11081  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling be profitable in long term ? on: July 21, 2017, 10:24:51 AM
There are two different long term type on gambling,if youre an owner of a gamblibg casino site then you will be profitable in long term, but if youre just a casual player on  a site luck must be ok your side for you to profit on it

Being an owner of a casino and a player at a casino is two totally different things. One just not setup a business without a proper team and a proper management. Being a casino owner is tough and there are a lot of hardships associated with it just like any other business. But a gambler is not even going to earn anything by simply gambling. However hard they try they will always lose in all EV- games because of the house edge.

Agreed. That is why they are called House Edge. The House always win. Whether you are a professional or a novice, its really hard to win against the house. That's why it is better to run after you have won big and never return. Because if you think that you can put the house down, you are very very wrong. I'm not saying that the house is cheating. What I'm saying is that the longer you stay and play, the more chances that you are going to lose. I think most of us, admit it or not are in the negative side in gambling, online or land based casinos.

Hey, can you double check? I'm getting 404 Page not found error. Better fix it ASAP as we might lose interested investors.

I did try to click the link that TargetCoin has given which is http://www.tgtcoins.com/ICO which is showing the error. But if you go to the main page and click ICO then everything is working as designed. I suggest you do the same so that you will be able to go to the ICO page.
11083  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Did your Exchange handle yesterdays huge price surge of ETH/BTC ? on: July 20, 2017, 03:45:00 AM
Kraken was dead yesterday during the surge.

I am still collecting recommendations which exchange to move to. Some people mentioned Bitfinex, but I don't who uses that?!?. They currently do not process fiat withdraws (don't know about deposits ), were apparently based in Taiwan for their banking and having problems sending money out of it. How does an exchange fund if it can't receive deposits ? Don't liking it all.

I don't like Poloniex either for their USDT not sure I want to be in that at all.  As far as I know USDT is a coin tied to USD.. but I want pure fiat not another coin.

With Kraken unreliable during yesterday's surge, not sure where to go.

Kraken was really a pain in the butt lately. And now they are saying that Last Quarter was 10x previous high as per their CEO. Maybe this is one of  the reason why Kraken has so many issues. But they should resolved them ASAP otherwise their customer will just turn away and look for alternatives.

And as per OmegaStarScream BTC-E, Bitstamp, GDAX and Gemini are good choices. I'm more incline to try GDAX an Gemini in the days to come. Right after Aug 1. When everything is settled down.
11084  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to control greed on gambling? on: July 20, 2017, 03:28:47 AM
There is no easy way, you need a strong personality, capable of resisting temptation and desire to play more or again. You can also reduce the risk by doing regular withdrawals and committing yourself to not gamble anything withdrawn, of course, this as well require a strong personality.

Having a strong personality doesn't help anyone from the addictive experience in gambling. Having a strong personality will just help you to become a good individual in your society, but not in your gambling activities. What you need is a strong drive to stop yourself even if you know that you will be winning more.

Strong personality has nothing to do with stopping your addiction. I think it will add fuel more to your gambling addict if you have strong personality. Because you can't accept defeat if you have that kind of personality. So what will happen is that if you lose you will tend to go back because its not correct for you to be defeated as a person. So you will go back again and try to win back. And as a result you don't know that you are becoming addicted to it and greediness sets in.

Predicting the August 1 Split Flow Chart the Hard Way

Below is a detailed flow chart graphic that depicts the possible outcomes to the upcoming scaling proposals that may be implemented in the near future. We hope to help our readers get a better understanding of what’s going on with these specific Bitcoin network developments.

A Visual Flow Chart Depicting the Possible Outcomes of Bitcoin Proposals That Might be Implemented

Over the next few weeks, the Bitcoin network and its participants may see some scaling proposals implemented to the protocol and the subject can be confusing. Right now there are multiple scenarios between three possible plans that include a user-activated soft fork (UASF), Segwit2x, and a user-activated hard fork (UAHF). We’ve done a run down of each proposal, community sentiment, and possible outcomes in recent articles to give our readers some information on the topics.

We want to take it a bit further and give our readers a visual glimpse at the possible outcomes of Segwit2x, UASF, UAHF, all the Bitcoin Improvement Proposals (BIP) involved, signaling periods, and a timeline of dates and requirements. Bitcoin.com would like to also thank our friends Hampus Sjöberg, Eric Wall, and Tomislav Dugandzic for allowing us to use the initial template for this flow chart.

11086  Economy / Economics / Re: crypto is the future, make money of it on: July 20, 2017, 01:58:29 AM
I assume it´s the future and we still are in present. So even now with BTC prices in the thousands we can consider ourselves early adopters and this market can only grow in the future. So make money of it.

Smart comment, yes we can still consider ourselves as one of those early adopters. Today is one of the golden age of bitcoin as the upcoming years are going to be a big bump for the crypto currency market because the price of bitcoin is going to increase for sure and we can't do stop it because it's destined to happen.

We should be greatful that we got thechance to know it before it became really trendy . We can get a lot of opportunities in the future if everwecan save much at rhis time, it will surely boom. So keep saving and holding until then.

Indeed. We are lucky that we have discovered bitcoin as early as today. Because in the future, when bitcoin will become the buzz, we can tell them that hey I'm already with bitcoin ahead of you guys. And specially if the price of bitcoin hike like $10000, maybe some of us will become a millionaire. Not instant because it will take years for us to save or store bitcoin to really profit big. But at least we are ahead of the game.
11087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH becoming the biggest leading cryptocurrency, Bitcoin has no future. on: July 20, 2017, 01:30:07 AM
Vitalik was reported to be dead, but found alive, ETH price dip.
Vitalik claims that there is Vitalik fake out there and scamming people. ETH price dip.
All the hype they created to push the price of ETH but didn't happened.
ETH will replaced bitcoin. But the so-called flippening didn't happened.

So how can ETH replaced bitcoin as the biggest leading crypto again?

11088  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather Vs McGregor: Info and prediction thread on: July 20, 2017, 12:53:01 AM
I don't agree on it being the biggest fight, I could think of a huge list of bigger fights between actual opponents rather than this WWE like game, How can a MMA fighter do a boxing match with someone who is so good at Boxing? This match is an offense to boxing and just proves how anything can happen for money/

I consider this as the biggest fight on our time.

And right now they are completely full force on promoting their fight. I don't know if their moves on stage are just scripted.

It's part of the business.
Whatever it is we already know this fight happens because of money and it could be a scripted fight just to entertain tha fans but I hope it will really happen because I would love to see for the first time an entertaining fight of mayweather.

This is what I've been thinking all the time, everything was staged.

And I'm basing on how they are acting when they are infront of the people during their presscon.

But this is exciting because they are making some noise.
I also believe this was staged. This is like Pacquiao vs Mayweather all over again.
Similar to the pacquiao vs mayweather, they had plenty of drama before they agreed to a fight.
Now this is happening again, and it seems like it is just another one of those mega hyped fights that may not live to expectations.

I don't believed its stage. Those two athletes have big ego's between them. I think the acting was more to do to hype the fight even more. Again, it will break all PPV records and those to two, especially McGregor will he rich as f**k. Maybe we will be disappointed on how the fight goes, but for me its not stage.
11089  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-07-18]Bitcoin, Ethereum Bounce Back Hard To Reach $2,400 and $240 on: July 19, 2017, 11:37:46 PM
Do people really think bitcoin will end after Aug 1? I think it will rise and that's why people who selling now at low prices will regret doing it.

Problem here is that people are infecting each other with non/false information. It has gone so far, that people let their pee go as soon as they think about everything that may or may not happen at the first of August. Let them sell as much as they want, because one thing is sure, they WILL buy back at far higher levels. They start with 1 BTC for example, and due to the selling at lower levels, and buying back at higher levels, they end up with 0.5 BTC. It's capital destruction, but they don't realize it yet.... Smart people get wealthier and wealthier, while idiots only see their wealth constantly shrink.
good point if those dumpers only realized it much earlier i think the value won't go down up to this limits they been tricked by the bag holders which
just shaking the market and make many fuds to scares investors perhaps we just needed to act wisely before making any decision watching the dump
with an open mind knowing that bounce back will happen next will let us safe in any harm of the whales.

Exactly and the most that have done that is those people that just went to bitcoin trading and think that they will gain a huge profit easily. Later realizing that it was not meant to be so they can choose to sell it without thinking that they are in the losing end of it. That's why we always heard that the 'weak hands are shaken' adage. Speculation FUD waves and the market reacts. Simply as that.
11090  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Should I fully drain out my BTC from Coinbase for Aug/1? on: July 19, 2017, 09:23:08 PM
I entered in world of blockchain a month ago, my holder is coinbase?
Will it hold both splits of BTC or should I go for personal ledger?

The best solution to your problem is to move your funds to a wallet that you have control over the private keys.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2017191.0

As per Theymos,

A very short summary of what you need to do:

1. Ensure that you have no BTC deposited with a Bitcoin bank or other trusted third-party before Aug 1. If there's no technical way for you to export the private keys for your BTC, then that BTC is at risk. Some Bitcoin banks may assure you that they'll definitely keep your BTC safe, but I absolutely wouldn't trust them.
2. Do not send transactions or trust received transactions starting 12 hours before Aug 1 at midnight UTC, and continue this until you hear the "all clear" from several trustworthy sources. For example, I will post a forum news item if everything is OK, or if everything is not OK and action is required.

See my guide here for more a lot more detail: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2012799.0
11091  Other / Off-topic / Re: Job Vs Bitcoin on: July 19, 2017, 04:45:46 PM
It depend on your situation. Let's say your job requires you to be in front of a computer then its would be easy for you to go on bitcoin. But if its not, then just focus on your current job and just save your money and to buy bitcoin. And if you want to quit your job, be sure you have enough funds for at least 6 months so that you can at least survived and sustained yourself.
11092  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's happening with crypto markets? on: July 19, 2017, 05:15:34 AM
It seems the uncertainty going further
segwit code was started to be run and it started to give signal

We could also see the price getting green as the uncertainty might go further.
Let s see if forking result better, crypto market ll be better

Yes, the segwit2x software was being implement since yesterday that's why we are seeing that bitcoin and ETH has already recover the dipping we have encountered the last few days. Really happy to see the market going green again. ETH is now almost 250$ while bitcoin is just above $2300. Really good gains and I hope the price will continue to rise. Easy profits for those who have bought when the price is low sometime ago.

It's funny that we needed a crash for them to start signalling. They were slacking, thinking it's fine as it is, but they saw that if things continue, by the end of the month they'll be paying more for electricity than they can afford. Shit, it's software update time!  Wink

Hahaha. Nice one. They are just waiting for the price of bitcoin to really drop, for all we know they also have a big invested on it. Its good that they take their shit together just in time otherwise we the price is still dipping as I typed. Let's commend this time and hope that this moved will bring a very positive impact to our ecosystem.
11094  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mayweather Vs McGregor: Info and prediction thread on: July 18, 2017, 09:06:01 PM
De La Hoya is 5'10'' and Floyd Mayweather gave him a boxing lesson and De La Hoya was a top ranked boxer.

Conor is 5'9'' and doesn't know how to box and has only fought bums that can't do any striking.

A lot of people thought De La Hoya beat Floyd & was robbed by the judges.

Even Floyd's dad said he thought De La Hoya won that fight.

Conor is 5'9. I think Floyd is 5'8. Floyd's frame is also thinner and less heavily muscled than Conor's.

Uncertain as to who the better athlete is. MMA is different with wrestling which leads to MMA fighters developing more core & leg strength than boxers.

Conor is constantly chewing gum during press conferences to exercise his jaw and strengthen it against punches. That's probably something many MMA fighters have never even heard of. Conor's base is boxing and in his early fights his boxing might have been better than it was during his early UFC fights.

Its really hard to make a technical analysis. No one has ever seen Conor box, seriously against a decent opponent and no one has seen a boxer like Floyd seriously box against an MMA fighter, before.

Floyd Mayweather won that fight, go see it again. I doubt Floyd Sr said that his son lost. It may have been when he had beef, I remember during a time Floyd Jr and Sr hated each other so he may have used that close decision to attack his son.

Diego Corrales was near 6 ft and Mayweather won too, and these are real boxers.

I think when Mayweather faces Dela Hoya, Oscar was the biggest draw that time. Of course a lot of people will see that Oscar has won. And If I'm not mistaken, Dela Hoya throws more punches but only a few landed on Mayweather as we all know he is a defensive specialist. While Floyd hit Oscar clean. Diego Corrales was a different ball game, Floyd was at his peak that time and God the reflexes he shows is amazing. Corrales (RIP) was the best super featherweight lineal champion that time and Floyd made him look likes an amateur. That is one of the best performance I have seen Floydie in my memory.
11095  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kraken don't want to send me back my money! on: July 18, 2017, 07:40:03 PM
Hello everybody,

I have 5 names (a first name, 3 secondary names and a last name) on my ID. In the everyday life I use only my first and my last names. For example, at the bank I'm inscribed with my first and last names. Kraken offer the possibility to write 3 names; therefore I wrote my first name, my first secondary name and my last name. I wanted to withdraw money from my account but Kraken wrote me that it is not possible because the 3 names from my account in Kraken do not correspond to those of my bank account (but they accept money from this bank account without any matter...).
Now no more communication is possible with Kraken. They don't answer me. I can only sell and buy but the money that I wanted to withdraw is hold.
Please, do you have any peace of advice?

Nothing you can do mate but to wait and see how Kraken will take your case. I have 2 first name myself. But I always used them in all of my transactions because I also have a bad experienced with it several years ago. Although sometimes the field is not enough for my first and secondary name, I still try to fill it in. My first name has 7 characters and secondary name has 6 middle name has 8 characters while last name has 5. So imagine every form that I filled with my complete name. LOL. I just hope your issues will be solved the soonest.
11096  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Webcam sex for bitcoins on: July 18, 2017, 07:08:41 PM
Dam you guys. I never thought bitcoin will fall for girls too, lols! I didn't know these services will someday accept the bitcoin as way of payment. Anyway it's good thing though as bitcoin will have more customer base and the miners will have more work to do. Any suggestions with good cams, I'm seeing all the milf over there.

LOL. You didn't know that bitcoin has already encompasses a lot of industry including porn. I'm pretty sure you know about Legends Room, they used to have a signature campaign here. And they still have facebook and twitter campaign as of the moment. And we all know than porn is a billion dollar industry and bitcoin wants to be part of it. Smiley. However, I'm not into porn and don't want  to waste my hard earn bitcoin.
11097  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Being Unemployed Drives People to go to Bitcoin on: July 18, 2017, 06:46:33 PM
I can see this happening because it doesn't take any skills or having an education to be able to obtain it.
It is all internet money or cryptocurrency as the people online like to call it.
So all you need is a data plan to hold, obtain and use it. Undecided

Correct. Bitcoin had this kind of ability to give benefits to people who are either unemployed or lack some skills or having an education. I think the OP has made a good moved helping her sister. Also, you may want her to teach how to earn fiat as well. There are a lot of freelancing sites that gives opportunity to others as well. The only drawback I'm seeing is that once your sister has earn bitcoin, she may not look for stable job. Just informed her that bitcoin earning is not stable and they should look for a stable job at least to better support them.

You have a point on drawback of bitcoin. I know a lot of bitcoiners that actually do rely on bitcoin as a means of salary, which for me is a mistake. They shouldn't consider bitcoin earning as fixed income. If they are going to rely on signature campaign, then its not enough because we all know that usually its just a month or less campaign. Well there is other campaign that is long running, but its hard to get in because it is already filled in by most seniors members or others who have been here too long in the forum.
11098  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price Increasing today on: July 18, 2017, 06:01:35 PM
Thankful for that. I did not expect the current rise of bitcoin to happen so fast, I thought the price would decrease more severely, but it did not. Well, I hope the price will not fall below $ 2000 anymore, because it could cause people like me to panic  Cheesy

The drastic price increased today was really unexpected. When I woke up and checked the price, I'm very happy because I didn't panic and just sold my coins. I just hold and believing that the price can recover which proved correct. I'm not nervous even if bitcoin fall again, because it will again rise as what have been displayed today. Just hold and cruise on Aug 1.
11099  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-07-18] $7 Million Lost in CoinDash ICO Hack on: July 18, 2017, 02:22:23 AM
An initial coin offering (ICO) for a little-know startup project called CoinDash was abruptly halted today when it was revealed the sale had been compromised shortly after it began.

In total, the ICO was able to raise $7.53m before the ethereum address it was using to solicit funds was altered to a fake one by an unidentified hacker, resulting in the ether going to another source.

At the time of publication, the CoinDance website has been shut down, and the project is asking investors who have been affected to submit information to the provided link to collect the CoinDash token (CDT) they should be rewarded through the sale.

Full Article

This will have a lot of bearing specially that there are a lot of ICO that is popping around the corner. If investors read this then they will have doubts in investing in an ICO. I don't know how investors now can recover their investment and I hope that the company can give them the tokens they bought. Let this be a lesson to all other ICO out there to really secure their funds because hackers are really targeting the crypto world because of the huge amount of money involved.

Edit: Here's the official ANN thread of CoinDash and its indeed they are confirming that there is a hacked.

11100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Use Social Media for Bitcoin on: July 18, 2017, 01:47:16 AM
So recently I was using this app called Instagram (in case some of you never heard of it) and I posted some pictures & videos related to Bitcoin on my Instagram Stories (Like that day when the price goes insanely high and keep going til now). Then 2 days ago some of my friends suddenly asked me about what Bitcoin is & how could the price goes up like that. And I was surprisingly glad to know that I've influenced some people to get to know Bitcoin. And then I introduced them to Bitcoin and answer their questions about it, there were 3 people asking about Bitcoin that day just because of this 1 post.

I mean why don't we just use this power of social media to make people aware about this Cryptocurrency, well I know that there are already some people doing this (like those YouTube channels).
But what I'm talking about here is to us to post something about Bitcoin on our social media, you can just at least post something like your first transaction with Bitcoin and share your story on your Facebook or take the picture of your book that you just bought from the internet using your Bitcoin and then post it on your Twitter.

Don't be afraid to share your experience, you won't get hurt by doing it!(at least not now)

Social Media sites is a good way on spreading some information(facts) and also it can spread false information. Many people are afraid to know and use it. Because they think that bitcoin is an illegal thing it is because it uses in some deep web sites for buying drugs, illegal weaponry etc. But you have a good point that you use yourself as a tool to open the mind of others about bitcoin.

Social Media is a very power tool on that will help us spread the news about bitcoin. But I have't done it because my friends would think that I'm posting about that something that has a negative connotation. That's why I don't want to used my Facebook account, we can discuss it if we met in person and we can talk about bitcoin for as long as they want. But I will stay quiet with it in my Twitter or Facebook or any other social media account of mine.
