4th best = weeds

Weeds is shit, but you do realise you'll probably get banned for spamming by making four unnecessary posts in a row?

I seriously doubt that this forum have monstrous mods.

No, but they have ones that ban spammers. Between 20-30 people were banned over the weekend just for spamming, and for far less than what 'cryptogirl' is doing.

Doubt she will get banned, but could have very easily put all those shows into one post.   Weeds seasons 1 and 2 were good...after that they ran the show into the ground with terrible writing...

It's a guy, and it's not just those posts but all the other spam too. I've only seen the first three seasons of Weeds, but I thought they were pretty shitty. Really mediocre on all fronts, not to mention pretty far-fetched and unbelievable plots.

Why are you glad it was banned? Do you think books should be banned too or not believe in freedom of speech? Banning stuff, especially films, is pointless and I don't think they have any right to withhold people from seeing it no matter how disgusting or in bad taste it is.

Normally I am against censorship. I am even OK with extreme stuff such as Bestiality. But this is stretching that limit too far. New-born porn? The word itself makes me nauseate.

Ok with it? You seem to be a fan of it  Grin. So fucking or pretending to fuck an animal is fine, but pretending to fuck a baby is no-no?

A division within the Department of Defense is investigating whether the digital currency bitcoin is a possible terrorist threat.

Keyword possible. I'd be surprised if they weren’t going to or already haven’t investigated it in some capacity. They need to know if it's a tool that can be used against them. I think Bitcoin has certain aspects that can be taken advantage of nefariously, but then so does cash. It'll be interesting to see what they deduce.
11146  Economy / Services / Re: [ANN] [FREE ESCROW SERVICE] on: May 05, 2014, 10:41:15 AM
You need to build your reputation up first before you offer escrow services. These things take time to build up enough trust before people will let you hold their money.

Thank you, please advise a method to build it apart from offering such a service and I will consider it Smiley

Do other trades. Offer loans. Buy and sell things. Help people out and become a familiar name on the forum. At the moment you don't seem to have any feedback at all, so trusting you is just as risky as trusting anybody else. At the moment there would be just as much risk as not using an escrow at all at this point. And as kickbit said, there are plenty of other escrows from highly trusted users that people can use, so trusting and using you currently would probably defeat the actual purpose of an escrow.

Thank you for your advise. I will consider it.
However I still believe there are times when my service wold come into force as I myself have been in a position to look for escrow from trusted members, where, of course, I would prefer before anything else. But if you need fast escrow and you can not find best members you would probably go for the next best option which is some middle-layer user like me. As I have spend half an year on this forum and have more than 600 posts it is still not the same as using newbie or not using an escrow. However, I do agree I am not the looking as the best choice on the top of the column, that's why I am applying 0% fee to the service.

But thanks again for your input anyway. I will consider it and as I said I must agree with your points. My service stays open for anyone willing to use it.

Offering a zero% fee may look like a red flag though. It does in my eyes. I'm not saying you have intentions to scam or doubt that your intentions are just, but offering a free service is irrelevant really when users are trusting you 100% with their money. I'd forget offering an escrow right now and concentrate on building up some feedback first. Spending half a year on this forum isn't that long considering we've got highly trusted Hero Members who have been here years offering escrow services, some of them for free as well (though they seem to welcome and appreciate tips). If you're serious about this then spend another half a year trying to get some green trusted feedback and I think that'll go a long way.
11147  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best movies like "The wolf of wallstreet"? on: May 05, 2014, 10:33:12 AM
These posts/recommendations may be of interest to you:

Recently watched the Wolf of Wall Street (obviously) then decided to watch the 1987 'Wall Street' too, and then Boiler Room. Might have to watch American Psycho too. You have to appreciate these for what they are  Smiley

Blood Diamond is another I watched not too long ago; that's a really good film.

Blood Diamond also stars Leo but I wouldn't say it's that similar or comparable to Wolf, but I recommend it.

These might have been mentioned already (this thread has too many posts cant read them all) But if you like financial movies:

  • Wallstreet
  • Boiler Room
  • Wall st 2
  • Margin Call
  • Glengarry Glen ross

This list is good...  it needs the addition of "Too Big To Fail" and obviously "Wolf of Wall Street."   "American Psycho" almost fits in...
11148  Other / Off-topic / Re: Movie Recommendation Station on: May 05, 2014, 10:29:59 AM
I can say some cool movies:
Fast and Furious (all parts) - but for me original are only those with Paul and Vin together.
Cast Away
Brave Heart
Taken - both parts
Gladiator
The next Three days
Predator (all parts)
Die Hard - all parts

Here people you have older and newer clasics, I can say more movies, but I guess then will be at least 40-50 of them haha.

The last Die Hard film was terrible. First Taken was good but second wasn't. There's a third one in the works I think.

Who they gonna kidnap in Taken next? His dog?  Cheesy And Die Hard 5 was terrible. I enjoyed most of the others though.
11149  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Sr Member Account For Sale [.6 BTC OBO] on: May 05, 2014, 10:28:38 AM
The price is still quiet high as there is always risk involved in accounts transactions. Good luck

I don't think there's any way to recover a Bitcointalk account once the email and security questions are changed. They both need to be done by the owner of the account. PM'ing a staff member or admin would probably seal the deal, as most likely Escrow will already be invloved. But if you're security questions and email are changed, there's nothing you can do to recover your account.

Incorrect. The easiest way to get an account back is to sign an address that was associated to that account, which then proves it's actually yours. There's no foolproof method of buying an account really. A level of either trust or ignorance is going to be involved.

Then you're going to have the person watching the operation in his little security room jacking off to his hearts content and putting the videos online when he gets home.

May be the video could be pixellated before it is shown to the security officer? Also there are several ways to prevent the data from being copied. Still.. none of the measures are 100% risk-free.

Who pixilates it? Another pervert in another room?  Grin There are plenty of ways to prevent people from ripping dvds or pirating films from the cinema, but they're obviously not that effective.
11151  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Islamic law is adopted by British legal chiefs on: May 05, 2014, 10:22:42 AM
Anti-Islamic plebs aren't exactly going to be happy about are they? Simple solution is to not eat there and take your custom elsewhere. I'm sure there'll be a Subway restaurant within walking distant that doesn't serve Halal anyway.

I don't think that people who are opposed to eating halal meat would ever again dine in any of the Subway restaurants (i.e the ones which serves non-halal items). The reputation is lost.

Depends on their level of Islamaphobia or their hatred of animal cruelty. But most plebs won't really care and will just go along because they're ignorant and don't like Muslims, but they'll still probably go home and hypocritically have a kebab at the end of the day. And I don't see how Subway's reputation would be lost. Subway is a franchise and each business owner is free to serve halal or non-Halal meat just as people are free not to eat at that particular franchise.
11152  Other / Politics & Society / Re: You Can Smell Someone’s Gender, Says Science on: May 05, 2014, 10:15:43 AM
I have a friend who is what you could call asexual. He never showed any interest in women (or men); originally we thought he was just an extremely shy tech-nerd type (he grew up mostly in the company of computers and very few friends), but eventually we discovered he didn't use any porn either.

Later I learned that when he was very small he had a severe nose infection which made him lose his sense of smell completely, and I believe it is very much related to his lack of interest in sex. I guess not being able to sense any scent just blocks your libido. Of course this could be just a happy coincidence but I do think there is a correlation.

I usually find people who claim to be asexual genuinely aren’t and there's other things going on for his/her lack of apparent sexdrive, or they're just lying about it. And ow do you know he doesn't watch porn? I think a few of my mates have denied in the past that they don't watch porn, but I know that they're liars  Cheesy.

What are the odds that MH370 will be the next big conspiracy theory?

It already is the next big conspiracy. Even if they find the plane and have conclusive evidence of what actually happened to it, conspiracy theorists will do their conspiring and still say there's a cover up or whatever.

East Lancs twitter storm over 'halal' subs

FAST food giant Subway has come under fire for removing ham and bacon from outlets, and switching to halal meat alternatives at stores across the country, including East Lancashire. This week people have taken to Twitter calling for a boycott of the chain, and protests have been organised for this weekend outside outlets nationwide.

Didn't someone already create a thread exactly like this? There's at least a post in one of the movie threads. Just look on IMDB for similar films, but I think Boiler Room was one mentioned, but I doubt any of the older films will captivate you as much as Wolf did.
11159  Other / Off-topic / Re: Worst Movies You Have Ever Watched on: May 05, 2014, 09:35:39 AM
I remember hearing about this movie on the radio. It was pretty awkward listening to someone talk about raping a newborn while I was eating breakfast. He didn't even mention it was a movie... But yeah, I think this movie got alot of media attention because of how controversial it was.

I was glad to hear that the film was banned in more than a dozen countries, such as  Spain, Finland, Portugal, France, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Norway and Singapore. Still, they showed the film in the US.

Why are you glad it was banned? Do you think books should be banned too or not believe in freedom of speech? Banning stuff, especially films, is pointless and I don't think they have any right to withhold people from seeing it no matter how disgusting or in bad taste it is.

Is very interesting, but I still don't know how to calculate the activity
 Shocked

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=495948.0

What don't you get? You get a max of 14 activity points every two week period. Next period starts on the 29th and you'll get another max of 14 then as long as you make 14 posts. Once your post count is much higher than your activity you only need to make one post and you'll get the full 14 points.
thanks for that. very good explanation if you are indeed correct.

It's correct but the next period now starts on the 13th and then every two weeks after that.
