11041  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CHC] ChainCoin - Cryptopia & Novaexchange - Required update 0.9.3.1 on: September 28, 2017, 05:30:28 AM
2689 masternodes are running woho  Grin just got my first CHC 2.80007000 from one of my masternodes

And it goes to 3.6 in just 25 days Cheesy

3.6 coins daily? regards.
Are there any statistics about how much you get every day with a master node? Or better, what is the return on investment?  I currently have a Bitsend masternode and would like to set up a Chaincoin masternode as well.

Currently ~1.1CHC/day

so 25c a day. i was tempted until i saw you post that. lol

Yeah, if anyone would like to share daily averages over the past week or since getting Masternodes, please do so. It might entice those of us on the sidelines. If anyone knows my old post history, then you might know that I got very interested in an alt here that implemented Masternodes last July (actually it started doing it from months ago but the dev only managed in July). At the very beginning it was profitable, but now I don't really earn much more than before implementing it.

Not saying it's bad. Just haven't seen much higher profits.
11042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ZeroNet Coin - 100% Premined 100% Free ICO Airdrops on: September 27, 2017, 09:17:48 AM
Sent a PM!

Loving all these new projects coming up, and look at this one! No ICO ever needed, and yet a full on project that is going to be usefull for everyone who is tired of the nonsense going on with Piratebay and all those malware hosting sites. Torrents is still the main outlet for information that a lot of us can still access. Not to mention the speeds.

I am not sure I will dare to seed though, because of IP detection (I can download quite well but when seeding it doesn't seem to work past VPN).
11043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Huge ZEC pump 27/09 on: September 27, 2017, 08:33:34 AM
Looks like I missed another Bithumb news spike... I am thinking now that if Bithumb continues to list all these anonymous coins, will their regulatory bodies sit up and take notice? As far as I know, everyone is pretty much cool with Bitcoin. But if the powers that be, see this move as a way to arm more criminals with anonymous crypto, it might change its mind soon.

What do you think guys, still a lot of room to grow or wait til it dips again?
11044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: $100 in every altcoin under $1 from top40 on: September 27, 2017, 07:46:37 AM
I thought about doing that myself a while ago, (except I thought about top 25 and in terms of BTC price of below 25,000 satoshi) but I made some rough calculations and would have lost money, especially taking into account the September bears across all alts. If you look at the so-called x100 coins, they were too small in market cap to reach top 40.

Point is, that is just gambling. You need to make informed decisions based on self research. It's the only way to learn.
11045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why not everybody sell their bitcoin and buy etherium instead on: September 27, 2017, 06:21:48 AM
I would have thought that after all this time, and the hype about Bitcoin Cash and the hundreds of ETH tokens out there... we wouldn't see ETH shills. But here they come to prove me wrong.

Seriously? ETH is better because of smart contract? It's hardforking now because it needs to scale and wasn't secure enough for all the apps coming onboard. That's doing it backwards, but never mind.
11046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO why do you buy these tokens on: September 26, 2017, 06:38:31 PM
Hello, dear guru. I'm new to investing in the crypt, but I already have experience in investing in bitcoin and ether. But I have a question about ICO? Guys, why is this all? What should I expect from an investor buying these tokens? And why do you buy these tokens? If you buy? Huh

People are buying a ton of different ICO's because some of them go to the moon and deliver insane gains, but of course, you might as well buy lottery tickets because at this poin, with so many ICOs and so many scams, buying the right one that moons is increasingly unlikely. But unlike lottery, with ICO's you can do research and know what you are buying, so if you do enough research, you may find the next (rare) project that actually brings value to the table and pumps nicely for a reason.

This is what value investing is. Most of the work is done on the research of the endless projects out there, not trading.

This is a very important point with ICOs. I wouldn't call it a lottery though, as you only have one chance to win big there. But it is a LOT like gambling now. ICOs promise big returns, and everyone talks about values on exchanges and all that but a lot of it is rigged. From rigged markets, to rigged products (or even none at all). The best thing to do now is to choose one or two good ICOs based on YOUR OWN research.

And then hope for the best.
11047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My theory about Waves on: September 26, 2017, 04:09:32 PM
What is this based on? Why is it being posted? I don't understand why people think that their theories are for it to the rest of the Forum. The fact is that waves is not going to make it. Everyone knows the waves is not going to make it. And there is no reason for anyone to come out try to say that it's going to.

I'd like to ask the same questions to you: What is your statement based on? Why are you posting it? The forum is all about open discussion, and there are very few hard facts to go around when it comes to Speculation, which is what this thread is about. Even the technical sections have all kinds of facts being argued over Smiley

"Everyone knows the waves is not going to make it".

Care to validate?
11048  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So low market cap is better for investment? on: September 26, 2017, 02:39:15 PM
low marketcap = bigger chance of giving you higher multipliers on your investment but the risk that you lose everything because the project fails/there's no interest in it is rather high.
high marketcap = smaller chance of high multipliers but also small risk of a failed project.

Personally I like to invest in projects with 10-30 mln marketcap.

At paper value, this is a better informed decision (looking at a mid range market cap). But as pointed out, it is still very easy to manipulate market cap with a few big holders (sometimes even just one group that looks like a lot of people). If there was one way to make certain that the traders volume on exchanges are real and amount to the market cap, then I agree with 10-30 mln.

But as we know, even that is easy to fake.

Low cap on the other hand, can also mean a good thing if it equates low manipulation.
11049  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE - 🎲🎲🎲 ICO ANNOUNCE 15 AUG 2017! JOIN THE TRANSFORMATION! 🎰🎰🎰 on: September 26, 2017, 11:45:58 AM
i have 2 questions hope i can get answer:

1.- How often will the profit sharing be made?
2.- Will you take into account the time we take holding the positions or only the number of tokens we have?

thanks!!

Although I am not related to bitdice (except for holding tokens  Grin ), I can answer these questions.

1. Payouts will be made 4 times each year. I am not 100% sure when the first payout will be, but I thought it would be early January.

2. No, how long someone possesses the tokens will not be taken in account. If you aquiered the tokens the day before the payout, you're receiving exactely the same amount as someone who has been holding them for 2 months.

I think you're right here because profits are shared quarterly. Traditionally, quarterly means up til March, June, September and December. And like normal shareholder dividends, these are distributed the following month... so January, April, July and October sounds about right. The ICO ended in September, so it makes sense that 2017 Q4 profits would be the first one to be shared out.

Interesting point, and maybe a suggestion to add a tiny reward to long-term holders. Maybe tokens that are held for consecutive quarters can get bonuses or upgrades at the casino? This won't affect actual profit calculation but reward loyalty?
11050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you invest in ICOs? on: September 26, 2017, 11:02:14 AM
I like bubbles. This sweet noise when it pops Smiley Smiley Smiley

No, of course people like to invest in ICOs because their investment can reach a total growth of a five digit number in percent.

The problem is that people made big money on cryptos and throw it on ICOs like the salt bae. It creates an economic bubble, while it even attracts ordinary people to invest.

Without bubbles, how are the slowpokes like me going to find a good entry point anyway, right? Bubbles are the opportunities for people who really only have a few hours a week to really look into "investments". I don't have the patience or discipline to do day trading. Part of the reason for ICOs to me, other than simple profit making, is also that people have too much crypto they can't immediately convert. How else than to magically make businesses that make more crypto, right?
11051  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is there a Campaign that pays a ethereum? on: September 25, 2017, 11:08:34 AM
Actually, almost all the campaigns here in the altcoins bounty section pay out in Ethereum tokens. I can only recall seeing one or two ICOs with non-ERC20 tokens in the past weeks. They might call them Stakes instead of a fixed token value, which means you only get the tokens later on after they calculate your share from the total bounties.

If you want immediate tokens, there are airdrops to look out for. Just search airdrop bitcointalk.
11052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Getting My 1 ETH into my Liqui Exchange Wallet?? on: September 25, 2017, 09:32:21 AM
There is nothing wrong from what I can see. You sent ETH. It confirmed. So you are all good. If you want to withdraw, simply go to withdraw, put in your wallet address and entire Liqui balance. Then withdraw. You will get your ETH back minus transaction fee.

If you still don't see it reflected in your account balance, contact support.

What the warning means is don't send less than 0.1 ETH and don't use a smart contract. Just use a normal send. Did you use a normal spend and from what wallet?
11053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What would you do with 10 eth on: September 25, 2017, 08:09:52 AM
One of the golden rules of investment which would definitely apply to an investment of 10 ETH... is diversify. Hold that majority, and look at diversifying out a small percentage of that into other activities. Loan out a bit of it on Polo or Bittrex. Use some of it to do margin trading on ETH pairs if you like to do a spot of trading. Perhaps even half an ETH (5%) to be invested in an ETH-accepting ICO that you like.
11054  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ZEN is a superior version of ZCash, but only 2% of price? lot of development on: September 25, 2017, 06:52:23 AM
ZEN has a good specs,
Very good team & community.

One thing,
I beleive that Price is a mix of whale, community, time, and devs,
more complicated
Zen is young project, still we have plenty of time for proving. Major achievement was TLS integration. This is one step towards Secure Nodes integration. Why this is important? We have our unique road and we are building our integrity, which is a very slow process. Once when nodes become ready for use this process will be speed up as reward for all team efforts.
Team and community slowly rising due to transparency. Everybody can join slack channel and can present their ideas to community. Everybody's invited.
Zen team working on multiple wallets including android and integrations for hardware wallet. Also  you can use now web based wallet https://myzenwallet.io/ fast and secure.
Zen is acepted is now acepted here:
https://www.coinpayments.net/
https://evercoin.com/
https://www.cryptopia.co.nz
https://torguard.net/
This is very important step in further adoption.

My conclusion Zen is good opportunity for everyone who wants to invest in Zcash improved technology for much less than this could be case with Zcash. ZenCash project can gives you much more in return.

Good commentary. Price is a mix of many things. But the most important is the community, followed by devs. And time, how can we forget that? Nothing happens quickly that is good for the long term. You see a coin jump ridiculously in price? That's a whale derived activity and cannot possibly be a lasting action. I have seen communities and developers revive a crap coin. I have never seen whales bring anything back from the dead.
11055  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Dark is on the MOVE! on: September 25, 2017, 05:29:12 AM
Currently down to 0.35 cents.
I think the name is a good thing - although it does make you question if the team is serious enough with this.
If they are - the name is a blessing.

There's a point here, to be honest. Some alts have a silly name, but captures the entire spirit of the development, vision and community behind it. Dogecoin is the perfect example of this to me. People who don't understand it will point and roll eyes. But it's the perfect name for the alt.

Ethereum Dark? I think they had "epic" aspirations but looking at the distribution model, it might have been a mistake.
11056  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Can I have two myetherwallets. on: September 24, 2017, 05:43:35 PM
There is no limit to having myetherwallet more than 1 account. As long as you can manage it properly and not get trapped by phishing site.
If we want too manage more and more MEW account's then we must definately look at securing them.
There are many phishing sites waiting to trap the users even the first result in the google search I mean the AdWords also shows a phishing address.
The best way is to bookmark the site and use that for future logins and we can use etherscan to check its balance. The lesser we login the more safe or account's will be.

This is one of the most advanced phishing scam link: (please don't click)
www.myetherwallet.cam

Nobody notices the full domain in a hurry

I also notice of that scam link on slack bot that always pop-up that ask for an update for your wallet. They hit more people and stole there eth wallet.

That's the problem people didn't foresee with the sort of service MEW offers. It's extremely vulnerable to phishing attempts. Don't be mistaken though, this has nothing to do with MEW as a service, it's just a problem of accessing something through the web. People have to learn to be wiser than clicking on links and entering their info.

11057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Electroneum - Britains first crypto opinion on: September 24, 2017, 03:22:36 PM
Hello All,

Came across this  Electroneum ICO . It looks like,  it  is for gaming purpose. any insights about the ICO and future.

Its basically an educational game that they launch on cryptocurrency and playing it =mining=making a tiny bit of cash. It seems really hyped and I participated in the ICO
I don't think its a bad concept at all even if they don't reach their targeted audience the app can still be advertised to groups that are less likely to learn cryptocurrency but are interested. I can't remember everything exactly as I'm pretty fried at the moment (from work)

Still a reasonably reasonable comment from someone who's pretty fried Wink You work Sundays too?

Anyway, yes. Mainstream education for Bitcoin/crypto/blockchain is still terrible at the moment. The learning curve is incredibly steep. You can spend a few hours at bitcoin.org to learn about the basics, and weeks on this forum to understand more... and you're not really closer to grasping the intermediates until you dedicate actual reading and learning time.
11058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What a lovely day for EtherDelta. Due to Kyber Token launch. on: September 24, 2017, 02:01:41 PM
+5000 transaction in Ethereum Network and half of them in EtherDelta.

The price of KNC now going lower to 0.005. Ico price was 0.002 So it is x2.5!! Very high.

Usually tokens on EtherDelta start to trading with ICO price or a little bit above it.

Do not fall to FOMO! Wait!

0x project was starting a little bit over ICO price, just before it was added on Bittrex. I see 0x project is potentialy the same as KNC.

I´d say something between 0.0025/0.003 is real price for KNC on EtherDelta now. Extra money for not going throw registration process is ok.

Okay. Let me get this straight. We shouldn't buy in now or we fall to FOMO and are caught bag holding? But if your valuation is accurate, then the current price is already a good entry point, since it already is at your real price value, no?

Or are you saying it will still drop to below ICO price?
11059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: why is blackmoon already below ico price ? on: September 24, 2017, 01:29:01 PM
I find it always so strange in this forum, how I can see a mention of an ICO like Blackmoon AFTER it is already over, and then I will start to see all sorts of threads about it! I have to say this about Blackmoon: it looks incredibly professional. But even that isn't stopping it from falling for the ICO traps of pricing. It's not their fault, but they could have expected it. Always seems better to just buy tokens after ICOs, the way things are going!
11060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: CHINA UPDATE: The news China doesn't want you to know. on: September 24, 2017, 01:07:24 PM
Hey guys -

Time will tell if I can be "trusted"  Wink

There will be an article on Coindesk about the FUD BS re:China on Monday that will help flip the market trends.  We will see more growth early Oct once the Chinese FUD and "Ghost Month" pass.

Is it too odd to think that someone has a friend in China?  Even the Chinese hedge fund managers have friends, believe it or not.

Until then!

You had me at Zencash.

I went through your posts and like a lot of the general advice you’ve been giving:
Diversify, find a good team, hold long term; all proven to work.

I’m a big believer in Zencash. They have a great team, an excellent governance model, and when Secure Nodes launch next month will be unique in the crypto space. Charles Hoskinson and his IOHK team have been helping in an unofficial capacity which tells me there’s more here than meets the eye.

I like Waves also, but need to do more research on the team.

Anyway, you do realize you made a do-or-die statement when you said:
“There will be an article on Coindesk about the FUD BS re:China on Monday that will help flip the market trends”

If this happens tomorrow, you will gain a big following, if not, most will ignore anything else you have to say. For various reasons I hope your statement comes to pass.

After ZenCash got their public approval from Ethereum's Byzantine which went live this week, you can be sure that they are going to get a lot more recognition from the coming weeks. My only issue is that I still feel it is overpriced at almost $7 now. I have to wait at least for 4.50 before trying to get in on ZCash. Oh and yes I'm also waiting for tomorrow's FUD to see if this thread is true.
