1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ] The Unification Fight: FURY vs USYK 18th MAY 2024 re-scheduled on: May 02, 2024, 11:20:20 PM
(...)
He said he took it serious both before and after the fight, but we all know we can't believe what he says given he lies so much, but there's also the possibility that he's just not as good as we thought he was. I guess this Usyk fight really is going to be the litmus test because there's no sleepwalking into this fight out of shape as Usyk will dismantle him and if Tyson loses then he's lost to a 'jumped up middleweight' in his own words.

Does he lie a lot though? I always considered Fury to be one of the most honest in the boxing world and speaking his mind. The fact that he wasn't making any excuses after the Ngannou fight somewhat proves that.

Excuses are only for those who losses the fight, and obviously he still emerge victories with the help of the judges. And he might have said that right after the fight and we don't know behind close doors if he is trying very hard for Francis or no.

But here he shouldn't underestimate Usyk, he knows what's at stake in this fight. He should come in here in the best shape of his fighting career. Otherwise, if he is caught sleeping again like in the Ngannou fight, Usyk will take advantage of it and going to dominate him.

2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Canelo Alvarez - Jaime Munguia May 4 Super Middleweight Championship on: May 02, 2024, 11:00:22 PM
It's getting personal now between Oscar DeLa Hoya and Canelo Alvarez the two almost come to a blow after Oscar disrespected Canelo for telling people it was The Golden Boy Promotion that he headed that created Canelo and telling everybody about Canelo's two failed doping tests.

Check the video here this has become ugly and we will see more thrash talks and disrespecting words before and after the fight

Canelo and Oscar De La Hoya separated at a press conference

Oscar is right that Canelo became a massive star under the Golden Boy banner, but Canelo was also carrying Golden Boy for many years when most of their best fighters left and Canelo was their only cash cow. It was a mutually beneficial situation, even though both sides are too proud to admit that and just want to take all the credit for themselves. They are putting their egos ahead of acting like professionals. Instead of promoting this fight they are more interested in trying to discredit each other and it’s not a very good look. Munguia is just a background actor in this whole drama.

Yeah, I think Oscar is overshadowing Munguia here, he shouldn't make that disrespectful comments in the press conference as he has bring those old fued between him and Canelo and it shouldn't be the center of the discussion. It should be how his boy Munguia will beat Canelo.

Anyhow, he had said it already, Canelo got irritated, and if you understand a little bit of Spanish, you will understand what he said in the background hehehe. But let's see if this kind of promotion will backfire on Oscar, or if it will make this fight more interesting for fight fans.

Canelo is pissed off I think he is more pissed off at Oscar than all the fighters he faced and I believe Canelo will pour his anger on Munguia because of Oscar's antics, Oscar is always taking away the spotlight on his fighters
but when his fighters lose, he is nowhere to be found, just like when Ryan loses to Tank.
Let's see where he will be after Munguia loses to Canelo, but if Munguia upsets Canelo, I'm sure Oscar and Bernard will be everywhere for an interview.

And that will be bad for Jaime Munguia as he will vent all his anger and frustrations and all the trash talking of Oscar to him and maybe we will see a knockout victory for Canelo here. Just like what he did after that Ryan win, although today it's been question because of the PEDS allegations.

So we will see, Oscar put the stakes so high right now with Munguia and somewhat pressure him to perform his best because he has pissed Canelo. And also this is a good gauge if the old but reliable coach Freddie Roach has still has it to train a young fighter and develop him to be one of the best, just like when he guided Manny Pacquaio into greatness.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next movement of Bitcoin. Let's share everything you can about Bitcoin. on: May 02, 2024, 10:36:27 PM
OP is either hurting or feeling his mistake on getting into Meme and $hitcoins...or both!

Its standard that the replies to such a question are varied and will be after my post because
nobody can tell what happens in the future.

We have a general long term view or expectation for Bitcoin for the future which is up
but for short term anything is possible.

Meme and $hitcoins expect + or - 100x

True mate, and then there is also the element of luck, when you 'invest' in this shitcoin and meme coins. Remember when I met my aunt, we haven't seen for many years and then when I told here I was into crypto, he said that he invested $1000 on meme coins and my cousins his laughing (his son), but of where his mom put that money (although I know that they can afford to lose that kind of money).

Nevertheless I advises her not to invest on shit or meme coins because it's purely for pump and dump and very volatile. But instead go for where your money will slowly grow, and that is in BTC and it's already proven to us since the beginning and that formula is foolproof.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are online/crypto casinos the most profitable digital business? on: May 02, 2024, 10:00:36 PM

Do they make more profit than digital banks, CEX exchanges, etc.?

It could be, gambling whether online or offline, is already a billion dollar business.

You just have to look at this forum and see that there are casinos born maybe every month as a business to at least get a piece of that big pie, just a slice and it will be more than enough to make money.

As compare to let's say a crypto exchange, there could be traders around, but it takes skills and technical know how just to make a decent money. Unlike in gambling wherein, some individual from Asia to Africa started to create an account to a online casino and then deposit crypto and starts to play, easy like that and then you have one customer, one potential customer that can get addicted.
5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Buy a Bonus VS playing Slot on normal Spin - which do you prefer? on: May 02, 2024, 09:33:38 PM
Hi gamblers,

So, I am here to ask, buying a bonus and playing on normal spins in slot game, which so far, has been more profitable for or to you?

It will only be profitable if you're lucky to get the buy bonus and win. Because there is no guarantee as slot is luck base. So for me, I might as well go for a normal spin and see if I will get the bonus or not. At least I will be enjoying this way, although I don't have anything about those gamblers who chooses to go and uses buy bonus because it's a feature that could work for them.

But the end of it all we all know with RTP, everything is still base on luck regardless if you won and get a normal spin bonus with 10 spins or a buy bonus with 20 spins.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: May 02, 2024, 09:13:34 PM
Not defending Ryan, but let's put it this way, a boxer was also found to be positive but he didn't win the fight, Michel Rivera suspended six months, fined 15% of purse for failed drug test.

So there is an argument that even if you uses Peds, it will not help you win a fight as the example above. Ryan doesn't look jack at all with all this Peds accusations though. So this remains to be seen and the timing of the released of this news, when everyone was celebrating Ryan's victory, they try to destroy and discredit it by some entities.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 30, 2024, 10:53:19 PM
@btc_angela. This is what has been said by only the very few of the boxing fans in boxing forums and the fans in bitcointalk.org might be thinking that this is only a conspiracy theory if we mention it hehehee. If King Ry did not win against Devin Haney, I reckon everyone would remain to think that this is only a conspiracy theory. It is headshaking. Much of these fans want to think and only accept Tank Davis has won without speculating why and how. We were scammed by Tank. We should not support this type of person.

There’s no doubt Tank had an unfair advantage but Ryan bears some responsibility for agreeing to those terms. Canelo and Floyd have used similar tactics before, but it has not had much impact on their legacy. For me it diminishes their accomplishments, which is why I consider Beterbiev, Nakatani, and Bivol better pound for pound fighters than Canelo, even though many lists have him third only behind Inoue and Crawford.

I think Ryan has no choice though, he is the B-side on that negotiations and we can say that he just wanted to fight Tank Davis. And there could be upside as well for him as far as PPV revenues and live gates and that's why he said yes.

And he just try to make it real but telling the public that there is a rehydration clause and Davis camp didn't disagree with him and they justify that Ryan is too big for Tank that's why they inserted it in the contract. And most likely why Tank as much as he had that superstar power, is still behind with some fighters that you mentioned as far as greatness is because he just wanted to protect his 0 at all cost.

We are not arguing about Ryan's choice. This is his mistake on signing the fight against the ICO scammer Tank with a rehydration clause. We are talking about the fans that gave Tank the cheers when he won vs. King Ry and agreeing on the argument that he gave up in the ring without considering the rehydration clause.

What mistakes though, he should knew in the beginning that he will be at a disadvantage. They can simply walk away from the contract, but eventually they did. And it's good that there are no NDA in this clause, LOL, because if there are, we will not know that there are such thing as rehydration clause in that fight. And even if Tank Davis win, it diminishes some of that aura of his big win because of this clause.

I reckon King Ry was there to make boxing great again. However, this scammer Tank is using the coward's tactic by hiding behind the contract. I would like to witness a rematch against Pitbull and another rematch against King Ry. We can be quite certain Tank will avoid these.

No way Tank Davis will fight this version of Ryan, he will be too big for Davis, and I doubt that they are willing to go up at 140 lbs to fight King Ry. They can't have another negotiations with rehydration clause, Ryan will not agree to that.
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: April 30, 2024, 10:30:30 PM
The fight is pro and not an exhibition fight so both fighters will try to hurt each other, Mike Tyson's last fight was against Roy Jones Jr. and he showed that he could still keep up but that was years ago I don't know his stamina in a real fight now, but I hope he can put Jake Paull in his rightful place and that is entertaining people on Youtube.
wait, I remember seeing that they announced the fight would be an exhibition match it's also I kept saying in my previous post that Mike Tyson or Jake Paul would really be in danger or anything since the fight is just an exhibition match, did they recently change it?

edit: I did a quick search and it showed several articles posted hours ago saying that the fight has been sanctioned as a pro bout.

Yeah the new rules have just been published recently. Before those changes the fight was just an exhibition without even judges and no recognition of any boxing organisation.
Still, the fight is a joke and everybody knows it. It will be a little bit of a secret handshake deal where both acknowledge to not hurt or embarrass the other guy.

Tyson has nothing to win here, it's just a pay day. Imagine him losing, even though this fight is just a joke it will still hang like a shadow over his career in my opinion.

Or maybe I am wrong and this fight will be an absolute fight fest with both giving their all. The odds for this happing are very slim though.

I agree, whether this is deemed as professional or exhibition, Tyson will show up just for the paycheck. If he wins then good, it won't put any on his legacy as he cemented it when he retires.

And if Jake Paul wins? again, being in this kind of high profile celebrity fights, he might want to look for another big one, maybe another legend or rematches those who he had fought before for more money, win-win for this two fighters.
9  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: April 30, 2024, 09:50:28 PM
RTP and volatility, and that is the reason why some members here think that some casinos are rigged, but they don't know that there are factors why they are unlucky.

Yeahhh, at the end of the day, it's about luck lol. These information could help us determine what type of games we want in conjunction to our risk appetite but only if we have fully grasped the concept. The problem is misconceptions happen hence why metawin's infographic goes a long way imo.

With how much hype base is getting on metawin, I'm starting to think $MWIN token is gonna be on base 🤔

Right, I think $MWIN, there is also a hint on their email with regards to $ROCKY.

Quote
We may even provide a little $MWIN allocation to $ROCKY holders.

I experiment on their end, but it has the potential to become big for $MWIN.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: April 28, 2024, 10:31:03 PM
If ever this fight will materialize, Spence better pay Derrick his dues so it will not become an issue, because Ryan will use this to distract Spence.
It's still unclear who Ryan is going to fight but I lean on a Pitbull Cruz match since he keeps on bragging that he can easily beat Pitbull Cruz, I hope Pitbull disposes of Valenzuela so there's a possibility that the match between him and Ryan happen.

If Ryan wants a belt, he can easily choose Pitbull Cruz. I think Ryan's boxing skills is way better than Pitbull Cruz, and since he already know how to use his advantage and could make the right adjustment in the ring, he should easily win here. However, I don't think it's gonna be a short fight, because Pitbull Cruz has never been KO in his boxing career and even game Tank Davis a tough fight although he loss via decision.

Yeah, if he wanted a belt then he can choose Pitbull Cruz and for sure he will be the favorite. But if he wants more money then he can chase Errol Spence Jr and put a spin of that he wanted to avenge Derrick Jones and I do agree he will used the lawsuit against Spence and play Errol and will try to get into his head.

The thing though with a fight with Pitbull is that Ryan says he can't make 140 lbs anymore, so it will be at a catch weight and we don't know if Cruz or his camp are willing to do that. It will be obviously at 143 lbs like what Ryan weight during the Haney fight.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Nery For Undisputed 122lbs Title - May on: April 28, 2024, 10:10:22 PM
Have you guys seen the video of Inoue sparring against former title challenger Raymart Gaballo? It demonstrates the power, accuracy and speed of Inoue. Although Nery is heavier and more experienced than Gaballo. The video showed Gaballo wearing a head gear and we saw Inoue hurt former champions Stephen Fulton and Marlon Tapales and Nery is no different. But of course I am also interested what Nery can offer. He's like a Japanese assassin when he ended the long reign of former champion and p2p top 10 Shinsuke Yamanaka.

Inoue-Gaballo sparring: https://www.facebook.com/reel/3388484004785974

Thanks for the video mate,

Dang, the power of Inoue is really unreal, I agree that even if Gaballo had that head gear to support, still though he felt Inoue's power. What if there are no head gear? The result? Almost 90% KO rate for the Japanese.

Definitely, Nery will show in this fight just like what others did feeling very confident. But once Naoya got into his rhythm I wouldn't be surprised that Nery going down early or another knockout win for the Monster year and then putting his name on top of the pound for pound list.
12  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaWin.com | The First WEB3 Casino on: April 28, 2024, 09:50:26 PM
That feeling when you finally trigger that bonus spins but it's a dud LMAOOOO

I know the feeling mate, been there as well in my years of playing slots, LOL.

RTP and volatility, and that is the reason why some members here think that some casinos are rigged, but they don't know that there are factors why they are unlucky.

Good thing with Metawin is that they are not just pure gambling platform, but they supported new projects like

https://twitter.com/RockyCoinBase/status/1784168815464775938

It's either the casinos will support their native token or just Bitcoin + any other altcoin for deposits/withdrawals and competition. But Metawin put it to the next level with this kind of promotions and support, IMHO.

Or maybe we can apply Occam’s Razor here.

And simply put, he can't really be identified even if we know his ip address, his well known email address, or what time he post here in the community, or if Satoshi is just a single person or group of individuals.

15  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC 2030 Assumptions on: April 27, 2024, 11:27:55 PM
"Bitcoin mining will become unprofitable."

This one cannot happen. If mining is not profitable, then the network will not be secure, so activity and fees will need to be high enough to cover mining costs. If BTC goes fully mainstream mining will still be very profitable.

And I think mining manufactures will have to adjust, that's how they are doing it for years after the halving, they come with a better PoW machine so secure the network so it will still be as profitable as like two halving years ago. And most likely they are producing machines or design ASIC that can be cheap and cost effective and friendly.

Probably the OP is talking about the price, and again, very hard to predict but I guess Bitcoin will still continue to dominate the market, and be around 6 digits by that time and maybe more countries are going to legally adopt it like what El Salvador is doing.

When it comes to price then there's no way that we could really be able to guess on where it would really be ending up but since Bitcoin would really be more scarce on the next halving and so forth
and if the demand and recognition would really be gradually increasing then we can assume out that the value would really be increasing also and there's no doubt with that. We do know that
it would be always depending on the demand and supply when it comes or speaking about value on which we are talking 6 years from now which there's still so much things that could happen.

We dont know if institutional funds would be flowing more into crypto space even more or would really be having that kind of ETF bad impact or its cons. This is why
there's no way that we could really be able to predict on whats ahead because there would really be several factors on which it could really be able to make out such impact
in regarding value or price on which we know that this is something that cant be known.

But let me ask you something since this is "Speculation" thread.

Based on Bitcoin's past history after a block halving, do you think the price will go on a new all time high? Removed the ETF as you have said we don't know what will be the impact or not sure if institutions are still a question according to you.

Again, everyone can make their wild and educated guess here so I'm just asking what you think will happen this year and next year.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] David Benavidez vs. Olexandr Gvozdyk interim WBC Championship on: April 27, 2024, 11:06:16 PM

Canelo has a lot in his table before he retires, his rematch or even a Benavidez fight. But it seems that he is not interested as of now. Because it was reported that after this fight, his next will be against another young fighter in Berlanga.

Cherry-picking at its finest, he chooses young guys who are not yet considered top-level fighters instead of fighting Morell or Benavidez if he keeps doing this on his next 3 or 4 fights people will not become interested in going and buying tickets to see him watch, because there's no challenge anymore it's like usual business.

Speaking of Morrell though, why not Benavidez fight him for the belt? Instead of going up in 175 lbs?

The '80s and '90s fighters or the golden era in boxing, where boxers would check and fight the next best guy for money and legacy and if he could not see it in his division he would go up and conquer territories, he could not go to the next level or the light heavyweight division because he already tasted defeat and he wants to protect his reputation

I agree 100%, although we might not like what Don King and Bob Arum has done to some of the boxers in that era money wise, but they were pure business man, sitting down and then let the best fight the best. Now we have boxers being protected and doesn't want to lose like Tank Davis. It's a different era now, everyone is being protected by their managers, promoters or even governing bodies like the corrupt WBC.
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin way forward - Towards $100k or $50k on: April 27, 2024, 10:30:15 PM
Before the Bitcoin halving it looked like maybe the Bitcoin market would go over $100k after the Bitcoin halving. But after the Bitcoin halving, Bitcoin tends to decrease rather than increase. Bitcoin is currently at 63 thousand dollars and from here Bitcoin can take two types of turning especially if the price increases then it can go to 100k dollars and if the price of Bitcoin decreases it can go down to 50 thousand dollars.
Currently the price of Bitcoin is still at $63K and if a decline can occur at the end of this month or at the beginning of next month, I will not immediately make a prediction for the $50K range. Because currently Bitcoin has stronger resistance to this if we compare it to last year so there is a possibility for Bitcoin to be above $50K if the price decline actually occurs at the end of this month or next month. But what we are seeing now is still at $63K with quite slow movement in the market.

Yes, +/- $63,000, still good price though, and I think everyone should understand that even if we had the catalyst for a bull run already completed which is the block halving, it doesn't mean that the price is immediately go and reach 6 digits. It's not how Bitcoin works, it might take sometime for the market to have that kind of run, maybe we need some news to push the price or just the whales suddenly find themselves wanting to initiate a bull run.

I also don't think that $50,000 or a potential dump in the market is going to happen. We have a huge support at any line, like in $60,000 or even lower. We just need to have patience, specially to beginners in the market and just don't overthink and be nervous about a huge decrease in price. Everything will fall for us this year, IMHO.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Canelo Alvarez - Jaime Munguia May 4 Super Middleweight Championship on: April 27, 2024, 10:14:45 PM
One week before the fight weigh-in between the two,

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/XkpU3kmMVzg

And they are on target to make the weight based on the current weight they have, just over 170++ for both for of them right now. But if they drain themselves and took all the water in their body, easy 168 lbs.

So it's just a week from now, we will see if Jaime Munguia can pull the biggest upset for this year or Canelo not ready to past the torch to the young gun just yet.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Israil Madrimov vs Terrence Crawford on: April 27, 2024, 09:50:14 PM

True, Bud's counter is underrated, but we have seen it in many of his fights, that he can read his opponents and then adjust during the fight, similar to Floyd. Madrimov hasn't seen a fighter in Bud's caliber so he might be in for a big surprised when he can't land his power punches, specially his jumping left hook.

It's good that Terrence is exploring territory after beating Spence right now Terrence has a level of invincibility, he was so perfect in his fight against Spence if he shows the same form as he did against Errol Israil will be in big trouble.
Terrence is already 36 years he should be more aggressive to establish his legacy and a fight with the Charlos will establish his legacy and if a possible fight with Canelo is something to look forward to in the future.

Mate, he already cemented his legacy already, he is the first boxer to unify all the belts in 2 division, at 140 and 147 lbs. Inoue followed suit as well at 118-122 lbs. So even if he retires now, his name is already in the history of boxing, he already secured his future.

So a win here will make him a 154 lbs and maybe his next target will be Charlo or Fundora or Tim Tszyu. And obviously, this is stay busy fight just to avoid ring inactivity for Crawford. And to boot, he will be fighting for the belt, so very favorable for him.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why you should only hold Bitcoin on: April 27, 2024, 09:14:10 PM
What I am ultimately getting at here in the theme of my post is that there is no other coin besides Bitcoin, which you can trust can be held over the long term. What are your thoughts?

Yeah, and that's why you will find that most users here are Bitcoin maximalist.

Maybe you can dwell on some altcoins in the beginning and see that hmm, they give us good profits. But it's not going to be sustainable at least for the long term as majority of them are pump-and-dump. Or least look at the latest hype, Runes, yeah it did affected the market and the mempool was congested.

But after the hype died down, everything is almost normal again and Bitcoin standing at the top of the food chain.
