You cannot dilute the situation by saying it was bad luck, it was the management skills of the PCB in question when situation like these arises to conduct the tournament successful during a pandemic. These are not normal circumstances and we have seen multiple tournaments conducted successfully in multiple countries and we have not heard about the virus spreading among the players and PSL is the only tournament that was postponed because players are infected.

This is what happens when the players have total disregard for the cricket board. The first reported breach in the PSL was from Wahab Riaz and Darren Sammy. However, PCB treated these two with kid gloves. A very insignificant punishment of three day quarantine was given to the duo, but they just ignored it and Wahab went on to play a match for his team two days later. If he was suspended from the start itself, then the story would have been different.
11162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Indian Finance Minister on Cryptocoin. on: March 07, 2021, 04:30:18 AM
Elections are around the corner and the government has realized that they can't suddenly antagonize 15 million strong Bitcoin users in India. Already they have suffered huge losses due to the government policies. When the Bitcoin rally had just started, the government came up with the proposal to ban cryptocurrency. A lot of investors sold their coins at a loss, only to see the prices increasing by 200% in the next two months.
11163  Economy / Speculation / Re: $1.9 trillion stimulus passes senate on: March 07, 2021, 04:19:18 AM
Democrats doing what they are famous for. Printing banknotes like crazy and spending them in a haphazard way. The latest round of stimulus has hardly anything to do with the pandemic. It is a politically motivated measure that makes sure that the vast majority of the funding goes to blue states and inner city areas that have supported the democrats. Anyway, big spending should be good news for the Bitcoiners. And the market has reacted in a positive way. Bitcoin prices are up by 2% in the last 24 hours.

^^^ The surge in Tesla share price in 2020 is partly due to the fact that after a long time it managed to end up with a net profit in 2019. Look at Uber. It is having a market cap of more than $100 billion, despite the fact that the company has been reporting losses ever since it was first created. And worse still, the losses seems to be increasing with every passing year. At least in case of Tesla, the positive is that it has returned to profit.
11165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Thailand government seeks measures to tackle the problems of illegal gambling. on: March 07, 2021, 03:58:07 AM
Correct but as a crypto enthusiast, I guess I would prefer to carry bitcoin as its safer and untraceable. Debit card is also good though but crypto is the best, as long as you understand its volatility and know how to manage it, you can always carry as much as you want, even $1 million usd as it's all in your wallet.

Yes.. Bitcoin offers 100% anonymity, as long as you are storing your coins in a wallet which doesn't have any transactions made to KYC-enabled exchanges. Since it is a digital asset, you don't face any checks at the airport as well. It can't get any better than this. You can first convert fiat to BTC in Thailand and then travel to a country such as Cambodia, where gambling is legal. And there you can convert your BTC to fiat and visit the casinos. If you win big amounts, then once again you can convert it back to BTC and travel back to Thailand.
11166  Economy / Economics / Re: Can the world be without poverty on: March 07, 2021, 03:48:07 AM
There may be no/absolutely-no country that is with out a poor man, economically absolutely non, but this worsens in Africa where greater are the poor than the rich, it no elude the range/realm of possibility if a country is economically without a poor but that's government to head such country are years in front of us, any government attempting it, would find a balance between economy and the natural -agriculture, ecosystem, human as a resource-

Most of the African countries are headed by corrupt regimes and that is the reason why the poverty levels are so high. People vote in the elections on the basis of religion and ethnic group, rather than the honesty and integrity of the politicians. And therefore they can't really blame their governments. Another factor is that most of Africa is desert or other waste land which is unsuitable for farming. And despite this, the population is growing at an alarming rate. This means that with every passing year there are fewer natural resources for the population and that worsens the poverty situation.
11167  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid-19, Lockdown and repercussions on: March 07, 2021, 03:38:11 AM
Here in India, the cases seems to be rising once again. 2-3 weeks ago, the daily number of new cases had fallen to four-digits. But now it is back to the 15,000-20,000 range. The emergence of the new strains seems to be behind this surge. The neighboring countries such as Pakistan and Bangladesh are also reporting an increase in new infections. The situation is not as bad as in the US or the EU, but government may reimpose some of the restrictions.
11168  Economy / Economics / Re: Did tesla's $1.5 billion bitcoin purchase negatively affect their stock price on: March 07, 2021, 03:28:35 AM
I honestly don't think that is the case.

BTC prices have only moved in the positive direction since Tesla's announcement. It makes no sense for that portion of Tesla's $1.5b holdings (which is minuscule compared to their half a trillion market cap) would result in a 30% correction in their common stock.

I think people are just starting to realise that Tesla is insanely overvalued right now with a P/E ratio of nearly 1000 (for context, average P/E is usually about 20, overvalued is around 30). There is simply no stable cash flow to justify this absurd rally.

Tesla is heavily overvalued and there is no doubt about it. One year back, the stock was trading at around $100, and by this January the prices had increased to $880. The stock price increased by almost 9 times, but there was no similar increase in the revenue or net profit. At one point, Tesla had a P/E close to 1,700 which is perhaps the maximum level for any stock with a market cap above $10 billion.
11169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Indian Super League (ISL) Football match updates, predictions and discussions on: March 07, 2021, 03:18:22 AM
What a match! I was totally surprised to see today's ATK Mohun Bagan vs NorthEast match. In the full 90 minutes, NorthEast was not able to make any on-target shots. ATK was leading 1-0. But after 90 minutes, in extra time we saw the horrible form of Northeast. They made 3 shots in extra time, were able to score one goal. Both the semi-final matches have been drawn. Will we then watch the final between Mumbai City vs Mohun Bagan? Because they have dominated the whole season.Or will we see another team in the final? I think Goa will be able to go to the final.

LOL.. the goal from Idrissa Sylla in the last minute of the injury time changed the equations. ATK Mohun Bagan was playing extremely well until then, but they made a grave mistake by conceding that last minute goal. Now it is down to the last match. And regarding the match between FC Goa and Mumbai City FC, it was a more even-sided contest. It was expected, since FC Goa had the momentum with them.

I want the final to be played between Mumbai City FC and ATK Mohun Bagan. It will be a big irony if some other team qualifies to the final. These two teams dominated this season's ISL, although Mumbai City seems to have run out of gas in the final phases of the Group stage. Anyway, we will have the final leg of the semi-finals tomorrow, and the outcome will decide who will play in the final.
11170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: March 07, 2021, 03:08:37 AM
The tension between india and pakistan could be the reason of pakistan not playing this series as this is being played in india. However, the point is whether pakistan refused to play this tournament or they were not invited at all ? I wished both Australians and pakistan were part of this tournament as then it could be a mini world cup for the legends.

With players from Pakistan banned from leagues such as IPL, I don't think that it will be any different for the Road Safety World Series. All the matches will be played in India, so getting visa for the Pakistani players will also be difficult. Ideally sports should be kept separate from politics, but in South Asia that is not always possible. Even the fans treat cricket matches between India and Pakistan as some sort of mini-war.
11171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: March 07, 2021, 02:56:40 AM
New Zealand vs India final at Lord's, June 18-June 22.

Time for swing - seam battle. Boult + Southee + Wagner + Kyle Jamieson (all rounder) vs Bumrah + Ishant + Shami + Hardik /Shardul (all rounders) (reserve Siraj, not counting others). Bowling looks impressive for both teams.

But Kiwis batsmen perform much better on seaming wickets so tough battle ahead for Indian batsmen.

ICC will be preparing the pitch and therefore I don't expect any unusual support for the pacers. For them, it will be beneficial if the match lasts the full five days. Batsmen look out of form for both the teams. Rahane and Pujara are not scoring consistently and even Kohli had a recent drop in form. For New Zealand also, apart from Kane Williamson, the other batsmen are not up to the mark.
11172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk twitted - Doge on the actual MOON! on: March 06, 2021, 03:46:21 AM
Elon Musk has shown that he is excellent at manipulating cryptocurrencies.  As the saying goes, John McCaffey's change is growing.  And, one might say, he is more experienced than John Mccaffey...

You can't really compare a successful businessman like Elon Musk to a criminal such as John McAfee. Elon promoted Bitcoin, giving solid reasons for doing so. And if you check his tweets carefully, you can see that he has never asked anyone to purchase DOGE. He considers DOGE as a joke. On the other hand, McAfee got millions of USD in bribes, for promoting scam projects. As far as I know, Elon hasn't received any money for his tweets on BTC or DOGE. And he hasn't benefitted from the price fluctuations, as he don't own any of these coins.
11173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Insane Gas Fees on: March 06, 2021, 03:35:36 AM
Now I think gas costs are normal. different from January when yesterday there were many airdrops that required ethereum as a transaction fee.
Over the past 2 weeks the gas costs have gone down and are likely to be normal as usual. So you can do normal transactions for now because gas costs are already low. every day in the morning the gas fee has decreased if you are observant in taking time

They are not normal. The fee has declined form the insane levels we had for most of February, but they are still quite high. According to Ycharts, the average transaction fee as of 5th March 2021 is $14.05, which is almost 100 times the level we had one year ago. However, according to Etherscan, the average transaction fee stands at $2.43 for high priority transactions. Don't know which figure is closer to reality.
11174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How often are people really hacked out of their BTC? on: March 06, 2021, 03:26:18 AM
People get hacked all the time, only  a few are able or willing to come  and share their  experience. As soon as your private  keys or back-up phrase  are compromised, you  are doomed. Personally,  my bitcoin got stolen  on  a staking platform simply  because I had not activated 2FA security  verification. This experience  has made me to activate Google Authenticator  verification  on all platforms wherever  it's  applicable.

Don't get paranoid. If you take the necessary precautions, then the chance of your wallet getting hacked is near zero. I first purchased BTC in 2014. Ever since that date, none of my wallets have got hacked. The trick is to follow basic safety precautions, such as email verification and 2FA. Also, if you go for email verification, you need to create a fresh email rather than using the id that you use elsewhere. And Gmail is the best, because it flags whenever a login occurs from an IP which is previously not used.
11175  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-03-03 BBG - Bitcoin Jumps Above $50,000 in Recovery from Last Week’s Rout on: March 06, 2021, 03:16:30 AM
I still remember when Trump takes office, many have been singing praises because he surrounded himself of this so called pro-crypto, but nothing has change isn't it, and yet bitcoin goes on an all time high in 2017.

So I will say that we can thrive whoever is the sitting President, not unless that President will ban bitcoin totally (which I doubt will happen). So I will take everything with a grain of salt here, just saying. Huge corporations are jumping because they know that bitcoin can be a good hedge for their assets, and it has nothing to do with the political atmosphere in the US or any parts of the globe.

I would still say that the Trump administration was more favorable towards cryptocurrency than the current Biden administration. We are in to the second month of Biden presidency and already there are clear signs that powerful members of the regime are not happy with Bitcoin. The statements from Janet Yellen and Elizabeth Warren are examples. Right now, these statements are just in the form of warnings, but there is a possibility of the administration coming up with some anti-cryptocurrency legislation in the near future.
11176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin mixers are only for criminals on: March 06, 2021, 03:05:19 AM
It is ridiculous to claim that Bitcoin mixers are mostly used by criminals. I am not a criminal and I have used various Bitcoin mixers multiple times to protect my anonymity. Here in India, the government is considering to ban the possession of Bitcoin and make the ownership of BTC a criminal offense. So I regularly use Bitcoin mixers to keep my anonymity intact. Does that makes me a criminal? And I am sure that there are a lot of people like me, who are forced to use Bitcoin mixers.
11177  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid-19, Lockdown and repercussions on: March 06, 2021, 02:55:40 AM
Same here in the Philippines specially that we have no vaccines yet unlike you there at India. We are currently at top in South east asia when in comes to total infected persons.

LOL.. so far India has completely vaccinated just 0.2% of the population. It will take many years to vaccinate all the 1.4 billion people here. Also, the vaccines used in India are having lower efficacy levels (Covishield from Oxford/AstraZeneca with 62% efficacy, and Covaxin from Bharat Biotech with 81% efficacy). At least for the immediate future, the fight against COVID 19 needs to be done without assuming much impact from the vaccination program.
11178  Economy / Economics / Re: Economy after COVID-19 on: March 06, 2021, 02:45:16 AM
The virus has had many effects on life and economy. Mostly, cafes and restaurants. Business areas that serve people in general have suffered. The winner was the world of crypto money in my opinion.
not specifically crypto only mate but all of those businesses and functions as Online market because  People now had learned more about the use and advantage of this business.

I remember Most of the people around me don't usually use the Online transaction in the past before the pandemic comes but now ? almost everything that they need for living ordered thru Online shipping and that amaze me more now , that is the same reason why the Online businesses blooms like a Mushroom in just the pandemic time range.

The rise in online shopping is not surprising. Even if I am young and don't have any comorbidity, right now I would avoid going to the supermarkets and retail shops. Because if I get infected, then I can possibly pass the infection to the elderly relatives staying at home. So for now, online shopping is the safest and most reliable way to get the groceries and other necessary items. And the online shopping stocks have risen a lot since the pandemic started (AMZN, EBAY.etc).
11179  Economy / Economics / Re: Did tesla's $1.5 billion bitcoin purchase negatively affect their stock price on: March 06, 2021, 02:35:37 AM
I think tesla's stock value surged after their recent presentation unveiling new technology scheduled to be rolled out in 2022. They plan to license their new EV technology to global automakers in addition to utilizing it in house. They may also have a tesla EV they plan to market at $20k to $30k in 2022. Which could represent the price range many would like to buy a tesla but previously couldn't afford it. There is also the tesla cybertruck which is due out in 2022.

I don't know how much impact the new technology will have on Tesla sales. Right now, the cars from Tesla costs at least 4-5 times that of a gasoline-run vehicle with the same specs. People go for Tesla, because it has become a status symbol, or because they are concerned about global warming and pollution. And even $30K is still a lot. You can purchase a Chevrolet Sonic or Hyundai Accent for less than half of that price.
11180  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao offered $10 million to fight Terence Crawford on: March 06, 2021, 02:23:02 AM
I will also be betting on Terence Crawford if this fight materialized. I think Terence Crawford is one of the best in his division at this moment. But the main reason I am confident to bet on Crawford is that this fight is not a really fair match. Manny Pacquiao is very talented but talents do not remain in old age. If they do, they are not as sharp as when you are at your prime. Doubtless, Manny is far from his prime already. I don't even think Manny is still capable of knocking out an enemy, especially not Crawford.

From what I have heard, Manny is training quite hard and he keeps himself fit on a regular basis. And the same argument was put forward before the Manny Pacquiao vs. Keith Thurman fight. But in the end, it was Pacquiao who emerged victorious. And if I remember correctly, back then Thurman was initially favored by the bookies, although the odds favored Pacquiao in the end. But I consider Crawford as a much better boxer when compared to Thurman. This time it is going to be tougher for Manny.
