "addicted" to that decentralized betting system because GIM is going to deflating, simple shit, thats it... go in and never go out and we will all win (]:€)/.

As more of you realize what I write and act that way, as faster we will all get to the moon, well... in my opinion even to mars Wink within 7 years, depending on the volume of your investment...

Good for you. I intended to get into Edgless, but my doubt started after seeing that they never made good on even the simpler promises such as Live BJ which they just kept quiet about when it didn't launch on time. Small things like that says a lot when millions are involved. After the hack, they said not to worry and nothing would be affected but then the same pace bothered me.

Gimli = interesting, but I just can't really take it seriously when something is named after a grumpy dwarf from LoTR. Tongue
11018  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bittrex's delisting list on: October 03, 2017, 07:41:44 AM
Hmm, Bitshares isn't my favourite alt by any stretch and its fishy beginnings are just some of the reasons I didn't like it but then the same could be said of a lot of the alts listed at Bittrex! I suppose one has to be careful and respond to that sort of news a lot quicker or they'll be caught bagholding in a moment. Hopefully, Bittrex delisted it giving time to holders to withdraw? I didn't get any notification about any delisting yet. Presuming that it's because I don't have any balances on those coins at the time.
11019  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which Coins are a great LONG-TERM investment ???? on: October 03, 2017, 06:25:39 AM
i don't think i'd enter any alt with a 5-10 year mind set.

bitcoin has a chance because it has history and trust and crypto as a whole has a requirement for a reference coin. to an extent it's immune from technical superiority.

everything else is fair game. some coins have good ideas. with 5-10 years of development the chances are someone will come up with something that does the same ideas much, much better.

Why not a thinking of 5 to 10 years? If you look at Ethereum and Litecoin, they are midway into their first 5 years. That is the period I would say for these types of long-term alts to fully establish themselves... their identity, their goals, their community and their developments. I cannot say the same about other alts who have merely been around since 2014 or even 2012 but were just sleeping for many years. And yes, I know ICO tokens/alts are in a totally different category, but if you see their roadmaps, many are now looking beyond 5 years.
11020  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The HIDDEN GEM FOR 2018 on: October 02, 2017, 07:31:28 PM
I'm just dropping by to point out that if a token is an ICO that has made millions at crowdfunding phase then that's far from being a 'gem'.  ICO's are mostly overbudgeted projects with usually unqualified devs.

On top of my head, examples of gems that became successful are Monero, Decred (imho) and NEM.  They were undervalued and often overlooked.

Yeah, people have such short memories. I'm getting so irritated by tokens and alts that aren't even a shade of their ICO funding in market cap, have missed deadlines on development roadmaps so often they get away with publishing a brand new website and get featured in some obscure crypto conference. From talking about tech and partnerships pre ICO, now they're talking about getting listed and reaching X price in some number of months.

Consider Bitcoin's early budget and the zero budget of most early good alts. And consider the millions taken in by ICOs. You are absolutely spot on. Gems they are not. Wasteful efforts and poor results.
