This is not the right way to deal. You spoke to three users and without cancelling the deal with 2 users and not replying to their PMs, you decide to deal with the third one? For selling items via PayPal, Ebay is good as they offer a seller protection but for converting BTC to PayPal, there are very few trusted websites these exchanges and many use Virwox or Localbitcoins. It's advised not to use this forum for PP exchanges as everyday there are chargeback scams that happen. Escrows aren't going to help you in case there's a chargeback.

You can use escrow even before verifying the purchase code as you won't lose anything. If the OP is lying about buying the theme, then it's his loss of reputation. Just look out for a reputed escrow who can clear the confusion. |

According to me, these are the major reasons why people don't use bitcoins.
1. Anonymity: The currency is anonymous and not many do prefer using a currency that isn't legally recognized.
2. Use of bitcoins: People who are new to this currency don't see any way of using this currency as it's not accepted as a payment method compared to PayPal and Debit cards. They feel it isn't worth owning bitcoins as you need to convert it by selling it for another payment method to get fiat cash.
3. Negativity: There are many news articles which claim bitcoins as a currency used for criminal activities. This makes people refrain from using it.
4. Price: It's risky to hold bitcoins as the price keeps fluctuating a lot and isn't stable.

For PayPal and Bitcoin transfers, you can try VirWox but their fee is very high. Trusting members of this forum is risking your PP funds as not always people transact in bitcoins via PayPal and sometimes chargebacks don't work if the seller doesn't send the bitcoins. You already have a neutral feedback claiming you are UME and hence it's very unlikely that you can trade via PP with any member of this forum.

It's a good way to make users aware of imposters who claim to represent reputed escrows/members of the forum. In my case, I just don't want the text to get quoted and be sent back to the newbie. It's tiring to keep editing the huge text and send it back to the person.

Pay your bills or buy gift cards with the BTC you've earned as investing it would be a bad option since you've been trading all this while and have incurred a loss. If you wish, you can start your own website by buying a domain name and then advertisers could pay you per month which could earn you a good amount of profit.
As it will be for me leave those in your wallet and forget about those. One day, when the price will (can, may) go high, remember and change those. Maybe, that day, you can buy an expensive car with those. But even the price will not go high for sure will not go down. So, their value, at least will remain the same. The price may increase or remain the same but waiting for years in the hope the price increases isn't worth. It's better to invest such a huge amount or transfer the money to a bank account if the person is not interested in trading anymore. |
