Very sad to see Ibrahimovic not being able to play in the next match.

The referee was horrible, I guess he pulled the red card because the Chelsea players jumped on him loudly. It was a yellow card at most.
11122  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [03-12-2015] China now Controls Bitcoin - CryptoCoinsNews.com on: March 12, 2015, 03:45:21 PM
No surprise at all, but also nothing to be afraid of.

If you had a closer look at the total hashpower that the Chinese pools were gaining then you could have seen this comming a far while ago.

Money leads everything. They are buying and investing as much as they can in equipment without having to worry a lot about power costs.

I can see them getting probably 90% of the total network if they keep growing with current speed.
11123  Economy / Speculation / Re: You will HODL until?...... on: March 12, 2015, 03:24:20 PM
I most likely will hold it for ever.

Some one once said : Bitcoin will either succeed or be worthless one day.  I will take the first option.

Of course I will sell a few Bitcoins if the price is interesting enough, but I will never sell more than one third of my stash.

Me too 1Referee, even if they don't count here.  Smiley

Yeah, Bitmixer should have excluded posts in this thread from day 1.

Look now, far less 'thank you, payment received' posts  Cheesy

Saw a rummor that United is set to sell Di Maria to Barcelona and buy Pedro instead. You know something about that?

Can't imagine Barcelona is willing to buy Di Maria in current form.

Pedro on the other hand will most likely play next season in England. Not sure if that will be for United.
11128  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoins ever going to get rid of fiat? on: March 11, 2015, 01:21:47 PM
Nothing will replace fiat. Current world economy is build on fiat currency.

If you still think this will happen then you should wake up and stop dreaming.

Bitcoin is good without replacing fiat, they can work together where needed. It's not a battle.

Reddit Adds Bitcoin Payments to Merchandise Store

you wonder why it took so long, that should have been a done deal by anyone 2 years ago

Better late than never, I always say.

The article also states that people wanted reddit to adopt some altcoins as well. Which I can't understand.

Who needs an altcoin as payment method when you have Bitcoin. Doesn't make sense.

Ouch!!

with that mentality why stop there; who needs cryptocurrency at all if you have fiat,
who needs fiat if you have gold, heck who needs gold if you have salt, ... you get the point

Reddit has far more Altcoin constituents than btc constituents so the suggestion may have
political component to it as well.

If doge and ltc are the CCs driving the CC discourse at Reddit why did they get btc
in the first place?   Only because it's #1.

Altcoins will fade away at some point.

The altcoin economy is full of nonsense and gamblers hoping it will get pumped to secure a profit. It has no future perspective at all.

Bitcoin offers everything you need and is future proof. Only look at how much investors are willing to invest in it, that says enough.

It gets used by more and more merchants every day as form of payment, and these numbers are growing day by day.
11130  Economy / Economics / Re: EUR might drop below USD on: March 11, 2015, 01:00:42 PM
It's pure shit seeing your currency get worth less and less.

And it will only gets worse if they keep feeding Greece billions of our money for nothing.

Some days ago I checked the rate, and it was 1.11 and today it dipped even below 1.06....

I never thought I would say this, but I am soo glad I converted a good bit of my EUR into USD a year ago at ~1.3X

Real Madrid is through to the next round but not without damage.

If they play like this and face Barcelona or Bayern in the Champions League they will get knocked out.
11133  Economy / Speculation / Re: OMG Its soon going to be $300 on: March 10, 2015, 09:47:42 PM
Its been a steady rise from 220 more or less, without any major correction. I dont know, i like the price going up, but it seams a bit unrealistic,
i made my prediction and sold, if im right, ill be able to rebuy lower, it has to drop and take a breath sooner or later, if not then buyback at loss it is.

cheers
I don't think that major corrections in bitcoin world are too often. Although when we have corrections we suddenly drop down by 50% or more.

I dont mean major correction as in insane drop of 50% or anything, but atleast to 250$. I think the price will continue to rise after correction, but this straight rise doesnt make much sence to me anymore,
since there were no real beartraps..
And with all the recent news flushed in peoples faces, it seams artificial to me, but i may very well be wrong in the end.

cheers

I think it will relax above the $300 level within a few days.

Waiting for $250 level is not really an ideal situation as it most likely won't happen.

Realistically $275 is the temporary bottom I expect, if it goes down any time soon.
11134  Economy / Services / Re: Up to 0.035 BTC weekly for YOUR SIGNATURE *New rules on: March 10, 2015, 09:40:09 PM
0.7 mBTC per just isn't what it used to be.

As far as I know this is the highest rate Bitmixer has ever paid.

I love Bitmixer signature campaign because of the freedom you get and it's fully automated.

Pay rates are decent enough for me to stay with Bitmixer for as long as it exists.

And yes, I know I could get higher rates elsewhere. But still I prefer Bitmixer  Smiley
11135  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-03-07] CCN: Asset Forfeiture as an Attack Against Bitcoin on: March 10, 2015, 01:07:09 PM
If you secure your coins properly, no one can access them without your permission. Bitcoin is very different from traditional assets (they just take it without your permission) in this regard.

Obviously an authority could threaten you with all kinds of stuff from imprisonment to torture in order to obtain your permission.

Bitcoin is a step in the right direction.
Actually, with the right precautions, you can secure your coins so well that that can't be extracted from you even via torture.

Here's an example of one way to do it:

  • Create an offline Armory wallet
  • Print an m-of-n paper backup of that wallet (including verifying, double-, and triple-checking that the wallet can be restored from the fragments!)
  • Securely erase the digital copy of the wallet (except for the watching-only copy)
  • Disperse the fragments among people you trust, ideally who live in diverse countries/continents
  • Put your longest-term savings in that wallet

If you don't have a widely-dispersed network of friends who you'd trust with your life (savings), this strategy won't work and you'll need to use a different one.

You know the saying friends are your worst enemy?

I would never trust anyone with my life savings, even not my family.

Money makes people do weird things, no matter if they are friends or family.

Best is to keep every detail regarding backup-security-access only for yourself.
11136  Economy / Speculation / Re: When Will The Uptrend End on: March 10, 2015, 01:00:19 PM
I think it will advance to around $325-$350 level before it will slowly go down again.

Can't really see it going higher than $400 level this year. Of course I hope I'm wrong, but that's what I think.

11137  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Damn trading bots on: March 10, 2015, 12:47:37 PM
I'm not sure if it is just 1 person or a group running these bots.

But these $5 $6 orders have been popping up and filling the orderbook for quite some time now.

Has not much to do with having zero fee's at the moment, they have been there also in 2014.
11138  Economy / Economics / Re: Greece now targets tax evaders! next step cyprus style! on: March 09, 2015, 04:13:40 PM
Weirder things will happen in Greece. It's just the beginning. People there start to realize that their money isn't safe.

Greece banks are losing hundreds of millions of euro's every week, because people are trying to empty their bank accounts before the Greece government does it for them.

You work your entire life to save yourself a good bit of money and still it's not fully yours.

If was a Greece citizen, then I would definitely dump some of my money into Bitcoin. With Bitcoin you can say "I finally OWN my money!"
11139  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-03-09] CS - Apple Watch Event: Will The Upconing Device Influence Bitcoin? on: March 09, 2015, 03:20:53 PM
Quite a weird article. I can't see how in any way this more than expensive watch will influence Bitcoin.

Some times writers don't have much to write about it seems.  Roll Eyes
11140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yesterday I helped this Leeds cafe / cyrstal shop with a way to accept bitcoin on: March 09, 2015, 03:08:11 PM
Very cool, however, unfortunately it doesn't work like this in 99.9% of the cases.

Many more merchants might be willing to give Bitcoin a try, if they (at least at first) can have it automatically converted to fiat, and don't have to deal with Bitcoin technicalities (wallet apps, protecting/storing/backing up their coins, etc). Botherhing them with wallet apps, transactions, daily rates, and whatnot, can actually scare more merchants away than getting them aboard (with this cool cafe and shop owner as a positive but rare exception).

There are plenty of very easy payment providers through which even the most reluctant, non-tech-savvy merchant can easily accept Bitcoin, free of charge, free of risk, free of hassle.

Don't get me wrong, of course I'm all pro merchants directly accepting (and keeping) bitcoins without any 3rd party middle men or conversion to fiat. But in all honesty, that's not realistic as of yet in most situations.

Yes I understand all this. I've said to them if you find you're collecting too many bitcoins, then I'll set them up with Bitpay so they can convert it straight into pounds.

For a merchant who has started accepting Bitcoin very recently it is much better to set up something like BitPay from the start. Especially regarding taxes.

If you sell something for example for $20, and you register it for $20 in your finances, you won't be happy that at some point the value of the coins you hold drop to $15.

That's why it's very important to get things done right. Other than that, much respect for you!
