11101  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Got my ROI some days ago... on: April 14, 2015, 09:57:35 PM
This is a typical early investor ROI from Ponzi mining scheme, before they go tits up and leave scenario.

Look at his screencap, it's a 5 year contract with no out it seems.   No chance this service lasts 5 years.

On the website it shows 12 months, and what looks like some sort of generic Bitcoin mine:

They say their mines is located in South America and Asia, that they have access to cheap electricity, and create their own custom miners, but this is the first I've heard of this outfit, and something about them just doesn't smell legit.

Just don't trust this outfit for some reason.  Something's off.

Came here to post exactly that... Maybe the first users who ROI'd are just some kind of bait. This company clearly has some red flags... As with every other cloud provider!

If you look at "proof"  it really is just a letter looking item.  I don't think it proves anything.  I think unless OP provides bitcoin address that "roi'ed" from this company, he is most likely linked to this cloud mining company.

11103  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Unofficial Spondoolies SP20 thread on: April 14, 2015, 09:33:46 PM
So.. I moved my Spondoolies

I boot up 6, 3 come online
3 blink yellow twice. one of the 3 eventually came online.
The other two eventually move to blinking green. than eventually rapid blink between yellow and green.

No idea what they are doing? All I can find is that two yellow means IP found?

They are on a switch, on a 100ft cat5 cable. 3 came on. 4 tops. I can't possibly imagine I'm overloading the line.

Help please?

Do you have any kind of network wire tester?  I use them on mine to check if line is bad.

I have ran a 50ft cable with no issue on bitcoin mining.  Have not tried 100ft myself but as long as wire is ok I can't think it should have a issue.
11104  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mining Requirements on: April 14, 2015, 09:30:22 PM
what , you through a dedicated server is needed to  mine bitcoin , nah , you just need a powerful Gpu , or
Asic hardware that will be more powerful mining bitcoin and also more cheap .

GPU day's are really over for most.  Even with cheap electricity you need an asic not a GPU rig.

Even if you run at a profit I don't see any way to ROI on a GPU rig anymore.
11105  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 4.1 Miner- Summer Mining - Notlist3d on: April 14, 2015, 09:06:02 PM
Been testing 3 for a little less then 24 hours.  So far running great as far as stability.  Again I am using a Raspberry Pi to control them, it is working out great.

More to come I have been documenting this from unpacking till now.
11106  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Greetings from South-Africa on: April 14, 2015, 08:52:55 PM
Hi there and welcome!
It would be a great achievement if people would actually use bitcoin to pay eg. groceries, smaller trades p2p, ... even more then something like mining. Could mining be profitable in SA? Is electricity expensive there?
I really like your project and wish you all the luck!

Well, my partner and CO Founder of our company Bitmagnet, is a very very strong believer in the mining aspect, and if one could provide him with a good ventilated cooled housing area with power he would go wild, he already has a fair amount of hashing power.

I think, putting aside shipping and import costs including the customs charges, if you could have the miners drop from helicopter into the data center today, and plug them in to work 24/7 then yes, I think it would be greatly profitable. Power cost and cost per kwh is low here yes compared to US/EU or whatever the case may be. My experience from speaking to other local guys and looking at numbers is this:

The purchase/shipment/import/customs cost of your miners from abroad to SA, completely destroys your ROI that you had planned, so the numbers looked good on paper, but then gets wiped out, you will eventually break even and then start profiting but at what risk and how long will that take?

We can't really do the math on this one.  We would have to know exact costs.  It sounds very very expensive on importing from hat you said.  Also it will never ROI is my feeling if you "miners drop from helicopter into the data center".  I have never heard of using a helicopter to move miners.  Always trucks.

I am guessing mining might not be optimal in your situation.

I feel like this thread belongs in the Service Announcements subforum (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=84) - you'll get way more attention there.

Most likely it does belong in there.  But a lot of owners post it here hoping to get beginners to use their faucet.

Referrals are where the money is at on faucets.

i can't click reset button.

very Clumsy place. Sad  Cheesy

Make sure you have tried to find it before you reset it.   But if you have to reset you will need to use a paperclip or pen to hit the button in most cases, and make sure you read how to do it properly.

i everithing try . needle, paperclip other  Roll Eyes

but i may once click button , long time can't click .

other way don't exist ?

from where i know what ip have s3 ?
i don't want it reset button

You have to do a certain way with reset.  Search reset on this page - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=697474.0

Keep in mind your miner did break a metal fin in shipping so we still cannot say if it somehow was damaged from a hard hit.   Or if following this will help.
11109  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Got my ROI some days ago... on: April 14, 2015, 08:42:49 PM
Achieving an ROI with Bitcoin cloud mining is not impossible these days, but it is very rare.
If you do have the option of reselling the purchasing mining power, you will have a better chance at ROI [earlier].

A lot of it depends on the company, the hardware they use (self-produced or not) and how they can buy electricity (in bulk, self-sustained or otherwse).

Congratulations though, happy for you Smiley

This one is selling it at price of hardware basically.  I would like to see some real proof such btc address that received payments.

I think if just one sheet shown it's possible OP is with this site.  And I could be wrong just a feeling I have.
11110  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to make money on bitcointalk? on: April 14, 2015, 04:14:03 PM

webcam?

I'm guessing your joking.  On all seriousness best way is signature campaign if you don't want to spend money and do post you would normally.

With time/and or effort the services are a good option.  Assuming you have a skill.
11111  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: April 14, 2015, 04:10:26 PM
Glad it works!  Yea next time if you have a choice ask for original box.  It's possibly one of the best designed boxes on cardboard surrounding the SP20.  They put some time/thought into it.
I haven't seen the boxes for the SP-20, but if it's anything like the ones for the SP-31/35, I would agree. Those boxes are awesome, perfect fit and sturdy as hell.  I saved those for sure for if/when I need to ship mine out in the future.

I keep saying these are the bets built ready to rock miners on the market. Period.

In my short time to mess with bitcoin mining, ( I go all out or not at all) I got antminers, spondoolies and some other smaller rigs.
Spondoolies is by far the best built and easiest to manage out of the box , antminers are second.

The design of the S5 really is poor IMO unless you're in a data center and have adequate cooling and no noise issues. For home mining it's poor.
IMO the S3/S3+ are much better designs, even though they have less hash rate and less efficiency.

Spondoolies, you can adjust to low hash rates while sipping tiny aounts of electricity and set eth fan to low where even in close proximity it is not even as loud as an S3.

There is no doubt about it they are great miners.  I love my SP gear.   And I will stick with my story of best designed box.

They are only company I have seen use cardboard designed for it, vs some plastic packing holding it.

But some people like to not download any file as they belive it could break their privacy and anonymity.
I'd also be in for reading it online instread of downloading pdf Smiley

Why not the OP upload that file at mediafire, post a link here for us and we download it using services like Hidemyass or Hidemyip, or any other VPN service???

Ok ok, i uploaded it to mediafire, you can read it there online, are you satisfied now guys ?  Cheesy

If you care about anonymity then just use Tor.

Enjoy reading it!

Honestly you will get more views with it online.  Chances of a lot of us downloading .pdf files is slim.

Anytime someone wants a file on my computer, and is completely against putting it on a website just makes me wonder.  I of-course am looking at worst case scenario.  I just find very weird to say I'm doing PDF only.
11114  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: s3 problem , why moving ? on: April 14, 2015, 03:36:57 PM
Your IP for your PC is 192.168.0.100,that is the IPV4.

Your default gateway is 192.168.0.1 (modem or router).

You need to change the miner to your subnet, 192.168.0.110 should work. The 0 is YOUR subnet, the miner is on a 1 subnet, you won't see it until you switch it to 0.Even the router/modem may not see it,but you get to it by your browser.

You will need to change your PC IP to 192.168.1.100 ,S3's default IP is 192.168.1.99.So unplug your PC ethernet from the router/modem & plug it into the miner.

Now just follow those instructions to change your PC to 192.168.1.101.

Now you can type 192.168.1.99 in a browser & change the miner to YOUR subnet,192.168.0.110(under network tab WAN section, use the edit button & save). When your done, plug the miner into your router(shut the miner off for 30 seconds & power it back up to make the changes stick).

& reset your PC to back to your subnet (192.168.0.100) & plug the ethernet back in the router. Then you should be able to type 192.168.0.110 & it should be there.

If you get a new router I'm not sure if it will be 192.168.1 or 0.Since your modem is a 0 subnet I'd assume it would still be a 0 subnet,I'm not an expert network guru.

Its is confusing, glad I never had to do it,Good Luck!!  Wink

Thats assuming seller did not change it.  A lot of times it was ran with a different IP and you need to look at device list.

I know when I sold my S3's I wrote instructions for my buyers with the IP address.  Made support on ebay auctions so much easier.
11115  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Got my ROI some days ago... on: April 14, 2015, 03:33:29 PM
any chance you`d share some screen caps op?

or the return on your ROI that you mentioned, because thats a gamble. I never heard of the site as well, but hey if you got your ROI back then more power to you. I have a sense its a ponzi though but on a higher level.

there is a screen in the previous page but i'm still skeptical, because the amount he invested is too low, and with low amount the things are different, i mean i does not make sense to scam with such amount, they are waiting for big fish to do it seriously

otherwise if they are legit, they are very profitablel, perhaps i'll try a low amoun too to see if it work

I find it more then skeptical.  It's hard to believe they could sell a year for the price of the machine only.  They would have to have no electricity or any costs to make money.

Every cloudmine site that is at this level on low payment I would not go into business with.
11116  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Beginner miner need advice please on: April 14, 2015, 03:31:11 PM
You take the $6k, and hold it in cash. Put it into a money market account or something similar that has a established a 1% yield, then come back with the profit to buy bitcoin.

You never want to spend a huge principal just for a gamble, hoping to go up cause what if it doesnt? can you read the future? despite the bitcoin events etc.

What bank offers a annual yield at 1%?

It definitely is not my savings account I know that.  I think there are some legit web banks that offer higher savings accounts though.

And always make sure you pick one that is FDIC insured.   That is VERY important.
11117  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin Mining 1btc a month? on: April 14, 2015, 03:29:16 PM
with the electricity its not possible to buy a solar generator and generate with them electricity?

Or a small wind turbine depending if your location favours one of these.  I just sold my home mining gear yesterday. It was 3.2TH and generated just under 1BTC per month.  Sold because it's just not worth it.

It's the setup cost that makes it so hard.  Could they do it, sure.  But cost compared to regular electricity just makes it not practical to do.
11118  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool on: April 14, 2015, 03:27:28 PM
I finally had to quit using this pool due to it dying too much. For now I have switched to f2pool as my primary. Will check back in a few months to see if this pool has been fixed and has reliable uptime. Good luck BITMAIN.

It is sad my miner's keep dying aswell.  Some find it alive and others dont after.

Please help Bitmain.

If the j/gh ratio is real, this is gonna be a game changer!  Grin

If it's true it will definitely change some things. That's a really nice ratio.
11120  Other / Off-topic / Re: High voltage device creates an anti-gravity effect on: April 14, 2015, 07:06:19 AM
It is really neat to watch.  I as lucky enough to see it once in person from someone who knew what they were doing.  They used a old CRT to power it (very dangerous dont try at home).

It hovers higher then you think it would to.
