11062  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to Forge a BTC transaction using Electrum and Trezor on: February 04, 2019, 03:02:32 PM
Thankyou. The link is the official electrum website. Why is that a problem or am I misunderstanding you? Please explain. In the meanwhile will place the main home page as follows..  https://electrum.org/#home  If its coming from Electrums website I am sure the file will not be an issue.
Verifying the files signatures should be a mandatory step when downloading Electrum. There are many reasons why someone could end up in the wrong website or trusting a phishing email/message. Let’s not forget the last vulnerability where Electrum was showing fake “please update” messages leading to an infected wallet.

Since it was coming from the legit wallet, people fell for it. But if they had the habit of verifying the signatures, they would know that something wasn’t right. Let’s not be lazy with our security; always double check your files.
11063  Other / Meta / Re: What happened to my trust. Admins, help me please... on: February 04, 2019, 02:51:00 PM
Well, theymos did say that he didn’t want DT users tagging others solely for shitposting. But you did neg trust him back for some reason?
11064  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Money Stolen from Electrum on: February 04, 2019, 12:16:37 PM
It’s closed now but it wasn’t before.

After the hacker successfully gets some victims, he deletes all the evidence, create a new repo and start all over again.

You can also try posting this in the Bither ANN thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=696626.0

11066  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] NiceHash.com - sell & buy hash rate cloud mining service / multipool on: February 03, 2019, 07:18:21 PM
Is there an official NiceHash app for droid phones ?

Ive seen a couple in the play store but looking for an official one.

Thanks,
Apparently not.

They said they were planning on developing one in the future. But that was back in 2017 and there were no progress since then.
11067  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 773M Emails Hacked on: February 03, 2019, 07:01:53 PM
Password manager + 24 long unique password + 2FA = profit.

Some password managers were hacked already, sadly. LastPass was hacked few years ago.

Nothing online is 100%

That's why bitcoin solution is amazing: keys are hold offline, unhackable.
Sorry, forgot to mention the word “offline”.

I actually use KeePass as my password manager and only store my db file in a few encrypted flash drives.

Password manager + 24 long unique password + 2FA = profit.

Never reuse your password and never pick a shit password (i.e ilovemydog123).

Never got hacked after uncountables leaks.
11069  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: 📣📣📣 [ANN] 👉 BESTMIXER.IO 👈 THE FUTURE OF BITCOIN MIXING! TECHNOLOGY IS HERE on: February 03, 2019, 06:09:06 PM
why do you have a red trust
You can read them in his trust page: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=1721098

Basically, people think he is untrustworthy because he is “Spreading lies about Wasabi wallet (and CoinJoin) to make their own centralized mixer look superior, causing potential customers being intentionally mislead“;

P.S: The above was taken directly from the neg trust feedback of one of the users.
11070  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Address Not Valid on: February 03, 2019, 12:45:52 PM
Is the address starting with “bc1”? If so, Ledger Live doesn’t support those kind of addresses (it just don’t think it’s valid)

You can open your Ledger wallet through Electrum or see if you can generate a normal address (starting with a 1 or 3) on Wasabi.
11071  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Money Stolen from Electrum on: February 02, 2019, 05:37:05 PM
-snip-
That would lead to some kind of centralization. Who says which server is trusted or not?

The exploit has been fixed already.
11072  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Money Stolen from Electrum on: February 02, 2019, 04:51:23 PM
Sorry, your coins are gone. I guess you missed the last news about Electrum, right?

There was an exploit where specific Electrum servers deployed by hackers where giving fake “update your Electrum” messages. They used that to make users download their fake wallet from the github link you posted above.

The exploit was fixed last version, which you unfortunately don’t have. I recommend that you do a clean reinstall od your OS, because there is a chance you may be infected with a malware.
11073  Economy / Reputation / Re: MASSIVE CHEAT of related accounts. DT users needed.. please take a look. on: February 02, 2019, 03:45:15 PM
I confirm that the user rejoin (#97167) is blatantly using translation tools and that he is most likely not an portuguese speaker.

I can make a full analysis and post it here as evidence if necessary. But for now, I will give him a neg trust.
11074  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: 2 weird happening now in ELECTRUM WALLET. (calling all devs from electrum) on: February 02, 2019, 01:35:33 PM
If I understand it correctly, -snip-
For me, he clearly stated that he deleted the executable, the fact that he said "that wallet" and "downloaded an updated one" means it's the fake Electrum version.

Aside from that, I'm pretty sure that Electrum always changes the server in every relaunch if your wallet is configured to "choose automatically" (default) and the chance that it will select the "bad server" is pretty slim. So I'd say, there's something fishy going on his side.
Plus, aside from him, there's no one else here who experienced unsendable bitcoins due to a "bad server", pretty much an isolated case.

If changing server didn't work, he can try my advice.
He literally said “downloaded an updated one FROM electrum.org”; you just cut that part off for some reason.

He also said:

Quote
i always ignore all notifications that said to update from here https://github.com/electrum-project/electrum/releases/latest (which is not the right one to update your wallet!) so my funds are not stolen BUT froze in this wallet.

Sounds pretty obvious that he didn’t download the fake wallet.

Also, chances of getting two infected servers in a row aren’t “pretty slim”, I actually got the same server two times in a row once and had to change it manually.

OP: do like the other users said and try selecting a trusted server manually.

Qual o id da transação que você fez?
11076  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: 100 usdt for each apple developer account on: February 02, 2019, 12:57:14 PM
What is this developer accounts? Just curious.
IIRC, it’s an account which you can use to publish apps on the Apple Store or sideload your own apps/cracked apps without having them constantly revoked.

11078  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cash deposits in Binance on: February 01, 2019, 10:57:07 PM
Is this allowed for all countries? I keep asking myself about it because in the other exchanges they require the person to take a photo holding bank card and this is part of KYC. And the card must have the person's name. I will research more about this binance option and I hope they do not use the same cex.io system that is already a big headache and so I gave up using cex.io
According to Binance’s FAQ, that’s the kind of verification you need to do:

Quote
Upload your document to verify your identity

- It is a valid government issued ID
- It contains an expiry date
- It contains your date of birth
- It contains your name
- Document and the picture should be in color
- The picture should be in high quality: make sure the photo is not blurry and the lighting is bright enough
- All 4 corners of the document should be visible, for example- when you open your passport you will have 2 pages in front of you. Both pages should appear in the photo
It has to be in English
- The photo should be in JPG format. PDF will not be accepted
- The files must be smaller than 4 MB each

11079  Other / Meta / Re: The reason behind "permanent" banning? on: February 01, 2019, 08:58:48 PM
I will quote the original post of theymos later, when I saw it again, not found ATM.  I don't remember where I read it Embarrassed
He also makes that clear here:

Anything that'd get you expelled from a university for plagiarism (which all of the above-banned examples would) will get you permabanned from this forum, regardless of your rank.
11080  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: G2A prices on: February 01, 2019, 05:42:06 PM
Don’t use G2A.

I would advise everyone to avoid Kinguin and G2A at all costs. They don't care about their costumers and are actually hated by the whole PCMR community.

A quick overview on how shit they are: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/wiki/keyresellers
