11162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does the blockchain ultimately have more potential? on: August 01, 2016, 11:17:10 AM
Some will be private and centrally maintained, while others will be open and public.
I generally disagree with most private 'implementations' of this technology. A private database system loses the intrinsic values that a blockchain has, e.g. immutability, censorship resistance and whatnot. I think that the banks are trying to paint a picture in which centralized implementations of blockchain technology can be similar to, if not superior to, decentralized ones.

Blockchain technology seems the best which doesn't have specific usage. It can be used in most of the sectors with small variations.
I'm going to assume that you randomly used the wording "small variations" in this context.

But imho a bockchain is only good if it is decentralized.
Correct. It loses several aspects that give value to Bitcoin as soon as it loses its decentralization. Just imagine if Bitcoin was centralized, it would just be a inefficient system of transferring value.

All that information that you need can be found by reading the sticky thread within this section (updating, ranks & restrictions): Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?).

Update: He did not specifically say that he had read the stickied thread.

11166  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Still unconfirmed Transaction after 12 hours on: August 01, 2016, 08:38:03 AM
if you have delay on confirm, then i think the fee is lower than the others. i think its normally when we have got delay until 12 hours. i have experience in 24 hours without confirming, but at least i receive my bitcoin with safe into my wallet.
That's nonsense. There is no normal delay for Bitcoin. The only acceptable delay is under 1 hour (sometimes there are periods in which there is no block for quote some time). You are improperly using Bitcoin or extremely cheap and do not need quick transactions.

so maybe we need to wait and just positive thinking that traffic of the transaction is heavy than we know.
It doesn't matter what the actual transaction volume is since there are people (with money) who can and who are actively spamming the network.

Such transaction delay happens only at very rare instance.
No. It will most likely always happen if you don't adjust your fees accordingly.

thats what i thought.. is there anyway that these type of sites have a builtin calculator to calculate how much the fee should be or theres no way to detect exact transaction fee?
A lot of services are already doing it, I don't see how it'll be hard.
One just needs two numbers, recommended fee in satoshis/byte and the size of their transaction. I'd say it's a fairly simple calculation.
11167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another closed door Core - Chinese miners meeting on: August 01, 2016, 08:07:38 AM
I am a optimist and I think any communication is better than no communication, even if this is behind closed doors.
Optimist? Then you have a very wrong and naive view of the world. A closed-door meeting should be among the things that are frowned upon by the Bitcoin community.

It would be better if it was open to the public, but then open communication would be stopping some people from genuine constructive inputs, because they will play the camera and not the topic at hand.
There's really no way in which a closed-doors meeting is better than an open one. Even just posting some live updates via twitter or reddit would be much better than what we have now.

Let's see how this turns out, before we start to pull out the pitchforks and start throwing the stones.
There are already people doing that at /r/btc.
11168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Andreas Antonopoulos aims to expand influence among Chinese community on: August 01, 2016, 07:42:22 AM
Below is the link to Andrea's AMA on 8btc.
http://8btc.com/thread-36622-1-1.html
I've skimmed through a few pages using a translator. His answers are very well written.

Some OP said that AA was an actor and expressed discontent with his position on supporting Core Dev.
http://8btc.com/thread-37138-1-1.html
That's most certainly not the case. From what I've gathered, he's not discontent with the positions and feels like that's the market's decision (to support Core).

Here is the link to my thread, which links to the English translation of the AMA.

I'll check it out later, thanks for posting that.
11169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another closed door Core - Chinese miners meeting on: August 01, 2016, 05:40:36 AM
Not this again. Don't they know that these kind of meetings are actually counter-intuitive when it comes to Bitcoin? I'd understand it, and it would be a big problem if it was transparent.

Well it looks its going to be informative meeting (no deals anymore), so hopefully no misunderstandings anymore.
How could you expect that when there's an entire subreddit dedicated to spreading false information (most of the time)? They've started another wave of attack since the HK agreement was breached by Core according to them (even though some of the miners broke it very early one).

I've just noticed that the link seems to be dead now. Roll Eyes
