11082  Economy / Currency exchange / [WTS] BTC for Perfect Money/OKPay/IMPS on: October 12, 2015, 07:17:51 PM
I have 0.0247 BTC which I want to sell for PM/OKPay (3% more than the preev.com rate). For NEFT, rate is 1:1.

Buyer needs to go first else we can use an escrow (buyer needs to pay the fee).
11083  Other / Meta / Re: Signature Campaign section? on: October 12, 2015, 07:14:24 PM
This section was asked for before as well and the MODs said that since there are maximum 20-25 threads in that section, a separate sub section isn't required.

However, I do believe that we should have a sub section for it as these threads keep coming up while threads wherein people post individual tasks or promote their services get pushed to the 2nd or 3rd page within an hour or two which is unfair to them.
11084  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe we need more ways of advertising Bitcoin currency? on: October 11, 2015, 09:02:47 PM
Advertising bitcoins also may not help. People who read about bitcoins aren't getting convinced to use them due to the negativity that has been evident in newspapers and magazines which is bad for the future bitcoins. When I tried to make my friend use bitcoins, he did not find it a convenient option and he prefers to trade in USD/EUR rather than BTC which isn't considered legal as of now. Also the "risk" factor makes people drop out. BTC should be promoted as a tax saving currency rather than a currency that is anonymous and not legal. It will help more people to join in and use this currency else it will just remain a virtual currency whose future is unknown.

11085  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is forum escrow still safe? on: October 11, 2015, 08:49:46 PM
QS dint yet scam anyone and hence he as an escrow can still be trusted to an extent. However, escrows need to be polite and professional on this forum rather than feel that they are the higher than the people who are using their services. Some sort of respect and acknowledgement is important which lacks on this forum. Escrowing for an alt is not appreciated at all and even the escrows leaving a rating for the people using their services as it doesn't make the members trustworthy just because they used an escrow. It's still safe to use an escrow who is in DT level 1 but it's still recommended to check their trust list.

That being it, I'm still skeptical on using some reputed escrows as I haven't interacted with them and trusting a person whom I haven't even spoken too is not what I can do. MZ has been the only escrow I've used and since he is from my country, it's easier to deal with him rather than escrows who live outside.
11086  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hi Newbie here with a few questions! on: October 11, 2015, 08:23:32 PM
Hi I'm Nyx2011 and I'm wondering what the best way to earn btc is at the moment? Are physical goods better to deal in than digital? What are the advantages of using bitcoin in my shops?

The best way to earn BTC is via Signature Campaigns and tasks posted in the Services section of this forum.

Digital goods are better as there is no shopping involved and you can use an escrow who will be a trusted middleman and make the deal be secure and safe for both the buyer and seller. In case of digital goods, escrow seems almost impossible. Also, the profit margin digital goods is higher than that of physical goods.

Bitcoin prices often fluctuate because of which you can earn profit but there is also a risk factor involved. For example, if you sell you gift card worth $200 for $175 via bitcoins when the BTC price is $200 and the next day price of 1 BTC increases to $250, you will get $218 for the same gift card worth $200. Then you can exchange this BTC for fiat and transfer the money to your bank.

11087  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can I trust BTC exchanges? on: October 11, 2015, 08:09:37 PM
I only trade on highly trusted exchange websites rather than those that have good reviews as mostly are fake ones. Localbitcoins is one good website and VirWox is the other one that are safe to trade on but the fees are definitely high. If not these websites, for other currencies I choose the ones recommended by the Payment Processors like Payza has its own exchange website and Perfect Money as well has its own exchange website wherein they charge 2% fee on transactions involving bitcoins. It takes time to get the bitcoins exchange but still it's worth the trust.
11088  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: have btc need okpay on: October 11, 2015, 01:45:49 PM
I have $4.95 in my OKPay account. I need $5.2 BTC in exchange. Pm me if interested.
11089  Economy / Speculation / Re: use chargeback to get free bitcoins? on: October 11, 2015, 11:27:38 AM
That's a known technique and a risky one too. It's not so easy to chargeback using a CC nor a bank account as you need to mention that you have been trading bitcoins which is not a legal currency and then you also need to provide your source of earning those bitcoins which can lead to your account getting freezed. People also hack bank accounts and the money gets chargedback after the exchange takes place and this is same as scamming and a criminal act.
11090  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long did it take you to make 1 BTC? on: October 11, 2015, 11:24:30 AM
I took 6 months to earn 1 BTC. I did not invest in any website nor gamble the money and whatever I earned was from signature campaigns and completing few tasks which paid me in bitcoins as well as by selling my gift cards for bitcoins. I am quite happy with my earnings and wish to make my next BTC in less than 3 months by completing more tasks in bitcoins.
11091  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it a good long term investment to buy 1 BTC today? on: October 11, 2015, 11:15:08 AM
It would be risky to buy 1 BTC today but it's a good long term investment. Currently the price of 1 BTC = $246 which is pretty low and going by the price chart for the past 1 year, the BTC price has reached $310 which is an amount you can set to withdraw the profit of $64. However, I cannot advise you to hold your bitcoins for more than a year as I myself don't hold coins for so long.

11093  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have halted all purchases paying with Bitcoin on: October 11, 2015, 09:32:58 AM
You clearly have no idea what you'r'e talking about. Gold has been the 'gold standard' as a medium of exchange for thousands of years. If you look at gold's history, there has been hugely volatile rides in price throughout the years.

https://www.tradingview.com/x/0gCBfwtm/

Check this chart out of GOLD during the 80's boom and subsequent decline..

Even though gold is a global commodity, it really is in the control of very few entities. The scale of their games is simply much larger. But the end goal exactly the same.

At the end of the day, where you choose to put your money is up to you, each and every asset is exposed to 'market forces' whether its Commodities, currencies or stocks. Some just fluctuate less on smaller time frames. If you zoom out and look at the bigger picture, there's always a bunch of people getting screwed. In a zero-sum game, there's only very few winners, and those exact wins are on the backs of the majority losing.

I am not checking the price worth 20 years back as Gold is a medium of exchange since the 18th century. It was just an example and I dint get what you are trying to say. The comparison was Gold and bitcoins and which is more worth while I haven't eliminated the risk factor that exists in both the physical commodity as well as virtual one. For me it's Gold that's what I said whether or not the price fluctuates is not a concern for me.
11094  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have halted all purchases paying with Bitcoin on: October 10, 2015, 04:22:57 PM
just hold it and wait 10 years. that is probably a better choice than buying gold.

by the way: in the meantime you can study it further  Smiley
i would rather buying real bitcoin made from gold than holding a bitcoin for 10 years , because the rate of gold always increase

That's what even I was trying to say that Gold is a physical item while bitcoins is just a virtual currency. Tomorrow if Gold is worth nothing, I'll atleast be holding a real commodity unlike bitcoins that are just virtual. I want to own PHYSICAL bitcoins and not something virtual in comparison.

11095  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have halted all purchases paying with Bitcoin on: October 10, 2015, 02:43:51 PM

Well, are you betting gold will double in value in the next few years? I think gold is a good store of value, but unless a gold shortage happen, the value will most not likely raise by all that much.

If BTC goes up to only 400$, then that is a great investment to make right now. But if you wish for physical good that will merely retain their value, then gold/silver and toilet paper it is.

Like I said earlier, gold is not just a commodity for me that just have a value but we also have jewelry made of gold and that's worth much more than the bitcoins I hold in a wallet. I am almost 100% sure that Gold being used for the past 100 years will continue to hold value for another 100 years but will Bitcoins be able to survive so long? It would make me look delusional if I say that bitcoins would last for so long. About doubling the price, it's just a guess that the price would be $400 after 2-3 years but if we take into account the price in 2013, now the price is 25% the value it was then. If the price does reach $400, it would still be a loss for those who bought bitcoins when it was worth $1000. On the other hand, the price of gold has not reached -75% of its amount in 2013 (1 kg is now worth $38,532 and the percentage difference in 2 years is -10% approximately) . The price is stable which matters a lot while we decide what's preferred Gold or Bitcoins.
11096  Other / Meta / Re: STOP SUPPORTING CRIMINALS AND SCAMMERS on: October 10, 2015, 12:48:46 PM
It's not the forum's fault if the members here scam or commit crime but I do agree that by not banning them it can cause furthuer harm to the reputation of the forum and members as well. There have been many users who have left this forum due to this reason as everyday a new scam comes out and people are more dishonest than trusted here. The other forum I'm a part of has banned all proven scammers and hence users are more trusted there.
11097  Other / Meta / Re: "You must be this tall to ride" Threads on: October 10, 2015, 12:35:11 PM
It's not only newbies who derail topics but I've seen many Hero/Legendary members doing the same. The activity/rank of a person doesn't define a person as a constructive poster/spammer w/o taking into accounts that have been sold. Self moderating threads also won't work and there are many newbies who just have one account on this forum and contribute to a thread. It would be unfair to those newbies who genuinely post some informative content on this forum and again it would like a newbie jail. I don't see anyway wherein a thread creator would have ONLY constructive posts on his thread as it's an almost impossible to restrict members based on their activity/rank/reputation/IP. It's better if the forum could have a limit to the number of accounts a user can create using one IP (may be 10/IP AND/OR not allow a user to create more than one account in a day using the same IP) and ban proxies so that users don't abuse the forum. If MODs are given access to detect the IPs of users, it would be easier for them to just delete the multiple replies the same user creates on a thread just to increase his/her activity.
11098  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have halted all purchases paying with Bitcoin on: October 10, 2015, 12:28:31 PM
I value gold more than bitcoins TBH as Gold isn't just a commodity for me but it is more like a protection for my family and is more valuable than bitcoins. I am not being a pessimist but I don't think the price will reach even $500 in the next 2-3 years. It may go upto $400 but chances are very low going by the current trend.
11099  Other / New forum software / Re: Bitcointalk needs to have an upvote button on comments. on: October 09, 2015, 08:18:20 PM
I wasn't in favor of it before but after checking few forums with this option, users would avoid posting "I agree with you" "+1" and so on. It would tend to decrease the activity of the forum but spam would be reduced atleast. However, I don't want it to become a "Popular" kinda trend where users start asking people to like their post.
11100  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can I Sell Goods Yet? on: October 09, 2015, 02:51:22 PM
You can sell goods in the Local Market Place section if you can ship locally else if you can ship worldwide, you can place your offer in the Goods section https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=51.0.

If you only want to sell it for bitcoins, this forum can get you good buyers but if you can accept PayPal and other payment modes, Ebay or Amazon is a better option. They have their own seller policy which can protect you from interacting with fradulent buyers.
