11161  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-04-27]Bitcoin Price Sets New Single Exchange All-Time High on: April 27, 2017, 01:55:14 PM
I wonder how many people are sending coins from other exchanges to Bitfinex in order to "benefit" from the $100 premium.

From Bitfinex's site;
Quote
Bitfinex is not alone in the bitcoin community in confronting challenges presented by correspondent banks; other exchanges in the digital currency ecosystem are also being affected. However, we are no longer in a position where we can wait for our existing banking partners to provide viable solutions. Accordingly, we are taking steps to work with our attorneys to ensure they are able to satisfy any requests and claims from customers. We are confident that this short-term solution will allow us to meet our fiat obligations to customers. However, it will likely be a one-time option per customer for USD withdrawals. It is not an ongoing solution to the correspondent banking problem and customers should be advised that they will be required to provide an appropriate acknowledgment of payment for claims in order to receive their fiat funds. Nonetheless, we believe it is important to build this solution for the immediate needs of our customers. This is also taking some time, and we will report back on our progress as soon as we are able.

It's not certain yet. It will be pure gambling since there isn't anything that will guarantee Bitfinex to come with a proper (temporary) solution within a reasonable amount of time. Either way, instead of people getting blinded by their greed and take the risk, they should stay far, far away from that exchange. It's not worth the risk.

Actually $100 USD premium is not that huge amount. However, as long as people is making money then its worth a try.  Grin

Current price on Bitfinex: 1420. ATH?

Well, this gets me going. Will it be possible from some of Bitfinex customer, say customer A want to file a lawsuit against them because customer A
cannot withdraw his fiat money from Bitfinex? I'm just finding it filing a lawsuit against Bitfinex is the only way to get your money because they still haven't any resolution yet on the ongoing issue they are facing. No?
11162  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The United States conducted tests of Intercontinental ballistic missiles on: April 27, 2017, 12:57:13 PM
China would then bomb usa, then israel would bomb china(from usa funded warheads). That will be the beginning of ww 3 and end of humanity.

This is the risk now. If the Americans attack North Korea, then the Chinese are not going to sit back and watch. We all know that Xi Jinping is not in good terms with Kim Jong Un. But if an American invasion occur, then they will set aside their differences and unite against the common enemy.

The US is highly unlikely to launch an attack on North Korea because the move could possibly escalate tensions all the way to nuclear war. America recognize that the importance of having a joint approach with China, regarding the treat that North Korea poses in the region. American and China will join together to thwart any efforts by North Korea to start a nuclear war. Be it thru diplomatic channels or otherwise.

Of course we don't what a full blown nuclear war happened between USA and North Korea. No one will win if WW3 erupts, all of us will suffer in the end. We should all hope and pray that the Kim Jong Un will not make any crazy move and that he is bluffing only.
11163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 211: Miocic vs Dos Santos info and Prediction Thread on: April 27, 2017, 11:40:43 AM
Miocic vs Dos Santos for me is a good fight and it can go either way. Maybe Junior Dos Santos has been in so many fights, but I still believed he still have some in this tank. Although Miocic has improved a lot, Junior Dos Santos I believed some something to proved that he still got it. My bet JDS.

I'm also eager to watch  Frankie Edgar vs. Yair Rodriguez. Yair is one of  the rising star in the UFC but I think I have to go with Frankie Edgar here. Frankie is still a legend for me and I love watching his in and out movement. This fight will end in a decision, but this time it is Frankie's hand who is gonna be raised. My bet Frankie Edgar.
11164  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prediction - $1500 in 30 days - What do you think? on: April 27, 2017, 10:58:39 AM
I have seen a lot of news over the past 6 months, since BTC sold for around 600 dollars.
One thing that seems to have stood out in the news is the relentless positive attitude surrounding Bitcoin.
The price continues to thrive and big business wants a piece of the action.
Words such as 'decentralized' and 'blockchain' have become so common in start-up's and established business.
In a world where where we used to have emoji's we now have guides on emoji grammar. The online world is changing.  Shocked
I cant tell you all that I have any more knowledge than the average Bitcoin Miner.

So fro 600 to 1300 dollars in 6 months, My prediction is for BTC to hit $1500 in 30 days. That's my logic!

If it doesn't, I you have my word that I will not try to predict the future again, now where did I put my crystal ball....

Its looks likely that bitcoin will at least touch $1500 in the next 30 days as long as there are no negative news that will impact the bitcoin ecosystem. We all know that a few FUD here and there causes some newbies to panic and dump their coins causing a dip in the price. If other country will follow what Japan did, then its possible that it can reach more than $1500 in the next 30 days or so. There was a hack on a South Korean exchanges Yapizon, but I doubt it will have a effect on the bitcoin price now. I just checked bitfinex bitcoin price: $1407 now.
11165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: South Korea Exchange: Yapizon is the latest victim of hackers (2017) on: April 27, 2017, 10:26:39 AM
Looking at this news I'm reminded of bitfinnex case that had tear down the bitcoin price globally, with loss of 37.08% of assets stolen by hackers (yapizon) I am afraid this will affect the overall bitcoin price. What is your response about this considering yapizon is one of big trading market in south korea, and What is the impact globally?

https://cointelegraph.com/news/korean-bitcoin-exchange-yapizon-confirms-5-mln-hack-all-customers-to-pay-with-balances

Those hackers stole 3,800 BTC in customer funds!!! It's a huge amount. But it looks like Yapizon is already putting plans to payback their customers similar to Bitfinex but I don't know how long will it take them to pay their customers. Effect is that South Koreans will loss trust in this exchanges and I don't think they will deposit their btc their. I don't know what percentage is Yapizon captured in the global exchanges market. I can only speculate that its only has minimal effect on the bitcoin ecosystem as their are a lot of exchanges around that is more trusted. So just be careful guys. I have btc in other exchanges but its only a small amount, I just used exchanges just to convert bitcoin-fiat only.
11166  Economy / Economics / Re: Indian Economy at all-time high! What you say..? on: April 27, 2017, 07:40:39 AM
So today is the remarkable day for Indian Economy.
Indian Stock Exchange closed at all time high 30,135, first time 30k+. Moreover, Bitcoin crossed $1400 in domestic market of India.
So how you all guess Indian Economy in coming future. Is it going to be the new super power on international frontier? Does India seeing its best government ever?
Waiting for views....

Bitcoin trading at a premium in India does have its reasons... Capita controls imposed by the government, demonetization removing cash, etc.
I don't think it is related to the Indian stock markets hitting all time highs.

Exactly mate. Demonetization in India was highly impact their economy and I believed Indians are now getting into stock market and bitcoin. Its good for bitcoin ecosystem though, it just shows the Indians are really into bitcoin investment temporarily. I don't know when the Indian government will lift up the demonetization mandate, but I hope if it is lifted, bitcoin will still continue to flourish in India because we all know that is in one of he most populous nation and image just half of the population into having bitcoin, that is huge impact indeed.
11167  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Perfect Trading Website/App on: April 27, 2017, 07:12:17 AM
Lets say in theory someone is creating a bitcoin/altcoin trading website/app.

What would make it perfect? How could it better than the sites we already have?

There is no perfect trading website. All the trading website right now looks good to me.

However, to have a good trading website that a lot of traders/investors will used, you need to be open up for suggestions that will make trading website "perfect" in your customers eye. For one, graph needs to be accurate in real time because some of us are using it to make decision on whether to sell of buy. Also, a good API that will facilitate information sharing including real time price or even trade execution. This is some of the thing I have right now. Goodluck.
11168  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Japan is one of the leaders in the world in number of suicides. on: April 27, 2017, 06:49:31 AM
Well to start of, historically Japanese culture taught the suicide is not a sin actually is honorable act and not against God. Buddhism and samurai culture allowed for committing suicide. That's why when we watch WW2 movies, we will see a lot of Japanese committing hara-kiri.

As a result of this, many Japanese committed suicide if they are having financial pressure or even individual who can't get a job took their lives because they can't find any in a very competitive job market. I also agree with the work hours rendered, that is too much if you are working like 12-14 hours a day and still the job is not complete. You are being pressured and the next thing you know the individual committed suicide already.
11169  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto Earning Heaven! on: April 27, 2017, 05:57:59 AM
Hello! Me, and a few other members of the team will be making a free website where you can see the latest price predictions of over 50+ Coins!
We will be update the content each day to ensure correct data and such. We will also be making POW/POS Calculators! One of the very few!
We will add many stuff, and the website will be Done soon.

Here is the estimated release date of the website: MARCH 5th 2017

We are currently working on it, and plan on giving you all the information necessary to profit from Exchange sites such as Poloniex!

You lost me here. You said that the release date of your website is March 5. And you posted here last April 23. Does it mean that the website is still not working and not release yet to the public?

I'm also interested in the POW/POS Calculators. I'm just curious as to what methodology are you going to employed for your prediction. I know this will not be perfected but I have to say that it some advantages for end users that will aid them in the decision making. I will be watching this thread and Goodluck to your project.
11170  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitTorrent Cryptocurrency on: April 27, 2017, 05:27:02 AM
Lol. Not another coin that will so called "beat" bitcoin. 1000 coins have tried, 1000 coins have failed. I like the idea though, but I don't think this will become a bitcoin killer.

"Cohen also took aim at Bitcoin during his appearance on the podcast, saying he considers it to be "still over-hyped".

He added: "it's getting a lot more media attention than the actual impact that it's having so far... a lot of people get excited about Bitcoin because it's gone up a lot in value and they have made money off it."

Its all about the money. Cohen just want to have a share of the market because crypto-currency, bitcoin for particular is very popular now and prices are getting higher everyday. For all we know he has already a lot of bitcoin in his wallet as investment. Everyone is really jumping on the bandwagon now and riding the new revolution - Bitcoin.
11171  Other / Politics & Society / Re: In Paraguay there was a robbery of the century. on: April 26, 2017, 03:43:37 PM
An armed gang of about 50 persons robbed the office of private collection firms. Explosive was used, sniper rifles and machine guns. To divert attention was also attacked a police station and burned several cars. According to preliminary data, stolen about $ 40 million.

I think this is not a terrorist attack but rather a group of gang related to drug organization. They stole money to put more funds in the organization. Also I don't think the locals did this, maybe drug organization around Paraguay. This is a organized heist including diversionary tactics used. I hope that government of Paraguay can arrest or maybe killed these criminals. This act really shows that the drug organization are really desperate now since crackdown was already put into action in the last few years.

On a brighter note, this could turn into a Hollywood B-action movie. Life imitating art.  Grin
11172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen to your BTC and alts if you died ? on: April 26, 2017, 03:13:25 PM
I have accumulated some Bitcoin and other alts. Most of my holdings are in a single wallet yet I have a few on different platforms and one left on an exchange. I have tried to explain this to my spouse yet there is not a full understanding. If I died I am confident that all of this would not be recovered.

This weeks project is to write an encrypted note detailing where are the holdings are and how to access them. Even with access, the knowledge is not there to be able to convert the holdings to fiat if necessary.

What is your situation ?

This is a good thread. It open my mind to what might happen if I don't left my bitcoin to my family. I'll probably write done details instruction on how to access my wallet just in case. I haven't open to my family regarding bitcoin so this might be a good idea to start right now. All my hard work earning/saving bitcoin will put to nothing if I don't have someone know about it and transfer my knowledge. Good candidate is my wife and my youngest kid who is very inclined to technology. We never know what will happened in future so I'm going to transfer all information moving forward.
11173  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Help] How to start with a project? | Faucet/Project owner's feedback welcome! on: April 26, 2017, 02:37:06 PM
Hello,
I am currently planning to start a bitcoin project in the next weeks.
The problem: I have absolutely no experience and even no real idea.
Well, you maybe ask now "why do you want to start a project without any idea?".
I have not really no idea.
There are much ideas I have but they mostly need some more experience.

Lol. How can you start your project in the first place if you have no idea to start with. You need to have idea on what you want to start with. And from there begin to develop your business goals in order for you to succeed.

The thing is, that I learned programming over some months and want now start an own thing.
I can program own things but have no experience with APIs for example.
Means: I could accept and make manual payments but not automate it with a processor.

Then you should hire a professional coder to help you developed your ideas. That's why its important to have an idea on what you are going to start with.

I would like to start with a faucet website.
Since starting programming I wanted to make my own project.
I have not much money to start but I would like to try it anyway.

I want to collect experience over the time.
Maybe in some months I have a good side income.

What are the first steps in a faucet?
Is it recommend to start a faucet or will the costs be much higher than the income?
What experiences did you as owner make over the time?
What should I be careful with?
Can you tell me how to accept automaticly payments?
Or can you show me some tutorials?

I would really like to write with someone who has experience with this
and in best case makes already money with it.
Maybe you can help me.

Thank you for reading!

I must say that faucet business is not profitable.

Well how can you start your own business if you don't have money? If you don't have money then it would be difficult for you to start any business because you will be a one man team. You can use the search function in our forum to get a good idea on how to start a faucet business if that is your initially plan. Goodluck dude.

11174  Economy / Economics / Re: Big Reasons Why Many Families Are Feeling Extreme Financial Stress on: April 26, 2017, 02:05:11 PM
Economic problems are not peculiar to the intermediate and under, including a rise in the price of food or other necessities needs that could be a major factor in the face of everything.
In fact we will not stress the face of all that, if we have a fixed income and can manage our money properly.

We have fixed income, but prices are going up and we are at the point when we can't keep up, that is what op talks about. And I must agree that many families are in stress, financial stress usually leads to other problems.
Everything is much more expensive now then 10 years ago, and just for example my paycheck in this moment is 33 000 dinars and that is around 300 dollars, my paycheck 10 years ago was 33 000 dinars and then that was 550 dollars!!! Is that normal? So I have less money now but everything cost more also, so how can I manage my money properly?
For nonbelievers, you can see price of dollar and euro in my country on this nice graphic:  http://www.kursna-lista.com/grafikoni

Fixed income for some families are not enough to cover all monthly expenses including food and other necessary needed in life to survived especially the middle income families. And even if you have fixed income that will cover everything, you have nothing left to save. So if there is emergencies, you don't have the money. So to me, fixed income is not enough. That's why the father and the mother need to work in order to survived his families.

And as @Barbut has pointed out, the price today is so expensive as compare to previous years, so in order for the middle income families to survived  they need to have a way above fixed income but unfortunately, this is very hard to do. Some have left their families and work abroad in exchange of giving their families a better future. So we can't rely on our monthly income, we have to look for other alternatives to earn money.
11175  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Where to invest my Bitcoins? on: April 26, 2017, 01:33:17 PM
Hi,

Hope I posted in the right board and totally new to this investing bitcoins.

I got under 0.1 bitcoin lending on poloniex but rates are too low for a good return.

Where is the best place to Invest bitcoins with the best returns and lowest risk?

Thanks,

You have a small investments to begin with so the return is also small. Have you tried trading in Poloniex instead of just lending it out. Try trading in alt-coins maybe you can get a good return you just have to me very careful on what coins to invest or trade. Or try also investing in a on-line casino gambling site. Some of them gave good returns but you have to invest it long term to really enjoy the profit. You should look for sites that are trusted and established already in the business and see how they are giving shares to their investors. GoodLuck.
11176  Economy / Speculation / Re: effect of Japan on bitcoin price speculation on: April 26, 2017, 12:45:45 PM
snip
No it isn't.   Waiting on confirmations?   Transaction fees?  Fuck that, it takes 12 seconds to give cash and get change back.  Even less if you have the exact amount.   Plus you have to go and buy bitcoin to begin with.   Not at all more convenient.

Though what you mentioned are all valid issues bitcoin is facing right now that is holding adoption and price hike back, the topic is the effect of japan's move to bitcoin. Making bitcoin legal in Japan opens a lot of opportunity for bitcoin users and maybe even other cryptocurrencies. Japan will be the model for other countries and if it becomes successful in Japan, other countries may follow and will make bitcoin grow more on price.

Absolutely Japan making bitcoin legal in their country open a lot of opportunities to us. Now I'm thinking of buying items from Japan and paying with my bitcoin.  Grin Or we can sell something that Japanese people want and they pay us with their bitcoin.

Although for me the Japan effect on the price of bitcoin will be only felt long term. Its barely a month since making it legal so we still need to see how the price will move in 6 months time. Japan is setting a precedence, and I hope other country will follow what they have set regarding bitcoin adoption.
11177  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-04-26] SEC Orders Review of Winklevoss Bitcoin ETF Rejection on: April 26, 2017, 10:52:50 AM
The Winklevoss brothers should give up already. Their ETF will not be approved the second time around. As far as I'm concerned, no ETF on bitcoin will ever be granted. I guess they should put their effort on other things. Just leave bitcoin for now, we don't need ETF anyway. Bitcoin price is soaring currently and people has the responsibility to know how to safeguard their bitcoin in their wallet. If their is another ETF is the horizon, it will more likely to be rejected by SEC as well.
11178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: April 26, 2017, 08:04:39 AM
Eventhough Russell Westbrook or the Oklahoma City Thunder didn't won the series for me Westbrook will be the 2016-17 NBA finals. Your thoughts or opinions?

Do you know that there are 2 kinds of MVP in the NBA. Regular Season MVP and Finals MVP. If you are talking about the regular season MVP. Definitely Russell Westbrook is most likely to win it because of his tremendous accomplished this season, breaking Oscar Robertson triple-double record. Harden is his closes rival in terms of statistics and impact to the team. Although Harden and Houston eliminated OKC and Russell Westbrook, personally for me Russell Westbrook will earn his first MVP this year no doubt about it.
11179  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Supreme court has recognized "Jehovah's Witnesses" extremist organization on: April 26, 2017, 07:35:56 AM
Russia's Supreme court declared extremist activity "administrative center of Jehovah's witnesses in Russia" and forbade his work in the country. This decision was taken on April 20. Who still do not believe that Putin is the embodiment of Satan?

This is just a testimony to the ruthlessness of Russia’s authoritarian regime. But it was a very important blow against the principle of freedom of belief.

Personally, I have a buddy who is with Jehovah's Witnesses. And from what I understand they are anti-violent religious group. They are opposed to war. So why did Russia declared them extremist organization then?

I suspect that because they refuses military services. Russia is a superpower and are building a stronger military unit. But if Russian Jehovah's witness don't want to go to military service because they its against their religion, then they will be persecuted. But I don't think that only Jehovah's are being persecuted in Russia because of their religion. I speculate than even Catholics and Protestant as well. In Russia, it is yet another testimony to the ruthless and brutal dishonesty of the Putin regime.
11180  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin can reach 3000 USD in a year ? on: April 26, 2017, 06:42:48 AM
Bitcoin can reach 3000 USD in a year ?

Its possible to touch $3000 price but I doubt it will be done this year. It the trend continues, it could possibly be hit in 2018. But we all know for a fact that a slight negative news coming from FUD will cause panic then the dumping start. This is only scenario that can bring the market price down. Of course, we don't want that to happen, but this kind of things is inevitable. The good thing about bitcoin though is that it can recover from this kind of angle. We can only hope that for this year that the price will continue to rise so that everyone would be happy at the end of the year.
